Karen Mok Man Wai who celebrates her birthday on June 2nd 2. MISCELLANEOUS * (2024/06/05) The movie CRISIS NEGOTIATORS (TAM POON JUEN GA) starred two Best Actors Sean Lau Ching Wan and Francis Ng Chun Yu. Old friends in private, Ching Wan and Chun Yu only worked together again after 19 years. The two played top negotiators. Lau Ching Wan in the film in order to clear his name of murdering colleagues and being the mastermind of a police corruption case, did not hesitate to occupy a police station and take hostages at the risk of his life. He even asked for the negotiator turned social worker Ng Chun Yu by name to negotiate, as they put their acting abilities in a series of mental tug of war. Ching Wan and Chun Yu let go of their habits and take one step at a time. Although Ching Wan and Chun Yu had to play negotiators, they did not go to relevant people to get an understanding of the work situation before the performance. Ching Wan has met negotiators when filming in the past, while Chun Yu said, "Making movies is all 'lip service', whether it is a martial arts film or a police movie, there are no rules; only a few previous films as references. In addition videos of real situations with real negotiators talking to people were online, and they too are all 'lip service'. All of them were different." CRISIS was adapted from the 1998 Hollywood film THE NEGOTIATOR. Chun Yu has seen the foreign version, "The pace was too slow, and I can't understand it in English without subtitles. So I fell asleep watching it." Ching Wan on the other hand did not watch the foreign version. He felt that even if it was adapted, he would still mainly read his own script. After all, different directors, environments and actors would make change. Ching Wan had many negotiation scenes in the film, but on the set the shoot was not separated; they truly conversed over the phone from two sets. ""Because delivering the lines is very important, everyone was able to follow the other, hearing the tone of each other in order to coordinate. For example in one scene I talked to my wife in the film (Rosa Velasco) on the phone, the director also asked her to come to my side. Our movie use this method to shoot this scene, so during the performance it could feel even more intimate." Following HIMALAYA SINGH, the pair of old friends only worked together again after a gap of 19 years, Ching Wan joked that Chun Yu has not changed much and still looked like this. Chun Yu joked. "It's my treat everyday, eating on my dime; he just kept buying me custard tart everyday!" Ching Wan still remembered that they rarely had scenes together in the film, but back then they went to India to shoot the location together. They had to take a 32-hour long-distance ride to the foot of the Himalayas. "We took a bus on a very rugged mountain road, one driver drove while the other watched the road. Along the way we would stop to present incense sticks and worship the gods, the road was actually very dangerous." So they have already been through life and death together? Ching Wan joked that many people were going through life and death together. Chun Yu joked, "Even when you are filming in Hong Kong, everyone in theory wouldn't pretend to be close. Unless everyone barely knew each other, then they would become very familiar. I am not lying to you, Sam Gor (Michael Miu Kiu Wai) and I aren't close so we pretended to have a lot to talk about!" He believed that Sam Gor felt that they as juniors were very talkative, because he was the elder he would take everyone out to drink and eat. Even when eating on TVB they relied on his treat, in order to have an extra mouthful of fish to eat. "So I would talk more with Sam Gor, be more cordial; but with Ching Wan we don't have much to talk about! We only sat next to each other at make up, Director Yau Lai To and I don't talk either!" With less communication on the set, were they saving themselves for the acting battle on screen? Chun Yu joked, "No, because I spend all my time on chatting with Sam Gor; I don't have time to chat with him!" Ng Chun Yu said that Director Yau on the set had his mind on many areas and was very busy. He did not have much time to communicate with actors. Ng Chun Yu only relied on experience to try to meet the director's demands, giving more variations in his performance so the director would have more choices during editing. Lau Ching Wan revealed that Director Yau used a new production method. "The director abandoned the format of shooting separately. He rented two studios to shoot the negotiation scene simultaneously. Everyone were truly negotiating over the phone, which made the pace even more realistic and intense. Actor would be able to get into the roles even easier." Ching Wan and Chun Yu were good friends, but would it be more difficult to make the audience feel that they were negotiators who were trying to convince the other instead of two good friends acting? Ching wan said that it was not particularly hard, but he had to first let go of some habits when they were together. "Because Ng Chun Yu and the character had some difference, I