Poem Another Day The weather’s cold; the wind is blowing, Snowflakes falling on the ground; (Every season has it’s pleasures) What other time can such be found? The smoke’s arising from the chimney It’s smell ascending in the air; The family gathered around the fireplace There was no weary; there was no fear. The scene is pictured in my memory Of the days so long ago; When the family was the focus With no Television, no Radio. The cold winds now brings back memories Of another day; another time; When simple things were more important Like neighborliness: and little crime. Those days are gone, and time is passing We pass the mantle, now, to our youth; What can we give to share the burdens The Word of God; the Word of Truth. |
