This time mermaid Jelly Lin Yun and Deng Chao will be in a mermaid human romance, with the addition of the love the ocean message. Show Lo (Law Chi Cheung) who will play the octopus in the film will punish human who destroy the ocean ecology. As for the film theme song, the MERMAID promotional department confirmed that Sing Yeh's frequent collaborator Karen Mok Man Wai and Adam Cheng Siu Chau. Actually Sing Yeh has always liked to add elders in his films, like GOD OF COOKERY (SUN SIK)'s Nancy Sit Ka Yin, KUNG FU HUSTLE's Leung Siu Lung. This time he asked Sunday Songbird Cheng Siu Chau to perform. * (2016/01/12) Charmaine Fong Ho Man yesterday promoted her new record 404 NOT FOUND on dbc digital radio. She said that after four years in production her new record was finally released. In April she will perform her concert. She pointed out that this year was a film harvest year, including the Irene Wan Bik Ha and Patrick Tam Yiu Man starred LOVE IN LATE AUTUMN (OI JOI SUM CHAU), Shawn Yue Man Lok and Eric Tsang Chi Wai's MAD WORLD (YUT LIM MO MING) and a crime film with Bosco Wong Chung Chak. All three will be released this year. Speaking of making MAD WORLD to support a new director, Fong Ho Man said that she did not take a salary. "In the film I played Yue Man Lok's depressed wife. Everyone's mood in the film was very tense. Before taking our marks we had nothing to talk about. Because the script was great, I didn't think about a salary." * (2016/01/12) The Stephen Chow Sing Chi directed Lunar New Year film MERMAID (MEI YUN YU) will open during the Lunar New Year. Yesterday a special promotion took place as he sepnt over HK$ 1 million to take the people of Hong Kong on the Star Ferry ride. Sing Yeh, Show Lo (Law Chi Cheung) and the new "Sing Girl" Jelly Lin Yun yesterday appeared at the Star Ferry Pier at Central and took the ferry with 200 people to Tsim Sha Tsui. Yesterday afternoon around 300 people looked on at the Central Pier. When Piggy and Lin Yun arrived they caused a stir. When Sing Yeh arrived the people got even more exciting. Someone even screamed, "Love you for 10,000 years". The host asked Sing Yeh how long has it been since his last Star Ferry ride? He pointed out that he constantly rode it, but riding it with so many people was both cheerful and joyous. Speaking of the funny mermaids in the film, Sing Yeh pointed out that he has really liked mermaids since he was little. He was very happy to finally be able to make this subject. He said, "I like the sea, I am very good at swimming! We can go swimming together." Piggy said that this was the second time he worked with Sing Yeh, and said that neither time he played a normal person. This time he played an octopus, just the make up alone was very tough. Sing Yeh asked the people and Piggy was the mermaid Lin Yun's performance passable? Piggy answered, "She is very pretty." Lin Yun admitted that she was very nervous about working with Sing Yeh. He was a god like figure. She did not know what caught his eyes (for her to play the mermaid). Sing Yeh said, "She swam very well." After their question and answer segment, the trio rode the ferry with 200 people. Yet when they got on and off the ferry they were surrounded. The scene was rather chaotic. Sing Yeh was very cooperative. Originally he already entered the gate, but he still complied with the reporters' request and did it again in slow motion for reporters to take pictures. Fans surrounded the trio after arriving in Tsim Sha Tsui to take pictures, which led to complaints from fishermen at the pier. Some even erupted in expletives and told Sing Yeh to take them on a flight next time. The trio left under the protection of a large security force. MERMAID released its latest trailer. Barbie Liu (Ha Wai Yu) who became famous for her mermaid rap and director Wilson Chin Kwok Wai also appeared. Barbie appeared with fake buckteeth, unibrow and electrical wire hair, while Wilson wore a black apron and carried a spiked club. Leads Deng Chao, Show Lo, Kitty Zhang Yuqi and Lin Yun messed with their hair on their individual posters as they appeared iwth sea urchin head, octopus head, shark head and mermaid head hairstyles. * (2016/01/11) Nora Miao Ke Hsiu appeared on a radio interview and admitted falling for married men Bruce Lee and Taiwan Best Actor Ko Chun Hsiung. Linked to rumors with married men on multiple occasions, she admitted that she was "rebellious". "I feel it's fate, I didn't deliberately look for these people. They were mutual. (Did you stop yourself?) Yes, but I couldn't stop (myself). When it had to happen it would happen. Of course, some of the responsibilities fell on me, but the time when everyone were happy indeed actually appeared and couldn't be stopped. (You couldn't help yourself?) Probably!" She stressed that she never planned to ask them to leave their wives. She naively felt that everyone was very happy. Now looking back, this might also be the reason that she has not been married for so many years. Miao Ke Hsiu mentioned that she and Bruce Lee worked together on three films. She recalled that back then Bruce Lee constantly played pranks on her. She also said that the source of the rumors probably was from the FIST OF FURY (JING MO MOON) kiss scene. "It was a real kiss, you can see it in the movie. (Was it your first kiss scene?) Yes, at the time everyone was very nervous. We were even fully prepared, as we kept spraying breath fresheners. We only needed two takes." In 1973 when Bruce Lee suddenly collapsed in female star Ting Pei's home, Miao Ke Hsiu stated that she could not accept it and thus cried hard. However she also said that because of the "Bruce Lee effect" some still called her "Goddess" in Japan now. Speaking of Taiwan Best Actor Ko Chun Hsiung who passed away at the end of last year, he once said, "The woman I owe the most to in this life is Miao Ke Hsiu." Miao Ke Hsiu also heard about that from others. She said, "In a relationship no one owes anyone, you can't get it back now anyway. If I knew earlier I would have asked him what did he owe me? I felt that in any relationship, after the break up you only need to remember that you were once happy together. Then neither side would have any hatred, truly no one owes anyone." * (2016/01/11) Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Law Chung Him and director Soi Cheang Po Shui yesterday promoted their Lunar New Year film THE MONKEY KING 2 (SAI YAU GEI ji SUEN NG HUNG SAM DA BAK GWUT JING). A full scale wax statue of Sun Wukong on the tumbling cloud was on display, but Sing Sing thought that it did not resemble him. MONKEY will hold a Beijing premiere on the 20th, then a Hong Kong premiere later. He hoped to be able to bring his mother to attend. Will he bring his girlfriend? He said, "I am not talking about my personal life." Although the Lunar New Year competition will be strong, Sing Sing was full of confidence at the box office. Ultimately the production took half a year and the actors put in a lot of effort. His Sun Wukong look also took seven hours, which exhausted him physically and mentally. He said, "The make up left my face 'without any good flesh'. I had to glue of hair and wear a muscle suit. I was so hot but I didn't dare to wipe away the sweat." Because of the national release, Sing Sing will have to visit over 20 places to promote. He will not be able to spend Lunar New Year's Eve with his family. Will he take his girlfriend home to pay a New Year visit to his