May 4 Whew, been a while between updates, but a lot harder to find any new stuff recently - has anyone seen anything good? I saw this entry in the comment section for the poll that I though I should share: "We, the users, need to send you more pictures" - indeed, I'd love to provide pictures myself, but this is not a pay site, and we cannot afford models, so must rely on users like you to share with the rest. As always, if you have anything to share on the topic of hobble skirts - photos, art, sketches, stories, links, etc., please email me at [email protected].

And of course, more submissions from all of you are highly encouraged, only we can make this site a better place - don't be shy (as you can see, the photos can be displayed with as much anonymitity and confidentiality as you like).

Jan 4 The current results of the poll are now viewable. (Be sure to take the poll if you haven't already) I've read through the comments so far as to what features people want, and the vast majority of them, not surprisingly, would like more photos. To this end, I would love to put up more, however, since I'm not a photographer with available models (well, I am a decent photographer, if anyone wants to model let me know...), the photos for our gallery come entirely from you! So if you would like to see more of them, please consider sending a few in. Any wishes you might have about them will of course be respected. Some other suggestions mentioned expanding the links and the shopping guide section, which will of course be done continually; a forum was suggested - there haven't been too many entries in the guestbook, but if others would like a forum, I'd certainly put one up. Finally there were a couple suggestions for videos - if anyone can find any, please let me know! Cheers, your site admin.

The term 'hobble skirt' came into popular use in the early 1910s, when a European fashion trend started by French designer Paul Poiret introduced long skirts that were narrow at the hem, thus 'hobbling' the wearer, though long narrow skirts themselves appeared earlier, around 1880. This trend died shortly afterwards due to the impracticality of such a garment. Today, however, the hobble skirt is a popular item among fans of fetish clothes, as well as some of the highly fashionable, thanks to modern designers such as Karl Lagerfield. The modern hobble skirts are generally ankle-length and narrow all the way down, often made from materials such as latex and PVC.

What's so special about it? Many people find hobble skirts attractive because restrict the wearer's steps, making leg movements more deliberate, showing off the wearer's lower body while covering it at the same time, much like the corset does for the upper body.
