MISCELLANEOUS * (2024/01/24) The 58 year old "Ghost King director" Danny Pang Fat at the end of last year was revealed that due to his wife's end stage lung cancer, he desperately needed money for the medical cost but had no proof of stable income. So he had to borrow from second tier money lenders, owing nearly HK$ 2 million without any ability to pay it back. Thus he filed for bankruptcy. After the incident has been widely reported, Pang Fat has described as the "wife saving hero". A production company "approached" him bout working together and even provided 7 figures for him to handle the emergency. In the end before the "deadline" Pang Fat cancelled the bankruptcy application with the court. Pang Fat yesterday morning around 9 AM already appeared at the Admiralty Superior Court, after court he went through a simple process and completed the related procedures. When leaving the court he revealed that two days ago the Official Receiver's Office notified him that his bankruptcy application has been cancelled. Speaking of debt arrangement issues, he simply said, "I would take care of it, later I would explain on social media. Right own the company doesn't want to say too much, everyone please understanding." As for his wife's condition, he said, "She's fighting, 50/50. (How are you feeling?) I still have to face it, that's life." Francis Ng Chun Yu and Eddie Cheung Siu Fai's wife have offered money to help before. Pang Fat sad, "Yes! I want to thank them. People in the business have approached me with projects to work together on, there really is love in the world! (Has the financial company approached you again?) No!" Then he posted on social media and thanked everyone's support and concern for him over the past month. "In regards to earlier news reports about me getting everyone's concern and love, I deeply feel there is love in the world. I would very soon have a collaboration project that would be able to immediately resolve my current problems, and even earlier rescinded the bankruptcy application. Thus I can focus on work and taking care of my wife." Pang Fat admitted, "Last month's report had particular strong response in the mainland. Even the official media have covered it and described me as 'wife saving hero'. Many people praised me. The next time Universe Film's (Alvin) Lam Siu Keung called and said that two major mainland film production companies wanted to work with me. Before making the film I could work as a producer and editor first. I handed over a script for them to approve. I couldn't believe that everything would be taken care of in a month." * (2024/01/24) The Derek Kwok Chi Kin directed, Andy Lau Tak Wa produced and starred, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung starred and action directed Emperor Motion Picture THE UNLEASHED BLAZE (NO FOR MAN YIN), with a special performance by Michael Hui Koon Man, also starred Ci Sha, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, Ray Lui Leung Wai, Chan Kwok Bong, Ken Wong Tak Bun and Sammy Sum Chun Hin. The team has been in intense production. Always with a passion for film, music heavenly queen Joey Yung Cho Yi paid a surprise visit to the set with Emperor Group chief Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Sing. Witnessing the production process in person, she had eye opening experience. On the set, Joey watched a highly difficult action scene and could not help but be repeatedly "wowed". Dr. Yeung saw how into it she was quietly revealed to her that an even more exciting fight scene between Lau Tak Wa and Tse Ting Fung would be shot later. Joey immediately asked when it would start production as she wanted to visit the set again. Joey said, "The boss says that I haven't seen Ting Fung in a very longtime. I didn't even know I could actually come to the set, because I was afraid of affecting the shoot." After the rare occasion of watching an action scene, would Joey be itching to make an action film too? She immediately answered, "That's good!" However Dr. Yeung joked, "Don't mess round!" Joey said that if she would have the opportunity, she would gladly sing the movie theme song. Before she could finish saying what she was saying, Ting Fung immediately appeared. Joey and Ting Fung have not seen each other for awhile. They first gave each other a hug and took the opportunity to chat. Ting Fung also showed her the production stills; later Lau Tak Wa arrived and Joey like a fan greeted the idol, after a few words she did not dare to disturb the production further. Looking at the production environment, Joey said, "Earlier I have been to this studio to shoot a commercial, but this time I really see how big the studio actually is and even this grand set could be constructed here." After staying for about a hour, the team prepared for lunch. Joey then bid everyone farewell. As Joey left, Ting Fung even asked her to join them for a meal and experience the production team life. * (2024/01/23) The 2024 Lunar New Year film ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG) would open on February 9th (Lunar New Year's Eve). In the latest poster, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing with weapon in hand departs in a cute version taxi with Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) against a group of thieves and robbers and celebrate the Lunar New Year with the audience. The three leads earlier suddenly had the idea of creating a shoot the bad guy game. Ka Tung picked up a toy gun and shot at plastic cups with the villains from the film on them, but he seemed to lack any shooting talent. Aaron had to personally demonstrate how to use the toy gun. Siu Chai was in character and lamented that he did not know how. When Ka Tung got it and could not miss, Aaron gave him for a doll as encouragement. However just like the character in the film, Aaron demanded for him to say "thank you" after accepting the