mother? He said, "Even I can't go home to have dinner! (Can you ask your girlfriend to go in your stead) I can't." Born on the Year of the Snake, Sing Sing's sign will clash next year. Will he consider getting married for good luck? He joked, "Don't talk about that, I want to focus on work. Later I have to go to Shanghai for THE ETERNAL WAVE. (Will you be in Shanghai for Valentine's Day?) I am going to Shanghai... for work!" Earlier he booked a show to work a movie with his girlfriend, will he book another one for his friends? He said that he hoped his friends would book their own shows. * (2016/01/10) Chow Yun Fat at age 60 is only getting younger and cooler in recent years. He even works on one new film after another. In less than a month after the FROM VEGAS TO MACAU 3 (DOH SING FUNG WON III) wrap he took COLD WAR 2 (HONG JIN 2). He was so busy that he did not get to rest until the end of last year. Originally many companies have offered his movies recently, but because last year Fat Gor made many movies he really wanted to rest a little. Then in May he will work on the Wong Jing produced, Chung Siu Hung directed action comedy. In the film Fat Gor's co-star will be Jacky Heung Jor. In the story kung fu master Heung Jor runs into an ordinary looking person Fat Gor, but later he realizes that Fat Gor has super powers. The strange people with different personalities get together to solve a crime, during which a lot of comedy ensues. Heung Jor was asked yesterday if he will work with Fat Gor on a new film. He replied, "I don't know if Fat Gor really agreed, I only know that Mommy seems to be talking with Fat Gor's side. Earlier I worked with Fat Gor on FROM VEGAS TO MACAU 3, but we didn't have many scenes together. If this time we really can work together, of course I would be very happy. Fat Gor has always been an elder actor I respect, but now everything is still in preparation. A lot has not been confirmed yet." China Star boss Charles Heung Wa Keung and his wife in order to help their son Heung Jor with his actor dream truly spared no effort. First they hired Johnnie To Kei Fung to direct Heung Jor, then they started production FUNG SUN BONG with a group of stars to support Heung Jor. They took FROM 3 after that. In the second half of the year they will work with Fat Gor again. At the end of the year he will work with To Kei Fung on RUNNING ON KARMA 2 (DAI JET LO 2) with Andy Lau Tak Wa. * (2016/01/10) The Donnie Yen Chi Tan starred new film IP MAN 3 was a hit in Hong Kong. The film's producer Shi Jianxiang came to Hong Kong to celebrate with the team and revealed that the film has been confirmed for a March 4th Mainland release. He had no fear of rampant piracy and was full of confidence in the film's Mainland box office performance, as he spent 10 million for everyone to guess the film's total box office and promised to use the internet, film and finance as the global distribution platform to promote Chinese film. Earlier at producer Raymond Wong Pak Ming's Pegasus Motion Pictures anniversary banquet , IP 3's team became one of the bright spots. Shi Jianxinag who came to Hong Kong to show his support even participated in the ice breaking ceremony to symbolize the film's continuing "record breaking". Shi Jianxiang even offered HK$ 10 million to ask everyone to guess IP 3's final box office. Because IP 3 has already broken many records, the team looked forward to its Mainland release very much. Some predicted 1.8 billion and some even 2 billion, but the result will have to wait until the Mainland release. Speaking of the confirmed Mainland release date of March 4th, everyone worried that the internet and the rampant piracy would affect the Mainland box office. Shi Jianxiang however sang another tune as he confidently said, "Earlier the Taiwan film OUR TIMES also postponed its Mainland release, piracy spread in a small area but with the word of mouth its Mainland release received decent box office." In the film Yen Chi Tan and Mike Tyson's 3 minute fight scene became the focus of the entire film. The original idea came from Shi Jianxiang, who flew to the U.S. to invite Tyson to guest star. Shi Jianxiang stated that he really liked the IP MAN films not just because of the story but also its spread of national spirit and culture. "This type of culture needs more viewers' understanding and familiarity, for people to know at the greatest level. This isn't the responsibility of private entrepreneurs but also their duty. As a Chinese, promoting the national culture is what every one of us should do. Ip Man gave me strength, actually what we are distributing really is not a film, but a type of Chinese spirit." He also pointed out that he would use the internet, film and finance to safeguard a Chinese film box office legend. "This year I will massively invest in Chinese film and at the same time bring in Hollywood cash production and technology to fully elevate Chinese film production quality, only this way can Chinese film truly go global." Some viewers feel IP MAN 3's popularity is because it has both action and drama more than its two predecessors! Whether the portrayal of street boxing champion Tyson's punch or Max Zhang Jin and Chi Tan's "Wing Chun vs. Wing Chun", the action designs had a lot of thought put into them as they displayed Wing Chun martial arts of six and a half point pole, Bart Cham Dao and the like. Chi Tan and Tyson's 3 minute intense and exciting 3 minute duel was heart pounding. Chi Tan also said, "Sparring with Tyson is like gambling with your life!" The dramatic part also holds its own. This time through the Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) played Mrs. Ip Man Cheung Wing Sing's cancer, the audience was made to consider the meaning of life. Kung fu master Ip Man faced with his wife's cancer could only be helpless in fate. In the film Ip Man chose to spend her final moments with his wife, which was real and touching. Later she carried her ailing body to accept the challenge from Zhang Jin's Cheung Tin Chi with Ip Man, which also fully showed her understanding and support of her husband's love of the martial arts. Only with an understanding wife like this would Ip Man be able to become the grand master of a generation. As the Hong Kong film market warms back up, many films performed well during Christmas and New Year. The foreign blockbuster STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS reached HK$ 75 million at the box office. IP MAN 3 made HK$ 45 million. The New Year's Day release ANNIVERSARY (GEI LIM YUT) also headed toward HK$ 15 million. IP MAN 3 in Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore was released simultaneously and made NT$ 140 million, 25 million RM and S$ 6 million. IP in March will open in the Mainland. Donnie Yen Chi Tan's CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON: THE GREEN DESTINY will also open during the Lunar New Year. With his full schedule Chi Tan who would celebrate the holiday on a family vacation in past year this year only planned to rest for a few days with his family and help his wife Cissy Wang with her soon to give birth sister Wang Yuanyuan. * (2016/01/10) Dominic Ho Ho Man, Connie Man Hoi Ling, Leslie Lam Lei Han, Iris Chung Choi Yi and Hazel Tong Chi Yui yesterday promoted their new film THE GIGOLO 2 (NGAP WONG 2) on the streets of Mongkok. When Dominic had to pick up both Leslie and Connie at the same time, Leslie showed her "double layer pads" as she absolutely was