* (2013/10/02) Best Actor Tony Leung Ka Fai earlier while working on a 
motorcycle location shoot in Prague for Lee Chi Ngai's new film broke 
three ribs and had to stop working to recover, as his return to TVB went 
up in smoke.  Actors who were drawn to accept the series due to Ka Fai 
might change their minds, as TVB executive Leung Ka Shu tried to handle 
the situation quickly.
	Started from TVB's 10th training class, Leung Ka Fai hoped to 
return the favor and thus agreed to TVB's invitation to play an important 
role.  This Ka Fai starred series about internal police struggle 
originally was slated for a September production start, but at the time 
due to Ka Fai's endless film offers after winning Best Actor the 
production was postponed until January.  The new series even drew 
Charmaine Sheh Si Man back to the nest because of Ka Fai and team with 
actors like Michael Miu Kiu Wai and Raymond Lam Fung.  Yet Ka Fai due to 
a motorcycle scene accident that broke his ribs in Prague for director 
Lee Chi Ngai's new film had to resign.
	Ka Fai currently is resting in Hong Kong.  Yesterday he asked 
reporters over the phone many times not to make a big deal out of his 
injury and scare his parents.  Ka Fai did not discuss his injury.  
Although Oriental Daily received information that Ka Fai broke 3 ribs, 
he still insisted it was minor.  He said that injury often occurred at 
work and he has recovered a month ago but needed to rest.  After 
returning to work he will have to finish his films so he had no way of 
working on the new TVB series.  He helplessly said, "The accident took 
place over a month ago, I have already better.  Don't make a big deal out 
of this, I don't want to scare or worry my parents.  (You had to resign 
from the TVB series?)  Very regrettably, actually I have already finished 
discussion with the producer, the writer, Sam Gor, Chi Wai (Eric 
Tsang) about the script.  We were at the final stage, and I really wanted 
to work with Sam Gor.  Very regrettably I can't make it in the end.  
(Will you work together again?)  We will check next year's schedule."
	TVB executive Leung Ka Shu yesterday admitted that Leung Ka Fai 
resigned due to a rib injury.  "I have visited him, rib injuries require 
healing on their own.  His resignation indeed is regrettable but we can't 
do anything about injury.  Health is important!  (Are you worried about 
finding another to take the role?)  I am not worried, we can't do 
anything about injury.  Now we have to discuss the script and casting 
issues again."  Eric Tsang Chi Wai who made the connection for Ka Fai to 
return to TVB for the series said, "I am only responsible for contact, if 
this really happened I will follow up.  Ka Fai earlier has said that next 
year he will do two things, a play and a television series.  Maybe 
earlier when he worked with (Kelly) Chen Wai Lam on a movie he injured 
his hip, the schedules got pushed back and he couldn't meet the dates."
	Leung Ka Fai's co-star Liu Kai Chi was very surprised to learn 
about Ka Fai.  He said that he had no idea.  "Really?  I didn't know!  
The job was done over a month ago."  He even asked about Ka Fai's 
condition, "I hope he is fine!"

* (2013/10/02) Taiwan group Fahrenheit's former member Wu Chun yesterday 
revealed that he and his first love of 18 years have wed in Brunei and 
played a role that money could not buy -- a happy super Papa.  The 33 
year old Wu Chun revealed his identity as husband and father on the eve 
of his new book release IGNITE COURAGE.  
	Although Wu Chun has kept the secret from fans for years, he 
remained faithful to his wife.  He and his wife Lam Lai Ying were high 
school classmates.  They met when they were 16 and have been together for 
18 years.  His wife was 10 days older than him.  Turning 34 on October 10, 
Wu Chun chose yesterday to announce his marital status as an important 
birthday gift to his wife.  He gave her public recognition.  Reportedly 
Lam Lai Ying's father was the masseur and nutritionist of the fourth 
brother of the Sultan of Brunei and was rather famous there.
	Wu Chun could not hide his joy about becoming a father in the 
book.  "My persistence for that love has never changed.  Once confirmed 
it is forever.  For love and for our life in the future I will work 
hard.  Now I have a role that money cannot buy -- a happy super Papa!  The 
real me is someone who would gladly share my joy.  I believe people who 
have always supported me would feel this point from the posts and photos 
that I have shared on my blog.  Thus not being able to share a beautiful 
event that has changed my life like becoming Papa, to me it is not easy 
at all."
	Wu Chun admitted that his other half has been with since age 16, 
for 18 years she has been with him through countless rises and falls: 
studying in Australia, the passing of his mother, the departure of his 
friend, and taking of his Brunei business.  "When I first start working 
in show business, actually I have introduced her to several friends.  Yet 
as more and more people knew me, gradually she expressed that she did not 
want to expose our relationship  She was someone who did not hope to 
catch the attention of others, and did not know how to face a lot of 
news topics in show business.  I understood and respected this decision, 
because with her 100% support I was able to brave face all the difficult 
challenges in my life and show business career.  She even often reminded 
me, saying that I really was a very lucky person because over the years I 
had so many fans who fully supported and loved me.  I could not count how 
many times she has said 'Without them Wu Chun wouldn't be here today'."
	In the past few years Wu Chun was mostly in Brunei.  He slowly 
understood that he had to face it, especially after having a daughter.  He 
really wanted to share the joy of being Papa.  In the end Wu Chun asked 
for understanding from the outside.  "This share truly came very 
suddenly......perhaps some people will need some time to digest and 
understand it!  No matter what the reaction will be, I will 
understand......I can't help it, everyone please understand."

