Meet Mrs. Mathe
I grew up in a small town in Texas and moved to Delaware in 1989.  My parents are now retired and moved back.  I have one sister and she lives in Dallas, Texas.  YES, I am a Cowboys fan and yes, I will give your children a hard time if they come in wearing anything with Eagles on it, except for our school logo. :o)

I attended Wilmington University and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelors Degree in Early childhood and Elementary Education.  I later returned and received a Master's Degree in Applied Educational Technology.

I began my career as a reading teacher at Heritage Elementary in 1998.  I taught for 3 years and then I moved to California to become a nanny in the fall of 2001.  Unfortunately, that job did not work out and I returned to Heritage that following spring.  I became a long-term substitute for the music teacher and then for a third grade teacher.  Then in the fall of 2002, I was re-hired as a first grade teacher.  I taught first grade for 5 years before moving to second grade.  This is my 10th year at Heritage Elementary.

On a personal level, I have been married to my husband, Andy, for almost 2 years.  Andy works for the Delaware State Police as an Intelligence Analyst.  We dont have any children, but I am trying to get a dog.  I just have to convince Andy.  In our spare time we enjoy camping, hiking, and geocaching.
