Poem

In Him, I now Abide

(Based on Romans. 7)

Thy Word, Oh Lord, the fountain of my faith,

And through Thy Word, Thy loving, saving grace;

Across the years, Thy Word has been my strength,

In spite of self, or what the world may think.

The battles rage, the warfare sees no end

I struggle on, ere mindful of my sin;

I know Thy peace, that Thou hast given me,

Yet in my flesh, I sometimes fail to see.

I walk by faith, I have not strength in me,

But in Thy Word, I ever trust in Thee;

For what I would, I do not dare to say,

For I am naught; give me Thy strength today.

O Wretched man, Is there not hope for me?

For in my flesh, how can I ever be?

But thanks to God, Through Christ hast set me free.,

I now abide in Him, eternally!
