Earlier they both started work on the new film DAI FUN JUNG (BIG SPLIT). Although the film has been shooting in secret, both leaked some "secrets" on social media. Stephy has always liked o challenge different types of characters, but this time the production team has "stumped" her as she had to learn a lot from the beginning. "I just started a new film. This time the character is considered a big challenge, with three things that I have never or hardly ever come in contact with. I would share more with everyone later." Stephy even pointed out that the night before she just worked on the film until early morning, thus she slept until the afternoon before getting up. Although the weather was poor, she still went out for a walk and took a breath of the moist air with a slight chill. Chrissie also needed to learn new skills for this shoot and revealed that this time the character was full of conflict and its appearance would be very refreshing. Chrissie even got a new hair cut and felt much lighter. Reportedly, both were learning to bowl because in the story they were former bowling team members. Due to a variety of reasons they have become sworn enemies. Running into each other again years later, they remained at each other's throats and were constantly at odds. * (2024/03/20) The 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards would take place on the 14th next month. 5 Best New Performer nominees Sabrina Ng Bing, Rondi Chan Lok Ting, Vanora Hui Yuet Sheung, Curtis Ho Pak Lim and Yoyo Tse Wing Yan's photos were unveiled yesterday. This year child actors were again nominated, the 10 year old Chan Lok Ting, who in BAND FOUR (4 PAK 4 GA JOOK) played a genius drummer with a sincere mother and son relationship with Kay Tse On Kay; and the 12 year old Ho Pak Lim, who in TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI) played a top student with repressed emotions. This year's three other "Best New Performer" nominees were all young actresses. In SAY I DO TO ME (1 YUT FUN LAI), Sabrina Ng Bing in order to stimulate her own Youtube channel hit rate held a wedding for one. Ng Bing thoroughly displayed the characters' humor and wit, exaggerated expressions and the love to make people laugh personality. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK YUT JI HA)'s young reporter Hui Yuen Sheung had to play a rookie reporter who still had a sense of duty in her media job, hoping to uncover the truth and change the world. She even had to perform without make up in the entire film. Earlier winning the Golden Horse Award and the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Awards Best New Actor with the film FLY ME TO THE MOON (DAN YUEN YUN CHEUNG GAU), Tse Wing Yan would have a great chance at winning again. She played a young new immigrant from the mainland in Hong Kong. With a drug addict father who kept going to prison, she needed to play the complicated emotions of facing poverty and identity recognition. Best New Actor and the other 18 awards would be announced on April 14th at the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards. The Hong Kong Society for the Blind and the Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Society for the Deaf would provide audio descriptive video service and sign language translation service for the hearing impaired, visually impaired and those in need, so they would be able to enjoy the Hong Kong film industry's annual event without any obstacle and instantly comprehend the winners' experience and joy. * (2024/03/19) Louis Koo Tin Lok, Jennifer Yu Heung Ying, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Kathy Yuen (Tong Yee), Nancy Wu Ting Yan, James Ng Yip Kwan, Jacky Cai Jie, director Andrew Lau Wai Keung, Ng See Yuen, Sunny Chan Wing Sun and others two nights ago attended the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers 2024 spring banquet. It was the first spring banquet after Goo Jai became the Federation president. Goo Jai as the president of many film unions frequently attended their spring banquets as of late. He said that this would probably be this year's final spring banquet. Did he feel the difficulty of being at many places at once? He said, "No, I don't feel tired. Being the president and able to service the industry is my honor." When asked about plans to help the industry, Goo Jai said that his decision would depend on the market direction and trends. In recent years the phenomenon has been many young directors, all of whom have been very passionate. Would his company expand to the overseas market? He said, "I have always had companies in Thailand and Malaysia. (Would your film kingdom break out of Southeast Asia?) There are opportunities, one step at a time." Earlier Goo Jai was caught at the Erawan Shrine and a variety program for a web channel. He said, "I went to Thailand for work, but worked on a travel program. I tried something new, it was my first time so I felt pretty happy. It wasn't just