All of them crashed out in the Xpen as I was repairing and upgrading the pen. Little Jade was not happy in the Xpen so dug out not to see her mommy but into the pen to see me! She is a smart one to figure out how to do that. The second one they were all huddled together except Osiris who must have rolled in something stinky!!
I added hardware cloth around the pen edges to discourage digging. Nykeita loves to dig and, even tho she cannot get out under the fence since it is staked every 10 inches with 2 foot camping stakes, the holes are big enough for puppies to wiggle through. Luckily they are too young to want to leave mom but when mom gets her away time all bets are off! Also added a "multi-surface activity center" with a board platform, on the board are stick-on tiles of various textures, next to it is a 'step" made out of patio block and stepping stones, and cedar shavings in the back completed the surface texture options. The pups have not made it onto Nykeita's platform yet tho not from lack of trying!!
The puppies explore the changes to the pen. First picture has Osiris on the platform. Jade coming up the steps, and Kiara checking it all out.
The second picture has Monty and Osiris in the foreground facing the camera and Bongo's cute little butt next to them. Jade is in the central background checking out the lone patio block and in the side (right) background Kiara is continuing to check out the new additions to the pen.
The third picture is of Bongo on the platform checking things out, Kiara is still trying to work up the courage to step on these wierd things, and Jade and Tara are on the stones. The former facing away from the platform with her head cut off in the picture and Tara facing the platform.
The fourth picture has all four boys and Jade. Jade is the one posing with her feet up on the platform. Bongo is showing his cute hiney again in the far background behind Jade. Monty is in profile in the center of the picture and the two dark boys are side by side in the foreground. They moved too fast resulting in their heads being "cut off" in the picture.
The puppies love to hang onto the wooden block across the gate. In fact they and Nykeita have chewed the top board almost off already! Pretty soon I'll have to put an Xpen panel up there -- little Kiara can already climb out by putting her back feet against the fence panel on the side. Naughty youngun'! This first picture is a group shot The front row (from left to right) is BlackJack (Yawning or laughing? You decide!), Osiris, and Bongo, the next row is Jade, Kiara, and Monty, and in the very back is Tara doing her "own thing"!
Hanging onto the gate - BlackJack is either going to kiss Jade or is blowing her a raspberry. You decide!
BONGO: Whatcha doing Kiara? KIARA: Blowing this popsicle stand and getting me some milk! The milk bar is just over there and umph! groan! argh! if I can just get my foot over there I will have my blessed freedom!

Nykeita comes to check out what they are eating . . .
and puppies go "The Milk bar is here HOORAY! This is much better than what we were eating." Nykeita gladly cleans up!!