don't want the audience to see Lau Ching Wan is asking Chun Yu for help" Ching Wan even felt that Chun Yu during the performance would guess how he would perform, which Ng Chun Yu denied because he would not look at the other character's script. "Because we shot at different studios, we didn't see each other. Guessing was useless. Even I don't even know how I would act. Because the director shot very fast, I could only just take one step at a time. At home I have already given up on reading the script, I would worry about it when I get there! Because the filming was fast I was very nervous. I haven't memorized all the dialogue, where would I get the time to design characters? I was afraid that I wouldn't be meticulous, so I didn't want to read the script too much at home. Actually in one scene Ching Wan and I both had lines, talking about why he would ask me to negotiate. I made the little change into being negative, was he take advantage of my sympathy? Ching Wan truly didn't know why I would ask, because such a change would make the scenes later more comfortable." There was a lot of psychological warfare in the dialogue, did they have a lot of fun from the performance? Chung Yu joked, "Actually it wasn't enjoyable, it was messy. I had to go up and down and hang up, I was pretty lost. I don't even know how the real mastermind is in the movie! I really don't want to watch other people's acting, I don't have that much time. There is no point to do that anyway, after watching it may be too late to regret it. As soon as you watch you would say you have 32 more scenes than me, then you would just be counting how many scenes people have." Ching Wan had action scenes this time, which he said that were not considered a lot and were relatively simple. However even the "acting" part was not easy, in the film he held several hostages at gun point, which made the hostages very frightened. He slowly knew that he would not shoot at them, and the position in between must be well handled. "I have also told everyone that the gun I was holding was fake, but if it was a real gun how would everyone feel about it? So many actors had their own ideas, and with (Michael) Chow Man Kin, I thought he was really funny. I am very happy to see him back!" Although Ching Wan and Chun Yu did not see each other often, they knew each other from top to bottom. Ching Wan pointed out that Chun Yu was not a long-winded person, he could tell a 100-minute story in three sentences. Anyone who gets it would get it. He would not explain too much. Ching Wan also did not like people who explain, but he would understand them. A photo from Lau Ching Wan, Ng Chun Yu and Director Yau's dinner with Anthony Wong Chau Sun and Dayo Wong Tze Wah earlier appeared online, as people looked forward to whether they had any plan to work together. Ching Wan has not thought much about it, as he and Chau Sun have worked together on BOMB DISPOSAL OFFIER: BABY BOMB. Ng Chun Yu pointed out that Chau Sun seemed aloof, but on the set Chau Sun would leave nothing to chance while he himself would be more 'hea' while acting. Lau Ching Wan joked, "Chun Wan on the set wouldn't 'hea' at all, he just pretends to 'hea'." Was he confident that CRISIS NEGOTIATORS would exceed Dayo Wong Tze Wa's A GUILTY CONSCIENCE over HK$ 100 million box office? Ching Wan felt that this was not for actors to say, but of course he hoped for the box office to be good. "We worked together to make this movie, so we would feel happy to hear everyone's praise. The praises ten years later would still be pretty good." Ths time Andy Lau Tak Wa was the producer, did he frequently came to supervise the set? Chun Yu said that he has seen Wa Jai visit Sam Gor. He was not too close with Wa Jai and he was shy too. During the filming of CRISIS, Ching Wan had health issues. He pointed out that one day during the filming of the hostage-taking scene, although he had a lot of dialogues but they were not be difficult. He however had four or five bad takes. "I asked myself why, there was no reason. Then I felt unwell and coughed a few times. At the time I moved out to live during the filming. As soon as I checked I actually tested positive, so I sent it to the director, As a result, I rest five days before returning to work. Because it was too serious, my wife wasn't too worried because I had all kinds of immunization shots." Later Ching Wan was a guest performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards, but ended up missing it with Louis Koo Tin Lok pretending to him in his place. Ching Wan said, "Actually that time at the Hong Kong Film Awards was pretty funny, I went to the rehearsal but coughed a few times. I wore a mask. When I got home I thought why would I cough, the more I thought about it the more I wanted to get tested. Actually I had the flu, so I immediately sent the test results to (Derek) Yee Tung Sing and said that I caught it and probably wouldn't be able to come. Because I saw the news that some kids caught the flu and got much worse, so I had to be more responsible!" * (2024/06/03) The Hong Kong box office of the