Poem My Friend I’d often thought,"how would it be" When we would have to part; To say goodbye to a special friend That was special from the start. We’d meet out on the ole golf course They say "it’s just a game;" The weather hot, the weather cold We loved it just the same. So many years have come and gone And it’s time to say goodbye; I didn’t know I cared so much And I’m not ashame to cry. For no one knows what a day may bring That can change the course of time; For every day is a special day And tomorrow may never be mine. I stood by his bed the other day And he gently squeezed my hand; We prayed together for that last time And then he said, "Amen." In Memory of: Dr. Richard Howard |
