* (2025/01/15) The film LITTLE RED SWEET (HUNG DAU) earlier held a 
word-of-mouth screening.  The film's editing consultant, master artist 
William Chang Suk Ping, also made a rare appearance to share with the 
audience.   He admitted that art or editing is creation, "It can't 
be taught, you  have to explore it slowly."  On the same day, the film 
company released its first production special - Tong Sui chapter, and 
arranged for real Tong Sui masters and food stylists to teach the 
actors how to fry red beans and postures.  Among them Simon Yam Tak 
Wah and Stephy Tang Lai Yan both cooked red bean soup by themselves.  
Yam Tak Wah said, "I play an older generation of dessert masters, 
very stubborn.  The process can't have mistakes, and if it is the 
whole pot has to be replaced."  Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun said that if he 
had a bowl of red bean soup, he  would like to give it to every 
viewer in the audience and hope everyone will go to the movies and 
feel a warmth!  As for Tang Lai Yan, she said that she would give it 
to Mama.  "She has worked hard from my childhood to adulthood, I 
hope she would get a little sweeter and happier."

* (2025/01/14) The Dior Cheng Yee Kin (Ekin), Ian Chan Cheuk Yin and 
Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yi) starred refreshing and innocent romance LAST 
SONG FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG) would head straight to HK$ 9 million 
at the box office.  The day before yesterday, film director Jill Leung 
Lai Yin led the three leads Ekin, Ian and Hui Yan Yi, as well as the 
musician who scored the film Chan Kwong Wing, to a cinema in Tsim Sha 
Tsui to thank the audience and share their production experience.  
Among them without much acting experience, Ian received the 
director's praises for handling an emotional scene accurately.
	Playing the girl Ha Man Huen and Summer in the film, Hui Yan Yi 
is only 20 years old.  The team praised her for being young, full of 
vitality, and extremely high energy.  She often played with Ekin and 
danced during breaks, and kept asking questions to the introverted Ian.  
She was the source of joy on the set.  Ian revealed that the most 
interesting part of filming was playing a student role, "Since I studied 
in a boys' school, I had no female classmates.  It felt very special to 
play a classmate with Natalie in the film, as I got a chance to repeat 
at a co-educational school."
	Director Leung Lai Yin specifically mentioned a more difficult 
to handle emotional scene in the movie, when the teenager So Sing Wa 
found out that his father had an extramarital affair.  He was sad and 
helpless.  The director praised Ian that in the face of experienced 
actor Tommy Chu Pak Him, he handled his emotions very well.  "I asked 
him to only use his expressions to interpret this scene, without any 
superfluous dialogue.  Ian appropriately interpreted the chaotic 
thoughts at the moment as a son, the uncertain feeling of whether he 
should step forward or retreat.  The tears also flowed naturally, and it 
was done well."
	In the film, Chan Kwong Wing chose one of Ekin's old songs MY 
SONG to connect the story of the teenager and the adult So Sing Wa, and 
also wrote a new song LAST SONG FOR YOU for the movie for Ekin and Ian.  
The director praised all of the singing scenes of the 3 actors were 
recorded live, so none of the live performances had post-production.  
"When the young So Sing Wa asks Ha Man Huen to guess the meaning of the 
melody, Ian even performed on the spot and got it in one take."  In 
addition, speaking of the movie interlude TIDES, it turned out to be the 
first time Ian participated in the film music composition.  He 
originally planned to compose a new melody, but he remembered that he 
had a melody in his demo library that matched the beach theme.  He 
recommended it to the director, not expecting the director to adopt it 
as soon as he heard it.  The songs in the movie caused heated 
discussions on the Internet, and many fans of Ekin and Ian beg for the 
release of the original soundtrack of the movie.  At the audience 
appreciation shows viewers asked directly.  The director did not 
eliminate this possibility but would leave the decision to the film 
company.