powerful movie TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) has exceeded HK$ 90 million as of yesterday. Yesterday the four leads "Chan Lok Kwan" Raymond Lam Fung, "Shun Yat" Terrance Lau Chun Him, "Sup Yi Siu" Tony Wu Tsz Tung and "Wong Gau" Philip Ng Won Lung turned into the Walled City Welfare Committee to meet with 800 fans at a shopping center and attracting more than 1,000 fans to crowd all floors. The fans came to the stage in an orderly manner for close distance contact with the 4 actors. Wu Tsz Tung was so nervous that he was sweating profusely, but Lam Fung and Lau Chun Him were calm. Lau Chun Him even made heart-shaped gestures with fans from time to time, well worthy of his reputation as the "national husband". For the first film meeting, Lam Fung and others were touched by the overwhelming scene. Lam Fung said, "In the past, singers would hold meetings more. I would like to thank everyone who have supported the film. I saw a kind of recognition from their faces." Ng Won Lung joked that the scene has frightened him. Wu Tsz Tung had a funny experience; because when he went out for breakfast yesterday morning, a big guy kept looking at him and made him feel uncomfortable. He said: "After catch each other's gaze, he finished eating and left. When I was paying the bill and about to leave, he actually has been waiting outside the door for more than ten minutes, and asked me, 'Sup Yi Siu could I take a picture?' I told him that he could actually ask for it a long time ago, but he was afraid of disturbing me while eating." As the movie's box office is expected to break through HK$ 100 million mark to become the second highest-grossing film in Hong Kong Chinese-language film, Lau Chun Him hoped to reach 100 million as wished. Lam Fung said that reaching the goal would depend on the support of the audience. Wu Tsz Tung also said that it was rare for all actors in a movie to be highly sought after. Just returning from meeting fans in Taiwan, Ng Won Lung did not mind being mistaken for Aaron Kwok Fu Sing. He said that "Wong Gau"'s hairy style may be similar to that of Sing Sing's. How would they celebrate once the film would reach HK$ 100 million at the box office? Lam Fung suggested that the film team should gather all the members to thank the audience, and later they would have another large-scale promotional event. He also revealed that German Cheung Man Kit who has been working on a movie in Malaysia would take time to go to the cinemas for audience appreciation events. Lau Chun Him and Wu Tsz Tung joked, "If the box office would exceed a hundred million, we plan to pass the ball to Mr. Koo -- set him up for appreciation events." When asked whether they would pound the boss' "chest" for dinner, they said that the boss has already invited them to eat many times. Speaking of him eating roast pork in a hurry in the film, he truly choked and spray grains of rice all over Koo Tin Lok. Lam Fung said that many outtakes have not yet been made public. He has never seen a lot of the clips before either, so he looked forward to the film company releasing them one after another. Named the new generation "national husband", Lau Chun Him also hd the strongest fan passion. Regarding the emergence of a large number of "Mrs. Lau", Lau Chun Him's girlfriend Cecilia Choi Sze Wan also publicly stated that she did not mind having multiple "Mrs. Lau". Lau Chun Him expressed his gratitude for everyone's support. When asked if he would give his girlfriend the real title and get married as soon as possible, Lau Chun Him immediately became "Shun Yat" possessed and joked, "This time I am here as a member of the Walled City Welfare Committee, and I won't respond to any personal matter." Later he dragged in Ng Won Lung and joked that the publicity campaign was actually to help "Wong Gau" with matchmaking. The "Three Sons of the Walled City" present, Lau Chun Him, Lam Fung and Wu Tsz Tung, all praised Ng Won Lung as a good guy. Ng Won Lung joked: "It is the first time that someone called me Husband. (What are you looking for in a wife?) She has to be kind, loves me and a little prettier would be the best." In addition, several actors of TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN, Lam Fung, Wu Tsz Tung and Josev (Kiu Ching Fu) two days ago went to the JP Cinema at Causeway Bay for an audience appreciation event. The audience response was enthusiastic, as they out of curiosity asked them about having "roast pork rice" and the fight scenes between the "Four Sons of the Walled City" and "Wong Gau". * (2024/06/03) The Best Actor Louis Koo Tin Lok starred film has been a box office hit and successfully reached second place among the highest grossing Hong Kong Chinese language films. He stated that he would keep working hard to find a new direction, improve Hong Kong films, and joked that he would not have any pressure. "Giving yourself pressure at work isn't good for your health!" The three Best Actors Louis Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai), Simon Yam Tat Wah (Brother Wah) and Gardner Tse Kwan Ho starred suspense movie