Monarch Butterfly
Lifecycle
Home
When Chris brought in the monarch caterpillar on Monday it was tiny. It ate lots of milkweed. It grew fast. Its colors were in a pattern of yellow, white and black.
Mrs. Isenberg took it home for the weekend. The caterpillar went up to the top of the box  Friday night. On Saturday it hung in a j.
By Sunday morning it had turned into a chrysalis. Now it is an oval. It is light green with gold spots.
One day Daniel announced "Look at the butterfly!" Sure enough we got to see the butterfly as it emerged from the chrysalis. At the end of the day we took it outside. It didn't fly away so we put it in an evergreen tree. We wished it a safe trip to Mexico.
