| When Chris brought in the monarch caterpillar on Monday it was tiny. It ate lots of milkweed. It grew fast. Its colors were in a pattern of yellow, white and black. |

| One day Daniel announced "Look at the butterfly!" Sure enough we got to see the butterfly as it emerged from the chrysalis. At the end of the day we took it outside. It didn't fly away so we put it in an evergreen tree. We wished it a safe trip to Mexico. |
