Me, Myself, and DJ

            He is only twenty-six years old, yet he has already established himself as one of the best baseball players in the history of Major League Baseball. His name may be compared to other Yankees greats including Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, or Roger Maris. This native of Kalamazoo, Michigan is also one of the most attractive and famous celebrities of our time. His name is Derek Jeter. Who wouldn’t want to be a man of such caliber?
            Derek Jeter’s physical characteristics are outstanding and admirable. He is the ultimate athlete. He is strong, tall, and in great shape. Besides his great athletic ability, he is truly one of the sexiest and handsomest stars in the mind of the public. He has appeared in numerous magazine listings of the best-looking men of the year. He is dark-haired, dark-skinned, and has a great body. He is also known for being one of the most fashionable celebrities in America. His numerous Nike campaigns and his support of Jordan’s baseball line of clothing have also provided him with a reputation for being stylish. He also has many admirable leadership qualities that allow him to excel as the franchise player for the greatest baseball team of all time, the New York Yankees.
            Despite all of his great attributes that make him a tremendous role model and an overall great guy, Derek Jeter does have some negative qualities as well. His star power and fame has somewhat corrupted this young man. Those who knew him as an up and coming star always say that he is a really nice guy and his personality exceeds his skill. I, on the other hand, have met DJ and I was actually disappointed with his personality. I found him to be a little rude and inconsiderate. Not that this was any different from any other celebrity who is constantly in the spotlights, but I have met other celebrities and found them to be more generous.
            Even though he was not exactly a great guy to me, I truly would like to be Derek Jeter for a day, or longer. He has so many commendable qualities that I would love to take advantage of. It may be difficult for a celebrity who has always been pampered to realize the damage that a conversation or autograph makes such a difference, but if I was able to take on his role, I would know how to treat my fans well. Other than that personality trait I feel that Derek Jeter exemplifies the perfect role model, and therefore if I could correct it, I could be the perfect role model. This great-looking athlete also is able to date all of the famous celebrity bachelorettes, and therefore his looks and fame would help me with women. Any man who is too good for Mariah Carey is a good man to look like. Finally, to be a star player on the Yankees has always been a dream of mine, and although it has always been an unrealistic goal, being Derek Jeter for a day would quickly and easily allow me to achieve it.

            In order to choose a role model, one must determine qualities that are important to them, and then find a person who posses those qualities. When I examine myself, I find that a combination of good looks and athleticism are admirable qualities in a person. I am able to find both of these in Derek Jeter, which is why I would wish to be him for a day.