* (2013/10/02) The 50th Golden Horse Award yesterday announced its 
nominations.  The Wong Kar Wai directed THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG 
SI) received 11 nominations to become the focus, crushing UNBEATABLE (GIK 
JIN) with its 6 nominations.  Leads Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhang Ziyi 
received Best Actor and Best Actress nomination respectively; Wai Jai 
will face the "Ka Fai Twins", the Shanghai International Film Festival 
Best Actor, UNBEATABLE's Nick Chung Ka Fai and the Hong Kong Film Award 
Best Actor, COLD WAR's Tony Leung Ka Fai.  The other two opponents will 
be SOUL's Jimmy Wang Yu and STRAY DOGS' Lee Kang Sheng.  Zhang Ziyi 
along with BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM)'s Sammi Cheng Sau Man, JOURNEY TO 
THE WEST CONQUERING THE DEMONS' Shu Qi and last year's Golden Horse Award 
Best Actress, CHRISTMAS ROSE's Kwai Lun-Mei faced the challenge from THE 
WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI)'s first time nominee Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling.
	Although THE GRANDMASTERS defeated UNBEATABLE to represent Hong 
Kong for the 86th Oscar Best Foreign Film nominations, but at the Golden 
Horse Award it will face strong competition in the Best Feature Film and 
Best Director categories; the Jia Zhangke directed Mainland film A TOUCH OF 
SIN is strong and solid.  Taiwan's Tsai Ming-Liang directed STRAY DOGS 
just won the Venice Film Festival jury award.  The Chung Mong-Hong 
directed SOUL also represented Taiwan for the Oscars nomination; director 
Johnnie To Kei Fung's DRUG WAR surprisingly was nominated despite its 
Mainland target market; Singapore film ILO ILO is new director Anthony 
Chen's work, who knows if it will be able to run away with the Best 
Feature Film as the dark horse?
	The Shanghai International Film Festival Best Actress, 
UNBEATABLE's young actress Crystal Lee, this time was "demoted" to the 
Best Supporting Actress nomination with TALES FROM THE DARK (MAI LEI 
YEH)'s Susan Shaw Yam Yam and LONGING FOR THE RAIN'S Xue Hong, ILO ILO's 
Yeo Yann Yann and TO MY DEAR GRANNY'S Lin Mei-Hsiu.  Eddie Peng Yu-Yen 
successfully broke out with UNBEATABLE to face JOURNEY TO THE WEST's Huang 
Bo, AMERICAN DREAMS IN CHINA's Tong Dawei, 1942's Li Xuejian and ILO 
ILO's Chen Tianwen for Best Supporting Actor.
	Two time divorcee song queen Faye Wong's TO YOUTH for her buddy 
Vicki Zhao Wei's film SO YOUNG and Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To)'s OLD LOVE 
SONG for TOGETHER were both nominated for Best Original Film Song.  The 
Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to veteran actress Chen Chen.
	Director Wong Kar Wai said after learning that THE GRANDMASTERS 
was the film with the most Golden Horse nominations this year, "Thank you 
Golden Horse Award jury for your recognition of this film.  To receive as 
many as 11 nominations, it is an enormous encouragement for the entire 
team."  Lead actor Wai Jai only said about his Best Actor nomination, 
"Thank you for everyone's encouragement, recognizing our hard work of 
five years.  I feel very happy for the entire team!"
	Chung Ka Fai did not think too much about winning.  "I am not 
selfish, as long as a Hong Kong actor wins I would be the happiest!  
Actually no one would think he has too many awards.  If I don't get it 
this year, I will work hard again next year.  It's not like I am 
retiring!"  Instead Leung Ka Fai had the most confidence.  He said, "I am 
very happy to be nominated, every nominated actor is very strong.  I hope 
COLD WAR will succeed.  Thank you everyone for your support!"
	Sammi Cheng Sau Man was more reserved about her Best Actress 
nomination.  She said, "Thank you Golden Horse Award for nominating me.  
Thank you Wa Jai, Director To Kei Fung, Director Wai Ka Fai, I will keep 
working hard!"  Shu Qi happily said after her Best Actress nomination, "I 
am too happy!  To be nominated with a comedy, being recognized by 
everyone with a comedy is very rare, so I already treat it like a victory! 
Actually comedy is very hard to play, the mood and the pace both have to 
grasp very properly.  This time the competition is pretty strong, the 
battle will not be easy."  New comer Ngan Cheuk Ling was just as excited 
after finding out about her Best Actress nomination.  She said that the 
nomination was already a victory for her.  She was very honored to be 
nominated with 4 elders and would participate in the award presentation 
as a learning experience and with THE WAY WE DANCE's no matter win or 
lose spirit.

* (2013/10/02) Sammi Cheng Sau Man's TELLING MARIA interview will soon 
air.  Actually on the program she admitted that she used to be very hard 
to take, arrogant and highly demanding of herself.  When she could not 
achieve her demand she would throw tantrums at those around her, which 
earned her an ugly nickname; later she experienced a lot and discovered 
the world was very large.  She would instead ask herself whether it was 
better to be called an ugly nickname or "All Grins Cheng"?  When her 
relationship with Andy Hui Chi On reached a bottleneck, they broke up 
after 10 years because she felt that they seemingly would not wed.  Her 
career came first so anything that hindered her had to go; then they just 
broke up.  As for getting back together, Sammi described that since they 
dared to start this relationship, when they wed they would not notify 
anyone and would wait until they are married before publicizing it.
	The host Luisa Lai Chi San yesterday promoted on Metro Radio.  She 
admitted that she was very nervous about the rating and felt stressed.  
The program went from 20 episodes to 35 episodes, thus she is still busy 
inviting guests.  However for now she would not reveal the guest list as 
she was afraid that it would die from exposure.
	She also planned to turn the two seasons into a book for a Book 
Fair release next year.  However she has thought about winning the Best 
Host award again.  