* (2025/01/14) The 2024 Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards announced 
the winners yesterday, Sean Lau Ching Wan won the Best Actor for PAPA, 
and MONTAGES OF A MODERN MOTHERHOOD (FU DUK BUT)'s Hedwig Tam Sin Yin 
won the Best Actress.  TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG 
SING JAI JI WAI SING) won Best Film.  Last year's highest-grossing film 
THE LAST DANCE  (POR. DEI YUK) became one of the recommended movies and 
did not win any major awards.  Lau Ching Wan defeated THE WAY WE TALK 
(HONG NGOR GUM TIN JUM MOR SUET)'s Neo Yau Hawk Sau by one vote to win 
Best Actor.  The first time Film Critic Society Best Actor Lau Ching 
Wan  thanked the Society, saying that PAPA was still in theaters and 
still more than HK$ 70 million before reaching HK$ 100 million.  He 
called on everyone to support the film at the movies.  Chung Suet Ying 
won the Golden Horse Film Award Best Actress last year with THE WAY WE 
TALK, but this time she lost to Tam Sin Yin by one vote.  Tam Sin Yin 
was excited after winning Best Actress for the first time, and thanked 
the team of MONTAGES OF A MODERN MOTHERHOOD for achieving her first 
film award.
	The Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards were announced its 
winners yesterday, with a total of 5 awards and 10 recommended films, 
including Best Film TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN, Best Actor Sean 
Lau Ching Wan of PAPA, Best Actress Hedwig Tam Sin Yin of MONTAGES OF A 
MODERN MOTHERHOOD, Best Director Philip Yung Tsz Kwong of PAPA, and 
Ryker Chan Wai Bun, Albert Mak Kai Kwong and Man Uen Ching won Best 
Screenplay for ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG).  As for the ten recommended 
movies, they included ROB N ROLL, OBEDIENCE (SUP FONG JI DEI), FOUR 
TRAILS (HEUNG GONG SEI GAING DAI BO JAU), THE WAY WE TALK (HONG NGOR GUM 
TIN JUM MOR SUET), ALL SHALL BE WELL (CHUNG GUM YI HAU), LOVE LIES (NGOR 
TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI), PAPA, WINTER CHANTS (DONG MEI LOI), THE LAST 
DANCE (POR. DEI YUK), and AN ABANDONED TEAM (DUT CHUNG SIN SUN).
	According to the Society, 46 Hong Kong films met the criteria of  
first run public ticketed screenings at Hong Kong cinemas with no less 
than 5 screenings held within a week.  Finally, the best works revolved 
around the discussion were mainly 12 to 15 films.  The five awards were 
all hotly contested, and the results were obtained after 9 hours of 
heated discussion and three rounds of voting.  Each of the five 
finalists for Best Film had their own supporters, and in the end, the 
Soi Cheang Pou Soi directed TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN and the 
Yung Tsz Kwong directed PAPA faced off, with the former narrowly winning 
by a small number of votes to take the lead.
	Yung Tsz Kwong with PAPA defeated THE WAY WE WALK's Adam Wong 
Sau Ping, OBEDIENCE's Wong Siu Bong and others to win Best Director.  In 
terms of screenplay, ROB N ROLL stood out, beating LOVE LIES, ALL SHALL 
BE WELL and others to win Best Screenplay.  Last year's highest-grossing 
film THE LAST DANCE was not nominated for more than 3 awards, but 
Michael Hui Koon Man and Michelle Wai Sze Nga were nominated for the 
third round of voting for Best Actor and Actress.
	The audience considered Lau Ching Wan's performance in PAPA to 
be his "best performance of his film career", earlier he competed for 
Best Actor at the Tokyo International Film Festival and Asian Film 
Awards.  The Film Critics Society said that Lau Ching Wan defeated 
THE WAY WE TALK's Neo Yau Hawk Sau by one vote to become the Best 
Actor, his fifth time after FULL ALERT (GO DOH GAI BEI), LA 
BRASSIERE (JUET SAI HO BRA), LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) 
and OVERHEARD 3 (SIT TING FUNG WON 3).
	The Society said that in the face of the family tragedy, from 
the loss of consciousness and not understanding the reasons for the bad 
news at first glance, to the trauma of loneliness and loss of love, and 
the persistence of reluctance to reconcile, the actor had a great test 
with each plot turn.  Lau Ching Wan with a "reserved" method to control 
his performance, displaying a low profile, sorrow and sense of life 
between silence and eruption, intricate and complex skill wise.  The 
actor showed the understanding and digestion of unpredictability and 
love.  In the past 10 years, Lau Ching Wan has repeatedly played the 
role of genre films. This Lau Ching Wan performance has a rarely seen 
aspect, especially his interaction with new actors; showing the power of 
the presence of top actors.
	Lau Ching Wan thanked the Hong Kong Film Critics Society for his 
best actor award, "PAPA is still in theaters, and is still more than 70 
million from being able to break 100 million.  As the saying goes, 
'where there's a will, there's a way.'  I hope everyone would continue 
their support."
	Tam Sin Yin won the Best Actress for her first film award.  She 
defeated the Golden Horse Best Actress Chung Suet Ying by one vote.  The 
Society said that Tam Sin Yin as the first time mother Suk Ching not 
only gained weight, but also showed the pain from the body to the heart 
in detail.  In the face of parenting pressure and the conservative 
concept of gender division of labor, she went from disappointment to 
despair and gradually collapsed in the baby's cry.  Tam Sin Yin gave 
this highly difficult role a strong appeal.
	The first time Best Actress Tam Sin Yin emotionally thanked the 
team.  "Thank you to director (Oliver) Chan Siu Kuen, who dares to cast 
me.  Without you accompanying me to find Suk Ching, I wouldn't have been 
able to reach this step. Thank you for choosing me.  Thank you to 
everyone involved in front of and behind the scenes of MONTAGES OF A 
MODERN MOTHERHOOD, the distribution company Golden Scene, my co-stars in

letting me do what I want to do, and thank you to my mother.  If there

	PAPA won the Best Director, Best Actor and the Recommended Film 
of the Year awards, Yung Tsz Kwong was especially grateful to producer 
Amy Chin Siu Wai and co-producer Suen Fei, as he knew that he was a 
difficult director to manage; as well as the investors of this film.  "I 
am very happy that Lau Ching Wan won the award, PAPA being appreciated 
is my biggest wish from making this movie. I hope that "Mama", "Son" and 
"Daughter" will have good luck at the Hong Kong Film Awards.  PAPA is 
still in theaters, and I hope everyone will go to the theater to see 
this movie and support us to make another new movie."
	The Ray Yeung Yiu Hoi directed film about lesibans in their 
twilight years, ALL SHALL BE WELL (CHUNG GUM YI HAU) was selected as one 
of the Recommended Films of the Year.  He said that the team was very 
honored to be included in the list of recommended films by the Hong Kong 
Film Critics Society, and was delighted to witness a series of wonderful 
Hong Kong films releases that showcased a rich variety of subjects and 
styles and injected vitality into the local film industry last year.  He  
hoped that more Hong Kong audiences would flock to cinemas in the coming 
year to support local films.

