ABOUNDING GRACE

It’s not the things that man may see, that troubles most my soul;

If I were measured by man’s scales, I might be ever bold;

It’s not man’s judgment that I fear; I fear not man or beast;

But holiness and righteousness -- my soul finds no release.

I might not be so wicked, as some are said to be,

But are my sins less sinful in the light of Calvary?

If sin is a transgression, and that’s what God has willed,

Then I am a transgressor, for truly I have failed.

Then hopeless, doomed and dying; Yes, dead my soul must be;

My righteousness are fifthly rags, that I can clearly see.

Is there no hope for men like me? My sins man may not see.

Yes there is hope for every one, and there is hope for me.

For Jesus died for men like me; He took the sinner’s place.

For nothing good that I have done; Is.’s only by His grace.

Imputed righteousness is mine; my sins on him are laid.

For that’s the love God has for me, and that’s the price He paid.