gift. After a round of struggle finally Ka Tung submitted and said thank you. Of course all of the above were from their advanced Lunar New Year greeting parody video. Ka Tung had ample experience from gun fight scenes. In reality on the set he could almost become the gun instructor. Many actors have asked him for shooting and stance advice. Ka Tung pointed out that this time ROB N ROLL was a fresh comedy subject. Not only was it a dark comedy, it also focused on telling the pain of men. He said, "This time Siu Chai, Sing Sing and I in ROB N ROLL played 3 middle aged men who were facing difficult issues." Playing the role "Lap Shui", Ka Tung said, "This term is pretty interesting, describing the chicken and the coward. When we reach a certain age, we know what we are capable of. Often when we have less and less courage and don't dare to take risks, people would describe that as 'lap shui' because they have too many burdens. Actually it's the portrait of many people." Lo Hoi Pang in the film played Ka Tung's Papa. Ka Tung inevitably would be "greeted" by Papa. Ka Tung joked, "I have worked with Brother Pang a long times. He truly has the presence of Papa. He would 'greet' his son each time he would lecture him. Actually when I see him I am happy, the more he greets me the happier I get; because it means he has fire. That type of impact is truly love and hate, usually father and son are like this. This is his style, since we aren't at his age yet we might not necessarily understand it so deeply. He would make suggestions and the results are very decent." As for how he faced Brother Pang's "greeting", Ka Tung joked, "I opened my heart and let him greet me, but I have talked back before. Instead he backed off. Actually he doesn't like to be confrontational, he just want to have a clearer answer." Ka Tung this time worked with Nancy Wu Ting Yan for the first time. She played his pregnant wife. Ka Tung felt that the collaboration was interesting as it went on. As for working with Siu Chai and Sing Sing, he was also very excited. "I work with Sing Sing a lot so we already have chemistry. With Siu Jai it's been six or seven years. Not only did I look forward to it, but we were also surprisingly compatible. Siu Chai and I everyday would have a lot of fun on the set. We didn't just treat everyone, we would also coordinate with each other on the characters' demands. He would follow along with how I perform, we would improvise together. It was a very fun process. I hope in the future we would have the chance to work together again." * (2024/01/23) Having been called the most perfect classic team of Hong Kong film, Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Andy Lau Tak Wa after 20 years reunited again for the film THE GOLDFINGER (GUM SAU JI), but due to the limited space in the film, the two Best Actors' scenes were forced to be cut just as the same. One of the valuable confidential footage was unveiled -- the scene between Wai Jai and Wa Jai in a hospital room. In this scene Wai Jai was arrested for the first time by Wa Jai, who played the Independent Commission Against Corruption supervisor. Yet once at the ICAC, Wai Jai fainted and hindered the investigation progress by claiming illness. He even moved from the office to a hospital room, boldly smoking cigars and drinking fine wine in an extremely arrogant manner. The short scene thoroughly depicted Wai Jai's wild tyranny and Wa Jai's stubbornness. Whether in terms of exchanges of tone, pace, looks and other aspects, they all showed extreme chemistry in light strokes. No wonder director Felix Chong Man Keung said, "Watching Wai Jai and Wa Jai act is truly an enjoyment that pleased the eyes and the heart." Wai Jai said, "Wa Jai indeed is my good partner. He is professional, full of experience, and diligent. Such a good partner, where would I be able to find another?" Wai Jai analyzed that his chemistry with Wa Jai has long been built from the age of making series together in television. After years of exchanges, their compatibility and trust are unbreakable. Wai Jai added, "Each time I run into Wa Jai, we would always have new impact. Even without much rehearsal before taking our marks, whatever I play on the set, he would always have a way to follow. This is chemistry." Reuniting after 20 years, Wa Jai felt that both he and Wai Jai have matured a lot and more able to coordinate with each other's performance. "I just chatted with Wai Jai. After so many years, we both have become matured. Just like before with (Sean) Lau Ching Wan, we too haven't worked together in a very long time and the freshness still remained; everyday working on THE GOLDFINGER, facing Wai Jai would always feel fresh. Just like when we worked on DUKE OF MOUNT DEER, the very refreshing flavor, the purest performance, I would also respond to Wai Jai with very fresh performance." * (2024/01/21) The Andy Lau Tak Wa produced and starred, Jason Kwan Chi Yiu directed, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Eddie Peng Yu-Yan, Cya Liu starred crime action film I DID IT MY WAY (CHIM HUNG) has already entered its second week in Hong Kong. As of January 19th, the film after 9 days accumulated close to HK$ 10 million. Two nights ago Wa Jai after the opening day went to three shows and appeared again at cinemas for audience appreciation events. Not only did he surprise the audience, he also snuck into the audience to observe the audience's reaction in close distance. When viewers caught Wa Jai, not only did they feel surprised but also cheered. A 10 year old fan even went with Daddy and Mommy. Wa Jai smiled and said, "I would keep making movies, I hope your grandchildren would come then too." Wa Jai also fulfilled everyone's request and took a group photo with the entire audience and thanked everyone for their support. Speaking of the fans' passionate response, at his second audience appreciation event