Poem A Disciple I am a disciple of Jesus Christ A follower of the Lamb; I yield my all to Him each day Who is the great ‘I Am." I have no rights for which to claim No "chips" are on my shoulder; For those are not my problems now Once weighted like a boulder. My face is set; my goal is sure The way is rough and narrow; I won’t give up till Jesus comes But that may be tomorrow. I won’t look back, I won’t let up I no longer need position; I cannot be bought or compromised My only need, submission. I need no popularity No praise along the way; I walk by faith from day to day It’s called "the narrow way." My future is secure in Him My past has been redeemed; I’m called a disciple of Jesus Christ I seek not world esteem. (Inspired from a article in the messenger of First Baptist Church, Union Ms.Oct.
