I believe in God and my relationship with Him is my life.
I want to be a good person and show love to those people I come in contact with.
Like most people, I want to be happy.
I was born in Alabama and lived in California, Hawaii and Missouri as a child. My father was in the Air Force.
I went to Star-Spencer High School near Oklahoma City and was active in the Assembly of God Church.
I went to Oscar Rose Jr. College, then Central State University, then Graduated and got my Masters Degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weatherford Ok.
I worked as a history, social sciences and life science teacher, in Oklahoma until I moved to Effingham Kansas where I was a Special Education Teacher.
I was also Special Olympic coach, the Chess team coach and Knowledge Bowl coach.
I was active in civic, professional, and church activities. I was a member of the Board of Directors of the Effingham Union Church.
It was there that I started having serious health problems due to an illness and other problems that are associated with my diabetes.
These problems left my feet paralyzed and my body weakened. I had a lot of trouble walking. I had to start using a wheelchair. These problems forced me to lose my ability to continue by career. I retired due to these disabilities in 2000.
I moved to Midwest City Oklahoma in an apartment near my wonderful parents (with whom I have a good relationship).
I look forward to the adventures that are before me. I am now exploring the possibilities that God has presented me with. He has been good to me. I am grateful to Him
I have known some really nice women over my life. I guess I won�t mention some of their names.
Some were unavailable, some seemed unobtainable, a couple of them I must say, broke my heart, and although I never tried, I may have broken a heart or two, myself. Perhaps I was just too cautious. I know that I�ve missed out on a lot; sometimes I�ve felt lonely, but not often. In my times of solitude I�ve grown closer to God. Looking back now, I�d have to say that the single life has suited me well.
My mother and father have been my two best friends. We have enjoyed playing games, watching movies and going to church. We traveled together a lot until our health made it too difficult.
My older brother Larry Died when I was in high school.
My living brother, Greg, lives only a few miles away from me with his wife Patty and daughter Natalie. My older brother passed away years ago.
I am lucky to have such a wonderful and supportive family.
I have a few friends from High School and collage days that I try to stay in touch with. Daniel Moore has been one of my best friends since I was a teenager. Others are LaDawn Hicks and Ron Litke. Others I've lost track of but remember foundly.
I've met a lot of people through the church and through teaching over the years. I have many good friends in Kansas, where I spent 13 wonderful years. Roger & Martha Fredrick became more like family. Larry Bowyer, Craig Balden, Jim & Marie Graham, Mary Jennings, Phyllis Schwarzer and Mrs. Lee are just a few of the many that I hold most dear.
I couldn't even start to list the special students that I've worked with.
I was active in sports when I was younger, like softball, tennis, basketball and rock climbing, my disability put a stop to most of that.
I have at times, also been involved in the performing arts; singing, acting and performing comedy.
I also drew and wrote. Some of my poetry and drawings have been published. .
I liked to travel a lot. I've been to many U.S. states and I have crossed the borders into Canada and Mexico.
I often take photos and record my experiences in photo albums.
I like sports, especially Baseball. I love the Oakland A's. I've been a fan since 1964 when my dad took me to a game in Kansas City. I collect baseball cards of this team.
It is just recently that I have become interested in the computer and internet.
I'd like to further my education, write more, and find a way to work with handicapped children when my health improves.
My life has had several ups and downs since I first wrote about myself on this webpage...
When I started this webpage I was going to Our Lord's Bible Church. Being a part of that church was a blessing. Many wonderful people have come into my life because of it.
In 2000 my Dad had a stroke. He had always been a tower of strength. Both my mother and I are disabled and we counted on him for so much.
He lived, but he was unable to do many of the things he was able to do before.
My family really needed help.
The people of our church stepped in to help a lot, but none more than Rod and Gloria Rodriguez.
Like angels from heaven, they stepped in and did so much to help.
In 2001, just as Dad was starting to get better, I received a serious health set back when my left foot was injured. It became infected and the heel of that foot had to be amputated.
I had to go to the hospital for several days, but Gloria came everyday to cheer me up and help me along.
When I came home I needed more help than ever before.
Rod and Gloria left their home to move in with me.
It is amazing how kind and unselfish they have been.
Gloria not onlylearned to take care of my wounds; she started cooking my meals cleaning my home and takeing me everywhere I needed to go.
I had to go to the doctor a lot.
Rod and Gloria became a wonderful addition to my family and I love them more than I could ever express.
They are from San Antonio Texas. Rod worked at Kelly Air force Base. It closed a few years ago and he was transferred to Tinker Air Force Base here in Oklahoma.
We've done a lot of things together. We watch ball games together (they love the San Antonio Spurs and they have adopted the A's too!)
We have traveled some together. I've showed them around Oklahoma. we've been to Mt. Scott, Red Rock Canyon, Roman Nose Park, the Talamina Skyway, Eskimo Joe's in Stillwater and many other places.
They have taken me to San Antonio several times as well as all over south central Texas.
One of our best trips was to Kansas and Missouri, where we saw a major league baseball game between the Royals and the A's.
They have three kids, Julie, Danny and Adrian. Danny lives here in Oklahoma. He is like a brother to me. He is a fine musician who specializes in Christian Rap.
Julie lives in San Antonio and has to wonderful kids, Fren & Corinna. They come to visit often and are such blessings when they do.
As I got better I became more active in church.
I designed the church web page and maintain till the church closed..
I also worked with the church youth department. I led the Wednesday youth meeting and provided activities for the kids,
In 2004 my health got bad again. My left foot got infected again and they had to amputate the whole foot up almost to the knee. This was a very hard thing fore me as you can imagine.
In 2007 Our Lord's Bible Church pastor & my good friend had to retire due to health problems. Our Church joined together with Church of the Harvest in Oklahoma City.
I really liked it but it didn't seem quite right for me so now I've been looking around until I find a place I know my friends and I'll be happy.
I have not been able to be as active recently because of my health, but I believe God may have a few more adventures left for me in the future.
My parent�s health has suffered a lot too with age. Mom had to move to an assisted living center in 2006.
In March 2008, my father, the greatest man I've ever known passes away. We all really miss him.
A lot of people may feel sorry for me and I admit sometimes I do too, but God has blessed me a great deal through it all. Mom, Rod And Gloria helped me so much, Danny & his wife Brandie help a lot too. Their love keeps me going.
My life is a happy one because God is faithful.
