Red Folders - Each child will be given a red Take Home Folder. Please check it every night and remove your child's papers. You may use this folder to send in notes, homework, behavior reports, and other important papers that need to be returned to school. This folder should be brought to and from school each day.
Homework - I will send a packet of homework home every Monday. The packet is due on Friday morning. Homework that is incomplete will require a visit to the reflection chair. If there are any questions about homework, please send it with a note and I will clarify by explaining it to your child. Homework should be monitored by a parent or adult and it should be signed to indicate that you have supervised your child�s completion of it. If you need extra time to complete the homework then that is fine. However, I will need a note stating this and if I don�t receive one, your child will visit the reflection chair. The front cover of the homework packet is my form of communication. It will tell you exactly what we are working on.
Eagle of the Week - Children can earn this by following and demonstrating the school and classroom rules, meeting the behavior standards, and following the EAGLE motto. Your child will also receive the Flat Stanley Journal for the week. Direcitons are posted in the journal.
Book Orders - Each month I will send home book orders. This is an excellent way to receive quality books at a reasonable price. Make checks payable to Scholastic Book Club. Please no cash.
Box Tops - Please save and send in your Box Tops.
Birthdays - If you wish to celebrate your child�s birthday, you may send in a birthday treat. Individual treats such as cupcakes, cookies, etc. work best for quick and easy clean up. Summer birthdays will be acknowledged later in the school year.
Lunch - Our class will eat lunch from 11:40�12:10. Please feel free to join your child.
Absences and dismissals - When your child is absent, please send a note when they return telling why they were absent. If your child is going home a way that is different from his/her normal way, a note is required. If I do not receive a note, your child will go home their regular way. All walkers and car riders will be dismissed from the cafeteria.
Spirit Day - This is the last Friday of the month. This means we all wear our red Heritage shirts or red and white.
Field Trip Chaperones - We will take 2 to 3 field trips during the year. When you receive the permission slip, please send in the money as soon as possible. Parents who would like to chaperone can indicate by writing a note at the bottom of the permission slip. To make it fair, I will choose the parents out of hat. Those parents who are not chosen will be placed on a list for the next field trip. If you are unable to attend when it is your time, your name will be recycled to qualify you for the next trip. This seems to be the only fair way to handle this sometimes sticky situation. Please do not send chaperone money until you have been notified. Thank you for your understanding.
