Opening up Microsoft Power Point:

 

  1. Start
  2. Programs
  3. Microsoft Power point
  4. Choose blank presentation

 

Adding Word art to your slide:

 

  1. Insert
  2. Picture
  3. Word art
  4. Choose a design
  5. Type your title
  6. Click okay
  7. Make sure the dots are around the item to resize or move it
  8. In order to change the color, right click on the word art
  9. Choose format word art

 

Adding a text box:

 

  1. Insert
  2. Text box
  3. Drag cursor to the slide
  4. Place the upside down cross where you want to the text box to begin
  5. Click on the left mouse button and hold it
  6. Drag the box
  7. Begin typing
  8. To change font size, type, and color…go to format
  9. Choose font

 

Adding a background:

 

  1. Right click on the white area of the slide
  2. Choose background
  3. Choose the down arrow to the fill effects
  4. You can change this like word art
  5. If you want to choose a picture, click on the picture tab
  6. Choose a picture you have on your computer
  7. To add a background from the internet, save it to your desktop
  8. Click on the picture tab
  9. Select a picture
  10. Click insert
  11. Click okay
  12. Click apply

 

Copying pictures from the Internet:

 

  1. Find the picture you want
  2. Right click on it
  3. For a background, choose save as
  4. Arrow down to the desktop
  5. Name it something you will remember
  6. Click save
  7. Just to add a regular picture, right click
  8. Choose copy
  9. Then go to the slide
  10. Right click on the slide
  11. Choose paste

 

Searching the Internet for pictures:

 

  1. Go to google.com
  2. Click on images
  3. Type in the kind of picture you are looking for…such as Christmas background
  4. Click search
  5. If you are just looking for regular pictures, be sure to search for ‘gifs’
  6. If you want moving pictures, search for animated items

 

 

Adding a midi sound file to your slide:

 

  1. Go to google.com and type your topic and the word midi and search
  2. Once you have found what you have wanted, you will need to save it to the server
  3. Next, open up your power point slide on which you want the sound file or midi placed
  4. Now, go to insert
  5. Choose movie and sounds
  6. Choose sound gallery
  7. Import the clip into the sound gallery…this method will guarantee that it will transfer to my classroom
  8. Next, click on slide show
  9. Choose custom animation
  10. Check the media box
  11. Click on the media settings and set this up how you want it