pushed up to her max! Dominic hoped that the new film will pass the first film's HK$ 8 million box office record and even stated that if it will he will post his skinny dipping video online to thank the audience. Unfortunately he failed to invite Connie, as she only promised to cheer him on in a swimsuit. Speaking of the daring performance in the film, Connie pointed out that she felt awkward when she saw her own performance. "It was more exaggerated than I imagined, some friends after seeing the trailer called me and told me it was amazing. It was very extreme and very sexy. (Are you afraid that your family will see it?) Yes, I told my parents not to come to the premiere yet. Let me watch it first so I can prepare them mentally." Leslie also said that her parents are more conservative, she was afraid that her performance would frighten them. * (2016/01/09) Pegasus Motion Pictures last night held its anniversary banquet and celebrated IP MAN 3's box office success at the same time. As of yesterday IP MAN 3 already made over HK$ 45 million. Boss Raymond Wong Pak Ming led actors Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam), Max Zhang Jin, Karena Ng Chin Yu and Louis Koo Tin Lok in attendance and host an ice breaking ceremony to wish for the film box office to keep climbing. Last night many artists attended, like Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Ray Lui Leung Wai and his wife, Alex Fong Lik Sun, Stephy Tang Lai Yun and Raymond Lam Fung. Speaking of IP MAN 3 becoming the second highest grossing Chinese film in 2015 and having the chance to break the HK$ 60 million box office record of YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE. Chi Tan thanked the audience for its support but never thought about whether the film will break the record. At first he worried whether IP MAN would lack freshness by the third film, but he was already very grateful for everyone's enthusiastic response. Chi Tan received the "Most Influential Action Superstar" award in Beijing. He said that this was the "senior award" that he received for making movies for over a decade, but it was an encouragement nonetheless. Action director Yuen Woo Ping deserved credit. In addition, Chi Tan recently released stamps in the Mainland. He said that he would save some autographed stamps for fans and for charity purposes. In the Lunar New Year Chi Tan will stay in Hong Kong because his wife Cissy Wang's sister Wang Yuanyuan is due to give birth soon. Lynn said that her salary each time has been decent. She also said that this time her boyfriend Kwok Ho Chun also showed his support and said that the film made her look very pretty. She was very touched. In the Lunar New Year Lynn will return home to Nanjing and celebrate with her mother. However her boyfriend will not tag along. She will pay her boyfriend's family an early Lunar New Year visit. Zhang Jin said that IP MAN 3's box office performance was a miracle, which he was very happy about. His wife Ada Choi Siu Fun jokingly asked her husband what would be her gift. Will Zhang Jin get a bonus? Zhang Jin joked that he wanted to be famous more than getting a bonus. Ada revealed that this year she will direct for the first time. Wong Pak Ming will be the producer of FUN SUN (ON FIRE), a family thriller that wanted to tell men to be responsible. This time she wanted to focus on direct and she probably would not perform. Her husband would not either as she wanted to set off spark with other actors. Zhang Jin joked that his wife has become a genius. * (2016/01/09) The 2nd First Feature Film Initiative Award presentation ceremony and press conference took place yesterday. The event showed three films that received assistance last year, the Stephy Tang Lai Yun starred OPUS 1 (NAM TIN BAK WON), the Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Charmaine Fong Ho Man and Elaine Jin (Kam Yin Ling) starred MAD WORLD (YUT LIM MO MING), and the Liu Kai Chi starred WEEDS ON FIRE (DIM NG BO). Chi Tan while talking about the production experience broke into foul language twice as he complained about the difficulties. This was a very heavy film but had a very good scripts, so he dragged friends Lok Jai and Kam Yin Ling down with him. He even impersonated Lok Jai's foul mouthed outburst during the shoot, which made everyone crack up. Later Chi Wai said that during the production the environment was very hot, the story was heavy and completely the opposite of his role accepting qualification. However he did not invest because the government assisted with the limit of only HK$ 2 million. Did he have a salary? He joked that he had to bring his own meals, but the film was so sincere that he had to support it. Would he hire the new director? He wanted to but nowadays young people had their own ideas. He hoped to win Best Actor with the film and revealed that he drew Lok Jai in with that. He jokingly asked him if he wanted to be Best Actor but he won't be paid. He praised Lok Jai for putting in a lot of effort into the film and even turned down other movies that could make him money. Speaking of a memorial hall for Anita Mui Yim Fong, Chi Wai said that originally yesterday he came to discuss this matter with Secretary Gregory So Kam Leung. However he did not attend due to a meeting. He felt that the museum would not be built in a day, he hoped that in the future he would be able to put Ah Mui and Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing's awards together. Stephy said that OPUS received HK$ 5 million from the Film Development Council. She has been very supportive of the local film productions so this time she only charged transportation costs. Stephy said that after reading the script she was in awe. She also felt that making a drama was pretty tough and very different from making a commercial film. In the past everyone felt that she was stuck in romance, this time was considered a challenge for her. * (2016/01/08) The film THE MONKEY KING 2 (SAI YAU GEI ji SUEN NG HUNG SAM DA BAK GWUT JING) cost HK$ 450 million to make and will be released at the Lunar New Year. The post production special effects already cost HK$ 250 million already. Director Soi Cheang Po Shui said that aside from the classic scenes, Gong Li's White Bone Spirit would make an innovative appearance and change people's impression of the White Bone Spirit as a "minor demon". Gong Li challenged an action film for the first time. In order to play the beautiful and strong White Bone Spirit she joined the team early to train with action director Sammo Hung Kam Bo. She also performed on the wires for the first time. After completing the film, Gong Li asked the director for WHITE BONE SPIRIT THRICE STRUCK SUN WUKONG. She also accepted the challenge of playing the character from age 18 to 86. Gong Li boldly said that she would not repeat what others have done. The White Bone Spirit definitely would not be as everyone has imagined and the performance would definitely be different. Aaron Kwok Fu Sing played Sun Wukong. He spent 7 hours on special effect make up, which was already hard to take. In costume he could not go to the bathroom. His face also had allergic reaction. Sing Sing said that all the energy that he spent on a day of the shoot was that of performing three concerts in a row. * (2016/01/08) Stephen Chow Sing Chi who has rarely made a public appearance in recent years would promote his new film MERMAID (MEI YUN YU) with a free Star Ferry ride