Poem CHOOSE THE CHANGES FAITH FOR TODAY Choose the changes, Oh Lord, When the days seem so long, For we walk in the night; And we cannot find our way; Thou who sees in the darkness, Then look to the tomorrow, Please guide us aright. For a better and brighter day. Choose the changes, Oh Lord, For in our tomorrow's, For we know not the way; With faith strong and sure; Thou who knows all about us, With Christ as our shepherd, Please guide us aright. We can always endure. Choose the changes, Oh Lord, So let us look up, for our eyesight is dim; And be not dismayed; Thou who gave us a Savior, For with God on our side, Please lead us to him. So why be afraid. Choose the changes, Oh Lord, For our strength is all gone; Thou who spoke the creation CHARIOTS OF FIRE Please carry us home. It's a frightening thing to look up and see, The forces of evil much stronger than we; For we in our weakness so helpless and poor, The enemy surrounds us, he stands at the door. But let us remember the story of old, How horses and chariots, so many we are told; Encamped all around. the prophet divine, The young man who served him, was surely not blind. He said to his master, with a trembling voice, The enemy surrounds us and we have no choice. The prophet said simply, "Lord, open his eyes," (Could we be so willing; could we be so wise?) The horses, the horsemen, the chariots of fire, God's army surrounds us in this very hour! So let us take courage, and be not dismayed, With God on our side, so why be afraid? |