* (2025/01/14) The Michael Hui Koon Man and Michelle Wai Sze Nga starred 
Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) welcomed good news 
in the mainland yesterday, as it box office exceeding 200 million yuan 
RMB (about HK$ 210 million).  Due to the satisfactory results, the 
release date of the film will be extended to February 13th, 
accompanying the mainland audiences to celebrate the Lunar New Year and 
"breaking" the negative spirit to welcome the Year of the Snake!
	THE LAST DANCE in Hong Kong and the mainland has won a lot of 
word-of-mouth, fans are looking forward to the film to launch an extended 
version.  When asked about the editing progress of the extended version, 
director Anselm Chan Mou Yin revealed that it should be completed this 
month; but because there are many Chinese New Year films in the 
post-production, it will take some time.  As for what exactly will be 
added to the extended version?  He revealed, "The version currently in 
release is more than 120 minutes long.  I originally shot more than 160 
minutes, ideally it will be 20 minutes longer.  I will add back in the 
cameo role of Kaki Sham, and one or two scenes with Wai Sze Nga that I 
think are good."

* (2025/01/13) The Philip Keung Ho Man (Hak Jai) and Fish Liew Chi Yu 
starred, Keian Chui Tze Yiu directed film REMEMBER WHAT I FORGOT (CHUN 
GAING YUNG YAU), due to the epidemic and various factors, finally came 
out after 8 years of waiting.  The premiere was held the night before.  
Coming just to support Fish, Jennifer Yu Heung Ying also joked that she 
has waited for the release of this movie for a long time.  She waited 
so long that she was married and had a child, which made the audience 
laugh.
	Hak Jai said that this is his first starring movie, so he felt a  
special connection to it.  He played a "movie fanatic" in the film, but 
he was also infatuated with movies in reality.  Thus he felt sorry to 
hear the rumors of theater closures.  Speaking of the late movie star 
Mang Hoi's cameo role in the film that became his last collaboration with 
Hak Jai, Hak Jai said that he really missed this senior friend and 
praised, "He was very good to the juniors.  We worked together on a 
drama in the Asian television era and have become friends since then.  
We even met with Lam Ching Ying and (Annie) Man Chung Han for a barbecue

in Hong Kong on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year.  He was very happy 
to be busy with movie promotion as soon as he stepped into the Year of 
the Snake.  "If I don't make the movie today, who knows when it would 
happen."
	Fish saw herself 8 years ago in the film.  She said that she 
liked herself a little more at that time, because she was more 
energetic, lively and happy.  She also said that she might have a 
sentimental personality.  She always felt that her prior self was 
younger and more beautiful, but she also understood that she should live 
in the present.  Thus she deliberately tattooed some patterns with 
related meanings on her body to remind herself to continue to learn and 
grow;  her boyfriend Siuyea Lo Chun Yip tended to be as emotional as 
her, so they would be able to understand and support each other. In 
order to gain time to rest and recuperate, Fish said that during this 
time she will only take on some easier jobs.  She would not return to 
his hometown in Malaysia for the New Year, but she will pay a New Year 
visit to her boyfriend's parents and revealed that she got along well 
with her elders.
	During the audience meet-and-greet session, Keung Ho Man 
encouraged the audience to support Hong Kong films.  Fish immediately  
said, "We should cherish what we once had and look forward to the 
future!"Endy Chow Kwok Yin remembered the details related to music, "I 
hope the audience can relive the era of listening to songs with MD in 
the movie."

* (2025/01/12) The 27-year-old Taiwanese goddess Mizuki Lin Xiang has 
gradually become famous in Southeast Asia for her figure.  Recently 
she even announced that she would come to Hong Kong for a film, which 
will inevitably be compared with Lin Minchen due to her similar 
background! However, perhaps Lin Minchen's successive negative news 
has scared her off.  Even if the director has thrown an olive branch 
to her, Lin Xiang still made it clear that she may not go all out to 
attack Hong Kong in the short term!
	Lin Xiang came to Hong Kong earlier for a week for work on her 
first Hong Kong Lunar New Year QUEEN OF MAHJONG (MA JEUK NUI WONG JUI 
NAM JAI), which people can't help but speculate that she is very likely 
to become "Lin Minchen 2.0".  Unfortunately the Malaysian goddess Lin 
Minchen has been in negative news recently, including not admitting her 
relationship and being named "Liar Chen" because of her absence, etc., 
resulting in a decline in her image.  Li Xiang naturally considered her 
to be a precedence, in addition she has yet to clearly grasp the secrets 
of Cantonese.  With her contract issues she understood that she could do 
it all in one step.  For the time being, she has not planned to give up

