Poem Amateur Radio I am a "ham" in Radio, I have chosen so to be; Just one look in my back yard, And it is so plain to see. All my neighbors are gracious, They’ve never said a word; If "tvi" is a bother, You’d think they’d never heard. We can talk to folk all over, And oh yes, across the sea; You can make a friend so readily, For a "Ham’s" the thing to be. The cellular phone is competing, And that, every one can see; It’s not the same as "Radio," Or to be a "licensee." For a Ham is someone special, And there is so much to learn; To be the best that one can be: What you get, is what you’ve earned. The telephone is a necessity, And we would not be without; But there’s no thrill like Radio, And of that, I have no doubt. |
