Peter Lai wrote the lyrics for the movie song again after more than 10 years. The music video was released yesterday, and a number of movie clips were revealed with a group of actors including Samantha Ko Hoi Ning, Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming, Carlos Chan Ka Lok, DaDa Chan Jing, Lee Seung Ching, Benz Hui Siu Hung, Bob Lam Sing Bun and others competing on the mahjong table. Even Taiwan's popular cheerleading goddess Mizuki Lin Xiang appeared in a number of sexy looks. * (2024/12/25) Since the film THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) opened on November 9th, it has repeatedly broken as many as 11 box office records including "the highest box office of Asian and Chinese films in Hong Kong history", "the highest single-day box office of Hong Kong films in history", and "the 2024 highest single-day box office of Chinese and foreign films". As of two days ago the cumulative box office of THE LAST DANCE in Hong Kong and Macau reached HK$ 144.37 million. In order to celebrate the repeated successes of THE LAST DANCE, Emperor Motion Pictures held a "Breaking Records 1,000 People Celebration Banquet" the night before, with the boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing leading actors Michael Hui Koon Man, Dayo Wong Tze Wah, Michelle Wai Sze Nga and director Anselm Chan Mou Yin to attend. 1,000 lucky viewers whose ticket stubs were drawn were entertained as well. At the celebration banquet of 1,000 people, a group of actors followed the dragon dance into the venue in batches, and presided over the lion dance eye dotting to wish for the movie box office's continuing rise. Boss Yeung Sau Sing thanked the actors and director on stage, and said that the film results have been very satisfactory. The Hong Kong, Macao and the mainland box office received HK$ 140 million the night before. Since the mainland opening the box office has risen in the past two days, because the Greater Bay Area has responded well. The mainland film scheduling has increased, successfully attracting audiences from different cultures and customs in the north with word of mouth. "I really want to thank Hui Koon Man God and Tze Wah God, the performance truly cannot be toped, the performance is excellent, moving, and surprising. If I ask other people the salary might be a little cheaper, but I believe that the box office results are not be 1/10 of what it is." Yeung Sau Sing also revealed that Wai Sze Nga said that she has waited for this opportunity for 16 years. He could not help but get teary eyed when he heard that, and he was happy that she won the Best Actress. Then he hugged and congratulated the actors. Yeung Sau Sing in order to reward the "championship team" presented 16 gold medals to the actors on the spot, and specifically presented his treasured "Rolex Limited Edition Green Submariner Watch" to lead actor Hui Koon Man, and "Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru Red Wine" to the lead actor Tze Wa. Yeung Sau Sing said that before the movie was released, he has promised Tze Wa that as long as the box office would make "100 bucks" he still would present this treasured red wine to him. Tze Wa joked, "When I drank this wine with Boss Yeung at dinner before he again said that he would give it to me, but I can't afford to drink this wine. The boss said, 'It's fine, open it when your daughter is born', so today I ask everyone if anyone is willing to have a daughter with me? If not I wouldn't be qualified to drink this wine!" Yeung Sau Sing joked that the ladies must be fighting to line up. As long as Tze Wah would be willing the line would reach Shau Kei Wan. Hui Koon Man also joked that he disgusted the boss before. "Two months ago when I had dinner with Boss Yeung, I wore a 50 buck watch I bought in Shenzhen, Boss Yeung said that how could you wear such a crummy watch out!" Yeung Sau Sing interjected with a smile, "I said Hello Man, when you go out don't tell people you know Mr. Yeung. When you wear a watch like this I really lose face. How can I be friends with you, I am the king of Hong Kong time pieces!" Hui Koon Man immediately joked, "At that time I asked the boss how did he know that my watch was crummy, and he said that do you think I sell pork? However I never in my dreams would guess that he would give me an expensive watch. I don't dare to wear it, as I am afraid that someone would cut off my hand!" The audience burst into laughter. Tze Wah joked, "Tonight when I take the taxi home I would finish this bottle of red wine, so no one would have any design on this bottle." Later Yeung Sau Sing and director Chan Mou Yin were interviewed together, and Mr. Yeung revealed that he has already given a gift to Director Chan long ago. Was it a home as rumored? Mr. Yeung pointed out that it would depend on whether the director was willing to talk about it. Speaking of whether he would give a film contract, he pointed out that this was to ask him to make a movie. As for Director Chan's plan to work with Tze Wa and Hui Koon Man within 3 years, Mr. Yeung said with a smile that he would definitely invest, and if he was kept from investing he would be upset. The current box office trend of THE LAST DANCE was still strong, and it should be able to be in release into 2025 and even to the Lunar New Year. Would the director consider releasing the extended version for the Lunar New Year? Chan Mou Yin pointed out that all the post-production companies were rushing to work on the Lunar New Year films. The post-production companies had no room on their schedules so he had to wait in line, but of course he hoped that the film would be able to continue its run until next Christmas. Mr. Yeung was also full of confidence in the box office this time, and the tentative target was 150 million, and to be able to exceed 200 million would be the best. He revealed that in addition to the brilliant box office results in the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, overseas including the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and even the United States and Canada have made a lot of box office, and in many foreign cities the film was also first at the box office. It was rare for a Chinese film to win the first place at the box office in many places. Hui Koon Man was in good spirit and raised his thumbs for photos with Wong Tze Wa. Hui Koon Man smiled and pointed out that he just had two glasses of red wine. It was his first time being interviewed half- drunk, but it was really worth celebrating. He hoped that the box office will rise steadily. According to the box office trend the film could still continue to be in release into next year, Tze Wa smiled and said, "That's right, it's crazy to break hell during the Lunar New Year. I hope to go past the Lunar New Year!" He pointed out that in the past he questioned whether the subject might not be able to celebrate the New Year, but with the high acceptance of everyone nowadays there was no taboo. It could compete with other Lunar New Year films. "Like everyone everyday is the best day for me, so the film can celebrate the Lunar New Year. It would be the best to go until the Ching Ming Festival." Hui Koon Man also agreed that at least half of the audience would not mind the subject for the Lunar New Year films. As long as the movie was entertaining it was fine. The audience now would not definitely demand madcap. "We like comedy with a sense of humor, even if we make it it wouldn't be like the comedy before. The impression THE LAST DANCE has given me is that the audience might not need to be so crazy. It only has to make sense and has meaning. You don't have to laugh once every minute. As long as the film is interesting, you can cry once a minute." Speaking of the two of them planning to work together again in 3 years, Tze Wa said that "chief helmsman" Hui Koon Man was in charge of everything. Hui Koon Man pointed out that Director Chen said that he wanted to make a comedy, and this movie has been a great inspiration for creators. Smart audiences like to watch new subjects. Tze Wa said that the success of THE LAST DANCE was because that it saw the "hell" that many people had. Everyone had mountains and valleys, so their comedy would face everyone's mountains and valleys and resonate with the audience. "THE LAST DANCE has given us great lessons, to take care of our own feelings, the mountains and the valleys, the happiness and unhappiness." Hui Koon Man said, "The movie has given everyone a little inspiration. I wish that in 2025 the whole Hong Kong can "break hell", start over and take off!" As for the decent box office around the world, Tze Wah said that was worth being happy about. With this subject the sense of satisfaction has been doubled. He joked that he hoped the movie would be able to be released in Africa. If Africans could relate too then it could not be topped. Hui Koon Man said, "My dream is that Hong Kong film can go all around the world, without using too many dialogue. As long as people can relate it would be just as popular. Like the 1980s African comedy THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY was a global hit." Tze Wah revealed that he and Hui Koon Man went to Africa to learn from GODS' director. Hui Koon Man was asked about his confidence for winning the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor next year, he humbly said that he was underqualified. He heard that several films were decently made, and actors performed well too. He picked Wong Tze Wah to win the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor. "In the film Tze Wah was extremely philistine, always messing around but had a little conscience. This role is so difficult to play. I think Tze Wah performed better than me, and I disagreed with some viewers who say that Tze Wah has a shade of his stand up comedy." Tze Wah said, "Awards are very subjective, whether there are awards or not, even more important is to make a good movie. I hope to make another good movie next time. Of course, thank you very much Hui Koon Man for so subjectively picking me." Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Catherine Chau Ka Yee and Tommy Chu Pak Hong while dining at the Tokyo Film Festival earlier guessed the box office of THE LAST DANCE. Recalling that the film has not yet been released, Wai Sze Nga said, "The director and Tze Wah guessed HK$ 50 million. When I guessed 100 million, I was already getting cursed out for guessing randomly. Pa (Michael Hui Koon Man) guessed 120 million, Brother (Chu Pak-kang) guessed 150 million. In the end Brother won." Dayo Wong Tze Wah's guess of HK$ 53 million was very conservative. Chu Pak Hong admitted that he was a "madman", the director and Tze Wah were conservative so he won. Chau Ka Yee joined later with a guess of 220 million. Regarding how to celebrate the box office success, Chu Pak Hong suggested for Wai Sze Nga to sing and sing 3 full songs. Wai Sze Nga chuckled and pointed out that she would already become a singer if she was good at singing. Even her manager Mani Fok Man Hei told her that she might as well concentrate on acting, because she was completely off key. Wai Sze Nga instead told Chau Ka Yee to sing because she has always sung well; Chau Ka Yee joked that if Chu Pak Hong danced the ballet in tights to accompany her she would agree. Chu Pak Hong said that Wai Sze Nga had to sing for him to be willing to dance. * (2024/12/25) Nearly two months since the film CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING) was released, its Hong Kong box office has exceeded more than HK$ 40 million and the actors in the film still kept up the relay to thank the audience for their support. A few days ago, the actors of CESIUM FALLOUT even invaded the Hong Kong Coliseum and "reunited" with Lau Tak Wa (Wa Jai), who played the environmental protection expert in the film, and celebrated the winter solstice on and off the stage. Busy with the "Today...... Is The Day" concert tour for months, Wa Jai was unable to promote with his CESIUM FALLOUT teammates. However he was reunited with his CESIUM FALLOUT team on the night of the winter solstice. Under the leadership of director Anthony Pun Yiu Ming, a group of nine people including Louise Wong Dan Nei, Fish Liew Chi Yu, Dee Ho Kai Wa, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Leung Chung Heng and Locker Lam Ka Hei, Wesley Wong Kai Kit, Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yee) and others appeared at the Hong Kong Coliseum to cheer for Wa Jai. They even deliberately took the time to come prepared, and held up the "CESIUM FALLOUT Lifetime Teammates Support You" light board in the audience to surprise Wa Jai on the stage. Seeing that a group of CESIUM FALLOUT teammates he has not seen in a long time there to cheer for him, Wa Jai couldn't help but thank them. "How are you, all the brothers? Thank you very much for all this time, during my concert, working hard to promote for the film all over and making a good performance for the movie." Wa Jai even urged all the fans present and the audience to watch CESIU FALLOUT in the theaters this Christmas and New Year. Wa Jai even interacted with them to create an atmosphere, as he hurriedly asked everyone, "Who do you love the most? How much? For how long?" The good brothers in the audience shouted loudly right away "Love Lau Tak Wa the most! Love you for 10,000 years!" They were very involved and cooperative, and brought the live atmosphere high. Dee revealed that his family learned that he had tickets to see Lau Tak Wa's concert and immediately kicked him out of the Winter Solstice dinner; because they knew that he was a loyal fan of Wa Jai and getting a ticket was difficult. So this winter solstice, the CESIUM FALLOUT team also spent their time with Mr. Lau at the HK Coliseum. After watching the whole concert, Locker said mischievously, "Not only do I feel that Mr. Lau has returned to the team, but I also seem to be performing on stage like him. I have eye contact with Mr. Lau!" Leung Chung Heng joked, "Mr. Lau and I checked the box, said I do, I actually have become his woman!" This night's concert brought a lot of heartfelt memories to the team. Everyone wished Mr. Lau continuing Good Show, and told him to have a good rest and continue to tough it out. Sure enough, they were indeed lifetime teammates. * (2024/12/25) The new film THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON) won the single-day box office championship its opening day in Hong Kong on December 21st, and the word-of-mouth and raves continued! THE PROSECUTOR officially released a new video yesterday. In the clip the MC Cheung Tin Fu played detective chased after Fung Ho Yeung, who for several thousand dollars lent his address to lawbreakers and got into trouble; After MC revealed his identity, Fung Ho Yeung knew that something was wrong and immediately and ran wildly. He even climbed on the fence to escape, but he was accidentally injured while climbing the fence. The director of THE PROSECUTOR Donnie Yen Chi Tan immediately stopped and shouted, "Are you OK!" He then stepped forward to check on the actor and gave Fung Ho Yeung a bottle of water. Although Fung Ho Yeung said that there was no problem, Yen Chi Tan bluntly said, "The most important thing is to take care of the actors!" He told Fung Ho Yeung that he must first deal with the injuries before he could continue filming. Yen Chi Tan has shown his style as a director or an elder. When it comes to filming the pursuit, MC who was working on his first action movie said that the scene of identifying himself to Fung Ho Yeung had the bad takes. "I have some little habits. I am more active. Although it's just a line, 'Police, now I suspect you have drugs in your package', my expressions and gestures must be adjusted. I have to be convincing. Through Mr. Yen's guidance, I can achieve the desired effect." * (2024/12/24) The 2nd "Bank of China (Hong Kong) Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Section Half Marathon" yesterday held a starting ceremony with the support of artists such as Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Raymond Wong Ho Yin, Brian Chu Man Hon and Karl Ting Tsz Long. Wai Sze Nga said that she liked to train her endurance with long-distance running, and felt that long-distance running was the same as her acting career; although there would be ups and downs, the most important thing was to know how to appreciate the scenery along the way. She pointed out that she has often "run" recently as she joked, "Running for publicity and thanking the audiences!" She also revealed that her family lived in Sheung Shui many years ago. She tried to run the hill with zero equipment, but finally found that she was lost. "I thought I knew the way near the house, so I ran without even taking my phone; but as I ran I realized that the road that was not the same. I even saw villagers herding sheep. I didn't know that where I ran to." Knowing that something was wrong, she immediately asked the villager for directions and then took a taxi home. "I didn't bring my wallet, when I left the taxi I had to run back into the house to get the money." Playing mother and son with Wai Sze Nga in the movie SHOW ME YOUR LOVE (SIU SAU HING DAI SAU), Wong Ho Yin praised her movie THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) as entertaining and even watched it twice. He joked that she has changed from Mother to Idol in his mind. He is about to run the half marathon, and has been actively preparing for the race recently. He aimed to finish the race in 1 hour and 50 minutes. He said that he gained 20 pounds for his role half a year ago, and now he was actively losing weight. However next to him, Wai Sze Nga smiled and pointed out that she has recently been "fat from eating" because she has flown around to thank the audience and enjoyed at the local food. Was she afraid of being accused of being pregnant? She laughed and said, "No! I can just come out and clarify!" * (2024/12/24) Raymond Wong Pak Ming, MC Cheung Tin Fu and Shirley Chan Yan Yin the night before went to thank the audience of their new movie THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON). Rarely performed action scenes, MC admitted that he rarely exercised. In order to strengthen his detective image, he spent several days under the tanning light. Earlier Wong Pak Ming's cover of MC's PILLOW TALK became a hot topic. If the movie would perform well at the box office, they did not rule out a real duet on the online channel. THE PROSECUTOR has received more than 100 million yuan in the mainland. Producer Wong Pak Ming was happy with the results, and the MC hoped to rely on the audience's word of mouth to pump up the box office. Speaking of having a lot of action scenes in the film, MC said that he did not have the opportunity to fight against lead actor Donnie Yen Chi Tan. "Although we didn't fight, every time I did an action performance Chi Tan supervised on the set. He has a lot of confidence in me. I would be very nervous when he was present. Ultimately action scene isn't my expertise, and I had to perform what he excels at in front of him." MC said that he learned a wrestling move that Chi Tan commonly used, but he only learned the entry level while Chi Tan made an upgraded version. Thus he did not feel that he was a good fighter, and he had to rely on the film team to help him present it in front of the camera. Playing the role of a barrister in the film, Chan Yan Yin said that she would reserve the venue and invited the Chan family and friends to support the movie. She has already asked her boyfriend Sammy Sum Chun Hin to watch the movie on a Christmas Eve date. She had a passion scene with Julian Cheung Chi Lam in the film. Would she be embarrassed when watching it with her boyfriend? Chan Yan Yin joked, "I hope I will be safe on Christmas Eve." Chan Yan Yin said that the intimate scene with Cheung Chi Lam was extreme conceptually. She knew that the director shot a lot of scenes, but in the end deleted a lot. She joked that he might be saving them for the extended version release. Chan Yan Yin said that the intimate scene was only explained with a few words in the script. She had to discuss it with the director on the spot during the shooting. She said, "Cheung Chi Lam is very professional, thanks to him for his guidance and leading me into the character. The director and Cheung Chi Lam saw that I was so nervous, they embraced and showed me how to do it. Their demonstration was so exciting that it should be caught on film. I feel that as a girl