* (2013/10/01) Since LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO), sex romance films 
have been on the rise.  Director Wilson Chin Kwok Wai in LAN KWAI FONG 3 
continued to sell passion as the focus fell onto Alex Lam Tak Shun and 
Ava Yu Kiu's bed scene.  The romantic film expert director Patrick Kong 
(Yip Lim Sum)'s new film THE BEST PLAN IS NO PLAN (KAU NUI BUT LEI 3 HING 
DAI) also had a rumored girlfriend Jacqueline Chong Si Man's bra 
seduction of Hanjin Tan (Chan Woon Yan) in bed.  The former had red hot 
passion, the latter used sexiness to attract eyeballs.  No wonder former 
ALL THINGS GIRL co-hosts Yu Kiu and Chong Si Man held nothing back in 
their competition!
	Director Yip Lim Sum's new release on the 17th THE BEST PLAN IS 
NO PLAN not only followed his usual romantic story and vicious dialogues 
but also had his rumored girlfriend, th 5' 9" Chong Si Man in a bra 
scene to seduce shy guy Chan Woon Yan in the bed.  The scene was shot in 
Chan Woon Yan's point of viw as the office lady Chong Si Man stripped 
in front of the camera to her underwear.
	Yip Lim Sum yesterday said that the scene took an afternoon to 
shoot.  He said, "During the shoot the set was cleared, but both actors 
were very open minded and gave a lot of suggestions.  Even Chan Woon 
Yan's wife didn't supervise on the set."  As for rumored girlfriend Chong 
Si Man's sexy performance, he said, "I am the director, of course I have 
to be on the set.  Should I have gon to have wonton noodle instead?"  He 
revealed that the film will have special screenings and audience 
appreciation on Chung Yeung Festival and gifts will be given to viewers.
	On the other hand, Chin Kwok Wai's LAN KWAI FONG has already 
reached the third installment.  This time added Lam Tak Shun and Yu Kiu.  
They three nights ago worked on a bed scene in Wanchai.  In the story 
they were living together.  Alex in order to save their relationship went 
to bed with Yu Kiu to exchange love with sex.  Although it was an 
intimate scene, the set was not clear.  Director Chin Kwok Wai first 
drank Baiju with Yu Kiu and Alex to help them relax, so their performance 
would be more wild and convincing.
	Before taking their marks, Alex often asked Yu Kiu to rehearse.  
They first shot the kiss scene in the living room.  Because of rehearsals 
and shooting from different angles, they kissed almost ten times.  With 
the bed scene, Chin Kwok Wai personally demonstrated foreplay.  In the 
story Alex had to hold Yu Kiu then remove her bra.  During rehearsal the 
crew covered up Yu Kiu with cloth.  She also has taken the full safety 
precaution and wore two pairs of underwear.  
	The bed scene was completed very quickly and smoothly, as Alex 
and Yu Kiu watched the playback for review.  They were not embarrassed at 
all.  Yu Kiu said, "Although I was mentally prepared, the place was full 
of people.  I was a little nervous!"  Alex boasted that as a professional 
actor he could not be nervous.  Yu Kiu also joked that she just ate lamb 
and garlic, which gave her bad breath.  Alx also said that he had coffee 
and durian.  "I never thought about needing to brush my teeth, I just 
took my mark!"
	Jason Chan Pak Yu earlier worked on the film LAN KWAI FONG 3 
and a kiss scene with TVB's new generation bust goddess Whitney Hui Yik 
Nei on wires.  All night long the wire was rough on his privates but 
luckily Hui Yik Nei gave him a kiss.  Two nights ago around 9:30PM, 
Jason worked on location in Wyndham Street at Central.  Although he was 
on th wires again, this time only Jason took on the five story tall wall 
and talked on the phone.  He was saying, "It's exciting!  It really is 
exciting!"  During the shoot drizzle came.  After less than ten minutes 
the rain came harder and harder.  Finally after two hours they still 
were not able to resume the shoot.

* (2013/10/01) Top Mainland star Huang Xiaoming just won the Best Actor 
Award with AMERICAN DREAMS IN CHINA at the 22nd Golden Rooster Hundred 
Flower Film Festival and the 29th Chinese Film Golden Rooster Award two 
days ago flew to Hong Kong for a Derek Yee Tung Sing produced new film.
	Around midnight yesterday, Xiaoming arrived at the Wanchai 
production location.  Although it was raining, Xiaoming did not ask his 
assistant for an umbrella.  He only kept his hands in his pockets, chok 
and smiled when he saw reporters.  Then the crew accompanied him to a 
nearby restaurant.  Then Fiona Sit Hoi Kei arrived.  When she ran into 
reporters she signaled her assistant to raise the umbrella for them to 
take photos.
	After winning Best Actor Xiaoming received many offers.  
Reportedly, later he will work with a famous Hong Kong on a film.  With 
many films on his hand already, he would cautiously select scripts 
because he has been so busy.  
	Fiona yesterday morning posted a black and white photo with 
Huang Xiaoming.  "We worked until after 7AM, I also wrapped up another 
film.  I hope everything goes smoothly for you who are still shooting."

* (2013/10/01) International film star Zhang Ziyi and Wang Leehom's new 
film MY LUCKY STAR earlier unveiled its trailer, which featured their 
physical contact scenes.  The theme was 'My lucky 'sex' life with a god'.  
Playing the silly lady Ziyi in the film had a lot of expression.  She 
was also very convincing in the kiss scene with Leehom.  In one scene 
Ziyi tried her hand on costume fetish as she put on a nurse uniform and 
a wig and dance erotically.  Leehom also went topless and showed off his

* (2013/10/01) Shawn Yue Man Lok yesterday attended a shoe event and 
received a pair of special edition shoes with his birthday "1113" on 
them.  Yue Man Lok's sister celebrated her birthday two days ago and Lok 
Jai posted their photo online.  "When I am working I rarely celebrate 
with her.  My sister usually buys what she likes for a gift and brings 
the receipt back to me to be reimbursed."  Speaking of his new film CHET 
DOH with Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Ji Jin-Hee and Choi Si-Won, Lok Jai said 
that because it still has not received the approval they were still 
rehearsing and have not gone into official production.  He said, "This 
time had actors of different places with different languages.  I learned 
a few Korean curses, so I would know when someone's yelling at me."