MASTERMIND (JING JIN) held a worship ceremony yesterday to pray for a smooth production. Ben Yuen Fu Wa, Alan Yeung Wai Lun, Amy Lo Wai Man and mainland actor Ci Sha also attended. Goo Jai said that in the film he played a detective. He would even be like Sherlock Holmes, use high technology to investigate crimes and would have a lot of fight scenes. He said, "The story is about what happened in a few hours, there are even thunder and lightning. They have a lot of studio scenes, while I have been outside in the rain for a few nights. Although it is summer, but the night shoot is pretty cold. I even had a scene in which I fought six or seven people in black, which turned out like mud wrestling." He pointed out that since director James Hung Ling Ching returned from abroad, so his production technique was different from that of Hong Kong directors. It was very refreshing to him. Speaking of his film TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING)'s ideal performance, would his confidence in Hong Kong films greatly increase? He said, "We should keep working. We have to come up with some new directions and ideas. (How do you feel about beating your WARRIORS OF FUTURE (MING YUT JIN GEI)?) I beat myself so what more could I ask for? Haha! I'm already very happy that the film has performed well, the most important thing is to improve Hong Kong film." Regarding TWILIGHT's DRAGON THRONE (LUNG TAU) and THE FINAL CHAPTER (JUNG JEUNG), he pointed out that he was still waiting for the scripts to be completed. With such a good performance of the previous film, would the follow up ones have pressure? He joked, "Giving yourself pressure at work isn't good for your health." With no shortage of scenes opposite Goo Jai in the film, Brother Wa described this role this time as "exulting dominance", while Goo Jai was "deeply hidden". In the end Goo Jai would even become a sacrifice, as the film would be an extraordinary police film. He also joked that he was full of "heat" from filming in a coat in the heat of more than 30 degrees Celsius. "During the shoot I was sweating on the inside, I couldn't let it flow on top. I also have to wear gloves and a coat. Making movies in Hong Kong is unique like that; it's a rather special working environment." In addition, speaking of his daughter Ella Yam recently sharing photos from an university in the U.S. on social media even though she was studying in England, Brother Wah did not want to say much about whether she has switched schools? "She is studying here and there, let's not talk about that today." Also in a coat in the film, Tse Kwan Ho said that he could do nothing about that. He only revealed that his character was more intriguing, and he rather admired his own costume. Speaking of his film A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG) might be overtaken by TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN at the box office, Kwan Ho said that would be a good thing. "Looking forward to it! It would be the best for everyone's boxd office to rise together." He also said that he agreed with Goo Jai's idea, they had to keep working for the Hong Kong film industry to be able to develop. Mainland actor Ci Sha would play a law enforcement officer in the film, his relationship with the Amy played forensic assistant would be "they love each other but also want to kill each other". Would they have any intimate scene? Lo Wai Man joked, "Any intimacy in the script is basically fighting." Ci Sha revealed that he would use Mandarin to deliver his lines in the film, fearing that doing so in less than fluent Cantonese would make the character look unprofessional. "I am afraid that the unprofessional Cantonese would affect the performance, so I did a lot of work and memorized my co-stars' lines to avoid not understanding what I heard and give the wrong reaction." The actors in the film have also been teaching him simple Cantonese such as "Good Morning, Thank you, Let's go". He said, "Cantonese is very difficult, I hope to learn it while filming." Lo Wai Man said that his Cantonese score was 5 out of 10. * (2024/06/02) Philp Ng Won Lung in the new film TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) played the villain "Wong Gau" and rose in popularity. Recently he went to Taiwan to promote the movie. He has been in the industry for many years and made a lot of action movies. When asked which of martial arts stars Jackie Chan, Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) and Donnie Yen Chi Tan he thought was the best? Ng Won Lung did not dare to offend anyone and said, "They are all very strong." Although he could not choose one, he would like to work with Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) on a fight scene in the future the most; it would be the ultimate goal he would pursue. Nicholas Tse Ting Fung studied Wing Chun with Ng Won Lung, who revealed that Tse Ting Fung fought very well. He had already given Ting Fung a coaching certificate. Promoted to a coach, Tse Ting Fung has already accepted two disciples. Ng Won Lung said that whenever he and Ting Fung would run