I couldn't lose to them. In the end we got it in one take." * (2024/12/23) "Malaysian Goddess" Lin Minchen was absent from the premiere of her movie HAUNTING CALL (SAU GEI GEIN GWAI) on the grounds that her passport was "missing". Director Danny Pang Fat expressed his displeasure and ridiculed the incident for being stranger than making ghost movies. Lin Minchen urgently "mended the wok", contacted the director to explain and apologize in order to calm his anger. Already accepted the apology, Pang Fat laughed and talked about helping Lin Minchen do the impossible during filming and made her clogged tear ducts shed tears. Both Lin Minchen and Jessica Chan Yee Chun's performance pleasantly surprised him, as he praised them for their willingness to contribute to the work. Owing debts for his beloved wife's medical treatment, Pang Fat said that he has solved his financial difficulties, and was grateful to the people around him for helping him through the hardship. The incident drastically changed his view on life. He has learned to share his worries with others, already arranging how to spend the rest of his life. The Pang Fat directed HAUNTING CALL told the story of revenge due to school bullying and death. He found a group of young actors Lin Minchen, Jessica Chan Yee Chun, Kiki Tam Kei Kei and Yvette Chan Shing Yu to perform, revealing that they had different personalities. During filming, some needed to be scolded, some had to be guided slowly, and some had the freedom to improvise; but all in all, the girls were young and energetic enough, willing to take risks, and their performance was surprising. "I specifically want to praise Jessica who was bullied. In order to achieve the effect, she was really abused, including being beaten, set on fire and had her hair cut. I explained it clearly to Jessica beforehand so that she was mentally prepared. During the shoot, she was in so much pain that she kept shedding tears; but she still held them in. I also asked Jessica's bullies Tam Kei Kei and Chan Shing Yu to really hit, and the two of them were really brave enough to do it. I gritted my teeth and was reluctant to cut. I just watched how they hit. Thanks to the cooperation of several actors, I saw them open up for the role and had a lot of fire." Playing the role of Internet celebrity "Lily", Lin Minchen also pleasantly surprised Pang Fat. "The biggest surprise was that after she finished filming a crying scene, she boasted to me, 'Everyone who have shot my crying scenes only shed tears in one eye. The other eye had no way to shed tears.' She made me sound like I helped her do the impossible. Since I saw her boasting like that, I kept shooting both of her eyes in tears; sometimes even her nose was running before I accepted the take. She did not get mad and instead came over to praise me, 'Director, you really are amazing.'" He said that the future of movies will rely on this new generation of actors. Regardless of their acting skills, at least they are willing to contribute to their works. In order to coordinate with the mobile phone driven story of HAUNTING CALL, Pang Fat abandoned large-scale film shooting equipment and shot the whole film with a mobile phone. It seemed simple, but it was not easy at all. Just in pre production testing different phone models, different functions to shoot the different results, he already took a long time. "Day scene and night scene, sped up and slow motion, the visual quality and effects that different phones made were different. HAUNTING CALL is a theatrical movie, so after deciding which phone to use and what features to shoot each shot, I still have to rent a cinema and put the clips on the big screen to see if they meet the requirements before making the final decision." He denied that mobile phone production was more cost-effective, and that the manpower required was no different from that of a large camera. He said with a smile, "Cinematographer costs are just as expensive, they aren't cheaper." Known as the "ghost king director", the last time Pang Fat directed a Hong Kong-made ghost film was IN LOVE WITH THE DEAD (CHUNG OI) in 2007 with stars Stephy Tang Lai Yan and Shawn Yue Man Lok. Making Hong Kong style ghost films again after so many years, would he worry about the box office results? Pang Fat said that he has been rolling in the film industry for many years, and knew the rules of the game very well. The most important thing was to shoot the subject he wanted to shoot. As long as he did not "take advantage" during the production and had no guilty conscience then he was fine. The box office was very hard to predict. "Nowadays just the film scheduling, one more or one less it is beyond the director's control." Pang Fat admitted that nowadays the audience's preference was very hard to grasp, making film operations more and more difficult. The problem was not limited to Hong Kong but around the world. "The whole film industry is facing a great problem, because the viewing mode of the audience has completely changed. You have to set a certain time to go to a certain place to watch a movie, and you have to pay too. Ask yourself honestly, how many movie have you paid out of your own pocket to watch in a year? Actually the number of people watching movies has not decreased, but there are more online platforms. The audience watches over the Internet instead of going to the theaters." Pang Fat said that a movie has a life; like with THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK), no one dared to say that it would definitely break the HK$ 115 million box office record of A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG) to become the box office champion of Hong Kong Chinese films. This is the fate of THE LAST DANCE, "The audience happens to want to watch it at this time, then they have good results; if they don't want to watch it then they wouldn't! Remember that a movie from creation, preparation, production to release could easily be a matter of a year or two. If someone told you the movie would definitely be a hit two years later, he wouldn't believe it. How could anything so magical happen, even fortune tellers aren't that good." Pang Fat said that he has never encountered any supernatural incident since he started making ghost movies. He joked that he was the most afraid of having no money. Speaking of last year when he spent all his wealth for the cancer treatment of his wife, he was unable to pay back the HK$ 2 million debt and filed for bankruptcy. Fortunately he received help from all walks of life to solve his difficulties. He said, "I already paid off my debts, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here today. This incident has changed my outlook on life a lot, and it is enough to be healthy every day. How to live each day for the rest of the days has also already been arranged and managed." Has he learned to share your worries with others and not carry them all alone? Pang Fat said, "My brother (Oxide Pang Shun) has always helped me to share the burden, but how much can he share? Everyone has their own families and burdens. My personality has always disliked finding people to share the burden with, but now I have learned to speak up." * (2024/12/23) The film CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING)'s director Anthony Pun Yiu Ming and actors Louise Wong Dan Nei, Fish Liew Chi Yu, Kenny Wong Tak Bun, Locker Lam Ka Hei, Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Dee Ho Kai Wa, Ivana Wong Yuen Chi, Leung Chung Hang and Wesley Wong Hoi Kit yesterday with more than 200 fans cruised the Victoria Harbor together, celebrated Christmas in advance and exchanged gifts. The actors even sang Christmas carols on the deck and urged passing ships to go to the movies and support the film. Off camera everyone had a lot of fun, but on camera CESIUM FALLOUT brought out serious topics. The film showed through intuitive big-screen visual effects that "foreign garbage" has been lurking in Hong Kong for decades, finally mercilessly gave Hong Kong residents a blow to the head. These "foreign garbage" broke out of the deadly harm to hurt every innocent person. Wong Dan Nei's 10-year-old daughter also watched the film. She pointed out that her daughter was curious and asked questions, and believed that it would be a good opportunity for parent-child education. Wong Dan Nei and Liew Chi Yu were happy that the Hong Kong box office of CESIUM FALLOUT has exceeded HK$ 40 million, and said that they would continue to work hard to thank the audience. They hoped that the box office will continue to rise. Regarding the release of their radiation makeup photos from the film, Wong Dan Nei said that no one wanted the ending to be too sad so they were not shown in the movie; just as a friend while watching the movie already said that its intensity kept viewers from breathing and drove them to tears. However she hoped that through CESIUM FALLOUT, the audience could reflect on and pay attention to environmental protection. She said, "The deleted scenes have appeared again in front of the audience. I hope they would make everyone understand the harm of radiation and pay attention to the problem. My daughter has seen these photos and the movie, when she watched the movie she was so tense that she kept asking questions. I believe it will be educational for the next generation." Speaking of Wong Dan Nei suffering from gastroenteritis a few days ago, Liew Chi Yu was also plagued by minor illnesses in the past two years. She was also seasick on the boat, and they joked that they wanted to maintain their health together. Liew Chi Yu said that although she felt seasick, she did not want to take motion sickness pills as she did not wanted to be sleepy and unable to enjoy herself with everyone. "The party atmosphere is very happy, helps divert my attention. I hope the CESIUM FALLOUT box office would continue to raise." Wong Dan Nei also hoped that the new film would continue to perform well and suggested that next time they could take a flight. Liew Chi Yu said that she has been getting better recently. "Earlier I have started to quit drinking, cold drinks and fried food, and I recently went home to Malaysia for more than a week to attend my sister's wedding. The climate there was good and I could properly rest. Because both sisters were already married, Mama is focusing her attention on me and treats me like a princess. So I really am a little homesick. (Were you urged to marry by relatives and friends during this trip?) Of course, and by many of them." Next to her, Wong Dan Nei joked that she also wanted to urge her to get married and pointed out that she had vomited blood due to gastroenteritis earlier and needed to be hospitalized. Liew Chi Yu immediately shared her ways to maintain good health with her and urged her to see a Chinese medicine practitioner for her body to heal. She also made soup for and gave health products to her and maintain good health together. Performing concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum in February next year, Ivana Wong Yuen Chi took the opportunity to ask Kenny Wong Tak Bun for advice on weight loss because she was eager to lose 10 kilograms of weight. Wong Tak Bun immediately said, "Who said that you must lose weight to start a show? I don't recommend losing too much in a short period of time, just like I lost 10 pounds because of the pressure of performing a stage play." Wong Yuen Chi joked that she could consider performing a stage play before her concerts. Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun revealed that he would attend a shopping center event on Christmas and celebrate with fans. Guy group ERROR member Dee Ho Kai Wa said that he would go caroling with his group, and even asked Ngai Chun Sun to help promote ERROR's concert. He boasted that he would treat him to the show as payment, and Jeffrey agreed right away. Locker Lam Ka Hei revealed that he has already invited his girlfriend Marf Yau Yin Tung, Jeffrey and Dee to a Christmas party. Would he introduce girls to Dee? Dee joked, "I have a lot of girlfriends! I hope the most for Jeffrey and Locker to help promote ERROR's concert in January next year. In order to thank them I would invite them to watch the show." Marf will be the opening guest performer for the British band Coldplay's concert tour at Kai Tak Sports Park in April next year. He said that when his girlfriend got the news she was very emotional. He was also happy for his girlfriend, and congratulated her. He said that he has always enjoyed his girlfriend's performance on the stage and was confident at certain "success" for his girlfriend! He also intended to support her, but he did not know how to get tickets. So he considered being a staff member to help his girlfriend carry the water bottle. Speaking of his ex Kayan Ng's break up, he admitted frankly that he has learned from the report but he has not been in contact for a long time. With his current status it was inconvenient for him to disturb her or comment, but he believed that she was probably OK. * (2024/12/23) Guy group MIRROR member Ian Chan Cheuk Yin appeared in Sha Tin yesterday to thank the audience of his movie LAST SONG FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG) with co-star Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yee) and director Jill Leung Lai Yin, attracting a large number of fans waiting outside the cinema. He was pleasantly surprised by the sudden appearance of his good brother Anson Kong (AK) in the audience. Speaking of the most profound scene during the filming, Ian mentioned Dior Cheng Yee Kin. "I saw him on the beach, but at that time I didn't know that Ekin Cheng was the future me; I just thought he was so familiar, but a little strange. Because outsiders have no way to enter So Sing Wa's world, but he and I had a sense of belonging and familiarity, and were able to interact. (If in the real world, you really meet the future you what would you say?) I would shake hands with him, tell him thank you for the hard work and keep working hard." Were this character's emotional scenes very hard to interpret? Ian felt that the character tended to be introverted. When he performed he needed to make the people around him sense the change, but how would he express that. If the performance felt more everyday, he would be even more able to express the emotions. As for Hui Yan Yee the most memorable scene for her was at the church. She praised Ian for having already thought up different melodies on the guitar before the performance. Ian explained that he improvised them. If he had to play them again later he might not be able to 100%. How did she feel when he faced Cheng Yee Kin? Hui Yan Yee praised Ekin for as a great elder without any idol baggage. " He is very kind, very happy, with him on the set the team become more relaxed. Off camera Ekin constantly looks for people to chat with, jumping around all over the set. Yet as soon as the cameras roll he would be very focused and attentive. Maybe he aw how nervous I was and played with me specifically to ease the tension." Also, Ian's MIRROR group mate AK snuck into the audience to give him surprise support and then even jumped on the stage to cheer for him. Not noticing from the beginning to the end, Ian was very pleasantly surprised. AK said that Hong Kong has not have this type of fantasy romance films in a very long time, and praised that the movie as entertaining and all the actors for their performance. Director Leung Lai Yin spoke of Ian's character using his birthday 1016 (October 16th) as his cell phone code, which happened to be AK's birthday and said that it was a beautiful coincidence. "LAST SONG FOR YOU began production on October 16th last year, which blessed 'So Sing Wa' with a birthday on this day. I feel it's fate." * (2024/12/23) Mandy Wong Chi Man's birthday was on the winter solstice the day before yesterday. Her friend Nancy Wu Ting Yana posed a beautiful photo of her cutting the cake and sent her blessings. "Always smiling every day, continue to break through yourself, be happy." After Wong Chi Man left the TVB nest, she made a lot of new developments and performed in the movie THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON). Actually she and her co-star Francis Ng Chun Yu had the same birthday. The film company made a birthday picture for the two, and made this coincidence public. * (2024/12/22) Jo Koo (Kok Cho Lam) played Sean Lau Ching Wan's wife "Kam Yin" in the movie PAPA. Although she did not have many scenes, her natural exchanges with Ching Wan made the audience feel their strong love. She said that whenever she wondered whether she was acting too bland, Ching Wan would say, "It works, it's enough", giving encouragement and affirmation, "No one has ever told me this, I have always acted in a mess, Ching Wan made me believe in my acting skills and no longer doubt myself." She praised Ching Wan's superb acting skills, especially the scene where he was deceived by a prostitute. The various feelings that the character has been enduring in his heart exploded instantly, which was moving. Kok Cho Lam (Siu Kok) never thought that she would play the role of "Kam Yin", revealing that she is good friends with director Philip Yung Tsz Kwong and often talks about creating together. She has read the script of PAPA as early as 8 years ago, and they did not talk about working together at that time. "The script focuses on depicting Papa, and there is not much about Mama; so I never fantasize that I am Mama in the film, purely reading it as a script. It wasn't until Yung Tsz Kwong started filming PAPA that he needed me, an actor he once described as having a very heavy sense of life. In addition I was similar in age with the character, so he invited me to participate. Ching Wan didn't agree to perform at that time." Siu Kok does not have many scenes in the film, but each scene is very interesting. They are important moments for Ching Wan, full of sparks. You can see the love between her and Ching Wan. Siu Kok said with a smile that the production budget was limited, and she had neither money nor time to ask Ching Wan to have a meal to cultivate his feelings in advance. She did not even have special communication about the bed scene, so she filmed as soon as he started. She did not resist filming this bed scene because the plot required it. "Scene by scene, Ching Wan and I have always loved each other deeply from dating to getting married, and then becoming parents. However I also asked the director if it was a category III film and he said no. It was a warm film, not a pornographic film. Knowing that it was a category II film, I had even less worries. I didn't discuss the details with the director, so I was relieved to leave it to the director." She praised the director for handling this scene very well, using editing techniques to show a physical and psychological battle, and all kinds of emotions in his heart when he went to a prostitute after losing his wife. Was it hatred? Guilt? Pity? Or did he miss his wife? He wanted to suppress it, but in the end he still couldn't hold it back. He blew up in an instant, going crazy and crying. "This scene of Ching Wan is really a classic!" Siu Kok praised Ching Wan's superb acting skills. He has created countless classic roles in the past, such as MAD DETECTIVE's Chan Kwai Bun and HIMALAYA SINGH's Uncle Panic, but this time for PAPA he does not shape or act at all; he gets along like a family, so naturally. She also thanked Ching Wan for her encouragement and affirmation. "Whenever I wondered if it was feasible or enough to act so plainly, he kept encouraging me and saying, 'It works, it's enough', and instead asked me if I didn't believe him. He is really experienced, he knows what is enough. No one has ever said this to me, I have always been messing around, Ching Wan makes me believe in my acting skills and I no longer have any doubt". The film told the story of a son who killed his mother and sister due to schizophrenia. A member of the "Early Psychosis Foundation", Siu Kok was asked with such great pressure how should Hong Kong people relieve it? Siu Kok said, "Stress reduction and mental illness are two different things. Mental illness has to be faced and requires seeing a doctor. The director is an expert in strange cases, and he may be more profitable, comfortable and handy in filming strange cases; but when he did the research and interviewed the prototype characters, he was deeply moved and found that the character of Papa was more worthy of discussion. Thus