time.
	Once selected as one of the "Top 100 Beauties in the World" by 
an American movie website, Lin Xiang has a bold and intimate 
personality, talks about everything, and has not been infected with any 
princess disease at all.  Director Patrick Yip Lim Sum revealed that 
when he invited her to film in Hong Kong this time, he was also 
impressed by her approachability.  "We didn't know each other at all at 
first.  When I sent her a private message through social platforms, she 
personally replied to me that night.  When she flew to Hong Kong to 
start work, she did all the hair, make up and costume herself!"  
Director Yip did not shy away from saying that he hoped to sign a 
contract with her to work together again, but Lin Xiang said frankly, 
"Making a movie takes a long time.  I have other jobs on hand, so I may 
not be able to free up the schedule!"
	Although getting along well with the cast and the crew while 
working in Hong Kong,  Lin Xiang worried very much about the language 
problem.  "I can't communicate well with everyone.  I feel that my 
language skills are super poor, especially Cantonese is very difficult 
for me.  Sometimes I can't make the sounds no matter what, even when I 
read everyone's lips; because I don't know how to make the sound!"  She 
even revealed related troubles, "When I rehearsed with other actors, I 
relied on memorizing key Words to pick up their dialogues.  Yet on the 
set they might improvise a little, so I would be stunned on the spot.   
I only saw everyone looking back at me silently, only then I realized 
that it was my turn to say my lines."
	Speaking of her acting bug, Lin Xiang said that she also likes 
acting.  Yet being a cheerleader for many years has made her weaknesses 
easily exposed to others.  "Because a cheerleader can just always keep 
smiling, emotions such as sadness and anger are buried.  I feel that I 
sometimes forget these feelings, until recently I relive my previous 
experiences and try to feel negative emotions again.  It also makes me 
think about whether I can really fully master acting."  However, 
cheerleading, commercial performances and endorsement work have 
undeniably earned Lin Xiang the "first pot of gold".  She generously 
revealed that she had bought property in Taiwan earlier.  "I have my own 
little nest, but I have not yet been able to move in.  The building is 
under construction, I believe it will take another two or three years!"
	Lin Xiang's recent charm has been unstoppable.  In addition to 
the screen, she also attracted fans on the set!  Reportedly she 
partnered with Carlos Chan Ka Lok and DaDa Chan Jing to form a "triangle 
relationship" in QUEEN OF MAHJONG (MA JEUK NUI WONG JUI NAM JAI).  In 
the story she played the role of a "new actress" who was about to work 
with the "Super Popular Best Actor" Ka Lok.  The film company was afraid 
that Ka Lok's exaggerated acting skills would scare Lin Xiang away, so 
they found a "intimacy instructor" Chan Jing to be responsible for 
communication and coordination between them on the set.  In just a few 
days of cooperation, Ka Lok praised Lin Xiang endlessly and the team 
also attracted by her personality.  The staff could not help but raise 
their thumbs when they mentioned Lin Xiang.

* (2025/01/12) Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Fish Liew Chi Yu, Tony Wu Tsz Tung 
and others attended the brand launch event the night before.  The Fish 
and Wu Tsz Tung starred Hong Kong-produced film TWILIGHT OF THE 
WARRRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) received 9 
nominations at the Asian Film Awards, making it the most nominated 
Chinese-language film.  Wu Tsz Tung and Fish expressed that they were 
very happy about the film TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN's 9 
nominations that made it the most nominated Chinese language film.  
Fish joked that she had to beg for a role in the sequel and the prequel; 
Wu Tsz Tung also described that from the start of this fantasy journey 
in May last year to the filming of the sequel this year, the entire 
TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN team has been very grateful to 
director Soi Cheang Pou Soi for his persistence.
	Speaking of nomination ballots for the Hong Kong Film Awards 
announced earlier, Louis Koo in support of Raymond Lam Fung's Best Actor 
bid retreated to compete for the supporting actor award.  Fish believed 
that the movie had its own positioning interpretation, and the actors 
only needed to do their duty; Wu Tsz Tung through the characters in the

cinemas in recent years, Fish and Wu Tsz Tung had different views.  Fish 
said that the cinema's big screens and surround sound could make the 
audience feel the charm of movies even more, the feeling was different 
from watching movies on the phone or the computer. People passed their 
time before by going out, going to the movies and going out to eat.  She 
hoped that young people would be able to go to the movies.  In the 
future without cinemas, watching movies on the small screen of the 
computer would be no fun; Wu Tsz Tung feels that not being eliminated 
was a good thing, because everything in the world was a cycle.  With the 
change and progress of the times, no one could stick to the rules.   The 
ones that were left represented real love for this industry, and the 
film industry and cinemas will always rise after the low tide.   It 
might be carried out in another form at that time.  Starring in the film 
CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING), Jeffrey believed that the box office of Hong 
Kong films has increased overall last year, and he felt that Hong Kong 
people were very supportive of Hong Kong films.