into each other, they would spar a little. "Tse Ting Fung earlier asked me to perform before, but I had other film contracts." TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN has decided to make a prequel and a sequel, the prequel will focus on the stories of Louis Koo Tin Lok, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Richie Jen (Yam Yan Chai) and others when they were young. The timeline of the sequel no longer has "Wong Gau". When asked if Ng Won Lung still has a chance to perform? He said that he has talked to director Soi Cheang Pou Soi about this at dinner once, "The director said that he hoped to work with me again if the opportunity would arise, but not to play Wong Gau. I might be in another role." * (2024/06/02) Best Actor Francis Ng Chun Yu and Sean Lau Ching Wan are two drama elites and old friends. They worked together after 19 years on the movie CRISIS NEGOTIATORS (TAM POON JUEN GA), and recently went to Shenzhen to promote it. They attracted a large number of fans to attend. Chun Yu was presented with a ribbon, but Ching Wan mischievous tied it on his head. Fans were about to present bottled water, but Ching Wan turned them down with "no thank you". Some viewers were curious about how the two got along, and was Chun Yu the most vicious tongue in the circle of friends? Ching Wan said, "Don't judge him by his appearance, actually he has a lot of feelings for me. However once I tried to call him to meet up for dinner. I called the day before the meal, he forgot and went to Singapore." Someone took the opportunity to ask them to kiss to prove their relationship, and Chun Yu joked, "Is it okay? Right now? Is it legally permitted?" He even wrapped his leg around Ching Wan. * (2024/05/31) Kent Cheng Juk Si is a two-time Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor, winning the honor with WHY ME? (HOR BIT YAU NGOR) and THE LOG (SAM GOR SAU SEUNG DIK GAING CHAK). His acting skills are absolutely beyond any doubt. He has been in the film for 48 years, has experienced ups and downs, and has even owed more than HK$ 10 million in debt due to a film company joint venture. The 73-year-old said that he has already turned down the flames 20 years ago, but he was not pampered at present. Instead he was still desperately trying to make money to support his wife, because children have grown up and had their world. Since they still had to live he did not get to retire, he was also greedy, vane, and wanted to continue to win awards. He decided to work until the ends, and he also wanted to pass on his acting experience to young actors. Cheng Juk Si (Brother Kent) said that he was working on television or movies not because of an acting bug, even if he has won the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor twice, he was still eager to win the award. He said, "I think later will always be the peak. Just like winning the award, when you accept the award and leave the stage it is over; it is a thing of the past. The most important thing is whether you can win the award again next year, the year after next or later; hope is always ahead. Don't judge me by my 70 something age, I still want to improve, I am still vain, if I get to win awards I would. I don't want to compete with others; but if I am doing well in my 70s, I still want to win awards. What's the problem? Presenting an award to me in my old age and cheer me up, why not? If I can't then oh well. You have to look at yourself with a calm heart and have to have positive hopes." Brother Kent pointed out that the past has passed, it was just a milestone; he would accumulate experience and move forward. Since he was old, what he had was experience. He hoped to help the younger generations, so they would take fewer detours to achieve their goals. He said, "The elders need to remind the younger generations that they have been able to survive in this industry for decades all because of the audience. They need to extend their lives for the audience to support them. I hope that the younger generations can keep up and carry forward, so the audience would continue to support them. Only then would the industry have a chance to develop." Brother Kent said that he not only acted on television, but also participated in three films that were still unreleased last year. They included FUN SING (THE BURNING CITY), THE PROSECUTOR (NG POON) and CRISIS NEGOTIATORS (TAM POON JUEN GA), as well as still in production TRIER OF FACT (SAU KYET JEH), which was still in production. He said that he has never resisted anything since he entered the industry. When someone asked him to perform, if he could play it he would accept. He would not choose a script. "Who would know that a script must be bad? Many big productions and big star casts may not be a hit, but some inconspicuous ones would break out. No one can nail the coffin and be conclusive. It is difficult to say whether they are good or bad before the results come out, so when the opportunity presents itself take it." Back then, he played Fat Cat the movie WHY ME?, which gave him fame and fortune. However Brother Kent would