he brought out the information of this disease through the film, actually there is a lot of support for this disease in the community." With two daughters aged 12 and 10, has Siu Kok paid attention to her children's emotions? She said, "My two daughters and I are in OK moods, we get along like friends and talk about everything. I instilled in them that no matter what happens, home is their strongest support. I don't have the mentality of wanting my child to become a dragon, what grades I want them to achieve, the most important thing is that they like and are willing, so that they will study hard. A lot of things can't be changed by force!" PAPA's director Philip Yung Tsz Kwong accepted the interview on Commercial Radio's SHOWBIZ and shared the process of working with Sean Lau Ching Wan for the first time. PAPA has been in preparation for 10 years, and waited for Lau Ching Wan for two years before the filming started. Yung Tsz Kwong said that he liked Lau Ching Wan's performance, because he had a casual feeling. He would not be nervous about his image, and while Lau Ching Wan in the drama IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY could be very "street", he had never seen Ching Wan play a street character in a movie. He did not know where his mission came from. He really wanted to work together, and present a "street" Lau Ching Wan to the audience. As for the script being able to attract Ching Wan, Yung Tsz Kwong said that he went through normal channels to find Lau Ching Wan's manager. His manager May gave him a little tip. He said, "She told me to print the entire script out neatly and so he can read it like a novel." In the film Lau Ching Wan and Kok Cho Lam (Siu Kok) had revealing bed scenes, Yung Tsz Kwong said that neither the lead actor or the lead actress hesitated. "The original script was not described in such detail. Siu Kok and Ching Wan were the ones who asked for serious filming, saying that they couldn't easily done with a cheat cut. Our movie is so realistic. This scene is very challenging and difficult, but they are willing to take the initiative to take the shoot further." Yung Tsz Kwong directed PORT OF CALL (DAP HUET CHUM MUI) in 2015 and won 7 awards at the 35th Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress and Best Screenplay, etc., but lost the best film to TEN YEARS. He said that he was not unhappy. "I have seen this movie, it is a good movie, what can I say about losing to a good movie?" PORT OF CALL opened the mainland market for Yung Tsz Kwong, as he was invited to direct the Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Chiu Wai starred 200 million yuan co-production WHEN THE WIND BLOWS (FUNG JOI HEI SI), but it took two years to be released after filming and the mainland box office was less than 50 million. At the time he received negative comments from fans and friends about his film, "I was very disappointed, but not at the box office. At first the audience thought that I was very Hong Kong, as if I represented some voices; but after the release of this film, their impression of me was swept away. Everyone dog piled on me. Some friends became so strange, which was what I was the unhappiest about." * (2024/12/22) Michael Hui Koon Man and producer Raymond Wong Pak Ming went to the theater yesterday on the winter solstice to thank the audience for the movie THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON) and went to 8 shows in a row. The outside world reacted well to the film, and the box office results of the priority release in the mainland were satisfactory. Wong Pak Ming was satisfied and confident that the mainland box office of THE PROSECUTOR would exceed 100 million yuan; Hui Koon Man hoped that it would make 5 billion yuan. Hui Koon Man played his humorous nature, and laughed that when Wong Pak Ming matched him with Donnie Yen Chi Tan that day, he originally thought it was for IP MAN 5 because he longed to make a fight film. "I have a dancing background and should look good fighting. At first I thought that I could play a villain role and fight against Yen Chi Tan, but I was a little disappointed when I played a judge. I once asked for adding a fight scene for the judge seeking revenge, but Yen Chi Tan was the director of the film; it didn't work out in the end." He claimed to be able to sing and dance. Why did he not become a dance singer in the past? He brought up the past. "I failed. My little brother Hui Koon Kit (Sam) and I once sang together, and later even hosted THE HUI BROTHERS SHOW together. I sang a few times in the show. Later the high ranking executive at the time (Selina) Chow Liang Shuk Yee persuaded me that being funny was enough, and leave the singing to Sam." Wong Pak Ming earlier covered MC Cheung Tin Fu's song PILLOW TALK, and the video became a hot topic on the Internet. Has he and Hui Koon Man considered forming a new guy group? Wong Pak Ming took the opportunity to promote the new film "Singing is just for fun. Because all entertainment venues were closed during the epidemic, I opened a band room for self-entertainment. Hui Koon Man have been there too. He sang well and vigorously without an audience, so I think Chow Leung Suk Yee made a 'misjudgment' (THE PROSECUTOR's Chinese title)!" Hui Koon Man believed that Wong Pak Ming was very business-minded. Most of the movies he invested in made money, so he believed that his business talent should be better than singing. The Hui Koon Man starred THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) made over 100 million yuan at the mainland box office. He hoped that Hong Kong films would continue to maintain high quality, and a group of young local directors would make more serious new subjects, which would help attract mainland audiences. Wong Pak Ming revealed that Donnie Yen Chi Tan originally planned to start production on IP MAN 5 or FLASH POINT RESURGENCE, but finally chose to shoot THE PROSECUTOR, "Yen Chi Tan was initially worried about whether the subject matter would be more alternative, but I think that today's audiences demand freshness. Aside from wanting to watch fight scenes, having a story would also be very important." * (2024/12/22) The Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi has focused on her mainland development in recent years, but has always been approached by many film companies that hoped that she would make a film "come back". Having worked with Pak Chi on many films, Wong Jing actually wanted Pak Chi to participate in his new film, but because he could not get in touch wit her Kitty Zhang Yuqi took the role! After taking a break for nearly a year, Pak Chi recently did a live broadcast on the Internet. In just two hours, she ushered in sales of more than 100 million yuan, and the "Queen of Gold Absorption" quickly returned to its position! Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi won the Best Actress at the 23rd Hong Kong Film Awards in her early years with the movie LOST IN TIME (MONG BUT LIU). Her acting skills have been highly recognized, but in recent years she has focused on the mainland development and taking care of her family. She has rarely taken on movies, but reportedly many scripts still have been offered to her. Having collaborated with Pak Chi on HONESTLY (JUET JUNG HO NAM YUN) and SEX AND THE BEAUTIES (SING GUM DOH SI), Wong Jing originally wanted to ask her to make the movie INVINCIBLE ASIA, but unfortunately because she could not be contacted the role fell on the mainland actress Kitty Zhang Yuqi. The film should be launched on major online platforms in the mainland next year. Having missed the filming of INVINCIBLE, Pak Chi began to rest at the beginning of this year. After nearly a year of seclusion, she "appeared" again at the beginning of this month. In less than a month, the work has already been overwhelming. Recently she was a guest in the live broadcast room of a large online shopping platform, and achieved record sales of more than 100 million yuan in just two hours of "business", which was quite good. During the live broadcast, Pak Chi, who has performed many classic roles, was asked by the host, "Are you worried that the classic roles will be forgotten by the audience?" She replied firmly: "No, I always talk about women must be confident, and classic is not an adjective. From my first movie THE KING OF COMEDY to the present, I have this mentality. I want to move myself first, and then let the audience feel it. The second the audience sees it, that second will be deeply rooted in their hearts and they will not forget it!" She continued, "So with every tear I have to move myself, I have to shed it myself. Only when I am moved would the audience feel it!" Aside from talking about movies, Pak Chi also talked about her own life. When it comes to the topic of acne, she pointed out that her two sons, Lucas and Quintus, are both entering puberty. Their skin is more or less affected, so they must rely on enough sleep and self- discipline to maintain their skin. As for her own maintenance methods, in addition to living with self-discipline, she must also maintain a cheerful mood, keep positive energy, in short, as long as she feels beautiful she is fine. Many Pak Chi fans like her song POLARIS, which could be described as the K song choice back then. Pak Chi also revealed that when she sang karaoke she was a "microphone hog". Once the microphone was in her hand she would not let go. If she could not grab it, she would order a lot of food. While she was eating herself, she also hoped that she can use food to make everyone lower the microphone so she could continue to sing. * (2024/12/22) The Albert Mak Kai Kwong directed, Louis Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai), Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Philip Ng Won Lung and others starred Lunar New Year film HIT N FUN (LUM SI KUET DAU) will be released on the 28th of next month (the 29th before the Lunar New Year). Yesterday Goo Jai led the team to promote in advance at a shopping center, attracting a large group of fans to look on. Goo Jai said that he promoted in advance because of the importance attached to the film, he would work hard on audience appreciation events and propose to go to the flower market and watch fireworks together. Of course he