* (2013/10/01) Vivian Hsu (Tsui Yeuk Suen) earlier revealed her new 
romance and said that she hoped to have a child next year.  Last night 
she attended her film RHYTHM OF THe RAIN premiere.  Described as "cold 
aged goddess" she was still very protective of her romance.  She only 
smiled and did not respond.  Instead sh was very confident about the 
film's box office and said that if it broke NT$ 100 million she will 
perform a concert.
	Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun)'s good friend Vincent Fang (Fong Man 
Shan) directed the film for the first time.  Friends like Giddens Ko and 
Mickey Huang came in support.  Director Wei Te-Sheng came to congratulate 
the film because both Tsui Yeuk Suen and Fong Man Shan were "SEEDIQ BALE" 
angels.

* (2013/10/01) Liu Kai Chi, Candy Lo Hau Yam, Jeana Ho Pui Yu, Shirley 
Yim (Suet Lei) and her son Edward Chui Woei Dong two nights ago attended 
the film LONG LONG CAFE production start ceremony.  Playing a youth on 
the edge, Jeana liked this type of film.  She had room to perform and 
was very happy about the chance to work with Uncle Chi.  She said, "Uncle 
Chi plays a social worker who takes care of us.  He is a professional 
actor and I can learn from him.  (Did you feel any pressure?)  No, he is 
very nice, very active in teaching younger folks."  Speaking of her love 
life, Jeana says that she is looking.  As for suitors, she said, "I 
haven't sense any, now I am at home whenever I am not at work.  I am 
like an otaku.  I think I have to hang out and meet more friends to have 
a chance.  Now it is like I have lowered the gate on myself."  Would she 
take the initiative when she meets the right one?  Jeana said that she 
would try to drag on the ambiguous period longer and enjoy the process.
	Jeana revealed that in the film she would rob Lo Hau Yam, but 
said that she was so thin that she was afraid of scaring her.  Lo Hau 
yam said, "I am afraid of scaring her instead, her waist is still slim.  
I am OK."  She said that she has already gained two pounds.  "I haven't 
been deliberately gaining weight, I exercise and deliberately have three 
meals.  Now I am even addicting to exercise.  My husband gave me a 
treadmill."  She revealed that her husband will soon release a record 
and they have been exercising together.  His goal was Nick Cheung Ka Fai.

* (2013/10/01) Lo Hoi Pang yesterday officially wrapped his 20 episode 
Cable program shoot.  Brother Pang said, "Originally the production 
should take a little longer, but it was accommodating my schedule.  
Because in October I will have to fly to France for a movie, the wrap 
came earlier."  He revealed that this film AH MA NGOR YIU GA LIU (MA, I 
AM GETTING MARRIED) will be a musical with a new director and have many 
song and dance numbers.  He will work with Petrina Fung Bo Bo and Fiona 
Sit Hoi Kei for the first time.  The "son in law" will be a foreigner.  
He said,  "For now we will shoot in Paris for 10 days, mainly in a

* (2013/10/01) Donnie Yen Chi Tan is also the action director in the film 
SPECIAL ID (DUT SHU SUN FUN) as he adds street fighting and special 
forces fighting techniques to find a new breakthrough for "Yen Kung Fu".  
Yen Chi Tan asks for no repeat for every action scene.  He has one on 
one fight scenes with many actors and has to design each person's 
different fighting style.  In the film he is a dark hero and becomes an 
enemy to Andy Tien (On Chi Kit) due to their different goals; their 
realistic fighting becomes the bright spot, as they use metal rods and 
bars.  Yen Chi Tan's action is so fast that even cinematographer Peter 
Pau Tak Fun says the cameras have difficulty to grasp it.
	Both he and On Chi Kit are injured from their fight.  This film 
invites Hollywood make up artists to create injury images for the 
characters.  When the make up artists fix their "scar make up" they 
cannot differentiate between the fake from the real wounds.  Yen Chi Tan 
sees On Chi Kit's potential as a kung fu star successor, as he is agile, 
tall and handsome.  With the realistic fighting during the shoot injuries 
often occur, Yen Chi Tan admits that with the injuries that he has, even 
sitting hurts.  He has to tough it out with nothing but will power.  
"The Strongest In the Universe" does not refer to his body but his 
spirit.
	Yen Chi Tan earlier also completed another film YUT GOR YUN DIK 
MO LUM (ONE PERSON'S MARTIAL ART WORLD).  At the wrap banquet, Emperor 
boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing was present and gave away HK$ 50,000 cash for 
a lucky drawing; Yen Chi Tan and director Teddy Chan Tak Sum gave 
20,000 and 30,000 respectively.  Yen Chi Tan became the Fortune God and 
gave away HK$ 1,000 bills.

* (2013/10/01) The Golden Rooster Hundred Flower Film Festival big winner 
and the Best Director Award winner Peter Chan Ho Sun two days ago 
attended the Beijing Broadway Film Center's DIASPORA & HOMELAND: BEIJING 
HONG KONG FILM FESTIVAL 2013.  Chan Ho Sun was the forum planner as he 
personally unveiled the film festival and attended the press conference.  
The film festival will run for 12 days and introduce 12 of Hong Kong's 
"stranger in a strange land" classics.  They will include Chan Ho Sun's 
COMRADES ALMOST A LOVE STORY (TIM MUK MUK), Yim Ho's HOMECOMING (CHI SHUI 
LAU NIN) and Ann Hui On Wa's SONG OF THE EXILE (HAT TOH CHAU HUNG).  The 
film festival will also stop in Shenyang, Jinan and other stops on a 
China tour. 

