    What does FAQ stand for?
    Frequently Asked Questions (with answers).

    Is it Coed?
Yes, both men and women are welcome.

    Who is eligible to play?
The school district requires that participants be at least 18 years old and are not currently attending high school.

How many courts do you have?
Two. Enough for four teams. (16-28 people.)

What happens on a typical night?
The first people arriving setup the net. Then people start to warm up (bumping and setting the ball to each other).
Once enough people (about 6) arrive, a game starts. As people arrive, they join the game.
Normally, by the time that game is done, we have enough people for four teams (16-28 people). Then we line up and count off making four teams. Team 1 plays 2 and 3 plays 4. When both games are done, we rotate clockwise and play another team. When both games are done, we switch again and play the team we haven't played yet.
When those games are done, we line up again, form new teams and play three more games (time permitting).

What do the numbers in () mean on the schedule??
That's the number of people who (to the best of my memory) showed up to play on that day.

    What is the skill level?
That is hard to answer. We have "intermediate" skill. The best way to learn is judge for yourself. Just show up and decide for yourself if you think you'll fit in.

Does the setter have to call for the ball on hit #2?
No. If the setter does not want to take hit #2, he/she should call "help" loudly, clearly and quickly enough so that a teammate can take hit #2.

    Can I bring my children?
Sure, if they are eligible to play (18+ and not attending H.S.). Otherwise, no. The school's liability insurance doesn't allow children in the gym while we are playing. I realize this can be a hardship, but I don't make the rules. The insurance company made those rules.

    Can we get snowed out?
Yes, if Eagle Hill School closes early for snow or other reason, volleyball is cancelled for that evening.
I would appreciate it if the first person who learns of a snow-out would post that news to this site's bulleting board.

    What about holidays?
When the school is closed, we can't play in the gym. Please see the Schedule.

May I use the bulletin board to announce a volleyball tournament?
Yes, please do. Please eMail too. I may want to make a general announcement.

May I use the bulletin board to recruit players for a team?
Yes. Please eMail too. I may want to make a general announcement.

Why is there a red seat in Fenway Park?
It marks where Ted Williams' longest home run landed.

What if my question isn't in the FAQ?
Please ask it via eMail. Or you may post your question to the bulletin board.
