OVERVIEW--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --This is the best harvest moon by far for a Game Boy Color system. It has many crops, new --people, more animals, and a GIRL. The story behind this harvest moon, you leave the mainland --to go to an island to help a farmer friend out on his/her (depending on the gender you chose) --farm after successfully saving your grandfather's farm on the mainland. There are many new --add-ons to this version, the whole island/mainland situation, the animals (you can have 8 --chickens, 8 cows, 8 sheep, 8 horses), the shipping of crops (annoying), and marriage. Yes, on --this version of Harvest Moon, there is a way to get married, however, it is with your "farming --partner" only. It is still all good a package. Starting off is hard, money is tight, and the --availability of seeds is minimum. But once you get the fishing pole, and money for crops, it --becomes easier. The fishing pole is the best gift you will receive on the games, as you can --catch alot of fish everyday, and sell them for a lot of money. This game will provide its own --unique challanges and fun, so GOOD LUCK! B. Each dog protects --your livestock, not depending on the size. There are three types: Big, Medium, Small. --Cat --Brings you seeds. There are 3 types, and each brings a different seed type. --Bird --Looks like Cliff's bird Cain. The bird will bring flower and herb seeds to you. --Pig --This one is interesting. It should bring you money. E. POWERBERRIES--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --1-6 Till the soil. They come up in the main growing area and the pastures behind the barns. --7. Talk to Dwarf in the cave in the mountain after the earthquake happens. Don't worry, --you don't have to give him anything, just talk to him. --8. Snowboarding Score. I think you must achieve a perfect score, or something along that --line. Just do really, really good. --9. Being Friends with the Mermaid. One day, in the island village, you'll find a bottle --on the beach on the rightmost part of town. You'll read the message, and you should --answer the questions with stuff like "I believe you", "Let's be friends", etc...(anything --positive or supporting the idea of a mermaid). After a while, you'll get directions to her --cave. --10. Give Every Type of Fish to the Aquarium. You'll have to capture the "Lake King" --for this one. See secrets for the method of catching this fish. You must give the "Lake --King" to the aquarium. Also, you must give the max of every type of fish. The smaller ones --you'll have to give many of, the bigger ones only take one or two. See "fish" link for more --details on the location of fish. F. FESTIVALS------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Earthquake --Around the middle of spring, second year --Hurricanes --In the Summer on either the 11th or the 21st in any year. --Fireworks --On the 20th of Summer, go to the Sea after 6 pm. You will meet Karen.=) --Red Secret of the Spring --On the 24th of Fall, go to the Forest Maze and enter the Spring at 3pm. --Date --Whenever your Wife/Husband asks you, go to the Sea, or somewhere else. --Solar Eclispe --In the Summer on the First Monday in the First Year. --Fertilizer Maker --Anytime, when you make more than 50,000G, either gender of the Farmer (CPU) will ask you --to buy a Fertilizer Maker. --Cost: $49,000 --Lightning --On the 1st of Spring in Year 1, and on the 28th of Spring (Sunday) at 10 PM, your Female --Partner (only if you are a boy) will be scared of the Lightning. --River King --On the 1st of Spring in Year 2, go talk to the Aquarium Manager about the river king. --He says catching it at 6pm to 12am at the Spring in the Forest Maze. The next day, there --will be an egg. G. LIVESTOCK--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Chickens --Chickens are easy to raise, and they provide cheap costs and profits. They are not a --money maker, but they do contribute early on. The only require fodder to keep them happy, --just feed them everyday. If you do miss feeding them, they'll be mad at you for 3 days and --not lay eggs. --The roosters (male) will not contribute to the egg laying, but he can fertilize the egg in --the incubator for it to become a chick. The females are the only ones that are gonna lay --eggs, so they are the best investment. Mayonaise is produced from eggs, and if you are the --girl, there is a mayo-maker you can buy, and you guys out there need to purchase books that --teach the girl how to make mayo, she won't make every egg into mayo, but she'll make most of --them. --Sheep --Sheep require justa bit more of care than chickens, but not much. Their wool is a great selling --produce, and it'll quickly pay for the sheep itself. Sheep require constant feeding, and when --they have wool, they need to be shampoo-ed. When you trim the sheep, you do not need to shampoo --it because it has no wool (imagine that)! There is a sweater-maker and a yarn-maker you can buy --as the girl, and as the boy, you can buy the books that tell the girl how to make each product. --The only use I have seen for the different makers isn't cost, but in the morning fair, some --people will ask for wool, yarn, or a sweater, so be prepared! --Both genders of sheep produce wool, so you do not need to care which gender you buy. To produce --a lamb, you need to put a male and a female sheep that both have their wool in the pen in --the barn. The next day, the female sheep will be pregnant for 30 days, congratulations. --Cows --Cows require the most care: feeding, brushing, and milking; everyday. Make sure you feed --these cows everyday, if you don't, you won't get any milk for three days, and their hearts --will stop increasing for a while. Milk everyday is a good source of income, especially when --you get the large sizes on each of your cows. There is a butter maker and a cheese maker --you can purchase as a girl, and as the boy, you can buy the books that tell the girl how --to make each product. Again, the only uses I have seen for these different makers is to --help sell during the morning fair. Also, their is a cow contest at the Farmer's Union, you --get to have your cow rated according to its heart level. You can only have each cow rated --once, so don't waste a lower heart level rating on a good cow. I am not sure what happens --if you win, except you get a better reputation. --Bulls (male) don't produce milk, they are only there for breeding. A cow born on the farm --is a happier cow, don't forget that. The females produce milk everyday unless you forget --to feed them, so don't forget! I am sure the pregnacy time is 30 days for the cow too, --so don't rely on the cows filling up the barn by giving birth. I bought most of my cows, --and I am doing good, so you should be able too! --Horses --Horses are expensive, and make no produce. The only thing you can do is sell the offspring, --or race them at the Farmer's Union. You must feed and brush them everyday. Wait until you --have your horses hearts all the way up before you send them off to be rated. Once you send --them off, they won't come back, so be prepared to be spared a horse. You can ride these --around the farm some, but it is not much use as they have no use. There is no difference on --gender here, you only need them to produce a baby on the farm. The baby might do better in --the races, you never know. I am also pretty sure there is a 30 day pregnacy wait for the --horses too. G. PLACES-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --The Mainland --Farmers' Union --Description Buy grass seeds, supplies and livestock here. You can also sell your livestock --here but your animals will become sad. You also can have your savings account here and get --a Part Time job. --Shopping Mall --Description There is always somthing good here on sale, Search the shops for seeds, books --and even furnishings for your house. --The Aquarium --Description Here you can look at varius kinds of fish that you have cought with the Fishing --rod. The owner will give you some sot of Proposition. While here you can also stand in front --of the tank, press A button and find out whats in the tank. --Theater --Description If you ever have enough money to come see a movie, be sure to check out the --Theater, They have a new show playing every season! --The Island --Your Farm --Description This is where you work and Grow crops with your Male/Female partner for most of --the game. Here, you can find your house, Secret garden, Pastures, barn, Fields, Storage --shed, and your very own Spa. --Town --Description At the town You will find the townsfolk who may at different times give you --special items like the fishing rod and other special items, Be sure to give them gifts and --make friends. --The Grassland --Description Once everything is complete on your farm come here to pick Bonus produce all --day to help you with your daily income. --The Mountain --Description the mountain may seem Useless at first but wait a little while and somthing --big will happen. --Cliff --Description Here you can watch the sunset and maybe a festival will take place here.