* (2013/09/30) Moses Chan Ho two nights ago went to the airport to pick 
up his pregnant wife Aimee Chan Yan Mei then went to their new home.  
Yesterday he went to Chai Wan for the film DIM DUI DIM (POINT TO POINT).  
	Chan Ho would try to finish the jobs on his hands as soon as 
possible and take time off to be with his wife.  He said, "My wife has 
left Hong Kong for a long time.  She is very happy to return to our new 
home, which she says is very comfortable.  She really likes my designs, 
which she considers passable.  We still have to fix it up a little, for 
now it's not too neat."  Was he used to holding his big bellied wife when 
they slept?  Chan Ho awkwardly laughed and said, "It's OK, I will love 
her more."
	Susan Shaw Yam Yam revealed that earlier Chan Ho while working on 
the film often talked with Aimee over the phone.  She said, "He hasn't

* (2013/09/30) The Tsui Hark new film YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE RISE OF THE SEA 
DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT ji SUN DOH LUNG WONG) was released in the Mainland on 
September 28.  Its opening box office reached 4 million yuan RMB, which 
landed it in the top three opening box office and second only to JOURNEY 
TO THE WEST CONQUERING THE DEMONS (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN) and TINY TIMES.  
Industry insiders estimated that th film will break 100 million yuan at 
the box office before the October golden week.
	This film would be the sixth film in 3 year for lead actress 
Angelababy (Yang Ying) to break 100 million at the box office.  She said, 
"Many online discuss my performance as the courtesan.  I thank Director 
Tsui Hark, he is able to display a lot of my potential."  Tsui Hark often 
gave personal demonstrations to Baby.  He performed the fetching feminine 
beauty comparably to actresses.  Baby joked, "He would even demonstrate 
bed scenes, his performance is more fetching than mine!"  Tsui Hark's 
film received international film industry recognition.  In November he 
will accept the 8th Rome Film Festival's "Maverick Director Award" to

* (2013/09/30) The film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) after 45 days in release 
made over HK$ 44.2 million.  Lead actor Nick Cheung Ka Fai yesterday 
attended an event and said that he would chat with young people as a 
friend.  Would he cultivate the next generation?  Cheung Ka Fai joked, 
"This mission is left with (Eric) Tsang Chi Wai, but I will support the 
birth of the new generation."  He agreed that the film industry lacked 
new blood.
	Was his daughter interested in film?  Cheung Ka Fai said, "I 
think children would like cartoon films.  Film to me is professional, 
cautious and respected.  I wouldn't deliberately push children to work, I 
hope sh would have contact with more areas.  If my daughter grows up and 
wants to be an actress?  Let's wait until then!"

* (2013/09/30) Mandy Lieu yesterday attended the Tony Wong Yuk Long 50th 
Anniversary Exhibition.  She said that she was already reading Wong Yuk 
Long's comic books when she was in Malaysia.  "I often asked my cousin 
when he did not have Wong Siu Fu's figure.  If a man is muscular, I would 
add 5 points!  I feel in reality (Eddie) Peng Yu-Yen has Wong Siu Fu's 
muscular figure, unfortunately I have no chance."  Mandy is busy with an 
action film in Taiwan.  Due to her low cut costumes, her co-stars have 
been showing her mercy during fight scenes.  "They don't dare to kick my

* (2013/09/30) Carina Lau Ka Ling yesterday was a promotional ambassador 
a walk against gynecological cancers.  When she host the ceremony and 
saw a balloon popped she covered her ears in fright.  Sh said that she has 
had scheduled physical examinations, over the years friends like Anita 
Mui Yim Fong have fallen illness.  Thus she would pay more attention to 
gynecological examinations.
	Lau Ka Ling accepted an interview with Luisa Lai Chi San's 
TELLING MARIA and spoke about her kidnapping.  She said, "If I have the 
chance, I want to run into those 4 people.  They were under other 
people's order."  Ka Ling yesterday afternoon was asked about the 
interview.  She said, "Actually I have already forgiven them long ago,

* (2013/09/30) Liu Xiaoqing was the first guest of the Luisa Lai Chi San 
host TELLING MARIA.  Tonight and tomorrow night her interview will be 
aired.  Liu Xiaoqing on the program talked about her 422 days in prison 
for tax evasion problem.  At the time she only felt that she could not 
act again in this lifetime, but she knew that she would not be executed.  
Aside from death, everything was minor.  She in prison would take cold 
water shower and ran over 3000 steps.  She said it as a training and thus 
she became more mature.
	She experienced her young and wild days, as once she said that 
she was the best actress in China.  Liu Xiaoqing remembered when a

* (2013/09/30) Miriam Yeung Chin Wa recently has been busy with the 
Johnnie To Kei Fung directed film DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART 2 (DAN SUN 
NAM NUI 2) and stuck between two hunks Louis Koo Tin Lok and "Jai Jai" 
Vic Chou Yu Man.  Two nights ago the three leads shot at Central.  The 
police stopped by to get an understanding, after shooting for awhile they 
packed up and left.
	Two nights ago around noon they continued to work on location at 
Central.  The scene was very simple.  Jai Jai brought car keys to Chin 
Wa, they stood by a luxury car, chatted and laughed.  They were rather 
harmonious.  Goo Jai looked on nearby, felt upset and jealous as his face 
grew as dark as his tan. Then he turned around and left.  To Kei Fung was 
on hand to supervise.  Many pedestrians stopped and watched the shoot.