* (2025/01/12) The Donnie Yen Chi Tan starred movie THE PROSECUTOR (NG 
POON) has been the box office champion for 3 consecutive weeks since 
its opening on the 21st of last month, with a cumulative box office of 
more than HK$ 22 million!  Actors Adam Pak Tin Nam, Locker Lam Ka Hei, 
Mason Fung Ho Yeung along with Lau Kong, who attended his first THE 
PROSECUTOR audience appreciation event, visited many cinemas and 
surprised many viewers.  
	Rarely appeared at audience appreciation events, Lau Kong was 
popular with the audience.  A viewer mentioned the car chase scene in 
the film when Lau Kong ran under the protection of Yen Chi Tan.  The 
scene required a lot of energy and surprised everyone.  Lau Kong said, 
"Fortunately I have been running normally.  Actually this version 
everyone sees is different from the one we first shot.  We were very far 
away from the car.  Mr. Yen discovered that the result was not good.  He 
wanted the thrill of being chased.   When we shot up close, I took a 
look and it is really close.  Then I ran faster, so I am really glad 
that I usually run."

mark!  Poised to sweep the awards at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards, 
lead actress Michelle Wai Sze Nga has the best odds to win the Hong Kong 
Film Awards Best Actress for the first time.
	The Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) has 
stayed in the top three at the box office for 62 consecutive days since 
its opening on November 9th last year.  Playing Michael Hui Koon Man's 
daughter, Michelle Wai Sze Nga has performed well in the film.  Earlier 
she has already swept many film festivals Best Actress awards, and is 
regarded as the Best Actress favorite at this year's Hong Kong Film 
Awards.  In the film Wai Sze Nga and Tommy Chu Pak Hong, who played her 
elder brother, have a major scene that tugs at the heart strings.  The 
team specifically released the production footage of this scene, showing 
the determination and perseverance of the two in the face of the 
difficult action of "Breaking Hell".
	In order to perfectly present this scene, Wai Sze Nga went 
through 9 months of high-intensity training beforehand and Chu Pak Hong 
was no exception.  In the days leading up to the shoot, the duo 
practiced their movements at the funeral hall at almost every break, 
mastering every detail of the ceremony.  On the day of filming, the two 
communicated frequently with the martial arts instructor and the ritual 
master.  After each shoot, they looked physically and mentally exhausted 
during the break.  The scene was not only mentally but also physically 
challenging; after all the hard work, the filming was finally completed 
smoothly, lead actor Dayo Wong Tze Wah and the team applauded 
thunderously.  Witnessing on the set, Catherine Chau Ka Yee was even 
moved to tears.
	Wai Sze Nga also has the breaking hell solo scene.  She has to 
complete the ritual for her loved one with sadness, and even has to 
challenge the difficult fire basin jump stunt.  She lives up to 
expectations and successfully completes the action, the entire set 
applauds and she cannot help but excitedly show off her burnt hair. 
Recalling the shoot that day, Wai Sze Nga emotionally said that after 
practicing for 9 months, when the shoot finally came she felt like show 
time.  She was excited and a little nervous, but she enjoyed the process 
more.  She also felt that the whole team seemed to be cheering for 
herself, and felt like a group of friends helping her to do something 
together and succeeding in the end.

* (2025/01/11) The 2025 Lunar New Year has three Hong Kong-made films 
HIT N FUN (LUM SI KUET DAU), MY BEST BET (CHEUNG DOH BIT YANG) and 
QUEEN OF MAHJONG (MA JEUK NUI WONG JUI NAM JAI).  In the Albert Mak 
Kai Kwong directed, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Chrissie 
Chau Sau Na, Louise Wong Dan Nei and others starred Lunar New Year film 
HIT N FUN, Chau Sau Na played a boxing champion who stole Peter Chan 
Charm Man from advertising executive Wong Dan Nei.  Wong Dan Nei went 
to Koo Tin Lok's gym to train and challenge her romantic rival, but ran 
into her professional rival Leung Wing Kei at the gym.  Koo Tin Lok was 
responsible for training them to get into the ring.  Gigi played Goo 
Jai's star wife, responsible for the comedy in the film.
	The three female leads, Gigi, Chau Sau Na and Wong Dan Nei had 
boxing training at the gym to learn boxing before the filming started.   
Yet Gigi's lessons did not come in handy after learning, as in the film 
she only had one scene when Tony Wu Tsz Tung hit her.  She also found 
that she was not suitable for fighting.  In the film Chau Sau Na and 
Wong Dan Nei fought the most, did they think they have the talent to 
become action actresses?  Sister Na joked, "Don't ever say that, I 
usually practice boxing to lose weight and meet guys.  This time I 
practice Muay Thai for the film, without any stunt double or protective 
padding.  I understand the attack power of Muay Thai.  Muay Thai will 
really kill people."  At the beginning of the shoot, she pointed out 
that everyone was afraid that they would hit each other if they did not 
know how to hold back.  Later she felt that it was better to get it over 
with rather than just focusing on camera angles, so she just fought 
seriously.
	Wong Dan Nei found that Muay Thai required speed, and then 
angles had to be accurate so that she would not have to shoot too many 
times due to bad takes.  For example when filming a fight scene with Koo 
Tin Lok, she really confirmed that "long pain is better than short 
pain".  Gigi smiled and pointed to the fact that she was also watching 
how Koo Tin Lok would fight Wong Dan Nei from the sideline.  "Mr. Koo 
picked up Wong Dan Nei, spun and then slammed her on the ground, I felt 
the pain just from watching it!"  Wong Dan Nei immediately said, "I was 
really in pain at that time, I was shocked when I was hit the ground.  
It took a few seconds to recover and get up again."  Did Koo Tin Lok

