About HLI

The Higher Learning Institute is a an innovative, informative, and fun program designed for the  middle and high school students of Williams Memorial and the surrounding community.  Established in 2002, the main objectives of this program are to use Godly principles to help youth become conscientious of his or her future and to pursue a higher education and a fulfilling career.

Through five monthly Saturday sessions and homework assignments students first discover their God-given skills and talents. Next, they begin to develop a life goal plan that capitalizes on these talents and skills. As students matriculate through the program they begin to explore more in-depth topics such as writing effective college applications, obtaining financial aid, standardized tests tips, effective time management, resume writing, interviewing skills, financial management, and much more. These Saturday sessions are also supplemented with activities such as college visits, career shadow days, senior working sessions, and parent workshops.  Overall, HLI equips students and their families with the tools and resources needed to begin achieving life goals.
