You've survived for an entire year, made new friends, --built up the farm and made a life for yourself. This might be a good time --to ask your favorite young lady to join you. Prepare for this festival by --drinking a lot of beer, then you can outdrink everyone! --Planting--8th --If you are the harvest king, you pick a friend, or girlfriend, to ride in the --hot air balloon. If you are just an onlooker, you could be picked to --ride in the balloon, or release smaller balloons with seed packets. --Horse Race--17th --If you want to participate in the race, you must have a horse and submit it the --day before the race. Also, you can bet on the horses in the race. See secrets --for more details. --Flower Festival--23rd --If you are the harvest king, you dance with the goddess of the flower festival --that is elected by submitting votes in the box in the square(18th-22nd). --If you are not the king, you dance with a girl that isn't a goddess or --if you are dating the goddess, the king might let you dance with the goddess. --Summer --Fireworks--1st --Watch the fireworks with your girlfriend! Karen is at the beach, Mary is in --the square(I think), Popuri is in the mountain(use the tree to get up the --mountain) Ann is at her ranch, and I dont know where Elli is. --Vegetable--9th --Enter a vegetable to be judged in the contest. The best vegetable that I --have always won with was corn. --Firefly--17th --At night at the beach, you send little flowers floating out into the ocean --to pay respect to ones that have passed away. No real participation --in this festival. --Swimming--24th --easy festival to win, just tap A repeativly at a constant speed to win. --The prize is an "invisible katori"(1st yr) and lumber the next years. --Fall --Cow--4th --Festival in which you can either look at cows, or you can enter your cow. --If your cow wins, it will produce golden milk. Also, leave it outside the --next couple of days for a photo oportunity! --Harvest--12th --At this festival, you try to get the coin in your piece of cake to become harvest king! --Egg--20th --Basic easter-egg hunt. Powerberry is the first year prize, and the second year --prize is a turtle figurine. *See secrets for more info! --Bridge Repair--23rd-27th(1st yr) --The carpenters will ask you in the first year to help them repair the bridge. --They pay you everyday for the work about $1000! --Horse Race--28th --Same as horse race in the spring. --Winter --Mine is open the 8th through the 30th! --Thanksgiving--10th --If you are lucky, the girl you like will give you a sweet! --Mountain Spring--12th-16th --The carpenters will ask you to help them build the pen around the hot spring --area. They pay you $1000 for each day of work. --Dog Race--19th --Race your dog. A different, semi-difficult race. Also betting does take place. --Starry Night--24th --Three of the girls: Marie, Ann, and Eli; will be singing in the church. You'll --be able to find Karen on the beach and Popuri in the woods. --Spirit--27th --If you have an ocarina and are good friends with the current king you can play --at this festival. If you are the king, you select who you want to perform --with you. Otherwise, just sit back and relax. --New Year Eve--30th D. GIRLS----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --The girls have different levels of liking you, represented by the heart color in their dialouge --box. It is as follows: White->Purple->Green->Yellow->Red. --To increase their heart color, give them gifts of what they like everyday, and talk to them, --and answer the questions like they want you to. 1. ANN -- --Description --Ann is a tomboyish girl that lives with her father and her brother at the Green Ranch. -- Like girls in real life (hehe), she likes big, expensive gifts. She really likes wool -- and if you take care of your animals, she will like you even more. Although she likes -- animals, she doesnt like you taking animals from the forest, so leave them in their place. --Also, if you want to marry her, dont let your animals die. --Birthday --Summer 14 --Hangouts --Of course, she usually will be at the ranch helping her dad. KAREN -- --Description --Karen is mean to strangers, but after a few gifts she'll come around and not be so mean. -- Karen really likes your dog, veryberries, and wild grapes. Also, she likes most vegetables. --Birthday --Winter 29 --Hangouts --During the day, she is either at the vineyard, beach, or around the mountain carpenters' -- house. Popuri is a nice girl who wants to be seen as an adult. --Birthday --Spring 22 --Locations --She usuall is around the flower shop, or on rainy days, in the shop. Some times --she is in the mountain around the Goddess Pond. Only certein seeds can be purchased --during certein seasons. --Fishing Pole --Get from Greg the fisherman for free when you first talk to him. --Brush --Use this to brush cows, sheep, and your horse to increase their liking of you. --Milker --Use this to get milk from your cows --Shears --Use this to get wool from your sheep. --Animal Medicine --Use this to make your sick animals well again. --Miracle Potion --Use this to make your cow to have a calf in a season! --Chicken Feed --Use this to feed your chickens.