Poem A Sunday Afternoon It was so many years ago I can’t remember when; We gave to each our loving hearts Don’t know how long it’s been. So many years have come and gone Though war and troubles sore; We’ve shared our love across the years We couldn’t ask for more. It all began in a country walk On a Sunday afternoon; We walked down on the ole creek bank That ended all too soon. I knew then and you did too That we would never part; No matter what the furture held We gave to each our heart, We waded in the waters clear We held each other’s hand We walked along the shadows deep Our foot prints in the sand. But that was then and this is now The joys that’s come our way; Troubled waters we have waded No price to greet to pay. |