* (2013/09/29) Recently Miriam Yeung Chin Wa has been busy with Johnnie 
To Kei Fung's new film.  Two nights ago she and Gao Yuanyuan appeared on 
the streets of Happy Valley.  The team utilized a white Ferrari sports 
car.  When not in a scene, Gao Yuanyuan sat next to To Kei Fung and 
poked at her mobile phone, while Chin Wa rested in her vehicle.  Chin Wa 
wore 4 inch high heels.  Gao Yuanyuan who originally wore canvas flats 
changed into high heels as well.
	Chin Wa often got into and out of the car, seemingly playing a 
sales agent Gao Yuanyuan had a large pile of documents, stood to the side 
and laughed.  They finally only needed two takes.

* (2013/09/29) The 22nd Golden Rooster Hundred Flower Film Festival last 
night held its award presentation in Wuhan.  Huang Xiaoming and Zhang 
Guoli shared the Golden Rooster Best Actor honor.  Mainland star Song Jia 
with FALLING FLOWERS defeated favorite Zhang Ziyi for Best Actress, a 
surprising victory; Peter Chan Ho Sun with AMERICAN DREAMS IN CHINA won 
Best Director.  First time director of the 600 million yuan hit SO YOUNG, 
Vicki Zhao Wei won the Director Debut Award.
	1942 was the big winner with 4 awards: Best Actor, Best Adapted 
Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Recording.  The fresh out 
of the oven Golden Rooster Best Actor with AMERICAN DREAMS IN CHINA, 
Huang Xiaoming although had to share it with elder Zhang Guoli still 
was very emotional.  He said, "I never thought that I would be standing on 
the stage to accept the award, but I believe in hard work.  My mantra is 
I am not the most excellent but I work hard to do my best."  He even 
paraphrased Stephen Chow Sing Chi's line, "I am a good actor!"  Zhang 
Guoli with 1942 won Best Actor.  He thanked director Feng Xiaogang for 
persisting for 19 years for him.  When he was younger he enjoyed winning 
the award, now he wants to experience the character.
	Fresh out of the oven Best Actor Song Jia said, "Today's jury is 
the best jury, giving me such a big pie.  Even if it will tossed by 
mistake, I will still help myself."  Chan Ho Sun with AMERICAN DREAMS IN 
CHINA won Best Director and defeated strong competition from the likes of 
Feng Xiaogang and others.  The host joked that instead the Golden 
Rooster (Sandra Ng Kwan Yu starred in the film GOLDEN CHICKEN) was lucky 
for him.  When he accepted the award, he first praised Feng Xiaogang's 
1942 as an epic.  His AMERICAN DREAMS IN CHINA was a fast food film and 
he felt ashamed.
	Scaled down this year, the Golden Rooster Hundred Flower Award 
red carpet lacked star power with only Zhao Wei, Huang Xiaoming, Zhang 
Jingchu, Zhang Guoli and Feng Xiaogang.  Mainland sexy star Daniella  
Wang Li Dan continued to catch attention.  This year's Golden Rooster 
Hundred Flower Award was described as the most deserted year.  It also 
followed the scale back trend and the film festival returned to film 
itself.  However some also said that today the Golden Rooster Hundred 
Flower Award actually has already lost its charm and had difficulty with 
making film stars to support it.  Thus even Zhang Ziyi who was promoting 
her own film investment in the Mainland was absent despite being 
nominated.
	Zhao Wei although was not competing for Best Actress received 
the Director Debut Award, which was even more meaningful.  Two big 
directors Feng Xiaogang and Kevin Chu Yen Ping presented the award.  Zhao 
Wei on the stage thanked the noble and highly regarded jury as well as 
many people, the performance belonged to everyone and she was very 
grateful.  At the same time, she received a love letter "To Zhao Wei" 
from a mysterious person.  She was so happy that she suddenly kissed the 
hostess on the lips; because she also saw Zhao Wei as an idol, the kiss 
caught her off guard and stunned her.  She was unable to recover for a 
long time.
	Zhao Wei said that the film took two years to make and everyday 
was a pleasure.  She explained that her sudden kiss of the hostess on the 
stage expressed what the SO YOUNG craze was.  She was not satisfied with 
her performance as an actress, so in the future she would work hard on 
doing her part as an actress.  Later, she immediately called her husband 
and daughter, who even cutely congratulated Mommy.
	Best Supporting Actor and Actress both went to favorites.  Wang 
Qingxiang with THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) won Best Supporting 
Actor.  He said that he waited 30 years and this rooster arrived.  His 
dream was to perform better and better, and not more and more, with 
everyone's help.  He thanked Wong Kar Wai for his transition.  The Best 
Supporting Actress went to CAUGHT IN THE WEB's outstanding performer Wang 
Luodan.  She immediately called her mother with the good news.  THE 
GRANDMASTERS won two awards including Best Supporting Actor and Best Art 
Award for William Chang Suk Ping.

* (2013/09/29) Luisa Lai Chi San's TELLING MARIA on Monday (Septeber 30) 
will premiere.  The first guest would be the legendary Liu Xiaoqing.  In 
the interview, she not only talked about plastic surgery, marriage and 
tax evasion prison sentence but also the unfair treatment of Mainland and 
Hong Kong actors back then.  She revealed that when she made BURNING OF 
THE IMPERIAL PALACE she once stole Tony Leung Ka Fai's meal ticket!
	When Liu Xiaoqing first started acting she received 50 yuan 
monthly.  Now she is a multimillionaire.  When she made movies she 
suffered a lot. In the early 80s when she and Leung ka Fai made BURNING 
OF THE IMPERIAL PALACE, she was already a star but Ka Fai was just making 
his film debut.  At the time they even had communication problems.  
Because Ka Fai did not know Putonghua, she taught him to make some small 
gestures as hints for her to follow with her lines.  Liu Xiaoqing pointed 
out that back then Hong Kong and Mainland actors were treated unfairly.  
Every meal she only had a bun while Hong Kong's Leung Ka Fai had 
catering.  Once she finally broke down and cried, since she was still

to her 80s, a classic performance for her.  She said, to her playing 
young and middle age had no difficulty, but for the aging Wu Zetian she 
needed a lot of help from make up.  She has played many historical 
figures but did not feel who she resembled the most.  Many have suggested 
publishing a biography for her.  Her life seemed to have followed China's 
development tracks.  She too was often played in danger.