Wa Jai said that he was very happy. "I really haven't been in Hong Kong to be able to watch my own movie from release to its second week for a very long time, so I deliberately went to the cinema to experience the live atmosphere. For one show I even sat in the last row to experience the response of them watching the film to the very end. I saw how good the response was and I was very happy myself." Wa Jai stated that the last time he had a similar experience was already many years ago. "Only with late shows before, even in the 90s, and especially after 2000 I very rarely would really sit at the show. I would go to premieres; but when I really see the everyday audience's reaction, that feeling is very different." As the producer as well, Wa Jai of course cared about everyone's reviews. From fans he learned that everyone praised the film's use of AI technology on the newborn baby. Its appearance and acting were rather realistic. Some also praised the film's action scenes as exciting, Wa Jai credited action director Chin Kar Lok. "I hope in the future action films with drama flavor would become more and more, and would be able to have action scenes like the ones Chin Kar Lok designed. So whether with gun fights or action, I hope they would be closer to the story." Wa Jai also admitted that he wanted to take more time to participate in audience appreciation events. * (2024/01/21) Music diva Joey Yung Cho Yi put her concert on the big screen, as soon as they went on sale all 10 shows were sold out. The response was rather enthusiastic! Joey two days go ran all over Hong Kong and Kowloon for audience appreciation shows, and joked that Emperor boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing referred to her as "box office guarantee". She humbly said that she was box office poison, but was able to make the cinemas "full house". It was a great memory! Yung Cho Yi put her concert MY SECRET LIVE: ANOTHER SIDE on the big screen. With such a passionate response, she made a special announcement that next week more shows would be added, not only in Hong Kong but in Macau as well; so friends who were unable to get tickets would be able to enjoy this performance. To thank the audience for its support, Joey two days ago with director Kearen Pang Sau Wai started from 4PM to 11PM ran to 8 shows in Kowloon and Hong Kong. They made the audience very happy, and viewers were rather excited and into it. Many fans followed Joey's call and all wore in "bling bling dress code". Inside the cinemas a sea of light and singing in unison often happened, just like the large scale concert. Joey was very touched. Each show's viewers had a lot of fun, crying and laughing and screaming. Some viewers deliberately made the trip from South Africa, England, Canada and other places to watch this film version. Viewers shared their experience afterward and some tearfully thanked Joey for her songs that encouraged them to bravely face what was ahead during the pandemic. Most had nothing but praise and hoped that with the added show to be able to watch a few more times. A male viewer said, "During the pandemic everyone was very down, thank you for 'the show must go on' and upload concert videos to YouTube. Everyday I have been here listening to your songs again. Later your TOKYO LIFE INSURANCE also appeared during the pandemic, which gave me a lot of energy to tough it out. Thank you very much." Another viewer said that actually he has already seen this concert at the Academy of Performing Arts. Each time he would be moved to tears, but today at the cinema he cried much worse than at the Academy of Performing Arts. Joey was very surprised and asked, "Why?" The viewer answered, "Because your songs can scoop people up from the abyss, thank you." The audience cheered and applauded. Many viewers said in the film, Joey shared her friends with her classmate "Fat Ma" and they were very touched. No matter how many times they watched they would be moved to tears. Moving her concert to the big screen, Joey said that it felt like a dream and was excited. "The IMAX screen is enormous, it's the first time I see such a super gigantic me. Magnified 100 times, I really have ot thank my Mommy because I couldn't see my pores, haha. Although I watched the cut many times, and earlier I watched it at the movies myself; watching it again today I realized that on such a big screen really nothing could hide. I saw many details only today, like my sweating, how the back of my clothes is all wet...I saw myself pouring my heart into singing and performing every song, I didn't disappoint the audiences of 34 shows. I really want to praise myself a little. (Some viewers say they are waiting for you to be nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress with this film) Boss Yeung Sau Sing joked that I am now a box office guarantee, not box office poison, haha! I don't dare to force this; this box office poison can make a cinema full house. I can already write that into my life chronicle. It's a very good memory! If I would be nominated I would be happy, as I can try walking the Hong Kong Film Awards red carpet, haha!" A fan asked Joey when she would perform another concert. Joey revealed that later she would perform in Macau, in 2025 she would have a large scale concert project. Joey's Mama, little brother two nights ago came to show their support as well. Joey's Mama even said that watching on the screen felt very happy and safe, while little brother held up his daughter to greet her aunt in a rather cute way -- like in the movie THE LION KING. * (2024/01/21) Hong Kong first adult video actress Erena So Hoi Lam yesterday was a judge at the film DUE WEST 2 (YUT LO HEUNG SAI 2 DONG GAING AV GUNG LEUK)'s audition ceremony. Candidates have lined up outside the door early on. They included models from Taiwan. So Hoi Lam said that she liked mild mannered men with glasses. "Height