hoped that the box office would be the more the better, but he did not dare to think that there would be a box office of more than HK$ 100 million. Chau Sau Na had adhesive tape on her leg because she had 5 stitches due to an injury during filming and was left with a scar. She hoped that the film would be able to inherit the current box office momentum of Hong Kong films and achieve good results. Goo Jai, Leung Wing Kei, Louise Wong Dan Nei, Chau Sau Na, Ng Won Lung, Tony Wu Tsz Tung, German Cheung Man Kit, Peter Chan Charm Man, Harriet Yeung Sze Man and child actor Wong Wan Ching joined director Mak Kai Kwong to attend the promotional event at a shopping mall in Ma On Shan yesterday. The group was divided into two to play "Guess the Emperor" with 400 fans on the spot, and some fans were excited to get close to their idols and were unwilling to leave the stage. The scene was a bit chaotic, as Goo Jai immediately called on fans to guess then leave but pay attention to safety. When he introduced the characters in the film, he humorously said, "My name is Chung Lei, and I opened a "Chung Lei Dormitory" (sounds like China Travel Service) and everyone can find me when they travel to the mainland." HIT N FUN was promoted in advance. Goo Jai said that because of the importance attached to the film, he has not yet decided whether he would lead a team to thank the audience on the opening day. "I am very busy on the twenty-ninth before the New Year, I have to clean the home, worship gods, have family reunion dinner. I will try my best to cooperate with the company arrangements." He did not know how many audience appreciation shows there would be, but he said that he could not sacrifice everyone's vacation. Every year only the Lunar New Year's Day to the Lunar 3rd were holidays, so he will promote again on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year. Leung Wing Kei said that he would cooperate with the promotion before going on a trip, pointing out that the film fortunately had a big cast. She would be able to leave Hong Kong for a few days, and then meet up with everyone again to promote it. For the box office, Goo Jai believed that the most important thing was that the audience would be happy. Was he confident that it would pass HK$ 100 million? He let out a "whoa" when he heard this. "What? Now every one has to break 100 million? However I am confident that everyone will watch it." THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) topped the box office of Chinese films in Hong Kong, would he hope that HIT N FUN would break its record? Goo Jai said that he did not dare to talk about it, thinking that the most important thing for everyone to be happy when the movie was released on the Lunar New Year, and he did not dare to estimate how much the box office was. "How can I guess, the more the better." Leung Wing Kei thought that it was necessary to think on the bright side, and of course she hoped that the box office will exceed 100 million. What tricks would he use to pump up the box office? Goo Jai and Leung Wing Kei joked that they would not give away lai see or thank the audience. Goo Jai proposed to go to the flower market and watch the fireworks together, and do the things he would not normally do all at once. However he immediately turned back on his words and said, "I am just joking, I will give out lai see. I have not been visited the flower market for nearly 20 years, as for the fireworks I watched at home." Leung Wing Kei said with a look of envy, "You can see the fireworks at your home, but I can't from mine." Goo Jai joked, "I have been watching it on TV." Gigi Leung Wing Kei watched Andy Lau Tak Wa's concert a few days ago. When Wa Jai sang the theme song of their movie FULL THROTTLE (LIT FOR JIN CHEH), her eyes were full of tears. She said that she recalled the memories of making the film at the age of 19. She was so moved, and praised Wa Jai as very hard working so he is still so popular today. "Although there are no guests at the concert, it is just as exciting". Wong Dan Nei was absent from CESIUM FALLOUT (FUN SING) audience appreciation events earlier due to acute gastritis, saying that she was admitted to the hospital for pain and nausea injections. Then she was on a lighter diet, and now she has lost a little weight. Fortunately her husband Sheldon Lo (Law Hau Yung) returned to Hong Kong due to school holidays and has been able to take care of her. She pointed out that her husband will watch CESIUM FALLOUT in a few days, and was also looking forward to watching her fight scene in HIT N FUN. "He wants to see how level my fighting is at, saying that after I recover he will practice kung fu with me." Ng Won Lung could not help but laugh when he heard this, because he knew Lo Hau Yung and has practiced kung fu with him. He knew that Lo Hau Yung was good, and Wong Dan Nei was no match for him. Ng Won Lung and Wong Dan Nei did not have any scene together in the film, but praised her warmth as she bought coffee for him. "There is a fight scene with my elder brother Goo Jai in the film, and I think it will surprise the audience. This time I am mostly funny, and I am happy to have the opportunity to be funny. I rarely play this type of funny roles." Wong Dan Nei said that when she saw Ng Won Lung's costume she already wanted to laugh. Chau Sau Na while making the film was admitted to the hospital for 5 stitches for an injury to her right foot. She was still wearing adhesive tape. "The stitches have been removed, but there will be a scar. So I have been putting on the scar removal tape, hoping to reduce it a little." Would she have trauma from working on action movies? Wong Dan Nei answered for her, "She is so tough, she insists against crying out in pain before the cameras stop rolling. She was injured on the first day of work, and everyone was heartbroken." Were they confident about the box office? Ng Won Lung believed that the most important thing was that the audience likes it. Wong Dan Nei was happy to see more and more viewers are going to the movies, and the box office has been rising. She hoped that even more Hong Kong-made films will do well in the future, including HIT N FUN. Chau Sau Na hoped that the film would be able to inherit the current box office momentum, but she did not dare to talk about the box office exceeding 100 million. "It's better not to talk about the real numbers. Watching the Lunar New Year film is one of the entertainment programs for the New Year. There have been relatively few Chinese New Year films in recent years, I believe the audience will go to the movies with the whole family." * (2024/12/22) Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yee) recently teamed up with MIRROR member Ian Chan Cheuk Yin and Dior Cheng Yee Kin in the new film LAST SONG FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG). Playing a leading role for the first time, she and Ian both wore school uniforms. She was praised for her sweet appearance and lively character. She was even praised for her natural acting skills as she successfully took over from her mother Ann Bridgewater (Pak On Nei) and transformed into the "new generation of national first love". After watching the film, a film critic said that Yan Yee's performance reminded him of Cecilia Cheung Sing Chi in FLY ME TO POLARIS (SING YUEN) and Anita Yuen Wing Yee in C'EST LA VIE MON CHERI (SUN BUT LIU CHING); which were very high praises! Having been in the industry for three years, Yan Yee actually won the "Best Newcomer Award" at the Tokyo Film Festival for her outstanding performance in THE DAY WE LIT UP THE SKY. Earlier she teamed up with Fish Liew Chi Yu to make the film PAVANE FOR AN INFANT in Malaysia, playing the role of a pregnant girl. Many viewers left messages expressing their expectation. * (2024/12/21) Dior Cheng Yee Kin and Ian Chan Cheuk Yin appear on a television program to promote the movie LAST SONG FOR YOU (GAU BIT CHUNG FUNG), in which Ekin was passive in terms of feelings. He said that he was also passive when he was in school. He wanted to date when he was in secondary school, but because he did not have the courage. Every time he wanted to confess, she has already walked away. He has never tried to confess successfully. He joked that he was very happy to be able to fulfill his wish when he worked on the lemon tea commercial. Ian said that when he was a child he was more extroverted; but the older he was, the more he hid himself away. Ekin encountered the bottleneck position in the film. He pointed out that he had his own way to solve it in reality; Ian believed that he was young and has not experienced the bottleneck position, but has experienced the "bottle bottom". He admitted that there was a period of time after entering the industry because he was not adaptable, and he thought about giving up the star journey. * (2024/12/20) Director Danny Pang Fat's new film HAUNTING CALL (SAU GEI GEIN GWAI) brought out the subject of school bullying through his expertise of a horror film. Director Pang said that school bullying incidents occur from time to time all over the world, but the bully seems to be difficult to be punished by the law; so he came up with the idea of making this movie, thinking that there are gods above, and there will always be retribution for those who harm others. HAUNTING was the first movie to be shot completely on the mobile phone in Hong Kong. He said that compared with traditional cameras, before shooting with mobile phones he needed to make sufficient preparations. He revealed that it took three months to record the production effects of different mobile phone models in different scenes, and there are different models between day and night scenes. In addition this was a theatrical movie, and after filming he had to adjust again. He joked that that the preparation process in advance was very complicated, but as long as he kept a good record, the shoot would be very smooth. "We have to use 6 different models of mobile phones when shooting, and the mobile phones will quickly run out of power and overheat. The memory will run out, so it needs to be replaced frequently. You can say that there are more mobile phones than people on the set." Speaking of working with three new forces in the film industry, including