Poem

Annamary

Her name is Annamarymary,in country far away,

Where war and strife and bloodshed.

Was the order of the day.

She was found in Tanzania, she was a refugee,

Her mother's name, Uwasanase,

From Rwanda she did flee.

In the midst of war and conflict, this infant child

was born, her mother died soon after,

With no one left to mourn.\

This lovely child of Africa, left alone that day

An orphan in a foreign land,

She had no place to stay.

So when I read her story, to know I'd had a part,

Through Southern Baptist Missions,

It simply touched my heart.

Those eyes so dar and beautiful, with fear upon her face,

Held in the arms of those who cared;

Because of God's great grace!

A LITTTLE LIFE

The taking of a little life,

seem such a comman place;

I wonder if they'd change their mind,

If they could see her face?

The little nose, the rosy cheeks,

The little mouth and chin;

The little yawn, the little smile,

With just a little grin.

The little arms, the little legs,

With fingers,oh, so long;

The key-board of a baby grand,

If she could play her song.

But now she waits unknowingly,

For she will never see;

The lovely flowers as the bloom,

Or see a honey bee.

The awful price that men must pay,

When men reap what they sow;

Unlike the awful holocaust,

Today we surely know.
