AFTERMATH AND COMMENTS

"Surprisingly, the score was 800 plus to 600 plus. ( a difference of The majority of my points were with my knight unit (with the warrior priest) and artillery, and of this only the mortar ran off. He got my wizards though, and that hurt. All the rest, even the spearmen and halberdiers, were relatively cheap. The loss of the goblin unit with fanatics and the level 2 shaman hurt him, and all the points for all the machines and chariots counted."

"Mistakes I made were that I was too aggressive in the 2nd turn, and that enabled the giant to move to within terror test range. I also misjudged the charge range of those damned wolves (18” range is REALLY long in game terms). The lesson learned is to never give up, and it’s a good thing (for the orc player) that he heeded my advice to continue fighting. I do admit I was extremely unlucky in failing 6 out of 7 terror and fear tests, but that is what terror causing creatures are there for. My artillery also failed me when I needed them, but it happens. All in all, I didn’t feel too bad, as it was luck that failed me and not poor tactics."

**********

High Priest Ferdinand was extremely disgusted. Everything was going fine as the combined shooting of the artillery and missile units decimated the orc line. “Charge”, he yelled, and the entire right flank lurched towards the central hill, where surely behind it was the main orc unit.

Then, suddenly, a huge towering figure came out from behind the hill. It was dressed in rags, which was absolutely filthy. “So that was what was causing the stench”, thought Ferdinand. His horse suddenly snickered, then the other steeds too. Pretty soon they were all whinnying and galloping in the other direction! “Stop! Stop!”, he yelled, but the horses wouldn’t stop despite what their riders did. The next thing he knew was that his battle line was in tatters as that huge monstrosity of a giant stalked around making a huge ruckus.

Realizing that discretion was the better part of valor, he then knew that he had to warn the city of Talabheim for the impending battle ahead. Not too mention to soak their kerchiefs in scented oils so as to get rid of that godawful smell! Not even the River God could take it!