Jessica Chan Yee Chun, Yvette Chan Shing Yu, Kiki Tam Kei Kei, Director Pang praised them for doing a good job. In particular Tam Kei Kei simply played the bully in style, and added the strangulation scene herself. One would almost thinking that she had violent tendencies. Tam Kei Kei emphasized that she was friendly and cheerful. When she got into character to bully Chan Yee Chun, she regarded her as an enemy who killed her father. When the director yelled cut, she immediately rushed to the toilet to vomit and release the pressure. As for Chan Yee Chun being bullied by Chan Shing Yu and Tm Kei Kei in the film, she admitted that she has also been cyberbullied when she was at school. She could be empathetic during filming, and said that she would be beaten in the film. She told them not to hold back beforehand, and mentioned that in one of the scenes she was set on fire. "The crew has taken all the safety measures, but because the fire is difficult to control. The fire still burns my skin during filming; but the shoot continues before the director yells the cut, so the pain of that scene is a real feeling." The movie's subject is school bullying. Director Pang bluntly said that he never understood why this happened. "In my era, at most someone would do was draw a turtle on your back; but now bullying is eager for you to die, and there is no reason. Maybe there are too many violent games now. After these things happen, the law seems to be unable to punish the perpetrator; but I believe that there are gods above, and people who do harm would always have retribution. This is the reason why I made this film." In addition, Director Pang filed for bankruptcy last year to save his wife with cancer. This year his economic situation has improved, the bankruptcy application has been cancelled. Director Pang revealed that his wife was still fighting her illness. Her condition has improved, so he returned to work. He said that he would keep working hard. Speaking of the Pang Brothers not working together for awhile, Pang Fat joked that for both brothers to direct together it would be expensive. "How can we shoot when we take up 70% of the production budget? It's better to shoot separately." * (2024/12/20) "The strongest in the universe" Donnie Yen was interviewed a few days ago and talked about the filming of the movie THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON), during which he revealed that he was injured and had to be sent to the hospital in the early morning! On the day of the accident he was filming a scene of falling from a height, unexpectedly when he fell out the protective padding fell out. His head hit the ground. His neck made a "click" sound, which caused the staff to panic and worry that his neck was broken and his life would be in danger. At the time he felt low and worried that his injury would halt the production. Fortunately the team had insurance that allowed him to temporarily suspend work and be admitted to the hospital for examination. "I went to the emergency room at 4 a.m., and it turned out that it was a sound caused by the dislocation of tendons and bones. The bones were not broken. Fortunately it was not a major injury, but this fall made my old injury worse." * (2024/12/20) Actors Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui and Amy Lo Wai Man recently went to the Academy of Performing Arts to share their experience on the movie AN ABANONED TEAM (DUT CHUNG SIN SUN), Amy recalled the last scene of the movie when she and Cheng Tan Shui held a puppy on the mountain, and the moment tears of true emotions flowed. "The script didn't say to shed tears there. On the first two take and mark testing, the tears were already flowing nonstop. They came from the heart. Because of minor mishap like the misalignment of the dog leash, I am worried that I would not be able to cry anymore when I shot the 4th and 5th take; but it turns out that I would, I could really keep on crying. At the moment, Tang Yui Na (the character in the film) and Amy have already merged." * (2024/12/19) Julian Cheung Chi Lam (Chilam) is accustomed to playing heroic roles. In the movie THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON) he changed from the usual well dressed image to dye his hair white and grow a beard to play the villain; Francis Ng Chun Yu played a stubborn prosecutor to uphold justice, said that the filming process was quite pleasant, and praised Chi Tan's ideas for being very "open". With many ideas, Chun Yu often had exchanges with Chi Tan, and joked that if Chi Tan fought back he would be compensated with double the salary. He could not even use his hands to block! Cheung Chi Lam admitted frankly that he has longed to play a villain for a long time. "Maybe I don't look like I'm powerful enough normally, so I propose to dye my hair white and grow my beard to be as powerful as possible. As an actor I hope to jump out of the box. Actually no matter whether it is a good or evil role, I want to try other things such as playing a patient or an abnormal relationship; but investors may not be willing to take this risk, so many times actors are very passive." Ng Chun Yu pointed out that originally director Yen Chi Tan wanted him to "fool" the audience and be the final boss, but he felt that his role on behalf of the judiciary should not be degraded and should be expressed through techniques. "Chi Tan originally want me to play the villain Big Boss, but it wasn't written in the script. I thought it would be very difficult to twist the performance around. In a stroke of genius, I proposed to strengthen the sense of conflict with the lawyer role he played." Instead now a stubborn boss who is inconsiderate of his subordinates is enough to form a kind of pressure, like Buddha had to be able to hold down Sun Wukong and Yen Chi Tan was Sun Wukong. Chun Yu pointed out that the filming process was quite pleasant because everyone could discuss it openly. Chi Tan would accept his proposals. In the past has he follow along with anything you did not accept? He said, "In the past that has happen when I was on TV, but the bigger the director, the more receptive the director is. Big directors usually don't care about you, but I also don't care and would just say it first. As soon as I finish talking they would think. In the end they would shoot according to my method. I would change every director, and many would accept it; just like when I was filming INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH) or THE MISSION (CHEUNG FOR) I questioned some stuff. When working with (Ringo) Lam Lan Tung, I would make a proposal and he would very quickly think about it. Then he would say, 'Ah, yes.' or 'it's not like that'. After listening I would understand it as well, everyone have their own ideas when they create." Cheung Chi Lam also agreed, "I will have a lot of thoughts too, and I am not used to accommodating others when talking about them." Chun Yu joked that he corrupted him, and Chilam replied with a smile. "No, when I make movies I upset many directors to death." Chun Yu explained that because there are certain rules on which side to listen to at work; but sometimes only after speaking out or putting forward opinions to contend with it, can the director be stimulated to have new ideas. In the film Ng Chun Yu and Yen Chi Tan had a "one on one fight" scene. Chun Yu pretended to be disdainful and said, "What do you mean one of one? I was pounding him, OK?" He dared to "pound" the Strongest in the Universe? He smiled and said, "Let me clear this up for you: we didn't beat each other up, it was me pounding him. Because I haven't seen Chi Tan on the movie set in such a long time, earlier when he made IP MAN he fought too, this time as a lawyer I said the audience hoped for someone to pound you." Did he ask for more scenes? Chun Yu defended himself, "I only said that, which meant that could you get pounded beyond recognition. Why would a lawyer out of the blue become the Strongest in the Universe, winning with both verbal and physical skills? Why don't you plain? A lawyer should have a few flaws to be entertaining. Maybe he misheard and thought Ng Chun Yu wanted to pound him, so he added this scene and stayed on the set for me to pound him." He pointed out that Chi Tan was very funny. In the scene they had a misunderstanding and wanted to reconcile, so he said that he wanted to have a fight. "I said that using words has made me very frustrated, give me a chance to fight you one on one. I really hit him, hard." Did Chi Tan fight back? Chun Yu smiled and said, "I of course wouldn't let him do that, I signed a contract and all so he couldn't fight back. If he fought back he would compensate double the salary. He couldn't even use his hands to block!" However he praised Chi Tan's idea for being very "open", regardless of whether it was right or wrong he would tell everyone for them to choose. It was a very interesting method, and he would continue to make the script better. In the script, Chilam was originally scheduled to have a big fight with Yen Chi Tan at the end, but Chilam felt that he was no match for Chi Tan. Chun Yu chimed in. "Chilam can fight very well. He is afraid that he would hurt Chi Tan, and Chi Tan wouldn't be able to go to Hollywood!" Chilam also joked, "This is one of the reasons, actually you can think another way; since Chun Yu and Chi Tan had a fight already, why not battle in court instead!" Chun Yu pointed out that the current audience disliked the general mode of the cops and robbers duel at the end,. Of course martial arts fights still have a certain box office, but it did not seem to be as much of an audience as the dramatic battle. Chun Yu recently watched THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK). He laughed and said that the elderly with a JoyYou card might not go to the movies at half price, but Michael Hui Koon Man and Dayo Wong Tze Wah were able to scoop up the audience from the sixties and seventies to the 2000s of the last century. "Especially even the old people are going to see it, what would happen when we 'break hell' later. This atmosphere is pretty interesting. I asked Ma and she said it was good but she didn't cry, maybe the old people have seen it all before. This film is amazing in its ability to