| On 04.29.2008 - My birthday fishing trip... Well on the 04.29.2008 day it was my birthday so got nothing to do and requested a vacation on that day and went fishing to my secret spot. Got to the area around 1100 hrs. Was bait fishing for six hour with small bite from juvi fish. Then at around 1800 hrs I was casting lure. Then at around 1930 hrs. I have my very first hit of the day. A nice striper. The fish hit it very close to the shore as I was retrieving the lure. I was on top of a cliff casting the bomber lure and as I was retrieving it, as it nearly hit the bank shore and seeing my lure coming out of the water, the striper came under it from the left side of me and I can see all of it, took it from the head first, bam, and its fish on baby... That was the best ever seeing a striper hitting my lure... The striper took the lure as it splash and splash as the other side people ( hmong ) over heard the tough fighting striper drag it down river for five runs and finally it gave up, and got it in. It measure at 29 half inches long and weight 11# pounds. Its a male striper and it had two crawdaq in its stomach... Then friend arrive at the scene. Then around 2100 hrs. Got myself another striper on the same spot, and it measure at 26" 8.5 pounds. It also have a DFG tag on it. All of sudden, friend left home. I ask Jay to stay with me and he was not cooperating with me, I tell him if we stay for an hour we will hit our limit and still not cooperating with me so he left. Since I already have my limit I will be heading home too, so as I was starting the car he came back. Saying,then lets fish then dawg... So I told him lets get it on. Then around 2200 hrs. he finally landed one. A nice 32" 15# pounders striper. He was using a deep dive rebel lure. So I told him, see what I told you, no more then an hour you will land one. After that we were fishing there for another three hours... What a nice fishing day on my day of birth... Fish On and Tight Line. Wish to go back again! |
| Will be heading to the California delta anytime soon to fish for more striper. Will report back later if no fish or fish... So that said, get your Fish On!... -You will never know true happiness until you have truly fished, and you will never understand what pain really is until you have lost it....- |

| On 06.25.2008 We fish at New Hogan Lake. We fish from 1800 hrs to 0900 hrs. Well we caught this 26" at around 2300 hrs using cut anchovies at around 20 feet of dept. Also lost one big catfish while pulling it in to the shore, so we ended up with only one striper... Someday you will catch fish and someday you get skunk there. It's a weird lake but seem like there not too many of them striper at New Hogan Lake at this time... Long time ago in the late 90's we use to catch them everytime we fish there, seem like that lake is declining on striper. So you have to fish pretty hard to catch them every once in a while you go there... I will go back again to fish there anytime soon so I will report back on how I do there... Tight Line & Fish On...! |

| 08.03.2008 Was fishing in the delta at around 1700 hrs. Was bait fishing using what ever I can throw at them from sardine, anchovies, frozen mud sucker, and crawdaq and to my surprise I only got a few nibble bite from juvi fish... So I got out my plastic shad and was casting it out than I got one hit at very close range. It seem like a bass but look like a salmon but all I can see was a shinny brown skin from its side, but didn't hook it so that was the only good bite for the day, and left home at 20:00 hrs... Tought the fall run will start early but not yet so wait until next month to see how it turn out... So tight line and fish on... This Sat. I will be diong some crabbing at the bay, and also I will be giong for some striper at the bay since they might already be there and soon to roam back into the river... Will try to use hell raiser 1 oz. at them to see how it goes. So I will report back to see if I caught anything... So that been said, get your fish on... |