consider this character his classic, only a milestone on his show business journey. "Actually, the role of 'Fat Cat' has brought me a lot. Shot in 1985, I won the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor the following year. By 2003 I still played "Fat Cat", spanning more than ten years with 4 TV series and 3 movies in the process, bringing me a lot of glory and making everyone remember me. However I wasn't done just like that, it is just one of my roles people remember." Brother Kent said that his temper was not what it once was. In addition he has already turned down the flames for 20 years. Because he was purely an actor, as long as he did his best, the director was satisfied and the responsibility has been completed, he would be very happy. However being a producer was different, you had to take care of many aspects. When screenwriting, directing, acting to even production were all your business, it was another matter. He said, "You would go mad! When you have so much to deal with all at once, like whether the shoot went well, whether the actor performed well, everything was your business. In addition you have to control production costs, whether the budget has been exceeded, etc., if something happens, you would use foul language and yell at people. Of course everything has a cause and an effect, and we must first talk about the cause." He said that he made movies to make money, if he said that it was for the love of it it would be too noble. Currently people are still looking for him to produce films; but he thought since a movie would take two or three years to make, he did not know if he would be able to clean up afterwards. "As a producer often you can't walk away. From preparation, filming start to completion, the time is too long. Honestly, how many years do I have to act in front of the camera? If you ask me, I hope that I can until the day I die; because I still need to live, I have no ability to retire and I don't want my children to support me; I have been young too, when you are young it's for the family. I hope now for the new generation to live their own lives well, finding their own directions and lives." Once owed more than HK$ 10 million in debts due to a film company joint venture, Brother Kent said that it was the lowest point in his life. "It doesn't matter, this incident told me that life has highs and lows in life. From my position I chose to be responsible. It doesn't matter how bad it is for me in the end; as long as I am responsible for clearly taking care of it, the matter is over and in the past. Just like the principle of winning awards, you always look forward; think about the future because you still have to keep going. I want to raise my head and let people know I am already OK, I can come out and do it again." He said that it is very important for his family to be willing to tough out those days with him, so he was able to tell everyone that in the end only family would be able to accompany them without any regret. "Unless you are a decrepit person who makes everyone unhappy, home would always be a safe haven without a doubt. I am the most grateful to my wife and mother." Brother Kent believed that the best era of the film industry was when it had variety in full bloom. Everyone did what they were good at and would not flock to do the same thing. "Following the trend guarantees a quick death, just like when Tsui Hark directed A CHINESE GHOST STORY (SIN NUI YAU WON); when one succeeded, everyone else went to make ghost movies. The production cost became bigger and bigger, leaving everyone unable to break even. Playing the trend following game is definitely big trouble, and the final winner of this game would only be the person who was leading the trend. Those who followed trends would be done for. You know what you are best at, make subjects that you excel in. Don't just follow because one was a hit." He also advised the younger generations that they should believe that good films will always have the support of the audience. "If this is not the case, we are dumb to make movies. If even we don't believe in this simple truth, why are we still in this business? The so-called dream factory, whether it is movies or television, is to achieve the dreams of others. I still have a vision for this industry, feeling that as long as everyone has new ideas, relates to the audience, coordinates with the skills and directions, blending them all together would become a good script." * (2024/05/31) Chrisse Chau Sau Na has become a "woman who is easily injured" in recent years. Following a falling plastic board hitting the back of her foot earlier, recently she fell and her knees "saw red". No wonder when her bowling movie with Stephy Tang Lai Yan wrapped up production, she stated that she had to take a good rest and "recuperate"! Chau Sau Na was famous for working hard. When she was filming the series DEAD RINGER earlier, she often had to shoot fights scenes and ended up breaking her ribs during training. The recovery took awhile. In recent months, she collaborated with Tang Lai Yan and MIRROR vice-captain