Chaos base found

With the Imperial regaining control of space near the Ork border, forces are finally able to be sent to eliminate the Chaos raiders in the Galatia subsector. Countless months were spent sending small scouts to the different areas , looking for a clue as to where was the location of the raider base.

Finally Gold squadron was able to detect a faint warp signature of a Murder class Cruiser at Manakai. Mindful of the vast amount of Attack craft the chaos renegades could field - the task force flagship , the Emperor Class Battleship "Ark of the Covenant " was accompanied by a Mars Class and a Dictator to establish fighter superiority. With the chaos fleet more of a raider force than an invasion fleet - the vast amount of imperial attack craft would smother there forces.

The Imperial Fleet jumped out of warp near the outskirts of the planet. They had decided to cross the systems sun and to come from the sun side of the planet so as to blind the enemies sensors.

They reached the planet without being detected or so they thought...

Suddenly alarms blared out as the Wanton Destruction - a slaughter class cruiser, emerged from there flank along with infidel torpedo boats and a squadron of Idolators emerged from an asteroid field.

Panic errupted as the Wanton Destruction fired it's batteries, destroying two Firestorms. The infidels unleashed there batteries , scoring hits on the shields, they then set up a torpedo run that would have hit the imperials gun line straight through...

It was said afterwards that the emperor himself was watching the imperial ships as the torpedo salvo the infidels fired exploded in a blast marker...

The imperial ships rallied and proceeded to lock on against the various ships that were within range. The infidels and Idolator squadrons were destroyed immediately by massed weapons fire and the Wanton Destruction was finally destroyed by a Bomber wave from a Dictator and Mars Class.

With half of the Chaos Fleet in ruins so early in the battle, the remaining ships eventually changed vector and made a run for it. The final conflict was anticlimactic but the Imperials did not care...

The Emperor had saved them.

- served as flagship in the opening moments of the campaign and continues to serve as secondary flagship

- Fleet Carrier - under Commodore Yohan Arkenbrie
- served with distinction along the Corriba Sector culminating with the Steel Hearts destruction of the Chaos Cruiser "Wanton Destruction" in the closing moments of the campaign.

Countenance, Dominator Class Cruiser
- Fleet gunboat - under Captain Sebastian Focthe
- rushed to replace the "Steel Will" -which was lost with all hands in a disastrous ambush of Chaos forces, has been serving the with the task force with pride.

Vengeance - Dauntless Class Light Cruiser
- fleet Gunboat - under Captain James Talkirk
- the most experienced ship in the fleet. has served with the taskforce since the start serving as watchdog and sentry as well as flanking force in larger engagements.