meetings at the office, I went out and experienced the atmosphere, now shooting video is very popular." However Goo Jai said that he would not shoo more variety program, feeling that one was enough. For now he has not thought about hosting a variety program. Chan Ka Lok and Wai Sze Nga both appeared at the spring banquet. Earlier Nancy Sit Ka Yin mistook Wai Sze Nga for Ka Lok's wife Shiga Lin and congratulated her on her pregnancy. Two nights ago Wai Sze Nga pretended to be pregnancy, while Ka Lok felt her belly. Wai Sze Nga admitted that people were still constantly confusing her for Shiga. Would she change her name again? She said, "No, earlier people confused me for Wai Sze (Jill Vidal) so I changed from Wai Sze Nga to Sze Nga. Later I switched back to Wai Sze Nga, but now I still can't avoid it." Just returning from Japan, Ka Lok was all red from being in the sun. He said that he did not go on vacation but went to see a doctor. "Because my Mommy has health issues, through someone's recommendation she was seeing a Japanese doctor on televisit. However I feel face to face communication would be better, so I went with my parents to Japan. My wife's work happened to be cancelled as well, so she was able to go as well." She pointed out that Mommy's health was still fine, perhaps she knew that she would have a grandchild soon she was very happy. She even said that she wanted to raise her grandchild, but he did not want any mother in law and daughter in law dispute. In addition he did not want her to have a hard time, so he has already hired a confinement nanny, but Mommy would help. He also complained about how expensive the nanny would be. "Not a star class confinement nanny, an ordinary one would cost 70,000 and be quite in demand. From the beginning I asked six or seven and they all said that they didn't have the time." Wai Sze Nga said that her Mommy has studied being confinement nanny, Ka Lok helplessly said, "Why didn't you say that earlier!" Ka Lok revealed that his wife would be expecting in July, but at the time he would very likely not be in Hong Kong because in July or August he would have to fly to Malaysia for a movie. Thus he was very worried. In addition, Wai Sze Nga has been nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress. She said that she still has not picked out what to wear. Later she would go on vacation in Thailand and she worried that she would get tanned. Thus she would wait until she would return. Ka Lok joked that with a tan she would become "dark Sze" while his wife Shiga would become "light Sze". Wu Ting Yan said that because she took part in ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG) she was invited to the Spring banquet. She was very happy to be able to get together with filmmakers and would like even more opportunities to develop in film. He said, "My previous film was already MEN ON THE DRAGON (YIK LAU DAI SHOOK), I too want to attend more film events for everyone to get to know me. (Would you take the initiative?) I want to, because while making a series I am always in hiding, I don't know a lot of people. I have to attend more events and let everyone see me in person and communicate, not just knowing me from television series." As television Best Actress, would she mind auditioning for films? She said, "I wouldn't mind, any role that requires an audition would probably be very important. Whether on television or in film, as long as there are jobs I would field them. of course I have been accumulating a lot on television, I hope to have more opportunities in film." Since film company boss Louis Koo Tin Lok was present, would she offer her services too Goo Jai? Ting Yan pointed out that she has had contact with him at different venues, but Shaw has its movies too. First she would have to make the company's movies. She also revealed that currently she is working on the TVB series NO RETURN voice work and post production. The series would air by the end of the year. * (2024/03/19) Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Tian Niu in the film WE ARE FAMILY (CHOOK JO GA YUN) stumbled their way into becoming a "temporary couple", with Carlos Chan Ka Lok and Catherine Chau Ka Yee they formed a wonderful "half way family". One of the film's major attraction was Tian Niu and Tsang Chi Wai working together, especially Tian Niu. the previous time she appeared on the big screen was 4 years ago. Conceivably most viewers' impression of Tian Niu was still stuck on the TVB series THE JUSTICE OF LIFE (TA LOI JI GONG WU)'s comedic performance. Tian Niu in the future would like to make more comedy to repay Hong Kong viewers and make everyone happy. Tian Niu in WE ARE FAMILY appeared with an explosive landlady image. Every "argument" scene with the Tsang Chi Wai played garbage tenant was rather exciting. Later as the story turned and real emotions flowed, Tian Niu's performance even made the audience cry. In a monologue when she talked about her