between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central on the 11th. In the afternoon he will lead actors Show Lo (Law Chi Cheung) and new "Sing Girl" Jelly Lin Yun for a ride on the Victoria Harbor! Yesterday Chow Sing Chi personally shot a video to invite the people of Hong Kong to the ferry ride. "See you 1.11 Monday!" Chow Sing Chi invested 7 figures on the promotion. Star ferry gates will be completely open that day between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central. Ferry riders will have a chance to receive limited edition movie cards as well as a chance to win film tickets. Chow Sing Chi in the afternoon will lead Piggy and Lin Yun on a ride from Central. * (2016/01/08) Francis Ng Chun Yu and Ronald Cheng Chung Kei in their Lunar New Year film HOUSE OF WOLVES (NGOK YUN GUK) team up and use every dirty trick in the book. Cheng Chung Kei first greets Chun Yu with a "sneak attack" on his rear. Ng Chun Yu joked, "Honest people don't do anything sneaky, a duel between me shouldn't involve any dirty trick. I will definitely avenge myself." Chun Yu struck back with a kiss, which caught Cheng Chung Kei off guard. He said, "I never expect that I have my sneak attack, he has his kissy mouth. Under the strong attack of the kissy mouth, this time I really lost." They only needed two take to complete this "action scene". Director Vincent Kok Tak Siu joked that before the shoot he asked them to first brush their teeth and rinse their mouths, but they both rejected. * (2016/01/08) Artists Alex Fong Lik Sun, Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Angie Shum Yat Ka and others two nights ago attended the film ANNIVERSARY (GEI LIM YUT)'s celebration. As of the 6th the film has made over HK$ 13 million, next week a 2 hour extended version will be released. Siu Fong said that he soon will enter the 10th anniversary of his relationship with Stephy. He hoped that they would be able to celebrate alone. He even personally picked up a snack basket and moved Stephy to tears with his love declaration. They embraced loving as Siu Fong even kissed Stephy's cheek twice as requested. Siu Fong said that if the box office went over HK$ 15 million he would consider ask the boss to take them on vacation. He said, "Ko Samui is good, we can go to Switzerland if we go to some place further!" He also said that if they go to Switzerland he would thank the audience in bicycle shorts only as a human snow ball. Stephy will wear a swimsuit on a snow mobile. Siu Fong also said that he hoped that his girlfriend will be nominated for a film award with the film. "The film critics say that she deserves the nomination, but no matter how many times I read I didn't see my name. The co-star is very important too, when you are nominated don't forget to thank me!" Stephy said that she never thought about a nomination, she was already happy with the audience recognition. Guest star Shum Yat Ka revealed that at the end of the month she will have a micro surgery to remove a 7cm tumor from her uterus. She has not thought about stopping work to recover as she was afraid that she would lose job opportunities so early in her career. She said that the tumor was malignant but she did not know if it was cancerous or will require chemotherapy. * (2016/01/08) Apple Chan Chi Yau and Eddie Law Tin Chi earlier worked on the new film SIU NUI DA LUI TOI (YOUNG GIRL IN THE RING) in Shenzhen. The first time lead actress did not hold back at all, not only did she appear in low cut work out gear but also took a beating from Law Tin Chi. Did he hit her by accident in any important area? Law Tin Chi said, "No, I am very accurate. Because I teach how to throw a punch, I know to where to hit. (Maybe Chan Chi Yau went to the wrong spot?) We are professionals and well rehearsed, in addition her reaction is very fast." Did her "boyfriend" Owen Cheung Chun Long ask Law Tin Chi to take good care of her? Chan Chi Yau awkwardly said, "I don't know, they would talk about that privately. Tin Chi has been taking great care of me. Because the entire cast of LOVE COME HOME is very close, he would take care of me even without being asked." Could she fight? The daughter of a former fighter Chan Chi Yau said, "For a girl I should be able to. (Better than Cheung Chun Long?) I haven't tried it, I have never fought anyone. I really want to try it. (With Cheung Chun Long?) Guys are stronger than girls. (He is so mild mannered that he can't fight?) I think so, I guess I am better!" * (2016/01/08) Famous Hong Kong director Ronny Yu Yun Tai earlier returned to Hong Kong from Australia. He revealed intentions of remaking his classic film FEARLESS (FOOK YUEN GAP), the reason of which was an even stranger story. After two years without a film Ronny actually was preparing for three new films, one of which was a Chinese super hero science fiction film. Once industry insiders predicted by 2018 China will officially replace the U.S. as the world's largest film market. Although Hollywood films were big hits in China, over the years few Chinese films have performed well in Hollywood. The highest grossing North American foreign film was still the 2000 Ang Lee film CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON. Thus Ronny felt very fortunate that his 2006 film FEARLESS was one of the top ten highest grossing foreign films. He revealed that he was putting all of his efforts into exploring the "key" to success of opening up the North American box office. Aside from three new films, Ronny would also like to remake FEARLESS. Back then when Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) invited him to direct FEARLESS he wanted to bring out the message of the truth behind martial arts. At th time when he and his team were working on the film's post production in Japan, he took the chance to look up some information about Fok Yuen Gap at the library there. He discovered that Fok Yuen Gap did not die from being poisoned by the Japanese, actually an organization hired the Japanese to kill Fok Yuen Gap with poison! Ronny revealed that FEARLESS kept running to trouble in post production at the time. For example the composer Japanese film music master Shigeru Umebayashi got a ride to the recording studio but did not arrive after a long time, actually he ran into a car accident. Later Ronny asked a Taoist friend to help and realized that "Fok Yuen Gap" did not want the film to be released. He hoped that Ronny and othres would speak up on his behalf and tell the secret behind "his" death! Thus Ronny hoped to remake FEARLESS to do just that. Aside from the strange events behind the making of FEARLESS, Ronny also revealed that Lee Nin Kit during the shoot had to take a variety of pain killers daily because over the years Lee Nin Kit was injured all over from his martial art scenes. He also revealed that some stunt coordinators were less than mentally stable. Every time when they sparred with big stars they fought for "real" in order to relieve their rage! Ronny also revealed when he resigned from CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON: THE GREEN LEGEND. At the time Harvey Weinstein invited him to direct he wanted to adapt the novel after CROUCHING, IRON KNIGHT SILVER VASE. Ronny after reading the original really wanted to make the film, but later after he read the script he decided against it as he was upset at the changes in the script. In particular he was the most surprised by the romance between Donnie Yen Chi Tan's and Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King)'s characters. In the end he gave up directing and Yuen Woo Ping took over. * (2016/01/08) The film version of LINE WALKER (SI TOH HUNG JEH) production start ceremony took place yesterday. Director Man Wai Hung, action director Chin Kar Lok and producer Wong Jing led actors Louis Koo Tin Lok, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Francis Ng Chun Yu and Charmaine Sheh Si Man in attendance. The team will shoot on location in Brazil. Were Goo Jai and Ka Fai worried about the crime problem there? Ka Fai said that he would not go out alone. After working he would return to the hotel. His wife Esther Kwan Wing Ho was not too worried either. He also joked that he would bring underwear. Was he afraid of losing his luggage? He joked that he did not stick any barcode on himself, but these things always happened with him. Luckily he got them back every time. As for his close chats with Elaine Lok Yi Ling, was she asking to return to TVB for a series? Ka Fai said that now he is already back to help with their movie. Goo Jai said that he would consider a series with a good script. Goo Jai did not respond to recent reports that he was worth HK$ 1 billion and had five bodyguards. Chun Yu will not have to go to Brazil but will go to Macau for the production. Was he worried about the size of his role? He said that was not important. The most important was whether he gets the girl because he and Ah Sheh will be in a love triangle with Ka Fai. Ah Sheh this time played "Sister Ting" again and will have a lot of action scenes in the film. Reportedly Ah Sheh was ousted from the web series because she did not resign with TVB, Ah Sheh said that she would worry about it after she finishes this film first. However she did not think they were related, since this film was accepted after her contract ended. As for a fortune teller's prediction of bad romance for Ah Sheh, she asked, "No way? This time I won't run into anyone bad. I mean in the movie, I will first focus on my career." Would Chun Yun introduce guys to Ah Sheh? He said that since Ah Sheh was so "hot" she did not need him to. He felt that not everything should be believed to its fullest, and he also believed that Ah Sheh knew how to choose people. The director was asked why the television series lead actor Raymond Lam Fung did not have a part? He said, "The world is round, one day the reunion will happen. The scripting process went through several discussions before coming up with this version." * (2016/01/08) The Sammo Hung Kam Bo directed and starred film THE BODYGUARD (NGOR DIK DUT GUNG YEH YEH) yesterday held its Beijing press conference. Yesterday was Big Brother Big's 64th birthday, actors Andy Lau Tak Wa, Feng Jiayi and Zhu Yuchen all wished him Happy Birthday. He said, "As long as everyone can open their eyes everyday, it is a type of happy birthday." Wa Jai first gave Big Brother Big a big, big hug, then introduced Yuen Biao, Yuen Wah, Yuen Ting and Yuen Bo. They gave him sunglasses, water bottles and other gifts and even gave a Cantonese song to celebrate. Big Brother Big remembered, "Every year on Lunar New Year's Eve Yuen Wah and I would play Chinese poker for candy, which would turn into a fight over candy. Once I left home for three days, Yuen Wah snuck meals to me. Finally Master gave him over 80 lashes but he did not make a sound. Since then I told him to hit me every Lunar New Year's Eve and I wouldn't retaliate." Big Brother Big also joked that taking the gifts home would be quite a headache. In the end he hung the gifts on his body and said that good health for everyone was the most important. Also a producer, Wa Jai said that this film aside from action also had a lot of emotional scenes. He even revealed that Big Brother Big had romantic scenes with many women, but Big Brother Big said that there was no bed scene and for everyone not to even think about it. Wa Jai joked, "Because we can't wait, Big Brother Big says that he has to have eight pack abs before making a bed scenes." Big Brother Big praised Wa Jai for his outstanding performance in the film. Even when they argued on the set, Wa Jai in the end would definitely listen to Big Brother Big. * (2016/01/07) The final music report card of the year, the 38th Top Ten Chinese Gold Song award took place last night at the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center. Absentee Eason Chan Yik Shun and Joey Yung Cho Yi took home the "Most Excellent Pop Male and Female Singer" awards and "Best Selling Male and Female Singer" awards. They also won "Excellent Pop Singer Award" and Gold Song awards. With four awards each they became the big winners; the "Global Chinese Best Gold Song" went to the Juno Mak Chun Lung and Kay Tse On Kay performed RASHOMEN. This was Joey's 12th "Most Excellent Female Pop Singer award" and Chan Yik Shun's 11th "Most Excellent Male Pop Singer award". Joey thanked everyone at Emperor. Since she started in music in 1999 they witnessed her growth, her mishaps, improvement and failure, they were no longer as simple as co-workers as they have become good friends. She also said that this family was very warm, very simple, without gossip. Everyone encouraged each other and it was a very safe place to grow up in; she also admitted no matter how many times she has won, she was still nervous every time she went on the stage. After accepting everyone's applause and cheer, she would be just like the singers in the audience and keep working hard in the New Year. Mainland singer Han Hong with ONE PERSON won the Best National Chinese song award. She revealed that starting yesterday she was under the Capital Artists label and it will be her first Hong Kong record; she also said that from now on she will constantly come to Hong Kong and participate in more Hong Kong community events. The rising star James Ng Yip Kwan after sweeping the Rookie new prize at the TVB, Metro and Commercial Radio awards last night again won the Rookie With The Most Potential" gold prize. He completed the rookie gold prize clean sweep. When rookie Sukie Chung Shu Kei won Rookie With The Most Potential Excellence Award, Sukie thanked all at once all the record company workers who has helped her. She even stared at her sister Sherman Chung Shu Man in the audience and jokingly thanked her for keeping her fed. "I have her to wash my clothes, socks and underwear, otherwise I wouldn't be on the stage now!" Sherman cracked up in the audience. Singers of the same label, Phil Lam Yik Hong and Jason Chan Pak Yu both won "Top Ten Gold Songs" with ANDERSEN'S FAULT and TURN AROUND SMILE. When host Lee Chi Kong announced Phil he was moved to tears. Even his female partner made fun of him and she had to help him off the stage. When Phil won he stated that last year his popularity soared with HIGH MOUNTAIN LOW VALLEY, which added to his pressure this year. "I want to tell everyone that I don't have just one song!" Jason was especially moved after winning an award six years later. He not only promised to work harder but also gave a special thanks to his girlfriend Leanne Fu Hiu Mei. Pakho Chau won a top ten gold song award with NOT IN A HUNDRED YEARS. Pakho after thanking his record company co-workers and fan said that this time he had to give special thank to his little brother because he complained that he never thanked him in his award speeches. "Thank you for shining all the shoes at home! I have been in the business for 9 years, often I don't