(surprising?) --Fodder --After you cut grass on your farm, the grass becomes fodder that you feed cows with. --Blue Feather --Use this to propose to you girlfriend. --Ocarina --If you are the king, or good friends with him, you use the ocarina to play --at the music festival. --Vase --Mine a blue rock from the mine then give it to Saibara so he can repair the -- old red vase. After he repairs it, he will sell it to you. --Rug --Rug for your house --Organizer --Stores non-edible items for later use.(such as flowers) F. LIVESTOCK----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Dog --In the beginning of the game, you name your dog. Your dog does not do much. But, -- during the year, you need to feed the dog by putting food in the food dish. -- Also, you need to call and pick up your dog to prepare him for the dog race. --Horse --In the beginning of the game, go to the Green Ranch to get a colt. Also, you need -- to invest in a brush to brush your horse everyday. In about a season, the --colt will grow to a fine adult horse. When he grows up, you can ride him and -- put crops in his saddle bags. Train your horse for the Horse Race. --Cows --In Harvest Moon 64, you can have a total of 8 cows or sheep, in any combination. -- Cows cost $6000. Brush and talk to your cows everyday to make her happy and -- produce large milk. During cow pregnacy, the milk size of a cow goes down --one size. Feed cows fodder on rainy days and let them outside on sunny days. --Sheep --Sheep cost $4000. Sheep require fodder each day, brushing, and a talking to. Wool -- can only be cut every seven days, but the profit of wool is great. Feed sheep -- fodder on rainy days and let them outside on sunny days. --Chickens --You can have up to six chickens, and you only have to buy ONE chicken. Chickens -- lay eggs everyday, and you can take the egg and put it in the incubator to --produce a chick that will become a chicken. Chickens is probably the first --animals you will have. G. Bust the large rock on the pond behind the fisherman's tent during Winter when the pond --is frozen with a Golden hammer. --5. Buy at the Flower Festival for $1,000. --6. Dig in the Winter mine on the lower levels. --7. Win the Egg Festival the 1st year. --8. Fish at the beach! --9. Plant many Pink Cat Mint Flowers, let them grow. One day Stu will visit you, --He'll give you a marble for some flowers. Give the marble to one of the sprites. --10. They are in connection with the Goddess. -- Mysterious little fellows. --Goddess --The Goddess grants wishes if you throw a vegetable into the Goddess Pond 9AM-5PM --Imp --Imp of the pond behind the fisherman's tent. Give him a large fish and get -- a powerberry, and a small fish reveals a blue berry that protects you from -- rain sickness. Possibly named Kappa ? --Salesman --He will try to sell you many items that aren't what they say it is. The only --thing worthwhile that he sells is the powerberry at the flower festival. --Scientist --A crazy-looking old man who studies butterflies will come looking for a rare --specie during the 2nd Spring. The butterfly he looks for comes only where a --blue-mist flower grows. III. Secrets/Tips/Hints ---------------------------------------------------------------- --Horse/Dog Race --To keep your money and bet heavily on the animals racing, bet what you want --on each animal and use all the money you can. After you are done placing your --bet, hit the "B" button twice. This make you seem as you are cancelling the bet, --but actually the bet stays the same and you keep your money. Also, dont talk to --the mayor or you will have to redo the betting. --Restoring the Vineyard --1. Befriend Duke the bar owner and the Harvest Sprite in the cave. After giving them -- both gifts many days, Duke will give you the Door to Heaven wine. --2. After little time, the Harvest Sprites will mention the Door to Heaven wine. They -- will talk about visiting the goddess for more information. --3. Take a crop you grew to the Goddess Pond from 9AM-5PM. Through the crop into the --pond to summon the goddess. Select (I think) something about the vineyard, or the only -- option up there. (I'm not sure) --4. After the wish, visit the vineyard and talk to the tree in the back of the vineyard. --5. During the night, the goddess will visit you in a dream. Immediatly go to the vineyard --to see that the vineyard is restored! --6. Fall 7th, after you have restored the vineyard, Karen will visit you to take the --Keifu Fairy Dance picture. --Karen's secret --During a night that Karen is working at the bar, go to the bar with your dog. Show --Karen your dog many, many times to build her heart meter to a pink heart. --Music Box --1. Find the treasure map in the only tree on the farm. --2. Dig in the spot it leads you to 5-10 times during the summer. --3. The music box will appear. --4. Befriend Rick, he will fix it up. --5. Give it to your favorite girl. --Free Wine/Milk --Wine: Go to the vineyard wine cellar and use your bottle against one of the large kegs --Milk: Go to one of your cows and use the bottle against it. --Free Eggs --Leave your chickens outside to get eggs without feeding them. You do not have --to put them on your roof. --Rick's Invention --Give Rick 10 rare metals. He will come to your farm and introduce you to --a machine. The machine will "freeze" the crop. Give him 20 rare metals, --and he will come with the machine that enlarges the crop making it worth more. IV.