life, Tian Niu due to language issues was unable to handle it with Cantonese. After shooting for a whole day she still failed. Finally she asked the director for her to perform once in her native tongue and the shoot went in one take. The director finally accepted the original sound and no post production dubbing would be needed. Being able to return to Hong Kong film, Tian Niu admitted that she returned to repay Chi Wai. Chi Wai also returned the favor and said that playing a couple with Tian Niu was to repay her. Tian Niu praised Chi Wai for becoming serious as soon as he arrived on the set. In addition with his quick wit he very quickly would be able to motivate the entire team. Speaking of Chi Wai in the past was able to fall asleep instantly, but as soon as he woke up he could immediately play the role. How did he achieve this skill? Chi Wai joked, "I don't need to train, because before I fall asleep I know what's going on, when I wake up I can follow. However I know it is a bad habit. Once I was at a test screening, as soon as it began I fell asleep until the end. Actually it wasn't the screening was bad, I was really too tired. Now with the management level identity I don't dare to sleep, I am afraid that others would feel I lack a sense of responsibility." Tian Niu also praised Chi Wai for becoming matured after becoming management and had an extra sense of security. She said, "Before I didn't know what he said was real or fake, now he is calm and measured. He has the presence of a general manager. When he walks there is an air. He used to be a kid, now he finally resembles a man, haha." As for playing "mother and daughter" with Chau Ka Yee in the film, Chau Ka Yee praised her for the crying scene that gave her goose bumps. Tian Niu said, "Because I believed she was my daughter, actors needed the mutual friction to set off spark. Everyone expressed themselves with real emotions, actually she cried harder than me." Although she participated in the film as an elder, Tian Niu never put on air like one. She remembered during the shoot she even asked the director not to praise her. She explained, "Because actors need excitement and someone to teach them for them to improve. I said to the director never praise me, if I performed poorly he should call me out directly. He never treated Chau Ka Yee and Chan Ka Lok as new comers, because each time I performed I would treat myself like a new actor. I believe I still have places yet to be discovered, so I would never say quit." Speaking of her Cantonese monologue stumping her, Tian Niu said, "It was shot at a hospital set, everyone was watching the monologue and gave me even greater pressure. After couple dozen takes, from midnight to sunrise we still couldn't get one. Finally I asked the director for me to try it once in Putonghua, and finally got it in one take. The director was pleased with both the expression and the tone, and he said, 'I too want to be a couple for life'." * (2024/03/17) The Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Award Ceremony and annual banquet took place two nights ago. This year's banquet had 33 tables, attending guess included Tony Leung Chiu Wai and his wife Carina Lau Ka Ling, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Sammo Hung Kam Bo and Joyce Godenzi (Go Lai Hung), Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Johnnie To Kei Fung, Andrew Lau Wai Keung, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Raymond Lam Fung, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Jennifer Yu Heung Ying, Chung Suet Ying, Rachel Leung Yung Ting, Louise Wong Dan Nei, Niki Chow Lai Kei, Catherine Chau Ka Yi, Amy Yip Chi Mei, Angela Hui Ching Wan, Raymond Wong Ho Yin, and mainland actor Da Peng. Leung Chiu Wai was named the Directors' Guild Best Actor. He thanked To Ke Fung for inspiring him. He would head to Germany for a movie and miss the Hong Kong Film Awards. He also revealed that he and famous Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda already had plans to work together; Yu Heung Ying received the Best Actress award from Lau Ka Ling and admitted that it had special meaning. During the interview she even broke down in tears of joy. Before the banquet the annual award presentation took place to commend filmmakers' contributions of the past year. Best Film was A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG). Best Director went to Soi Cheang Pou Soi for MAD FATE (MING ONG). Tony Leung Chiu Wai with THE GOLDFINGER (GUM SAU JI) received Best Actor. Jennifer Yu Heung Ying (IN BROAD DAY (BAK YUN JI HA)) won Best Actress. Best New Actor was FLY ME TO THE MOON (DAN YUEN YUN CHEUNG GAU)'s Tse Wing Yan, TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI) director Nick Cheuk Yik Him received New Director. The Achievement award was presented to the late director Alex Law Kai Yui. The Executive Council special prize went to the film DUST TO DUST (DAI BAK GOR YIM YI YUN). Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting accepted the Achievement Award on behalf of the late director Law Kai Yui. Cheung Yuen Ting on behalf of Law Kai Yui thanked everyone who have worked with him, including every boss, actor, worker and viewers, film critics and people online who have yelled at and encouraged him. Without everyone's motivation he would not have reached this step. She also gave special thanks to the Directors' Guild for presenting this award to Law Kai Yui. "For him it is very valuable, it is the recognition, remembrance and appreciation of him from his colleagues. I would put this award at the altar at home and say to Law Kai Yui, you finally officially reached the altar!" Johnnie To Kei Fung presented the Best Actor. He joked that he did not need to open the envelope to know that it would be for Wai Jai. "I have known Wai Jai for 40 years, at the time I already knew he was strong, but I never would have guessed that he would be so amazingly strong." Leung Chiu Wai after receiving the award thanked the Directors' Guild and was even happy that he was able to receive this award from To Kei Fung. "When I got into the business my first series was THE DUKE OF MOUNT DEER, he gave a lot of inspiration. On the first day of work he already asked my look was 'like this', he indeed has inspired me a lot." To Kei Fung said, "You are the one who inspired me more!" They appeared to be very friendly and held hands as they left the stage. Wai Jai said that he was very happy to have the recognition and the encouragement, getting the award from To Kei Fung made him extra happy. "I still remember how the first day went on THE DUKE OF MOUNT DEER. To Kei Fung said my look wasn't dirty enough, because as soon as I appeared I had to look like I was from the streets. He gave me a lot of inspirations, as an actor other than performance I also had to have many ideas on appearance." Wai Jai have not worked with To Kei Fung in many years, and wanted to have the opportunity to work together again. "It also depends on fate, I don't know if we are thinking the same thing. To spend some time to live together, we have to have the same life views and values to very easily get together to make a movie." Despite reuniting after many years, Wai Jai felt not much has changed between him and To Kei Fung. When they saw each other and chatted he still felt like they were good friends, but life views and values would have to be further discussed. To Kei Fung joked that he was the one who was inspired, Wai Jai said, "People have to inspire each other, there is no more or less." The Hong Kong Film Awards would take place next month. Was he confident about winning Best Actor? He said, "It doesn't matter! I always feel it's not an award, but work and passion. How much you have contributed can't be measured by an award." He said that he put in a lot of time on making movies, and felt it was well worth the time already. Winning an award would be even better. "Of course winning an award would be the best, when you contribute a lot, after you finish you would have a sense of satisfaction." He would have to head to Germany to prepare for his foreign film on the 22nd, so he would not be able to attend the Hong Kong Film Awards. In addition famous Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda would tailor a scrpit for him. Wai Jai revealed that lst year at the Tokyo International Film Festival they met and already planned a collaboration. He only was not sure about the character and when the production would begin. Lau Ka Ling presented Best Actor on behalf of the ailing Ann Hui On Wa to Jennifer Yu Heung Ying. With the award in hand, Yu Heung Ying thanked her former co-star Lau Ka Ling for presenting the award to her. Before coming to the stage she heard the song LYRICIST SOUL, which reminded her of a lot of memories from her 9 years in the business, running into many good people and opportunities on her dream chasing journey. She gave special thanks to director Lawrence Kan Kwan Chun for believing in her, even when she got married and had a child he still trusted her and let her become a good actor. She also thanked her IN BROAD DAYLIGHT co-star John Chiang Dai Wai and declared, "I love you!" She stated, "I am very lucky, I have run into many directors for taking me to new places, I personally really trust directors. I hope to have the opportunity to work with directors here I haven't had the chance to work with, I am a new generation actor!" Yu Heung Ying was crying tears of joy when interviewed. She pointed out that she appeared calm on the stage, but actually she was so nervous that she was not able to react. "So when I got off stage and saw everyone I got very emotional, the journey so far to this step has been very wonderful, in particular getting the award from Sister Ka Ling's hand was especially meaningful. I worked with her on my second film, my role wasn't much but I was very grateful. I heard a lot of applause