* (2013/09/29) Chapman To Man Jat, Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Wong Jing two 
nights ago went to a Tsim Sha Tsui cinema for their film MR. AND MRS. 
PLAYER (LAN GWUN FU DAU LAN GWUN CHAI) audience appreciation event.  How 
was the box office?  Ah Jat joked, "None of my business!"  When he heard 
Wong Jing said that MR. opened with HK$ 1 million.  He happily said, 
"Each time at an audience appreciation event when I see how happy the 
audience is, it is a type of entertainment for me.  Earlier Fat Gor and I 
worked together on a movie.  Fat Gor asked me, who came up with audience 
appreciation?  He said several years ago I came up with it."  Yesterday 
was Krystal Tin Yui Nei's birthday.  Ah Jat two nights ago after the 
audience appreciation event rushed home to prepare the food, because he 
had to cook personally and invited 12 friends to celebrate with his wife.  
Tin Yui Nei was the happiest about being able to cut her birthday cake 
wit her cat.  Was birthday present did he give his wife?  He said 
angrily, "A gold iPhone 5s, but it's outrageous.  It's been bid up to 
HK$ 15,000.  It's just gold paint not real gold.  I don't want to 
encourage speculation so I asked an American friend to get one."
	Sister Na worked on TVB's TAILOR MADE TOUR.  Some online perhaps 
were upset that Ng Yip Kwan's participation and struck at him.  Sister Na 
said that she did not know and pointed out that everyone applied for the 
tours.  They were not arranged.  Ah Jat joked that he was upset at 
Brother Kwan as well.  "I have toiled for 20 years before I got a chance 
to marry Sister Na half a time."

* (2013/09/29) Alex Lam Tak Shun worked on the film LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI 
OI YEH PO 3) and had intimate scenes with Ava Yu Kiu and Jeana Ho Pui Yu, 
which made Alex who had to perform intimate scenes for the first time 
very nervous.  His rumored girlfriend Linah Matsuoka two nights ago at a 
charity premiere said that sh would like to visit him on the set and 
bring treats for everyone.  Obviously wanting to supervise, Linah saw him 
with other women in intimate scenes actually said that it would not be 
awkward.  "He is just working, I hope he can do it and perform

Annie Wu (Ng Sun Kwan), Kimmy Tong Fei and others yesterday worked on 
a swimming pool scene for Wong Jing's new film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH 
SING FUNG WON) in Macau.  Ah Jat who has been working out night and day 
yesterday went topless with a "chest hair look".  Although Ah Jat was 
much thinner, during the shoot because he could not stick out his chest 
and suck in his gut every time he was not at his best shape.
	Fat Gor was known for his professionalism.  Even when he was not 
in the shoot he would remain on the set to help out.  Originally Winnie 
Leung Man Yi, Candy Yuen Ka Man and Mainland star Michelle Hu Yan 
earlier already finished their scenes, but due to the typhoon they had to 
postpone the shoot. Yesterday they appeared in bikinis.  Being able to 
work with god class actor Fat Gor, Leung Man Yi praised how nice he was.  
"Our team dined together, Fat Gor knew that we wanted to take photos with 
him but didn't dare to speak up.  So he came out and asked if we had our 
phones.  Then he used our phones for cheek to cheek photos with us.  We 
were so happy that we could die!"
	Playing Fat Gor's daughter Tong Fei had many scenes with Ah Jat 
and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung.  She praised her co-stars as nice.  "Ah Jat 
is really very funny, actually Ting Fung isn't really all that cool 
either.  He was very strong with his impersonations.  His favorite was 
impersonating director (Andrew) Lau Wai Keung's gestures.  Sometimes he 
would even imitate him walking around with the camera."

* (2013/09/28) Aaron Kwok Fu Sing yesterday unveiled his film THE MONKEY 
KING (SAI YAU GEI ji DAI LAU TIN GUNG)'s Bull Demon King wax figure.  
Sing Sing was very pleased with the wax figure and often took photos 
with it.  Because the costume came from an Italian designers, Sing Sing 
was called the "most handsome Bull Demon King" in history.  He revealed 
that the film's post production required a lot of time, hopefully it will 
be released at the end of the year or early next year.  He said that most 
of his fight scenes were with Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Chow Yun Fat.  He 
even confidently said, "Chi Tan is pretty agile, but I am slightly 
better.  He is the Strongest in the Universe, I am the Strongest in the 
Flaming Mountains.  In the film everyone would have a victorious moment."