doesn't matter, just not too thin. (Muscles?) I don't like that, having a little belly instead is OK." She also said that the film definitely would have nude scenes. "There would be nudity, but I don't know whether it would be full nudity." Did she like Japanese or Hong Kong men? She said, "Definitely Hong Kong, because we can communicate." Among the candidates, Taiwan model Kelly Chang said that someone recommended her. Was she worried about the nude scenes in the film? She said, "I haven't thought about this question, I don't know whether nudity would be required." * (2024/01/21) Best Actor Aaron Kwok Fu Sing earlier went to promote his new film in the mainland and revealed that he went into a fit while dubbing for a film. He was mad because he could not learn Vietnamese, but in the end he persisted and was able to successfully complete the dubbing. Kwok Fu Sing, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) and Maggie Cheung Ho Yi earlier promoted their film ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG) in the mainland. Sing Sing shared his production experience with the audience. Always known for not having any temper, Sing Sing once threw a tantrum while dubbing for the film. He said, "In the film I had to speak Vietnamese. The film company hired a tutor for me, but I really went crazy from the dubbing. This language was ten times harder than Mandarin, I really couldn't dub it. So that day I got very mad at myself. (In the end did you get it?) Yes, because after the tantrum and calming down, I slowly tried again and finally was able to dub it." Despite the hardship he still persisted on completely the dubbing work, Sing Sing's professionalism received the applause of many viewers. Sing Sing immediately "advertised" and asked everyone to remember to bring friends to support the new film. Due to the tight schedule, everyone could only stay for a short film at different places. However Sing Sing was still full of energy. While taking the elevator he remembered to make the wall climbing pose from the film. He, Siu Chai, and Ka Tung had such great chemistry that they followed right away. Perhaps the time was too short, some said that Cheung Ho Yi during the promotion looked upset and made faces. They even captured photos as proof, but many viewers clarified for her and said that Ho Yi was very friendly the entire time. When she saw viewers and fans she would greet them and responded right away. Only when she was walking or waiting she would not deliberately smile, which led to the expressionless captured photo. * (2024/01/24) The "Basketball Goddess" Mandy Tam Man Huen starred film LOVE AT FIRST LIE (BUT SI NEI BUT OI NEI) went into production in August last year, when it wrapped up the production actually ran into an "once in 500 years" black rain of the century. In the story after the male lead Edward Chen learned that he had cancer, he was deeply afraid of hurting his girlfriend Mandy. He decided to keep the news from her and pretend to get back together with his ex Anjaylia Chan Ka Bo, in hopes that his girlfriend would move on. As soon as the team started working the storm kicked up, making the completely soaked and crying on her knees Mandy got even more into her performance. She said, "The rain got me wet and a little cold, I was shivering a little and felt pitiful. During the shoot, when I cried the sky cried with me, completing this film's production in a very dramatic fashion." Then the director yelled wrap and everyone opened bottles of champagne to celebrate and wish for box office success. * (2024/01/21) The Chung Suet Ying starred new film THE WANNABE LYRICIST (TIN CHI L) would open in March. Director Norris Wong Yi Lam earlier attended a screening and stated that Chung Suet Ying was the only choice for the lead. "She meets all the requirements for the character. When work began she immersed her own experience from her lyricist journey into it and elevated this character." Chung Suet Ying also admitted, "I have never tried to play the female lead. This time I am even performing with so many active lyricists, communication wise we can particularly relate." * (2024/01/20) Stephy Tang Lai Yan, Simon Yam Tat Wa, Mimi Kung Chi Yan and others starred new film HUNG DAU (RED BEAN) yesterday held its production start ceremony. Playing a father who was chauvinistic in the film, Yam Tat Wa made daughter Stephy felt neglected. She often argued with her slacker "little brother" Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, and joked that she wanted to ask the director to add a scene to slap him. During the interview a butterfly frightened Ngai Chun Sun into taking a few steps back. Stephy "shoo" it away then pretended to hit him. Playing the boyfriend, Kevin Chu Kam Yin might ask to add scenes when the mood struck and joked that he had "action scenes" added before. Chu Kam Yin was not nervous about working with the goddess for the first time, and praised her for bringing him into character. Brother Wa said that he and Kung Chi Yan have worked together before on television and in movies. Yam Tat Wa this time let go of his handsome image to bring the Tongsui shop boss to life. He had an expert teaching him how to make Tongsui, which he joked that filled his whole body with the scent of red beans. This time in order to play this tongsui shop boss well, he even learned to fry red beans and discovered that the process was actually very complicated. He also said that he would bring the red bean soup home for his wife Qi Qi; but because she was from Shanghai, he would add her favorite Tangyuan into it so she would be able to try his cooking. Kung Chi Yan revealed that Qi Qi often made soup for Brother Wa to bring to the set and commended Brother Wa for loving his wife on and off camera. In the film he would not let her carry anything heavy, on the streets he would stand in front to protect her. She