in the audience and felt the love for me from many people. I am very happy to be able to win with Leung Chiu Wai. I hope we would have the chance to work together." Was she confident about winning the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress? She said, "I haven't thought this far, right now I still haven't digested this yet. Tonight I would celebrate first. Last year when I came I was still pregnant and couldn't play." She said that she would not hold any special celebration, only a simple dinner with family. Best New Actor Award winner Tse Wing Yan felt very honored to have won the award. She thanked the director for taking her out of Mongkok and each actor for rehearsing with her and increasing her confidence. However during the interview, when she handed the award to the manager it slipped out of her hands and the award had a little damage. Director Nick Cheuk Yik Him with TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI) received New Director. He thanked the Directors' Guild and all the actors and the production team, especially producer Derek Yee Tung Sing for lending a helping hand when he ran into trouble, comfort when he was lost, and telling him to get lost when he got lazy. Big Brother Big Sammo Hung Kam Bo attended the Directors' Guild with a cane and his wife Joyce Godenzi (Go Lai Hung). He looked much thinner. He joked that his wife was abusing him, keeping him from eating too much -- especially carbohydrates. Hung Kam Bo said that now he still suffered from constant leg pain without any physical therapy. He did not know whether he should do the exercises or not. "I am very upset inside, I have been training in martial arts since age 9 to 50 something, now in my 70s I still have to train. Now I am only doing upper and lower lip exercises to eat." He said that he would watch movies on his free time. He saw IN BROAD DAYLIGHT and A GUILTY CONSCIENCE, and knew that Hong Kong had many more new directors. However due to the poor timing and luck they could not continue on. The Hong Kong film market climate has been very poor, for example IN BROAD DAYLIGHT received good word of mouth and box office. However making another one still had difficulty with finding investors. Even action films no longer explored new action stars. Recently someone online caught him giving money to a beggar but worried that he was swindled. Hung Kam Bo said, "He was handicapped, even if it was fake, giving him money isn't anything. I know some beggars are richer than me, I don't care. The most important is how the person is inside, getting swindled is no problem. I would let my conscience be killed." Speaking of Jackie Chan after attending an event being called old online for having a head of gray hair, Hung Kam Bo spoke up on his behalf, "Who doesn't get old, as long as he is old and healthy he is fine! Why do they make it sound so bad, people who say that won't get old because they won't have the chance to get old. People in the society now speaks irresponsibly, some people would say or do anything for their own benefit." Hui Ching Wan was a little nervous about attending her first Directors' Guild banquet. She got the chance to participate thanks to the Emperor Motion Picture WE ARE FAMILY (CHOOK JO GA YUN). Would she offer her service to directors on hand? She of course would like to meet the elders, even if they would not offer her movie roles, they could still ask her to write songs or sing theme songs. She said that she would like to challenge the mistress role the most. She has never been a third wheel, but 10 years ago a third party entering her relationship. At the time she was very heartbroken, but still struggled to save the relationship. "Now I definitely wouldn't, after the trauma from then. However it was a relationship experience, fortunately in recent years I haven't run into anything like this again." Choi Cheuk Yin ran into her kindergarten classmate Rosa Velasco (Wai Law Sa). They caught up for a little bit and took the chance to pose for photos. The Best Supporting Actress nominee Rosa was much thinner. She said that she lost weight for the award show. "I have to prepare for what I would wear at the Hong Kong Film awards, so in a month I lost 10 pounds and finally saw my waist. Even my husband has been motivated to lose weight after seeing me. Earlier I was busy with my daughter and didn't put a lot of time on work. Now she has started school, and recently I switched to a new company, so I hope to have even more and different development." Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun's 2017 promotional film was uncovered earlier and some said that both appearance and how he dressed were different from his current handsome look. Some online felt that what he wore and his hair were the problems. Later he on social media posted his fat photo and skin reaction photo in contrast. He wrote that since childhood his genes tended to make him obese. He had to watch what he ate and exercise to be able to stay in shape. Jeffrey said that he did not mind the comments, but saw that everyone got more excited the more they talked so he told the truth. He remained positive all along. Just celebrated her 47th birthday, Tse On Kay received a serenade when her husband played the guitar and sang with their daughter. A smoker of many years, Cheung Kai Chung even revealed that he would quit smoking as a birthday gift for her. Cheung Kai Chung and his wife Tse On Kay yesterday brought their daughter Cheung Ching (Kakaball) to an event. Cheung Kai Chung revealed that this was their first public event as a family of three. He said that normally events would invite their entire family, but their older sons disliked on screen work and thus they would respect and protect him. "However our daughter is a little different, she likes to perform." Cheung Kai Chung even revealed that elders would remind him to carefully handle the related jobs to keep pressure from his child. He pointed out that if his daughter in the future would not like to be on screen he would have no problem. He said that in his adolescence he too left on screen work. Nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress for the film BAND FOUR (4 PAK 4 GA JOOK), Kay said that she felt normal about the award. "Let it to fate. The other nominees are my good friends. Many people used to say actors would have a generation gap, but looking at this year's Best Actress nominations and the actresses of many different ages, I would have the chance to build up the good characters I would play. I am already very happy like this, it's a very healthy phenomenon." * (2024/03/16) The film WE ARE FAMILY (CHOOK JO GA YUN) two nights ago held a charity screening. Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Tian Niu, Catherine Chau Ka Yi, Alex Fong Lik Sun, Stephanie Che Yuen Yuen, director Benny Lau Wai Hang and star volunteer Lai Lok Yi attended. The charity screening welcomed 400 donors and raised HK$ 400,000 for the Caring for Children Foundation. Chi Wai joked that if the film's box office would reach HK$ 50 million he would "streak". WE ARE FAMILY charity screening raised HK$ 400,000. Tsang Chi Wai said that he was very happy and had to thank each donor for the support. Since the film would open soon, both Chi Wai and Tian Niu had expectations; because this film was not purely a comedy, but one that would bring out positive energy. Their performance has always made viewers cry before. Tian Niu said, "I too saw viewers cry very hard, but I cried harder than everyone!" Chi Wai said, "I wanted to cry myself, but seeing how hard she was crying next to me, I just wouldn't cry yet!" Tian Niu also pointed out that actually this movie was neither a big production nor had superstars, but all the actors worked as one to make it. It was a family movie that would be worth recommending. How would they thank the audience if the movie would have big box office success? Chi Wai joked that he would "streak". "I would bare my heart to run. This movie really is worth a watch, many friends who have seen it have called me to say it really was worth watching. I too hope to spread more positive energy, the movie's theme happened to remind everyone to be a little better to their families, and cherish time!" Tian Niu said that in the future she would stay in Hong Kong for audience appreciation events until the box office would reach HK$ 50 million. Chi Wai joked, "If it would reach HK$ 50 million, I would streak, no problem!" * (2024/03/16) The Michelle Wai Sze Nga host online food program two nights ago went online. This episode the invited guest was someone who had a "little misunderstanding" with Michelle earlier, Nancy Sit Ka Yin. Out of sincerity, Michelle asked Sister Ka Yin to dine and "settle their differences". Earlier Sister Ka Yin mistook Michelle for Carlos Chan Ka Lok's wife Shiga Lin. When they took a photo together she even congratulated her on her pregnancy, which had everyone rolling on the floor. As soon as this episode began, Michelle pretended to look serious and stared at Sister Ka Yin. "Earlier we had a little misunderstanding." Sister Ka Yin immediately congratulated Michelle again. "Wai Sze Nga, congratulations on your Best Actress nomination, haha." Michelle immediately grabbed Sister Ka Yin's hands and kissed them. "Thank you, Sister Ka Yin." Sister Ka Yin recalled, "Oops! It's really embarrassing, I even touched your belly." They proceeded to crack up. Immediately. * (2024/03/16) A PATH TO GLORY -- JIN YONG'S CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL event was unveiled yesterday. Artiss who have played Louis Cha (Jin Yong)'s characters including Ray Lui Leung Wai, Law Lok Lam, Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung, Bai Biao, Michelle Yim (Mai Suet) and Lau Tan came to salute this wuxia literature giant. Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Alex Fong Lik Sun with Louis Cha's son posed with Louis Cha's statue. Lui Leung Wai, Law Lok Lam and Lau Tan took photos with sculptures of the characters they played. Lui Leung Wai revealed that he would work with Donnie Yen Chi Tan on SAKRA 2 (TIN LUNG BAK BO 2) and played Fu Mo Pok. Chi Wai said that TVB was considering working with Tencent on making new Louis Cha wuxia series to support new comers. * (2024/03/15) The guy group MIRROR starred film WE 12 (12 GWAI TOH) would open on the 28th. They said that all 12 working together on the production was rather memorable, as they fulfilled the dream of their entire group making a movie. Earlier Edan said, "With 12 people working together at once, the production certainly had difficulties. The fight scenes in particular really had to be coordinated with a lot of detail. So the production team got 12 doubles, each with a name tag. They would perform once to test the marks before we took them. The final fight scene was very exciting. I have never shot such a long fight scene, it was 3 or 4 minutes long." Anson Lo had the most fights. He said, "Because in the film I was the most agile, but the final 3 or 4 shots I kicked too high and accidentally injured the tendon. Luckily I recovered very quickly." Captain Lokman who also had to kick gave a "display of power", as he actually kicked through the wall. "We had a set constructed for the shoot, the wall after a few kicks were fine; but by the third kick 'bang' it had a hole. After it was fixed the next day Frankie (Chan Shui Fai) kicked through it again. The director could only replace another piece of wood." Keung To played a hypnotist, what skills did he have? He joked, "I was the comfortable. Because agility wise I am not as stronger as the others, so I had a very simple gesture to hypnotize people. The director got a hypnotist to teach me." With the ability to communicate with animals, AK and the eavesdropping expert Stanley had many scenes with dogs. They said that the production was smoother than they imagined. AK said, "Before hand I worried that working with dogs would affect the progress, but it was rather smooth. Because trainers were on the set and the dogs' masters were there, they gave good commands so the shoot went very smoothly." Tiger (Yau Ngo Yin) had to move all around his co-stars. He said that lightly he was light enough, otherwise the stunt team that was holding him up would have a very tough time; responsible for "disguise" Jer (Lau Ying Ting) said, "I wore a wig to pretend to be a reporter and interview the professor. Even the director who was next to me couldn't tell. I even played a chef and other roles, it was a lot of fun." Ian (Chan Cheuk Yin) was the mastermind, which member was the hardest to control? Ian said that no one was able to control them, because when working together their schedules were very hard to accommodate. MIRROR hoped that the box office would be able to reach HK$ 30 million, then they would go live to thank the MIRROR fans. Edan was afraid of being chased to "pay the bill" by the audience and did not dare to say boast about giving away benefit for WE 12 box office success. He only said, "I would be very happy then." Other members declined and pushed, as none would dare to talk casually about benefit. Jeremy Lee Chun Kit casually said, "Then we will sing." When told that was not innovative, he joked, "We get Mr. Lo (boss Lo Ting Fai) to dance, because he gets the most benefit." Lokman said that a sequel or a spin off would be the best, they could go overseas and shoot like in Europe and other places. * (2024/03/15) Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Korean popular guy group SHINee member Minho and Thai star Dew Jirawat yesterday appeared at a French jewelry brand specialty store opening. Ah Sa's new film with Sean Lau Ching Wan originally was scheduled to start production this month, but due to script changes it has been postponed. Ah Sa revealed that in May she would begin work on the film DETECTIVE VS. SLEUTHS 2 (SUN TAM DAI JIN 2), so she wanted to go on vacation with what little free time she had in April. She said that she saw the half price flight discount and wanted to go to Europe. She said, "Mr. Wai likes to write and change again in order to make the movie its best, so the original start date of March has now been changed to May. I am afraid that it would change again. luckily later the tour dates have already been scheduled." * (2024/03/15) The film FLY ME TO THE MOON (DAN YUEN YUN CHEUNG GAU)'s producer Stanley Kwan Kam Peng and director Sasha Chuk Chi Ngan, and DUST TO DUST (DAI BAK GOR YIM YI YUN)'s producer Soi Cheang Pou Soi and director Jonathan Li Tsz Chung yesterday attended a Hong Kong International Film and Television Market forum to share their experience. Starting in the business in the 70s, Kwan Kam Peng said that that was the era of film. After graduating from TVB training class he joined the film division as a production assistant and an