Opening up Microsoft Power Point:
- Start
- Programs

- Choose

Adding Word art to your slide:
- Insert
- Picture
- Word
art
- Choose
a design
- Type
your title
- Click
okay
- Make
sure the dots are around the item to resize or move it
- In
order to change the color, right click on the word art
- Choose
format word art
Adding a text box:
- Insert
- Text
box
- Drag
cursor to the slide
- Place
the upside down cross where you want to the text box to begin
- Click
on the left mouse button and hold it
- Drag
the box
- Begin
typing
- To
change font size, type, and color…go to format
- Choose
font
Adding a background:
- Right
click on the white area of the slide
- Choose
background
- Choose
the down arrow to the fill effects
- You
can change this like word art
- If you
want to choose a picture, click on the picture tab
- Choose
a picture you have on your computer
- To add
a background from the internet, save it to your desktop
- Click
on the picture tab
- Select
a picture
- Click
insert
- Click
okay
- Click
apply
Copying pictures from the Internet:
- Find
the picture you want
- Right
click on it
- For a
background, choose save as
- Arrow
down to the desktop
- Name
it something you will remember
- Click
save
- Just
to add a regular picture, right click
- Choose
copy
- Then
go to the slide
- Right click
on the slide
- Choose
paste
Searching the Internet for pictures:
- Go to
google.com
- Click
on images
- Type
in the kind of picture you are looking for…such as Christmas background
- Click
search
- If you
are just looking for regular pictures, be sure to search for ‘gifs’
- If you
want moving pictures, search for animated items
Adding a midi sound file to your slide:
- Go to
google.com and type your topic and the word midi and search
- Once
you have found what you have wanted, you will need to save it to the server
- Next,
open up your power point slide on which you want the sound file or midi
placed
- Now,
go to insert
- Choose
movie and sounds
- Choose
sound gallery
- Import
the clip into the sound gallery…this method will guarantee that it will
transfer to my classroom
- Next,
click on slide show
- Choose
custom animation
- Check
the media box
- Click
on the media settings and set this up how you want it
