The last two games of the series Hershey finally found the way to completely shut down Milwaukee, simply they had to come out shooting right from the start and score a quick few to discourage the Admirals. In game five this jump was first given by Brooks Laich just twenty seconds into the first and then was soon followed by Eric Fehr, and then Kris Beech. These three goals topped off the first period with Hershey leading 3-0. Entering into the second Milwaukee came out with their cheep hitting game trying anything possible to shut down Hershey’s big forwards. This did not succeed when Eric Fehr scored his second goal of the game and eighth of the playoffs within the first eleven minutes. Milwaukee then started to get their fire back when Jordon Tootoo and Shea Weber scored taking the game into the third period with Milwaukee trailing to Hershey 4-2.  In the third both teams exchanged two goals each, starting with Milwaukee’s Libor Pivko, followed by Hershey’s Mike Green, then Milwaukee’s Brandon Segal, and finally the goal that topped off the victory for Hershey and Kris Beech empty netter with eight seconds left. This win gave Hershey the chance to return to Milwaukee with the chance to win the Cup.

Heading back to Milwaukee, Hershey went with all their family, about four hundred fans and about 3 thousand fans back home in the Giant Center to cheer them on. Right from the start Hershey once again came once again shooting. Hershey’s goal storm was started by Joey Tenute just two minutes into the first, and then was followed by Jakub Klepis and Brooks Laich allowing Hershey to enter the second with a 3-0 lead. Entering the second it was apparent that Milwaukee started to slow down when Collin Forbes scored giving Hershey a 4-0 lead. Then when on the power play Milwaukee got their only goal of the night from Derek Haydar. Once into the third with the 4-1 lead Kriss Beech secured the win by scoring about thirteen minutes in the third making the score 5-1. Now it was just the challenge of waiting for the clock to tick down. Slowly it did allowing Hershey to claim their ninth Calder Cup title in franchise history. The trill was apparent watching the guys tackle down each other and even our coach Bruce Boudreau run and leap onto J.F. Fortin in celebrating. While back in the Giant Center the place erupted with cheers and screams of joy from the many loyal Hershey fans that have wanted close to a decade to see the Calder cup back in Chocolatetown. Finally the cup was brought out, but first our outstanding goalie Frederic Cassivi was award the MVP trophy an honor that he truly earned with eighty-two games played this season leading Hershey to the Calder Cup win. Shortly after our captain, Boyd Kane, along with our assistant captains, Lawrence Nycholat and Mark Wotton, lifted the Cup over their head in true joy.

Hershey returned at three am and was greeted by fans at the airport and at the Giant Center. Friday night Hershey held their Celebrating for the fans and the players. This proved to be quite a funny night win most of our guys three sheets to the wind and all sitting behind the speakers as they tried to speak giving them bunny ears and polishing Boudreau’s head. Our Captain Boyd Kane decided to hand over the speech to a very surprised Dean “The Mayor” Arsene, after trying to speek but only with a very raspy voice. After the speeches and the commentary on Boudreau’s six dollar lime green lucky tie the players sat and signed autographs for the many fans that showed up just to see them bring the cup back to where it rightfully belongs. It proved to be one of the best celebrations the Giant Center has ever seen along with the first of hopefully many Cups the Giant Center has seen.