assistant screenwriter. Then he became the assistant film director and learned from many big directors. He admitted that now the film climate has changed a lot. He even felt that he had to be grateful to be able to experience the 80s and the 80s full bloom for film, when resources were ample; now the financing sources for new directors would very likely be from government assistance. Actually the government has provided a lot of financing. Kwan Kam Peng also pointed out that in recent years many films were able to be promoted overseas, like ALL SHALL BE WELL (CHUNG GUM YI HAU) after winning the Teddy Award at the Berlin Film Festival returning to Hong Kong to be its film festival opening film. However many channels would be required in the middle. Kwan Kam Peng was asked why he would be willing to be the producer to new directors? He pointed out that earlier he produced Vicki Zhao Wei's film SO YOUNG because the story moved him. He agreed to produce director Sasha Chuk Chi Ngan's FLY ME TO THE MOON (DAN YUEN YUN CHEUNG GAU) because he appreciated her short films. Kwan Km Peng said that the producer should always stand on the director's side and provide suggestions, including character entrances and exits, and interaction between characters so they would easily leave an impression with the audience. However he would only make suggestions to the directors and not demand them to follow his ideas. He hoped that the government would promote new directors' films even further, bring more attention to them so new directors would not become an "one film director". As a new generation director Li Tsz Chun also agreed that sometimes investors would provide casting suggestions, but if he did not feel any feeling, how could they work together? This time would be for the producer to "block". He also had to ask the producer some questions. When he made DUST TO DUST (DAI BAK GOR YIM YI YUN), producer Soi Cheang Pou Soi helped him a lot. Starting in the film industry at age 19, Cheang Pou Soi after 33 years has already produced new directors' movies 5 times. He humbly said that he could not claim to have any advice, but he would tell himself that the director was the most important. He would try not to start from his own angle, but standing on the director's side to make suggestions. In addition, the host said that Kwan Kam Peng has been described as the industry soul adjuster. Kwan Kam Peng joked that he did not know how this title came about, perhaps when he made movies he had coordination from Chow Yun Fat, Cherie Chung Chor Hung, Maggie Cheung Man Yuk and others. With Tony Leung Chiu Wai they would not only discuss characters but also personal affair. He felt that artists and workers both had to have sincere and honest communication, and establish trust, but he never thought about wanting to be a soul adjuster. He only felt that all of these were very important to being either the director or the producer. * (2024/03/14) The Federation of the Hong Kong Filmmakers released first season of "Keep Rolling Keep Running" project's second selection THE SIN OF UNFORGIVENESS (BUT SEH JI JUI) earlier started production. Producer Jacqueline Liu Yuen Hung, Director Lam Sin, director and screen writer Tam Sin Yeung, actors Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Louisa So Yuk Wa, George Au Chun King @ P1X3L, Summer Chan Chi Huen and Sheena Chan Shu Yan attended the production start ceremony. The film's story revolved around three characters, including the Chau Sun played preacher, the So Yuk Wa played victim's mother, and the George played young rape inmate. The actors all commended the outstanding script. Making his silver screen debut, George was of course nervous in front of the elders. "In the past half year I have watched many different movies and absorbed how to perform. When I thought about making it happen I realized, hey, that's not right. Because Brother Chau Sun has tried to help me with shaking off my performance restrictions, every night when I got back I would thought about every scene I played. I seemed to have get acting more." * (2024/03/13) Raymond Lam Fung, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Terrance Lau Chun Him, German Cheung Man Kit, Tony Wu Tsz Tung and others two days ago went to the Hong Kong International Film and Television 2024 to promote their film TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI WAI SING). With a lot of action scenes in the film, Lam Fung pointed out that he trained for a month before the shoot. Everyday on the set he stretched continuously and said that the production was tough. "Everyday on the set I was wowed, because they built a Kowloon Walled City. It truly was amazing!" Wu Tsz Tung during the shoot received 14 stitches on his chin. He in order to avoid hindering progress immediately returned to the set after getting the stitches. Lau Chun Him pointed out that one day they shot fight scenes for 24 hours straight and almost collapsed.
