Introduction

Source of clean energy is one of the most important issues now days. Despite all optimizations in present technologies, they still do not offer efficient pollution reduction . The answer may be in using renewable source of energy. Most of these technologies are too expensive and therefore practically unusable by the general public.

Project aims

Our aim is to conduct a research on innovative technology for solar collectors and to produce a low cost pre-production prototype. This project will introduce a new modern heat extraction mechanism based on new concept for the collector's body. We are planning to develop a working model for solar collector system that initially will be well suited for domestic use. With further research this technology has the potential to be reused for more demanding applications.

About the innovation

The innovation is based on changing the way the solar energy is trapped in the collector. The technology will allow direct absorption of the energy into the water using sandwich of plastic lid and reflective metal sheet painted in black instead of standard metal collector. This way, energy losses will be reduced considerably because intermediary layers will be redundant. For example there will be no need for an extra insulation as the plastic will perform 2 roles: allow the penetration of the light and at the same time act as an insulator. The concept is based on recent discovery for direct energy transformation in some plastic materials.
We believe that better thermodynamic parameters can be achieved this way and theoretically this technology will prove to be very efficient.
