Pupdate August 25, 2006
Fat & sassy are the words of the day! Puppies are growing like little weeds. It was brought to my attention that I was neglectful of poor Nykeita in my last update - my apologies overlooking mom! She is settling in okay although she still would prefer, I think, to have the pups elsewhere. But she is slowly resigning herself to them staying here (at least she is no longer meeting me at the door with a puppy in mouth!!). I try to make sure she has several hours outside time each day - that seems to make her happier. She is eating very, very well. Milk supply is plentiful, no signs of mastitis, discharge is stopping so no signs of residual uterus "ick" and she is still tolerant all things considered of my crew.
Puppies: My boy, Osiris, is the fattiest and sassiest and naughty. We spent 15 min "cuddling" tonight.
Weights tonight:
- Bongo: Up 3 oz to 25 oz
- Jade: Up 3 oz to 23 oz
- BlackJack: Up 2 oz to 25 oz
- Tara: Up 4 oz ro 28 oz
- Monty: Up 4 oz to 24 oz
- Kiara: Up 4 oz to 25 oz
- Osiris: Up another whopping 4 oz to 29 oz
Pictures -- first is at Day 0 (9 pups) and then the second today for comparison (7 pups). Notice how much space is left in the basket in the first picture with 9 pups and the lack of extra space with only 7 pups today! It is amazing how fast they grow/develop at this age!!