also complimented Brother Wa was great with cooking and sports and "everything"! Brother Wa also said that because he has been in the kitchen since he was little, cutting the chenpi slices in the film was not difficult for him. Speaking of his horse winning a race earlier as the dark horse and won over a million dollar in prize after overcoming 1:47 odds, he said that he was teaching Stephy how to cook red beans that day and did not place a bet. He joked, "Those red beans are pretty expensive, but it doesn't matter, I wish everyone good luck always! (Would you be afraid that you missed out?) No, if it happens it happens. That day although I didn't win money I still treated everyone, and I learned to buy the whole meal (betting on horses)." Playing the tongsui shop heir, Jeffrey revealed that the character was not what he seemed. Inside he really loved his family but he did not show it, he specialized in having fun but would not help with the shop; instead Chu Kam Yin in the film in order to win over his girlfriend would help around the shop. * (2024/01/20) "Basketball Goddess" Mandy Tam Man Huen and Taiwan god Edward Chen in the film LOVE AT FIRST LIE (BUT SI NEI BUT OI NEI) played a couple. The romantic basketball court kiss scene became a classic scene in the film. They shot it 8 times before the director accepted a take. Mandy said that at first she was very nervous. Edward Chen admitted that in the past his kiss scenes would only take one or two takes, so it was the first time that it took so long. * (2024/01/19) Before the film Spring Festival slot heated up, Hong Kong films continued to "serve upsized dishes". Many mainland viewers lamented that in a few short twenty some days, out went Andy Lau Tak Wa left and in came Tony Leung Chiu Wai. Currently, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing went from Beijing to Hangzhou to return to the Greater Bay Area for his new film release. Kwok Fu Sing, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Maggie Cheung Ho Yee, Lam Suet and director Albert Mak Kai Kwong last night appeared at a ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG) Guangzhou after screening exchange. As soon as they appeared, Guangzhou viewers asked the team for the classic robber line, "Say thank you!" The team complied and each used their characters' personalities and tone to "say thank you" to everyone. Throughout the entire exchange, "say thank you", "sorry" never ended, as the audience and the team created a hot social trend with Hong Kong dark humor. The film ROB N ROLL became one of the mainland's hot topic because of Kwok Fu Sing's "first time playing ugly". A viewer gave the team a comic book drawing of the characters in the film. Kwok Fu Sing discovered that he was drawn very handsomely, without the unique ugliness from the film. The viewers gave an answer with high emotional quotient, "I captured your handsomeness from the film, which I magnified a little." Seeing that the viewer was nervous, Kwok Fu Sing lightly said, "Just call me Sing Sing, this way is more familiar." The result worked right way as the viewer played coy and wanted sing Sing to seriously "say thank you" to him. Sing Sing quickly complied. Sing Sing said, "Playing ugly is a very fresh experience, this time I played a different armed robber. When I got the script at first a bucktooth image appeared in my mind, smiling at me and saying thank you." Sing Sing also revealed that this bucktooth design privately received condemnation from Lam Ka Tung and Yam Yin Chai. Actually, Sing Sing while acting would accidentally spat on them or spat out the false teeth. Sing Sing helplessly said, "Because when I spoke too fast the buckteeth would fly out." Lam Ka Tung lately kept appearing in Guangzhou with new films. Viewers shared their experience after watching the film with him, lamented the difficulty of ordinary people and commended Lam Ka Tung on his performance. Lam ka Tung also turned into a big brother and encouraged young viewers that in life not everyone would go their way. Everyone would have very difficult times, slowly crawl and improve in society, but they would always gain something. Yam Yin Chai on the other hand has not met with Guangzhou viewers for awhile. His fan of 20 years rushed over, wrote a review on the spot and read it to Siu Chai. Yam Yin Chi bashfully said that making a movie well was the duty of every actor. This time he was able to work with his Hong Kong friends in an absurd yet still realistic way, and had a lot of fun that he has missed for a long time. "In the film Lam Ka Tung kept taking advantage of me, off screen I took advantage of him. He constantly took me to dinner." Siu Chai said, this was a Hong Kong comedy and fantasy for the little people; the type of not knowing whether to laugh or to cry from not being good enough to be a good person, but not bad enough to be a bad guy. He took sent his New Year blessing and looked forward to everyone still being happy after watching the film. Director Mak Kai Kwong had a lot that he wanted to say when he returned to the Greater Bay Area tour venue. Mak Kai Kwong got emotional when he thanked everyone for giving him two minutes to properly thank the two screenwriting friends who have been by his side for the pst three years. * (2024/01/19) Gigi Leung Wing Kei two nights ago in Mongkok attended the film SEUNG BOON CHEUNG (FIRST HALF)'s launch ceremony. A group of children who participated in a charity soccer program and film audition also attended. At the launch ceremony, the children gave their favorite soccer ball to Gigi to thank Gigi for take the role in the film. Gigi said that the film would shoot around July or August because it would have to accommodate the children's summer vacation. Gigi said that she took the role because the film said that aside from having dreams, helping others to fulfill their dreams would be even more