MISCELLANEOUS * (2024/07/13) New Malaysian goddess Miko Wong Kit Kei recently even made the jump to the big screen, teaming with Anita Yuen Wing Yee on the Malaysian Lunar New Year comedy film MOM'S BIG NEWS (OMG! AH MA YAU HEI) to play daughter and mother. Earlier the film held a production start ceremony in Kuala Lumpur. The film would be the second investment of Ng Kin Hung's Local Production Co. Ltd. after LITTLE RED SWEET (HUNG DAU). The Malaysian film has been slated for a Lunar New Year release next year. Ng Kin Hung on social media said that he was not too familiar with the Malaysian market yet, so he was exploring, learning from the production, watching other people's production and marketing methods. Once good opportunities would appear in the Hong Kong market, he would be able to apply what she learned and continued his film journey. He revealed that he personally invited good friend Yuen Wing Yee to play the Mama with an unexpected pregnancy. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD)'s Hong Kong Film Archive (the Archive) organized "INTEGRATING TRADITIONAL MORALITY WITH MODERN REALITY: SIL-METROPOLE RETROSPECTIVE" recently held a grand opening ceremony at the Grand Theater of the Hong Kong Cultural Center, and invited the mother in the opening film FATHER AND SON (1981), Chu Hung, and the son Peter Cheng Yu Tak (aka Cheng Yu Ngor) to visit the Grand Theater in person and meet everyone. The two leads have not been seen for a long time. Sister Chu Hung did not take any more movies after making FATHER AND SON, while Peter even went to study abroad after completing FATHER AND SON and never participated in film work again. Thus their appearance was very invaluable. People in the industry such as Yuen Su Fai, Fung So Bo, Sin Kei Yin and Joe Cheung Tung Cho were also present to support. Director of Leisure and Cultural Services Lau Ming Kwong said, "This event is one of the highlights of the first Chinese Cultural Festival. The Sil-Metropole produced films mainly reflect the real situation and human relationships of ordinary Chinese, and depict the livelihood and social landscape of different eras. You can also get a glimpse of how traditional Chinese culture evolves with the times." Director Lau also announced the good news, "FATHER AND SON, THE PRODIGAL SON, GARDEN OF REPOSE, THE ROMANCE OF BOOK AND SWORD, FULL MOON IN NEW YORK and other movie tickets have been sold out, there are only a few tickets left for the remaining shows." Our habit is to read the script thoroughly before production." * (2024/07/11) The movie CUSTOMS FRONTLINE (HOI GUAN JIN SIN)'s director Herman Yau Lai To and lead actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung flew to Malaysia the day before yesterday (9th) to launch promotional activities. Ting Fung returned to Malaysia for the first time in six years and attracted more than 2,000 movie fans to the venue, and the outdoor square was packed to capacity. Fans felt sorry for Ting Fung when they saw him risking his life in the movie, and told him to "love yourself more".
