Poem Righteousness, God’s Standard of Judgment "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted unto him for righteousness." Romans 4:3 Some things are "accounted," While some are "reckoned" so, And some are ‘imputed," They are the same, you know. So when righteousness is "reckoned," Or "Imputed" so to be; It means it is "accounted" To the likes of you and me. Our righteousness are filthy rags The best we’ll ever be If I’m ever to be righteous It’ll be "Imputed" unto me. When Jesus took my sin and shame He "accounted" it his own He gave to me His righteousness "Imputed" from His Throne. I’ll stand in judgment on that day And I’ll not be ashamed "Dressed in His righteousness alone" "Accounted" in His Name. The dirty old robe that is my own As I’ve walked upon this earth Has now been washed in Jesus’s Blood And righteousness its Worth. I make no claim of righteousness For filthy rags are mine But Jesus Christ, my righteousness And all my sins: Thine! (See Romans 10:3,4) |