Leung Wing Kei, Goo Jai, Wu Tsz Tung and Chau Sau Na.  She joked that 
after the shoot completed she finally understood she had to learn so 
many fancy styles at the gym before.
	Chau Sau Na did not have an easy time either, as she was injured 
and had to go to the hospital for stitches.  Sister Na pointed out that 
she had an accident on the first day of work, because the scene was not 
in the ring but a street fight over a guy.  "During the shoot I  
originally had to kick a chair away, but I missed and cut my calf on the 
chair's metal leg.  I was making cool poses in front of the camera, but 
I was already screaming in pain as soon as the director yelled cut.  I 
saw the bleeding under the knee.  At first I thought it was just a 
scratch.  In addition it was the first day of the shoot, so I only 
briefly treated the would before I continued to shoot; but then as soon 
as I moved the wound burst open.  I only went to the hospital the next 
day to get 5 stitches."  Wong Dan Nei was also frightened by this scene, 
and immediately took the folding chair away.  Yet she has already seen 
Sister Na bleeding.  The two chuckled bitterly as they never thought 
that they would fight so hard in a Lunar New Year film.  Even Gigi 
praised the two "action actresses" for being tough. Have they been 
scared away from filming action scenes anymore?  Wong Dan Nei said with 
a smile, "I discover that I have a little 'M base' (masochist), and I am 
pretty tough.  I can kick until my arms and legs were bruised, and I was 
okay.  My husband (Sheldon) Lo Hau Yung jokes that it was time to try 
sparring with me and test my skills."
	Gigi has made many Chinese New Year films.  This time she is in 
charge of the comedy, so Chau Sau Na and Wong Dan Nei were very envious 
of her and Harriet Yeung Sze Man for not having to fight.  Gigi said 
that she had the difference in age from the two.  They would recover 
very quickly from their injuries; while if she was injured, she would 
have been admitted to the hospital for more than stitches.  Gigi pointed 
out that in her previous Lunar New Year film CHILLI LAUGH STORY (HOP GA 
LAT), Ronald Cheng Chung Kei was responsible for being funny.  She

Lunar New Year film FAT CHOI SPIRIT (LEK GU LEK GU SUN NIN CHOI) years 
ago, Gigi had classic scenes.  She laughed and said, "This time HIT N 
FUN will be another classic.  My biggest sacrifice would be wrinkles, 
because I laugh until the wrinkles come out.  However I am a star in the 
film, many looks are very beautiful.  I performed with everyone along 
the lines of the plot, when the emotions swell I naturally 'improvise', 
make gags, which have quite the chemical effect."
	Last year, many Hong Kong films were successful at the box 
office.  Gigi said that she was also confident in the box office of this 
year's Hong Kong Lunar New Year films.  Ultimately the boxing subject 
and this combination were both fresh, especially the actresses fighting 
seriously would be entertaining.  Gigi worked with Chau Sau Na and Wong 
Dan Nei for the first time, while Koo Tin Lok has been working with her 
since 20 years ago.  Speaking of the sixth collaboration with Goo Jai, 
Gigi felt that Goo Jai was serious on the set, so he rarely conversed. 
At first they only communicates when they rehearsed scenes.  "It wasn't 
until I filmed a crying scene that I felt that Mr. Koo, who played my