attract viewers of different ages. I myself had a very rough time holding it in out of my professional dignity. Actually with some scenes I know fully well that it is a tearjerking spot and would make me want to cry, not to mention other people? In the film the performance methods of the whole family and Michael are surprisingly serious. Every situation hits and is able to drive the whole movie. He is very curiously serious, not the hee hee ha ha make you laugh type." In THE PROSECUTOR Ng Chun Yu performed with Michael the judge and (Liza) Wang Ming Chuan (Ah Jeh) the secretary of justice. He said with a smile, "Ah Jeh hasn't made a movie in a very long time. She is only willing after seeing us return. I too took advantage of Ah Jeh's generosity." Working with Michael again, Chun Yu said, "When I made FANTASIA (GWAI MA KONG SEUNG KUK), I wasn't able to interact much with guest star Hui Koon Man. I am very happy to be able to observe him how he acts and handles the script up close, but I found that he is actually the same as us." Chilam followed with chemistry. "Half-baked." Chun Yu explained, "I have always sold to you memorizing the script too well doesn't work, and Michael is the same." Chilam said that he used to read the script until he was familiar with it, but Chun Yu taught him not to restrain himself too much. He even told him that it was better to drink another glasses while reading the script, because he has seen Chilam read the script before but the director finally changed it. The feeling was miserable. Chilam said, "I have thought of everything then it was changed. Actually there are many ways to perform, and sometimes it may not be useful to do all the homework. Yet he felt guilty about not doing homework, so it was good to be half-baked." Chun Yu agreed that memorizing the script well overnight will make the whole person so excited, he will remember it and really want to try it. Chilam said, "I feel the level Chun Yu is at is very impression. His theory is, being too heavily armed is not as entertaining as bare hand and fist!" Chun Yu pointed out that the movie was done shot by shot. Before at TVB he did not need to read the script when the shoot took up three pages in the past. Actually it was impossible for one person not to remember a line, After thinking for half an hour he definitely would be able to. Then why not let himself more comfortable the night before. "You have to look at the script in advance, before the shoot the director would also arrange for a table read. On the eve of the production start you should have another glass and rest earlier. Being too familiar with the dialogue might be a discount, maybe you would think too much and take the wrong directors. Why not doing it before work, during make up and breaks? A visual image would help with memorizing the lines, because film is made shot by shot, and requires the coordination of the co- stars." Was his acting already in full swing, and the filming would have very few bad takes? He said that actually everyone wanted to be a little more correct, but often they did not have time to shoot more, like the table read before the start of filming this time, and from reading the script again when the production began, he would know the general rundown. He only had to ask the director about the details and would be able to take his mark. In recent years many movies have performed well at the box office. Was he confident about THE PROSECUTOR's release? Chun Yu said, "Every movie has certain ability to draw." He felt that many filmmakers with heart still existed in the film industry. HE praised that current new directors had many ideas and hoped to be able to continue to work with them. "Once on a flight, I took a peek at what movie other passengers were enjoying. Some were watching my work, I noticed IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (BAK YUT JI HA). Director (Lawrence) Kan Kwan Chun used the cameras to achieve new feelings, very sharp with telling the story with visuals. He also watched READY O/R KNOT (BUT YUT SING FU), director (Anselm) Chan Mou Yin also made it decently." * (2024/12/19) The Louis Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai), Gigi Leung Wing Kei and Wong Wan Ching starred Lunar New Year movie HIT N FUN (LUM SI KUET DAU) has been scheduled to be released on January 28 next year (Lunar December 29th). Playing the role of "Fish Ball Girl" in TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING), Wong Wan Ching played daughter and father with Goo Jai in the film this time. Goo Jai took special care of Ching Ching in and out of the film, which made her particularly in character. During a happy family moment, Ching Ching more than once pinched Goo Jai's cheeks. Goo Jai was rather receptive and obviously doting on Ching Ching like a Papa. Goo Jai and Leung Wing Kei played husband and wife in the movie again this time. The two were full of chemistry. Goo Jai carefully rubbed his bruises ridden wife Gigi with medicated wine to ease the bruising, and hug his wife with love when she felt proud. Gigi played the role of an actress who planned to return to the entertainment industry in the film, but unfortunately she has been regarded as a middle aged woman. Thus she strived to transition into an action actress. Gigi and Tony Wu Tsz Tung rehearsed seriously, but when the serious Tsz Tung used real power to punch, Gigi was so frightened that she shouted, "I am so scared!" She had to protect her head with both hands, and teased Tsz Tung: "Can you not hit so hard!" Tsz Tung immediately adjusted to help Gigi get into character. Opening December 19 2024 [ BROADWAY CIRCUIT ] Hung Hom is a neighbourhood of contrasts; because it houses a majority of Hong Kong's funeral homes, its living shares the roads with hearses carrying the dead. Homes of the affluent and middle-class tower over short, dilapidated residential buildings waiting to be torn down and rebuilt. While citizens visit the neighbourhood's temple of Kwun Yum – the revered Goddess of Mercy - every year to seek wealth by praying for a "loan' from the deity's legendary treasury, locals peddle their second-hand goods at a flea market that is held only at dawn, and elderly people rummage through waste on the streets in hopes of finding recyclable materials that will earn them what amounts to pennies. Five years in the making, the latest film by acclaimed independent documentarian WONG Siu-Pong is a thought-provoking day-in-the-life snapshot of Hung Hom. Revealing how our waste is never truly discarded, but merely processed into something of value for others, the film forces us to reconsider the concept of "waste" in modern society. Through his quiet observation of this seemingly ordinary neighbourhood tucked in the very centre of the city, WONG shows a microcosm of Hong Kong and its many contradictions. Unfolding in the faded opulence of Tsim Sha Tsui's Mirador Mansion, it charts an unlikely bond between grizzled veteran Tai Bo and rising star Kuku So—he a mysterious rescuer, she a teenager running away from her mother's abusive partner. At first Alice (the Wonderland echoes ring deliberately) rebuffs her grizzled savior's gallantry. But their shared loneliness catalyzes a fraught rapprochement amid the mansion's crimson-lit maze. Chow wields colorful yet noirish atmospherics with a maestro's command, the dank stairwells and flickering fluorescents conjuring palpable peril. As this intricate two-hander hurtles toward its cathartic climax, you'll be gasping—not just from the suspense, but from sensing the new lifeblood pulsing through the story. Injustice has reigned over the quiet town of Shek O in Hong Kong. Chu Po is a young masked vigilante out to help those in need and kick a baddie’s ass. Just as her social-media popularity increases, so do her frequent injuries, as she learns that her beginner's skills may be no match for those of more experienced fighters. Fate draws her to a local church infested with illicit drug-dealing activities. She soon realizes her connection to that church is more personal than expected as there's a link to her family's past. Should she simply stay in the shadows and pray for a miracle, or put her karate chops to good use? An rejuvenated ode to both THE KARATE KID and the action heroines of Hong Kong's Golden Age, the latest from director Ricky Ko after his award-winning TIME (Fantasia 2021) once again nicely combines nostalgia and modernity with a potent mix of martial arts, humour, sweetness, and compelling characters, OUT OF THE SHADOW offers a guaranteed good time, a reminder of why we love HK movies so much in the first place. Starring several rising stars from Hong Kong, including two actors reunited after Fantasia favourite PORT OF CALL (2015), OUT OF THE SHADOW is fresh off several Asian festivals, and makes its first stopover in the West at Fantasia before it hits its home territory this fall. – King-Wei Chu [ OASKA ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2024 ] Chu Po is a sprightly teenage girl with a strong sense of justice but her mother, Tao Kuen Ying, would rather they keep a low profile in the fishing town of Tai O. Shi's legend was forged through acts of brazen daring, like his infiltration of an enemy stronghold to rescue the wrongly imprisoned Lu Jun-yi from certain execution. Patrick Tam, in a performance of searing intensity, breathes life into a character confronted with the ghosts of his outlaw past, and clinging to hope for rebuilding his fractured life and finding new purpose. Chan, the acclaimed writer of the "Ip Man" franchise, infuses the film with a sense of hard-bitten optimism, suggesting that even in the darkest of times, an indomitable spirit can light the path to a better tomorrow. After leaving the entertainment industry to support her family, Ka Lei attempts to make a comeback, with the help of her friend LAM Pik Chu. Under the rigorous training of Lui's protégé, KO Chau, Elsa undergoes intense preparation. Although she struggles, she is inspired by her teammates and begins to realise that her motivation lies in personal growth, not just in competing against her boyfriend's new partner. On the day of the match, Elsa steps into the ring, fearless and ready to face Surewin in an ultimate showdown. CREATION OF GODS II d.