meaningful and positive. Gigi also pointed out that she was in the second half of her life, while the children were in their first half. They had many dreams, unfortunately due to financial abilities they had no way to chase them. In the film she would help them fulfill their dreams. Gig hoped to encourage even more people to exercise, because the World Health Organization encouraged children and adolescence to exercise for at least a hour a day. Her daughter Sofia after school would play at the park for awhile before doing her homework. She thought play was truly very important. "When I was little I liked to play too. You can play while learning, make the brain more active. The WHO said that it could prevent chronic illness, depression and mental health issues. Young people's mental health problems should not be overlooked. Learning is lifelong, don't force yourself to do it in those several years. Mental health would be more important." Speaking of her passion for soccer, Gigi admitted that hers probably would not be considered as great but she would watch with her Spaniard husband. Her favorite player was Messi. She knew that he would come to Hong Kong in February to play against the Hong Kong soccer team. She and her husband both wanted to catch a glimpse of Messi. Has her husband asked her to get tickets? Gigi said that she was working on it. "My husband has lived in Barcelona, at the time he would always go to the stadium to watch matches. Since he came to Hong Kong over a decade ago he no longer had the opportunity to watch again. He watched Messi transfer, now he finally would come to compete in Hong Kong. I too hope to be able to help him fulfill the dream." In addition, Gigi revealed that in March or April she would continue her concert tour in Macau and Taiwan. After that she would begin work in July. * (2024/01/19) The Stephen Chow Sing Chi, Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing, Maggie Cheung Man Yuk starred comedy film ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL (GA YAU HEI SI) showed Chow Sing Ch's nonsensical improvisation talent. Director Clifton Ko Chi Sum personally produced and edited ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 4K digitally restored extended edition would return to the big screen in Taiwan. The 1992 edition ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL (GA YAU HEI SI) was about three brothers' romantic and family relationships. The story was hilarious and warm, even reached HK$ 48.99 million at the box office. Executive producer and one of the lead actors Wong Pak Ming learned of the film's upcoming Taiwan release and sentimentally responded, "This movie is able to become a classic and everyone's memory, I truly am very grateful." In one scene Chow Sing Chi was cheating with Loletta Lee Lai Chun, when his girlfriend Cheung Man yuk almost caught them. The script originally had Chow Sing Chi and Lee Lai Chun fall from the window to the ground. On their way down they suddenly discovered Cheung Man Yuk was below, so before landing he pushed Lee Lai Chun back into the house. This "push" was Chow Sing Chi improvised. Wong Pak Ming recalled, at first when Chow Sing Chi told him about it he thought it was too nonsensical. Other people definitely would not have been able to perform it, but Chow Sing Chi's interpretation was very reasonable. "Because everyone have already accepted that Chow Sing Ch was nonsensical." Wong Pak Ming said that Chow Sing Chi truly interpreted very well. "For example his disorder was his personal performance, or playing drinking games with his own feet, he improvised all that." With the help of Chow Sing Chi's comedic performance, the film after its release blew up and still remained memorable. * (2024/01/19) Louis Koo Tin Lok two nights ago wore a HK$ 2.8 million watch that was the only one in the world to attend a watch and jewelry specialty store opening. He said that he used to like to collect watches, especially ones that were connected to animation. However as more and more were released he no longer purchased them. Now he even stopped buying figures and toys that he liked, because the film companies after the movies left the cinemas would send him the related promotional props. Goo Jai said that now he has been collecting figures with faces, like ones with masks or robots; because too many have been stored at the storage, if they had faces they would indeed be pretty scared. He even said that earlier a colleague went to the storage and said that it was a little frightening. Luckily no one has been scared out of their wits. Earlier when Goo Jai held his toys at home Mama was also scared. He said that now he would not put them at home and said that he would stay in Hong Kong in the Lunar New Year to be with his family more. Speaking of his Lunar New Year film years ago, FAT CHOI SPIRIT (LEK GU LEK GU SUN NIN CHOI) would he play mahjong with family and friends? Goo Jai said, "Actually my whole family doesn't play, even when making the movie I only relied on memorizing. Sometimes when I hear the neighbors play the tiles I would feel pretty warm. However if I have to sit for several hours to play, I feel like it's a little waste of time." Goo Jai could learn to play and see people's character on the table. He joked, "I believe that, but after so many years of being relatives, if I only see their characters now I am done for." Jennifer Yu Heung Yin with the film IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK YUN JI HA) received the Film Critic Society Award Best Actress. Goo Jai was happy about the film winning an award, hoped that the film would perform well again at the Hong Kong Film Awards, and revealed that after Yu Heung Ying has her children settled they would have a big celebration. In addition, Koo Tin Lok earlier enjoyed Stephanie Che Yuen Yuen's first solo concert and even stayed for the whole show -- much to the surprise of Yuen Yuen. He explained, "Yuen Yuen and I got into the business around the same time, and were at the Capital Artists Records together. Back then we had common friends and would play together, so I have to show my support. In addition at her birthday earlier I celebrated with her too." Did Goo Jai feel the itch to sing again? He shook his head and said no. * (2024/01/19) Ron Ng Cheuk Hei, Edward Ma Chi Wai and Justin Cheung Kin Sing starred film CRYPTO STORM (FAN TAM FUNG BO ji GA MUK NGAI GEI) would open on the 25th. Ron and Cheung Kin Sing have already worked together for the three time. He joked that they have seen each other too many. "I don't want to mention this person again!" Ma Chi Wai and Cheung Kin Sing played brothers. During the storm they ran into a typhoon, for the story they jumped into the sea multiple times. * (2024/01/19) Mandy Tam Man Huen two nights ago attended her film LOVE AT FIRST LIE (BUT SI NEI BUT OI NEI)'s premiere. Mandy said that the most memorable part of her first staring role as the kiss scene with lead actor Edward Chen. She said that they had to accommodate angles, otherwise their noses would be mashed together. Did she tell her boyfriend about the scene in advance? She said, "I have mentioned it, but he understands very much that I am in this business. So he is very supportive of me." * (2024/01/18) Over the years in the business, the characters Ben Lam Kwok Bun has played were mostly big villains and bad guys; but this time in the film LOVE AT FIRST LIE (BUT SI NEI BUT OI NEI) he challenged playing Papa for the first time. He played father and son with lead actor Edward Chen. Lam Kwok Bun said, "This time I played someone's old man, which I have never played before. I neither needed to fight nor played a mobster. I am very tired of my characters before, I don't want to make them anymore. This time was a new attempt. It was comfortable so I took it. My character wasn't considered a very kind Papa. Because he was widowed, he has thought about finding another wife; but his son strongly objected and did a lot of rebellious behavior. Actually there was no right or wrong. I wanted to have my new life, but he also really missed Ma. He felt that I caused her death, so he hated me very much." Although the relationship seemed to have no room left to turn, but because Edward Chen suddenly had a serious illness the father and son relationship hence made a 180 degree turn. In the father and son scene in the film, they let go of all of their past and embraced. The scene touched many viewers, and opened their eyes to Lam Kwok Bun's acting. Used to play the big villain, Lam Kwok Bun had to shed real tears in front of the camera to move the audience. Lam Kwok Bun felt that with life experience, tears naturally came right on cue. He said, "Actually having to cry is no big deal, I am several decades old. I have experienced so much. I just remember something unpleasant from before, cultivate my emotions a little, then I can cry." Lam Kwok Bun got along with the group of young actors in the film. They would play badminton and basketball together. His basketball skills were absolutely on part with "Basketball Goddess" Mandy Tam Man Huen. He joked, "I am a young person too, several decades ago, haha! At first I was a little worried that I wouldn't fit in with everyone, wouldn't be able to communicate; but actually that wasn't the case, everyone were very friendly." * (2024/01/18) Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) recently promoted their film ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG) on a multiple mainland city tour that included Guangzhou, Beijing and Hangzhou. Director Albert Mak Kai Kwong revealed the source of Sing Sing's character name "Mui Nam Tin", which came from how much he missed his parents. He said, "It was from my Papa and Mama's names. My Papa and Mama are no longer here, so I put their names into it to remember them." Lam Ka Tung asked the director why he waited until now to say that. Kwok Fu Sing followed, "It's full of love here." Then Sing Sing immediately turned into "Mui Tin Nam", not only saying the line that appeared in the film many times, "Sorry", but also breaking into an emotional cry. He even covered his mouth. Because his weeping was rather realistic, he received online praises for the textbook performance. In addition, they also put on big Dongbei cotton coats. When Sing Sing took off his jacket down to a tank top and his Kirin arms, the audience could not help but scream. Sing Sing was complimented for his fashion sense online and whether his looks or figure they were all properly maintained. No one could tell completely his real age. * (2024/01/18) Stephy Tang Lai Yan for the film AS IT BURNS (BAK JAU YU FUN) performed the theme song, which was officially released yesterday. Stephy pointed out that her film character deeply touched her. In order to express the character's loneliness, she challenged a different song style. "I have a discussion with the producer. We both feel that lowering the key would be more suitable, as it would have type of mysterious and inner struggle feeling. I even sing one part with a smile, but it isn't a happy smile; it's a bitter smile. It may be the first time I sing a tragic song with a smile, from which I actually feel my hair standing on its end -- just like the movie." * (2024/01/18) The Jason Kwan Chi Yiu directed, Andy Lau Tak Wa produced and starred, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Eddie Peng Yu-Yan and Cya Liu starred crime action film I DID IT MY WAY (CHIM HUNG) is heating up in release. Earlier Wa Jai with Ka Tung and Peng Yu-Yan spoke to the media together and shared their production experience. Ka Tung and Peng Yu-Yan both got hurt during the shoot. Ka Tung even injured his rib and had to be sent to the hospital right away. However all three looked forward to