have a chance to spend the major holidays with the family. I don't really see them either, thank you to my family!" Gregory Wong Chung Hiu last night presented the "Most Improved Award of the Year". How could anyone improve even more? He said, "In order to improve first of course you can't take a step back, I have 3 things I want to say, you have to drink more lead water, read more books and eating more peanuts online before the LegCo passes 'internet act 23'." When he announced the bronze prize went to Fred Cheng Chun Won, Cheng Chun Won was drinking water and had a look of disbelief that he won. DJ hosts Tsang Chi Ho, Kwai Fa Tin and Lee Chi Kong poked fun at James Ng Yip Kwan with foggy glasses and said that they had to promote Cantonese songs as role models. Every month they had to listen to 30 records, get Chan Ching Sum to be the "Cantonese song promotional ambassador" because singers that she has promoted would focus on staying in Hong Kong to sing and would not work in the North. Then they asked Hins Cheung King Hin in the audience if they were right. Hin Jai did not show much emotion. They also said that 2016 god should be Yip Ka Bo because his "guaranteed to take the rap, to go to court, to get fined" complete package was better than Lau Ming Wai's. Rumored to be "transferred" out of the Radio Hong Kong morning program, DJs Tsang Chi Ho, Wong Kwun Bun and Cuson Law Kai Sun before the ceremony started continued to poke fun at show business events big and small. They started with Wong Ka Keung loves to live in the country because he liked Wong Ka Kui to the point of hugging a "plastic" Ka Kui; then the trio again mentioned the Chief Executive Leung Chun Ying posting the video of him singing LIKE YOU and said that CASH will send the bill to Leung Chun Ying. Hacken Lee Hak Kun was absent due to his participation in the Mainland singing content I AM A SINGER 4. He became the target of numerous jokes, saying that Hacken should get the "Top Ten Chinese Bar Code", the prize was a new suitcase for him to fill with bar codes again. When the event announced that Hacken's YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT was the fourth Top Ten gold songs, they joked that he went to look for his luggage and could not attend and that the award will have a bar code. In addition, after 40 years in the business George Lam Chi Cheung entered the Hall of Fame that debuted last year. His wife Sally Yeh (Yip Sin Man) presented the award to him. Ah Lam first asked his wife if she had anything to say. She shook her head. Ah Lam joked, "At home she talks a lot, here she doesn't." He also asked everyone if they wanted him to sing more or talk more? Everyone said sing more, but Ah Lam said, "After 40 years, I might as well talk more." Then he performed and introduced his first song BILLION NIGHTS, which actually was his son Alex Lam Tak Shun's favorite. He only found out from an interview. Ah Lam also thanked the Lord for giving him the energy to sing "oddball songs" and for people to still listen to them. Finally he wished everyone including his wife good health. The Golden Needle Award recipient Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To) appeared with his daughter Chung Kwok as they hummed a song together. The singers gave him a standing ovation. Later he performed many of his classic songs, then his friend Alan Tam WIng Lun presented the award to him. Brother B thanked the Wynners for this honor. Because he was the youngest among them, over the years everyone watched over him like big brothers, tolerated his immaturity. However because of his immaturity he was able to get past so many storms. Alan said that although LET EVERYTHING GO WITH THE WIND sounded great and cool, no one would feel as deeply about the song as he did because the song's feeling and lyrics reminded him of Brother B's different experience. However Brother B's personality was just like his, gone with the wind as nothing fazed them. Alan also said that this song was absolutely the gold among gold songs. Unfortunately back then it did not win any award. Brother B also said that the song was the biggest one that got away. 38TH TOP TEN CHINESE GOLD SONGS AWARDS MOST EXCELLENT POP SINGER MALE: Eason Chan Yik Shun FEMALE: Joey Yung Cho Yi BEST SELLING SINGER MALE: Eason Chan Yik Shun FEMALE: Joey Yung Cho Yi GROUP: C AllStar GLOBAL CHINESE BEST GOLD SONG: RASHOMON (Juno Mak, Kay Tse) BEST NATIONAL CHINESE SONG: ONE PERSON (Han Hong) BEST NATIONAL SINGER MALE: Hins Cheung King Hin FEMALE: Hebe Tian (Tin Fook Yun) GROUP: Robynn & Kendy BEST BAND/GROUP OF THE YEAR GOLD: RubberBand, Supper Moment SILVER: Dear Jane BRONZE: C AllStar MOST IMPROVED OF THE YEAR GOLD: Jay Fung Won Him SILVER: Ken Hung Cheuk Lap BRONZE: Fred Cheng Chun Wong CASH BEST CREATIVE SINGER: Ivana Wong Yuen Chi EXCELLENT POP MANDARIN SONG GOLD: LITTLE HAPPINESS (Hebe Tien) SILVER: TURNING WITH TEARS (Kay Tse) BRONZE: I AM THE BAND (RubberBand) ROOKIE WITH MOST POTENTIAL GOLD: James Ng Yip Kwan SILVER: Ellen Chen Hoi Tung BRONZE: JUDE EXCELLENCE AWARD: Lai Hiu Yeung, Chan Sze Yun, Chung Shu Kei TOP TEN GOLD SONGS: RASHOMON (Juno Mak, Kay Tse) SECRET OF TEARS (Jinny Ng) UNCONDITIONAL (Eason Chan) YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT (Hacken Lee) THIS CLOSE THAT FAR (Joey Yung) BEYOND LIFE AND DEATH (C AllStar) THE RIGHT ONE (Hins Cheung) NOT IN A HUNDRED YEARS (Pakho Chau) TURN AROUND SMILE (Jason Chan) DID ALL YOU CAN (Alfred Hui) ANDRERSEN'S FAULT (Phil Lam) (11 Gold Songs Due To A Tie In Score) EXCELLENT POP SINGER Pakho Chau, Ivana Wong, Hacken Lee, C AllStar, Eason Chan, Joey Yung, Hins Cheung, Kay Tse, Alfred Hui, Jason Chan GOLDEN NEEDLE: Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To) HALL OF FAME: George Lam Chi Cheung * (2016/01/07) The 3D fantasy action comedy THE MONKEY KING 2 (SAI YAU GEI ji SUEN NG HUNG SAM DA BAK GWUT JING) yesterday held a Shanghai press conference. MING PAO DAILY, JANUARY 10 2016, FILM WORDS 100 YEN: INSPIRATIONAL GOOD FILM In the Japanese film 100 YEN LOVE lead actress Sakura Ando is the most exciting. She plays a lazy, ugly and frustrated "nothing girl" in her 30s. She can only work in the "100 Yen Life" low price convenience store and end up losing her love, virginity and job. This loser woman who is only worth 100 yen trains hard in boxing. Can she miraculously overcome defeat for a victory? This film is somewhat like the Clint Eastwood directed, Hilary Swank boxes for the Oscar Best Actress award MILLION DOLLAR BABY but with even more sense of real life. Sakura Ando's performance is more than convincing. Director Masaharu Take is solid without anything superficial, achieves touching details and ferocious climatic drama in the final fight in the ring. It is an inspirational good films. (three out of five star) - SHEK KEI 2. APPLE DAILY, JANUARY 9 2016, I CAME FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S FUN REMEMBERING A FEW THINGS ABOUT WINNIE YU When I was young and worked as a screen writer on an ATV variety program, I would occasionally guest star. Later out of greed when SUDDEN WEEKLY paid double I switched jobs to write interviews for the entertainment weekly. Yet on the first day on the job I realized that it was not right for me at all and I immediately resigned. While working on television, I wrote a 20 episode story INNOCENT SLEEPWALK for the Commercial drama FOUR DINOSAURS (at the time I really liked Faye Wong's INNOCENT and SLEEPWALK). Thus I also met