HLI has been a program that has empowered youth with information and guidance to help them make an informed decision as it relates to higher education. This program is not only rewarding for those participating but as a mentor it allows you to give back and encourage others to achieve their dreams.

HLI Experience:

This is my first year as a mentor, and I think that this is a great program from which the youth can really benefit.

Advice/Life Philosophy:

Keep GOD first. Don’t give any room for the devil to come in and try to get you off track - Always keep your eyes on GOD.

HLI Experience:

This program is more than just deciding on what college to go too. I believe the program helps students to dream beyond the four walls that are in front of them. It is a motivation support group, self- esteem builder, goal -oriented fact finder, and eye- opener wake up call. The program is designed to help nurture their dreams and to help them find  and use all available resources that are available to them.

Advice/Life Philosophy:

·  Do not be scared of your dreams and all the hard work that will be necessary to obtain what you want. If you concentrate more on pleasing God then your dreams will become realities.

· Life comes at you fast, you will have to embrace it, or it will consume you