March 16th at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. 
This year's Asian Film Awards will feature 30 outstanding films from 
25 countries or regions, in competition for 16 awards.  The Asian Film 
Awards held a press conference yesterday to announce the nominations, 
among which the highlights include TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED 
IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) receiving 9 nominations to become 
the most nominated Chinese film this year.  Three Chinese-speaking 
actors, Michael Hui Koon Man, Sean Lau Ching Wan and Eddie Peng 
Yu-Yan would compete for the "Best Actor" against Japanese actor 
Kyozo Nagasuka and Korean star Choi Min-sik; on the other hand, in the 
"Best Actress" category, Syliva Chang was the only Chinese actor 
nominated.
	The Jang Jae-hyun directed South Korean film EXHUMA, which 
uncovers the secrets of the ancient tomb against the backdrop of feng 
shui and traditional witchcraft, and features actor Choi Min-sik's 
return to the big screen, has received as many as 11 nominations at this 
year's Asian Film Awards to become the most nominated film this year.
	The Hong Kong martial arts epic TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED 
IN (GAUN LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) also received nine nominations, 
including Best Film, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editing, Best 
Cinematography, Best Original Music, Best Costume Design, Best Art 
Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Sound.  The movie is adapted 
from Yu Yi's original novel CITY OF DARKNESS, which depicts that in a 
dangerous walled city, everyone joins hands to fight against evil 
forces.  It showed the passionate spirit and brotherhood of protecting 
the family and defending the city.  The film performed well at the 
global box office, setting off a craze for Hong Kong action movies.
	Japanese director Daihachi Yoshida's TEKI COMETH and the co-
production by France, India, the Netherlands and Luxembourg ALL WE 
IMAGINE AS LIGHT both received six nominations.
	Michael Hui Koon Man and Sean Lau Ching Wan were both nominated 
for "Best Actor" for THE LAST DANCE and PAPA respectively.  Eddie Peng 
Yu-Yan also competed for best actor with the mainland film BLACK DOG; 
the "Best Actress" category also has actress Sylvia Chang nominated for 
DAUGHTER's DAUGHTER.  On the contrary, Michelle Wai Sze Nga who won the 
Asia-Pacific Best Actress with THE LAST DANCE was not nominated for Best 
actress this time; ALL SHALL BE WELL (CHUNG GUM YI HAU)'s Li Linlin 
competed for Best Supporting Actress; in the industry for more than 20 
years, Philip Ng Wan Lung was nominated for "Best Supporting Actor" for 
the role of "Wong Gau" in TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN , and 
another Hong Kong actor, Tommy Chu Pak Hong, was also nominated for Best 
Supporting Actor for THE LAST DANCE. The Hong Kong actor nominated for 
Best New Actor is Dylan So Man To of PAPA.
	The jury chairman of this year's Asian Film Awards is Hong Kong 
film Big Brother Big Sammo Hung Kam Bo, who yesterday announced the 
nominations together with Philip Ng Wan Lung, Kenny Wong Tak Bun, 
Jennifer Yu Heung Ying, Lin Minchen and "Youth Ambassador" Siuyea Lo 
Chun Yip.  Hung Kam Bo was invited to be the chairman of the jury, he 
said that he was excited.  Because there has been no filming recently, 
it has been very quiet and he also had great expectations for the Asian 
Film Awards.  He believed that good films could not be lost, and hoped 
that everyone would be able to maintain the level and culture of film

day before yesterday.  Koo Tin Lok revealed that in addition to 
communicating with the director during filming, he would often ask Lam