Kwok Kai Wa who worked there. At that time he asked me if I was interested in joining Commercial Radio as the public relations department copywriter. Honestly, I was not sure what a copywriter did. I heard that I would just be writing some promotional drafts. Since I was free at home anyway, I decided to give it a try. I never fit in with those girls at the public relations department, thus I was arranged to sit in Kwok Kai wa's old spot. If you have been to Commercial Radio, it was that "Friend of The Road" basement. In the middle was a glass room, in which there were two seats. One was mine, the other was Auyeung Ying Chai's. Hands On With Promotional Events Commercial Radio in the 90s was full of talent. Chan Fai Hung was the creative director. Auyeung Ying Chai was the art department director, Lam Jik was in charge of the advertising department. Electric Wave youth Tse Siu Yan was a designer, it also had Jan Lamb Hoi Fung, Eric Kot Man Fai, Wyman (Wong Wai Man) and Nancy. Of course, the soul was Ms. Winnie Yu Tseng who was in charge of Commercial Radio. Yu Tseng was also a text creators, so she had a passion for writing. Thus even for some small scale promotional event, she still would be hands on. I remember at the time record piracy was very rampant. Thus Commercial Radio and record companies came up with an idea. They added a lucky drawing card in the official version records. Then every night a lucky winner would be drawn on a CR program and receive a cash prize to encourage buying the official version records. Because of this promo's name, all those responsible for text creation got to go to the meeting. Thus I was fortunate to be there and witnessed for the first time Yu Tseng, Lam Jik and others' creative impact. At the time I published a few novels and wrote some radio drama. I was conceited and thought I was a writer, but when I was with the real masters, I immediately knew that there was always someone better and something better. During the meeting, Yu Tseng taught me one thing: before you came up with something better than the current version, you should not randomly knock other people's creation because pure criticism is meaningless unless you are not in the middle of creating. I would remember this always. Now I would still remind co-workers who participate in creating, in a film if you have no way ot improve on the current production method, when you just criticize you are just a film critic and not a real creator. Getting Something From Creating Every Time Since then every time I watched Yu Tseng's creation it would be a great opportunity to learn. When she wanted something she would always get it. She once told me, "Don't just think about what you want, you have to ask yourself first why do others have to give it to you." Later from psychology and management books I learned that this was empathy. At the time Yu Tseng although did not speak of systemically, from how she worked you would understand. Empathy enables you to learn inversion thinking, then offer a trade condition that would be easier for the other party to accept. So considered young at the time, I of course had many personality flaws. Being always late was one. One day I had a 11 o'clock meeting with Yu Tseng, as usual I was late for half a hour. When I stepped in the CR lobby I sensed a eerie atmosphere. Everyone at reception was looking at me, then took a glimpse ahead. I followed their line of sight and actually Yu Tseng was waiting for me at the lobby. From the way she was sitting you could guess that she probably has been waiting for awhile. I knew that the co-workers were probably thinking, why would Yu Tseng sit here? Oh, actually she is waiting for the young person who had a meeting with her but was late. Thus I immediately apologized to her (of course, that was superficial. I was already used to it). She did not say much, she even dragged me to have breakfast. I said no need, she instead surprisingly asked if I had it. When she asked me like that, I was so afraid that I did not dare to reply. I could only have breakfast with her. During the entire breakfast, she did not say much, only this type of silence was more powerful than any scolding. Since then, I was never late again not only for meetings with her but also for other events. Lucky To Have Worked Together In My Youth Once at a meal I mentioned that to her, she said that she did not have any recollection of it at all. I thought that was how outstanding people were. Often it was over something minor but they affected someone else's life. Yu Tseng's influence was so far reaching that it was endless. Even after you switched many industries and many companies, when you make a decision you would ask yourself how would Yu Tseng see it? Those who have worked with her would understand. Of course, this is a type of pressure, but pressure can be good and bad. This is an energy that forces you to think ahead even more. Although it would push him into the edge of wanting to die, after that you would realize in surprise that actually you can trigger this type of creativity. Today I am still grateful to have had Yu Tseng's teaching, whether at work or in creative direction. My life is always considered especially lucky by others. Sometimes I would think, if I was really lucky, the chance to work with Yu Tseng in my youth would be a very primary reason. When Yu Tseng announced her official resignation as CR vice president, I still believed that she would be completely at rest. I hope that she will find some even happier place. - Pang Ho Cheung Ancestors from Panyu, born in Kwun Tong. A Virgo with writer, screen writer, film producer, actor and artist all in one. TA KUNG PAO, JANUARY 7 2016, ASIAN FILMS OUTLINING A MANGA DREAM -- BAKUMAN There is a type of film that is about film itself, the joy and pain of creating film and such. Recent ones included Derek Yee Tung Sing's I AM SOMEBODY and VIVA EROTICA (SIK CHING NAM NUI), not so recent ones included the Maggie Cheung Man Yuk starred French film IRMA VEP, and the late French director Francois Truffaut's DAY FOR NIGHT. This type of film is called "meta film". The latest Japanese film release BAKUMAN is not a meta film, but the original manga that it is based on is very interesting. It is a manga about creating manga, the so-called "meta manga". Manga creation is not the type that just randomly draws a few stories and post a panel from time to time, but popular manga series that is scheduled to publish weekly with millions in circulation. - HUNG KWONG BAKUMAN's story is about Moritaka Mashiro (Takeru Satoh), a high school student with the talent for drawing but without any dream about the future. When elite student Akito Takagi (Ryunosuke Kamiki) discovers his talent, he invites him to team up to become manga creators. Takagi is responsible for the story and Mashiro for the illustration. The duo graduates from high school and become famous Japanese manga magazine JUMP's series manga creators as they compete with other colleagues. Moritaka Mashiro has another goal with manga, to be able to make successful series, the animate it so his female classmate Miho Azuki (Nana Komatsu) who dreams of becoming a voice actor can provide her voice for the female lead. It was the first condition of them getting married....... Examine The Purpose of An Editor The professional of manga creator has been on the Japanese silver screen more than once, in the past TOKIWA: THE MANGA APARTMENT that set its stage in the