working together again. Wa Jai even revealed that he even came up with the title already, GUM MAN DAI LO BAN (TONIGHT BOSS FIGHT). The film was shot last year, Wa Jai said that before the pandemic he has already asked Peng Yu-Yan to play a cop. At the time everyone relied on the internet to communicate, to later during the official production and completion he hoped that this character would bring Peng to new possibilities in the future; as for Ka Tung they have worked together countless times over the years. In the film the trio had many action scenes. Peng Yu-Yan was cut by glass, but he said, "It's fine, just a little one! Brother Ka Tung's injury was more severe." Ka Tung pointed out that he was minor too, injuries were very normal. At the time he was careless; with the long production and the hot weather, he had heat exhaustion from sweating and he problem came. Wa Jai pointed out that at the time Ka Tung was making two fight scenes at once. At the time he was asked to rehearse too and he said no. Ka Tung joked, "Usually it's on impulse." About the actors' injuries, Wa Jai also felt sorry and blamed himself for not controlling too well at the time. In the end Ka Tung tripped and hurt his rib. Ka Tung joked, "The medical staff is really good, cutting off all my clothes; even the pants. Actually it really hurt, but I thought this time you guys saw everything." Wa Jai also commended Ka Tung for risking his life for every performance. Although he was injured Ka Tung felt it was worth it. "I thought it was worth it! For such a big production, everyone wants to make it good. Actually it wasn't any major problem, the most important is whether the result is pretty or not, cool or not. After the hospital release I had to shoot another fight scene again. At the time I have to wear waist protection." Wa Jai asked Ka Tung out of concern whether it was truly viable, Ka Tung smiled and said, "This is a Brother, on and off screen I feel the love. (Would you need treatment for a long time before recovery?) The doctor said it would naturally heal, and I have pain killers. However I am the 'observatory', any storm or rain I would know." Wa Jai after 16 years played a villain drug lord again, action scenes were inevitable. He admitted that at this age, he would prepare stunt doubles for action scenes. "Ka Tung and Peng Yu-Yan personally performed. Peng Yu-Yan was just like when I was young, getting yelled at for using a double. Even action director Chin Kar Lok praised Peng Yu-Yan's potential to be an action actor." Peng Yu -Yan said, "Good! I can, I don't know much. What I would learn I would use in the performance later. This time the action scenes Brother Kar Lok designed were much harder than I imagined. Once we shot in a very small space. When I saw Brother Kar Lok having prepared 200 wine bottles, I realized that the bottles would be thrown at me. Although the action scenes were tough, I had a lot of fun making them. In addition we practiced before hand, so they were completed smoothly. Instead the most difficult of the scene in which he went to arrest Wa Jai. "I had to viciously yell at Wa Jai. During rehearsal I was fine, but at the real shoot I was so nervous that I couldn't yell. I had two or three bad takes. Maybe because we just started, Wa Jai's idol image was still there. I had to break through it. I was much better later, I was able to be very mean to him." Did he have any pressure from working with the two elders? Peng Yu-Yan said, "No, even if I have pressure it would still be good; because I can turn it into motivation." He also revealed that the two elders on the set had another face. "On the set they were very different than they are now. Everyone was still in character, very quiet. Now they are very lovable and chatty; sometimes when I wanted to chat with them, they would be very patient. Slowly I realized that at work they would not waste any extra energy, as they wanted to focus on their performance." Started as actors, Wa Jai and Ka Tung in recent years have become producers. Peng Yu-Yan felt that he still would be happier as an actor. Ka Tung joked, "Do it! It's a lot of fun." Peng Yu-Yan remained firm. "I am too happy from working with them. I don't need to think so much. I am better off improving as an actor before then." Because of their pleasant collaboration, Wa Jai already had a plan for them to work together again. He even thought of the subject -- comedy. Ka Tung pointed out that the three of them wanted to seriously make a comedy and seriously be absurd. "I truly want to make a comedy, the most important to Hong Kong people is being happy." Wa Jai even revealed that he even came up with the title GUM MAN DA LO BAN (TONIGHT BOSS FIGHT). The boss would be him, but they have not thought of the story yet. As for when it would be completed, Ka Tung immediately gave the duty to the boss Wa Jai. He only knew the money would definitely be there. As a handsome man, would Peng Yu-Yan be able to accept playing ugly. Ka Tung stared at him and said, "Don't waste the make up, this person can't be ugly no matter what." Peng Yu-Yan said that he was very "comedy" and Wa Jai agreed. However, they fail to notice that the world is rapidly changing. The property prices have rocketed and in the blink of an eye, their savings are not enough. In frustration, Liao Jie comes to realize the harsh reality of being poor. In contrast to his father, their landlord who people call "Old Fox" emerges as a winner and he seems to be a better mentor to Liao Jie. Old Fox teaches Liao Jie how to survive in society, and that is something his father has never taught him. Nonetheless, Liao Jie ends up hurting Old Fox with what he has learned from Old Fox. On the other hand, like his father, Liao Jie is someone who always empathizes with others, and it is this quality that stops Liao Jie from becoming another "Old Fox". THE MOVIE EMPEROR d.