qualification with a "strange trick" to compete with the favorite 
Michelle Wai Sze Nga!
	"The 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards" will be held on April 27th, the 
first round of voting is in full swing.  All films officially released 
in Hong Kong in 2024 are eligible to apply, and the list of films has 
also been distributed to the "first round professional jury".  For years 
film companies in order to fight for votes would come up with their own 
tricks when applying for each major category in hopes of increasing 
their chances of being nominated.  This year has rather many special 
cases; among them for the already considered Hong Kong Film Award 
favorite, TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI 
SING) only applied for Raymond Lam Fung to compete for Best Actor.  Main 
characters in the film, "Tornado" Louis Koo Tin Lok, signed up with 
Sammo Hung Kam Bo, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, the "Three sons of the Walled 
City) Terrance Lau Chun Him, Tony Wu Tsz Tung and German Cheung Man Kit, 
Philip Ng Wan Lung and others to compete for the supporting role 
nomination.  As Lam Fung's boss, Koo Tin Lok obviously does not want to 
"fight his own people" so Lam Fung has more chance to compete for the 
best actor!  Another interesting thing is that although Lam Fung's two 
friends Bosco Wong Chak Chung and Ron Ng Cheuk Hei are not frequent 
movie guests, they both have films to compete for the best actor 
nomination.  The three brothers have quite a connection.  
	Other Best Supporting Actor category applicants included THE 
LAST DANCE's Tommy Chu Pak Hong, Paul Chun Pui, and Michael Ning (Bak 
Ji), CRISIS NEGOTIATOR (TAM POON JUEN GA)'s Andy Lau Tak Wah and CUSTOM 
FRONTLINE (HOI GUAN JIN SIN)'s Francis Ng Chun Yu.
	In addition to the special arrangements for the application of 
the film TWILIGHT, the same is true for the movie THE MOON THIEVES (DOH 
YUET JEH).  Keung To only made a "special performance" in the film, but 
when applying, he is included in the leading actor column with Louis 
Cheung Kai Chung, MIchael Ning (Bak Ji), Anson Lo Hon Ting, and Edna Lui 
Cheuk On.  Aaron Kwok Kwok Fu of ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG) and Jackie 
Chan, the actor of the film with mediocre box office LEGEND, all have 
signed up along with good actors like Sean Lau Ching Wan and Francis Ng 
Chun Yu.  There should be some competition!
	Also high-profiled, the Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE 
(POR. DEI YUK)'s lead actress Michelle Wai Sze Nga has swept the "Asia-
Pacific Film Festival", "New Era Golden Flowering Award", "Macao 
International Film Festival" and "Huading Award" Best Actress awards 
with her film.  Thus this time for her Best Actress application for the 
Hong Kong Film Awards, she could be described as "sitting pretty" with 
the nomination and also a great chance to win the award.  However Chung 
Suet Ying just won the Taiwan Golden Horse Award in November last year.  
Although not officially released yet, her film THE WAY WE TALK (HONG 
NGOR GUM TIN JUM MOR SUET) was screened at least 5 times in regular 
screening film venues last year and thus was also eligible to apply.  
With the momentum of the Golden Horse Awards, she is qualified to 
compete with Wai Sze Nga!  Chung Suet Ying also applied for Best 
Supporting Actress with THE LAST DANCE along with her co-stars Elaine 
Jin (Kam Yin Ling), Catherine Chau Ka Yee, Rosa Velasco (Wai Law Sha) 
and Rachel Leung Yung Ting.  Other Best Actress applicants included LOVE  
LIES (NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI)'s Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, ALL SHALL BE 
WELL (CHUNG GUM YI HAU)'s Patra Au Ga Man, CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING)'s 
Karen Mok Man Wai, AN ABANDONED TEAM (DUT CHUNG SIN SUN)'s Amy Lo Wai 
Man, CUSTOM FRONTLINE (HOI GUAN JIN SIN)'s Karena Lam Ka Yun and Cya 
Liu.  Girl group COLLAR last year had individual members made their film 
debuts, including BLOSSOMS UNDER SOMEWHERE (GEI LIU YUT JING GOR CHUN 
TIN)'s Marf Yau Yin Tung and POSSESSION STREET (CHEH MALL)'s Candy Wong 
Ka Ching.  Both applied for Best Actress and Best New Performer.
	In addition to the "placement" of the actor award applications, 
many films also choose to apply in "big piles", among which WE 12 
starring all members of the guy group MIRROR listed the names of 12 
members on the application for the actor category of the Hong Kong Film 
Awards.  Members who made their film debuts Alton Wong Chi Tak, Ian Chan 
Cheuk Yin, Frankie Chan Shui Fai, Jeremy Lee Chun Kit, Tiger Yau Ngo Yin 
and Stanley Yau Si Chun, almost half of MIRROR, applied for Best New 
Performer.  The movie ROB N ROLL (LIM SI GIP ONG) has 10 artists such as 
Michael Wong Man Tak and Deon Cheung Chung Chi who applied for 
supporting actors at the same time, which is on par with the movie TALES 
OF TAIPEI.  Because multiple applicants for the same film in the same 
categories might lead to a problem of splitting up the votes, such a 
mass application situation is quite rare.
	Having just won the Gold Award for Male Singer at the beginning 
of the year, Ian Chan Cheuk Yin stepped into the film industry for the 
first time last year.  He had two films WE 12 (12 GWAI TO) and LAST SONG 
FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG) respectively, applied for "Best Actor" and 
"Best New Actor" with WE, and also applied for "Best New Actor", "Best 
Supporting Actor" and "Original Film Song" with LAST.  In other words, 
he had a total of 5 bids in 4 categories.  Many online pointed out that 
Dior Cheng Yee Kin and Ian played middle-aged and youth version of the 
role respectively in the film, each played half of the film but Ian was 
added to the "supporting actor" category.  The competition for 
supporting actor nominations this year has been very fierce, Ian's 
chances of winning are not high.
	Regardless of whether he can be nominated in the end, Ian's fans 
are already excited.  They even left a message on social platforms 
saying that the film LAST was released in December last year, just in 
time to apply for the Academy Awards.  They expressed that it was " 
lucky" and cheering for their idol.
	Other film applicants included LAST SONG FOR YOU's Dior Cheng 
Yee Kin and Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yee) for Best Actor and Actress.  
PAPA's Sean Lau Ching Wan applied for Best Actor, his on screen wife Jo 
Koo (Kok Cho Lam) and daughter Lainey Hung Lok Hei, Tam Yuk Ying, Chan 
Lai Wun all applied for Supporting Actress; Stephy Tang Lai Yan with 
TABLE FOR SIX 2 (FAN HEI GUNG SUM 2) and LITTLE RED SWEET (HUNG DAU) 
applied for Best Actress, and Lin Minchen with WISH COMES TRUE (BA HUNG 
FOOK LAI GUNG YUT DIM) and HAUNTING CALL (SAU GEI GEIN GWAI) applied for 
Best Actress category.

  retain separate status until 2047, in recent years the Chinese state
  has consolidated its power over the metropolis. Large-scale protests
  by the populace have been brutally suppressed. This mix of
  documentary, fiction, and visions of the future reveals the current
  state of desolate depression among the people of Hong Kong. "A
  desperate attempt to capture the final moments of a sinking island",

  In four chapters, Chan looks back at previous moments of resistance
  and revolution on the island: in 1967, 1973, and 1989. He shows how

  clashes with her live-in in-laws over childcare and housework, while 
  her husband, who works as a delivery driver, views parenting as 
  something he occasionally helps with. All she did was have a child, 
  yet Jing's life is turned upside down, leaving her in a situation 
  where all her efforts to build her career have been negated. Director 
  Oliver Siu Kuen Chan meticulously dissects Jing's struggles, revealing

  narrative depicts the suffocating oppression women suffer within both

  So Sing Wah, a former lead singer of the band, fell into the trough of
  marriage and career in middle age. He met his ex-girlfriend Ha Man 
  Huen in the hospital. Recalling the love in the midsummer, she now has
  natural grace and elegance. But it is a pity that she left without
  leaving any contact. Unexpectedly, there is a bad new from her after
  half a year; it would be her smiling face in the photo in the mourning
  hall when meeting her again. So thought that everything now has become
  the past, but a week later, an uninvited guest came to him. Summer, a