apartment that famous creators like Osamu Tezuka, Shotaro Ishinomori, Fujiko Fujio have lived in. The memoir of the wife of Shigeru Mizuki, GEGEGE NO NYOBO, also had a film adaptation. Yet the most interesting part of this BAKUMAN was that its original work was a manga. Secondly this work (especially the work) unprecedentedly stressed the editor's purpose in manga creation, from discovering talent, editing work and even driving the generation direction of the entire creation. Few have mentioned the purpose that editors serve in this type of popular culture products, but the manga BAKUMAN stressed this point. The difference in the editor's abilities was one of the key elements that decided the lifespan of the work in the story. In the film version, although it was significantly streamlined, but the role of the editor in the film remained very important. Some even felt that this was a film that promoted the Shueisha manga editing department. Unfortunately, one of the key topics in the original work did not take place in the film -- the condemnation of the manga magazine series system as reader popularity voting decided the position and the survival of the work. In the end it created an excessive opposite effect. Some popular work after months and years of serialization in the end restricted the manga creators' creativity and even left the work without an end. The genius young manga creator in the story Eiji Niizuma (Shota Sometani) from the start asked after becoming the sales champion to have the right to end the series. When the BAKUMAN series reached its later stages, we learned that this was not a wild request but he hoped to see his favorite work end at the top. However, the film version did not have much room to hold such a complicated topic . Mixing Live Action With Animation BAKUMAN's original manga writer Tsugumi Ohba and artist Takeshi Obata were the creators of the controversial classic DEATH NOTE. Takeshi Obata was a mysterious person who never revealed his actual name, in general he was believed to be a veteran manga creator. This was very easy to comprehend, because from his critical analysis of the manga industry in his work, he probably has been observing in the industry for years as the work would not come from a new comer's hand. The depiction of the creators and the editors in the story was valuable for text workers to consider and study from. From what the writer saw, many local writers were unwilling to accept even the tiniest bit of editor change or cut. Even with the rookie writers are like that, as they treat editors like great proofreaders who find typos. This type of creators above all mentality more or less affected the development of cultural product industry. A soft power nation like Japan would examine the purpose of an editor even with youth manga products, telling readers that the purpose that the position of "editor" in creation can or should serve. As a manga about manga, BAKUMAN's original work has many "picture in picture" -- manga story within manga sotry was one of its big selling points. The film version used these "pictures in pictures" to display a lot of live action performance coordinated computer animation, which actually was also the usual method in recent Japanese films. On the other hand, the love story that was one of the original work's main plot in the film was much more reserved from the original work's exaggerated, immature coincidence. It was no longer "youth manga but a more suitable film treatment. As something that has already been a television animated series, BAKUMAN's original work could still have a lot of room to work with. If new film versions were to continue, aside from even more characters from the original work it should have a chance to examine even more problems of the editor character and the manga production industry. 5. TA KUNG PAO, JANUARY 7 2016, LIGHT SHADOW PATH HOW TO KEEP WRITING THE STORY Most friends who study screen writing first write stories. The most frequently asked question is what do they do what they write halfway or to a certain stage and they cannot keep writing? Some instructors' answers to this question are very simple, when you write a story you must have (thought up) an ending before writing it. Thus this question does not exist. Actually if you think deeper, the question still exists. If you cannot get to the ending despite all your thinking, how can you write? In general script writing needs a complete plot outline and characterization, then it has a foundation to develop from. Yet when you write a long novel that is not necessarily the case. Often you only have a story direction (not necessarily with a set ending) and several key characters. Both creative formats require certain techniques. These techniques are necessary for anyone to cultivate in order to learn to write screenplays and novels. After grasping those techniques then they do not have the problem of not being able to keep writing. Some students think that creative techniques are about how to gain inspiration, without inspiration then they cannot create. This is an outsider's point of view. Column writers and long novel authors no matter how uninspired they are can hand over a certain amount of words everyday. Long novel writers like Haruki Murakami. Everyday he spent several hours at his desk in the morning. As his writing accumulated over the months and the years, it became a part of life. Their techniques could have a wide variety of names, but their processes all included conception, decision making, analysis, fermentation and modification. Thus a story creator must have a lot of information and history about the subject, the process of collecting and organizing the data is a must. Thus a well learned creator has an obvious creative advantage. This technique can be called a "method", students who tries to write a story should learn this "method". This "method" can train creators to become a "conscious author" (writer Liu Zhenyun's term). A "conscious author" has his or her own viewpoint about a subject, through the story and the characters he or she expresses a theme. This makes it sound like anyone who has learned the technique or the method can create. Over time with effort anyone can become an excellent creator. Yet actually this is only the first step of creating. Mature creators would run into times when they cannot keep writing. Although their reasons are not the same as the beginners. Their question becomes whether they can elevate their work to an even better state. Because the better state is not to become a "conscious author" but an "unconscious author". Like Liu Zhenyun said, "A truly good work is written according to the characters in it. These characters have their own language......world view, methodology, attitude to life." In other words the story follows the characters. When you can achieve this then you have reached the higher state. Thus writing a story is not hard, writing a good story is. - TIN LIK [ In Production Now/Soon ] MRS. K d. Although the freedom fighters have no weapons of their own, they employ whatever tools are at hand, including shovels, loose railway track planks and diverted trains. The local Chinese call the unlikely heroes the "Railroad Tigers". The freedom fighters find themselves on the wrong side of the tracks when the Japanese send reinforcements to Shandong. In an act of defiance, Ma Yuan launches his most dangerous mission yet, blowing up a heavily-guarded railroad bridge.
