Pupdate: October 5, 2006

A short pupdate this time! The females were all spayed today and during the spay I noticed black spots on the tongues!! I had long suspected that daddy was a Chow mix but this confirms it! Tara especially since she has softer, longer hair and a rounder, pudgier face. And her tongue has quite a bit of black on it!! She I think will pass for full Chow. The others especially Bongo & Osiris with their white markings will look full Akita since Chows & Akitas are somewhat similar with their upright ears & curly tails!!

The girls got spayed today and did just as well as the boys with their neuters. This picture was taken approximately 5 minutes after the last surgery. Kiara, on the left, was first (weighing 9.0 lbs today!) and she is already able to roll and stay on her belly. Jade (weighing 7.1 lbs today!!) is on the right and is raising her head but still on her side. Tara (9.1 lbs today!)just got out of surgery so is still snoozing away!

Kiara got a little too rambunctious for the other recovering pups so got moved off on her own. This picture was taken approximately 45 minutes after her surgery. She is already able to stand and try to lick the camera!! Puppies go to sleep quick and wake up even quicker!!

Jade & Tara continue to recover note both are sitting up and looking around. Approximately 35 minutes after Jade's (left) surgery and 25 minutes after Tara's (right - note my pudgy cheeks!) surgery.

And both of these were taken once all three pups were back together. The first one about 1 hour after the last surgery and the second one (note playing and being active) about 1.5 hours after the last surgery!

Once they were all up and walking, they were put into a run, fed, played with for a while and then they in unison decided to take a nap!

And everyone is home now. Girls are staying indoors tonight and probably tomorrow night just to be on the safe side!!
