LondonSunday Today didn't start very well. I thought that my plane was at 8:30, but it turned out that the plane left at 8:30. I realised this when I was waiting at Europa bus station for the airport bus to come at 7:00 am. That would have put me there in plenty of time for the supposed flight. But it is 6:30 and I decide to take the 25 taxi trip to make the flight. I figured that I would get there at around 7:05 and would be able to make the plane. Turns out EasyJet closes check-in half an hour before the plane leaves. I got to the airport at 2 mintues after 7 and was told that I had effectively missed my flight. Oh boy did that suck. I had to wait until the 10:55 flight (almost four hous later). Oh well, I had a good book, so I settled if for the next 2 hours before I could check-in. 9 o'clock rolls around and I go to check-in. Remember, I am carrying 2 and a half months worth of clothes plus the stuff that I had accumulated over the summer, turns out I am 11 kilos over the weight limit. At 4 pound a kilo I decide to try an do a little repacking. I get it down to 3 kilos too heavy and the counter lady takes pity on me and says to just do better next time. I get on my plane and go to London. The rest of the trip was a piece of cake. I got to the hostel no problem. I spent the afternoon and evening wandering around Hyde Park and figuring out the Underground. I visited the Princess Diane memorial fountain. It was a nice tribute, but it did look bigger on TV. I crashed hard that night and woke up with a stuffy nose the next morning. Monday Stupid nose. I don't know if I am sick or allergic to British people. It has been running all day and hasn't stopped. Anyways, I got up around 8:30 when the rest of the rom started to move around. I had my berakfast and looked at my map to try and figure out how I was going to spend the day. The Underground makes eveerything easy to get too. Just get a whole day pass for 4.50 and hop on and off as much as you want. The first thing I did was get my ticket for The Phantom of the Opera. I went down to Leister Square and got it at the Tkts booth (yes, that is Tkts, and no it is not misspelled). I got a front row ticket. With my main goal for the day accomplished, I set off for Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. Westminster was impressive. The thing that got me the most was that almost every stone in the floor was a dedicated to someone's death. It felt as if you were walking on graves, something that I have never been all too comfortable doing.
