Wings Edged Out by Stingers 2-1
Thursday November 31, 2003

WARRINGTON (AP) -  In what was truely a game of night and day halves, the Wings dropped their third straight game last night to the Stingers 2-1 to go to 0-3-2 for the season. The games first half was dominated by the Stingers who outshot the Wings 11-4 in the first period, and 17 to 6 in the second period, with most of those shots coming in the early portion of the 2nd. Had it not been for the stellar goaltending of
Dave Gray this game could've gotten out of hand early, but the Stingers only had a 2-0 at the end of the second period.
In the third period the Wings looked like a completely different team, outskating the Stingers for the better part of the period and outshooting them 12-7. An early 3rd period goal by
Greg Falcone seemed to be what breathed some life into the team. Despite a few more quality opportunities, the Wngs were kept at bay for the remainder of the period, and the Stingers held on for the 2-1 win. Goalie Dave Gray stopped 33 of 35 shots in the loss.
