Welcome to Hockey Roms

This website is dedicated to hacking old skool hockey computer games, in particular NHLPA 93 and NHL 98.

After growing-up playing and loving NHLPA 93, I still rate this as a classic. I think the game play still ranks as the best I've played, although I haven't played any game past NHL 2006 (gave up hope!!!!).

After playing '93 obsessively for years finding that I could hack the game and change the team/player data and some of the game play was a real joy. After countless games with Mario and his Stanley Cup winning Penguins from '92, being able to skate with the Oilers featuring Messier, Kurri, Tikkanen, Fuhr, Anderson et al was a real treat.

On this site, all the hacked ROMs are for Genesis (although I actually spent most of my time playing on the SNES). However, the Genesis version is much easier/quicker to hack and equally as good and has better extras such as player stats.

All the ROMs are edited with 'NOSE' & 'Hex Editor'. The picture on the right shows a screenshot from my new Canada Cup rom. Featuring the first ever International banners for NHL93/94. These are my own design featuring Canada, CSSR, Finland, Sweden, USA and USSR.

This site also contains add-ons (created many years ago) for NHL 98 on the PC. It was a great game but with too many flaws to top '93. The add-ons page will not be updated but are there for any one who wants to use them.
