Notes on Ship Type The 14inch guns troubled the class throughout the war, and the 5.25in turrets were cramped and too slow firing to be ideal AA weapons. The loss of Prince of Wales in 1942, led to the remaining ships AA armament being greatly increased. Upto 65 Oerlikons were fitted, and pom-poms numbered upto 48.