Anson Kong (AK) on the film DAI FUN JUNG (BIG SPLIT). The story was about bowling, but Chrissie stilled ended up with injuries all over her body. Earlier a piece of plastic fell from above and hit her foot, leaving a long and deep blood mark on the instep. As one would think she would be more careful in the future, she turned round and fell until her knee "saw red". Although it was only bruises and bleeding, after wiping away the blood it were all bruised. Recently DAI wrapped up production, Chrissie, Stephy, AK and others had dinner to celebrate. Chrissie, who often stayed up all night for the film, said: "I can get a good night's sleep, drink coffee, reward yourself with a handbag, and have time to recover from hand and foot injuries." Obviously, she needed to rely on shopping and rest to heal well. In addition, the Stephy participated mainland costume drama THE LAST CHEF would air on the 27th, not only would it be Stephy's first costume drama, but she also filmed it with the three giants of THE BRONZE TEETH. However, Stephy was suddenly questioned about her political position. In order to clarify her personal orientation, she issued a statement the day before yesterday and said that she is determined to participate in the promotion of cultural exchanges between Hong Kong, China and the mainland. Regarding "people with intention" over-interpreting her interview online and deliberately distorting her statement on social media, She was very saddened. She hoped that the majority of people online would not listen to the rumors, and would reserve all legal rights to take action. * (2024/05/31) Christy Lai Kei Kwan and Kaylee Yu Hoi Kei took part in the new high-intelligence crime film NO SUCH PERSON (CHA MO CHI YUN, which was Christy's first official film production. In the film she and Kaylee went hiking in the country. They worked very hard on the day of filming; under over 30 degree Celsius high temperature and exposure and without any cover, they fried for a day as each was tied up on wires on the edge of the cliff to shoot a struggle scene. Both were drenched in sweat. Kaylee had to shoot the runnng downhill scene, even got heat stroke and dizziness from it. After finished the shoot, Christy's feet were covered with bruises and without any "good flesh" left! * (2024/05/30) The Andy Lau Tak Wa produced, Herman Yau Lai To directed and written, the two Best Actors Sean Lau Ching Wan and Francis Ng Chun Yu starred new film CRISIS NEGOTIATOR (TAM POON JUEN GA), which would be released on June 13th. The film is based on the 1998 Hollywood film THE NEGOTIATOR, which also starred two Best Actors, Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey. The film has been considered one of the classic heroic duo films. Two Best Actors played top negotiators in the film, Lau Ching Wan in order to clear his name of murdering colleagues and the mastermind behind a police corruption case took the risk of holding a police station hostage. Former negotiator and current social worker Ng Chun Yu was suddenly named by Ching Wan as the person he would negotiate with. Each with their own masters and under a series of war of words, they gradually revealed the truth behind the conspiracy. Yau Lai To said that CRISIS NEGOTIATOR retained the basic premise of THE NEGOTIATOR. The story was changed to take place in Hong Kong, which inevitably had to change the parts that did not match the Hong Kong context or situation in THE NEGOTIATOR. The film indeed added plots inspired by social events that have happened in Hong Kong, such as the "Kwok Ah Nui incident". In full confrontation in the film, they were good brothers everyone knew about off screen. Ching Wan and Chun Yu had a friendship that spans 40 years, and their relationship was extremely deep. The two Best Actors knew each other when they were young, and in the early 80s, they joined the TVB artist training class successively, growing together and witnessing each other's achievements. The two went from being extras to the top actors at the television stations. Later they also switched the film together. Their first film was 1994's I WANNA BE YOUR MAN!!! (SUN TAM MOR LUK), and then they worked together to create classic Hong Kong films such as TOO MANY WAYS TO BE NO. 1 (YUT GOR JI TAU DIK DAN SUN), FULL ALERT (GO DOH GAI BEI), BIG BULLET (CHUNG FUNG DUI NO FOR GAI TAU). When they each got married, they served as each other's groomsman and best man; obviously their friendship was more than casual. At the Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony last year, Ching Wan even received his third Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor award from Chun Yu, and Chun Yu, who rarely appeared at the awards ceremony, was said to accept the invitation to present the award only because Ching Wan was nominated. In CRISIS NEGOTIATOR, Yau Lai To deliberately arranged more scenes than the original for the two Best Actors to share the scene, focusing more on the love between the protagonists and the relationship between the two, so that the friendship outside the film could be brought to the screen.