* (2013/09/28) Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Joe Chen Chiao-En, Zhang Zilin, Xia 
Zitong and other leads of THE MONKEY KING (SAI GEI YAU ji DAI LAU TIN 
GUNG) yesterday unveiled their wax figures at the Madame Tussauds Hong 
Kong.  Their wax figures all put on their film costumes and looked very 
convincing, which left them in awe.
	Yen Chi Tan's Sun Wukong look was the first wax figure in the 
air.  He admitted that making JOURNEY TO THE WEST again had certain 
pressure.  He said, "When you make this movie I have to carry historical 
responsibilities, if you don't perform well you would be yelled at for a 
lifetime."  Chi Tan revealed that playing Sun Wukong in the film required 
5 hours on special effect make up and 1 hour to remove it, which were 
more than he could take.  He said, "I sat in the make up room until my 
back was stiff.  Sometimes I had to wear a mouth guard, which gave me 
trouble with eating.  I worked like that for almost 4 months.  This film 
tortured my body to its limits.  I got several years older, so I won't 
make similar films.  It's too rough."  Korean star Lee Byung-Hun hoped to 
have a chance to work on a fight scene with Chi Tan.  Chi Tan welcomed 
the challenge.  "We have run into each other at different events.  
Actually we are both action film actors.  If we would have the chance to 
work together, of course I would welcome it.  I can represent China's 
martial art films and fight with him."
	Playing "Princess Iron Fan" in the film, Chen Chiao-En perhaps 
in order to avoid questions about Zhang Xinyu's interference into 
her romance with Wallace Huo Chien-Hwa stipulated before the event that 
she would not accept any interview.  Yet she appeared to be in decent 
mood and often took photos with her wax figure.  She praised, "My heart 
is beating because it's too real.  It's exactly the same as the film 
costume.  In addition I worked with Kwok Fu Sing.  He is very nice, his 
acting is good too.  We had a lot of fun during the shoot."

* (2013/09/27) Shiga Lin Si Nga two nights ago worked with film industry 
new comer Babyjohn Choi Hong Yik on the Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) 
directed new film on the streets of Causeway Bay.  When the team was all 
set, Shiga did not appear.  Yip Lim Sum was in a daze as Choi Hong Yik 
took the initiative to be closer to the director and chatted with the 
crew.
	Shiga arrived late at the location.  After arriving he and Choi 
Hong Yik rehearsed in front of the director then took their marks.  In 
the story Shiga and Choi Hong Yik held hands and crossed the road when 
she suddenly threw a tantrum.  Choi tried to coax and calm her and had to 
grab Shiga's cheeks.

* (2013/09/27) Best Actor Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Sean Lau Ching Wan 
yesterday attended a Mont Blac event.  They were relaxed and even traded 
verbal jabs to cheer everyone fun.  Cheung Ka Fai was asked about being 
the Asia Pacific Film Festival favorite.  "How hot can I be?  1 to 
several (odds).  Yet as an actor, I can't control anything outside the 
camera.  I just let myself go, like going to a party.  Should we have to 
fight on the stage for the award?  I have won before, but I can win 
again."  
	Was he confident about becoming a "seven time Best Actor" again 
with UNBEATABLE?  Cheung Ka Fai only said, "UNBEATABLE is already my 
breakthrough."
	Ching Wan was asked if he would pick Ka Fai or the other favorite 
Tony Leung Chiu Wai?  He said, "Wow!  It's very hard to choose.  Luckily 
I am not on the jury."  When asked if you would train into merman shape 
like Ka Fai, Ka Fai cut in and said, "Ching Wan has a religious belief, 
he worships dolphins.  I can't train into merman shape."  Ching Wan 
replied, "Right!  I worship killer whales."  When asked if he wantd to 
have a breakthrough in film, Cheung Ka Fai cut in again.  "His MAD 
DETECTIVE (SUN TAM) is already very alternative.  I had to spend a lot of 
time to straighten him out before being able to find the real Lau Ching 
Wan again."  Ching Wan recently worked with Huang Xiaoming.  When asked 
if Angelababy visited the set, he said, "I haven't seen her, I really 
haven't seen them together."  Ka Fai also cut in, "You are saying that 
they have broken up."  Ching Wan helplessly said, "Before winning an 
award his mood is too hyper."  In addition, Shawn Yue Man Lok posted a 
photo with him with Cheung Ka Fai, Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and Korean stars 
Choi Si-Won and Ji Jin-Hee at dinner.

* (2013/09/27) Maria Lai Chi San's TELLING MARIA last year won both 
ratings and word of mouth.  The show will return with Best Actresses 
starting next Monday.  So far 35 episodes have been planned with 15 
female artists.  Some even spoke until they cried.  Carina Lau Ka Ling 
talked about her kidnapping; Anita Yuen Wing Yi clarified rumors that she 
was in the pocket of a rich businessman and stressed that they were 
dating.  
	TELLING MARIA yesterday held a premiere at a cinema.  Lai Chi 
San's friends Tam Yuk Ying, Mak Cheung Ching, Meini Cheung Mei Nei and 
Entertainment News hosts showed their support.  The 15 interviews were 
announced, including Lau Ka Ling, Yuen Wing Yi, Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Liu 
Xiaoqing and others.  In the video, Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Veronica Yip Yuk 
Hing and Lau Ka Ling were moved to tears in their interviews.
	Lai Chi San asked about the "ambitious Gigi" incident.  Back then 
Leung Wing Kei in order to publicize her relationship with Dior Cheng Yi 
Kin notified the media to wait outside Ekin's home.  Yuen Wing Yi was 
asked her relationship with a rich businessman.  She clarified that their 
relationship was dating and she was not being kept.  Lau Ka Ling in the

Best Actors.  "The program last time had good response, adding to the 
pressure this time.  I hope it will be able to continue the momentum from 
last time.  This time each actress gladly shared their heart to heart 
talks and were very sentimental.  Even I couldn't help but cry."  She 
revealed that she invited Brigitte Lin (Lam Ching Ha) and Shu Qi but 
unfortunately they did not work out.  "Many friends of Ching Ha helped 
with the invitation but she did not want to; Shu Qi understood that her 
personal life would be discussed and declined."
	When she interviewed Leung Wing Kei about Cheng Yi Kin, they 
were both Ekin's former girlfriends.  Was it awkward?  Sh said, "I have 
never interviewed Leung Wing Kei.  At first I thought it would be 
awkward, but it wasn't at all.  Instead we understood everyone very 
well."  She joked that next time she could invite Yoyo Mung Ka Wai.

* (2013/09/27) KICK ASS GIRLS (BAU 3 CHIU GIU WA) will be released in 
November in Hong Kong.  In the film Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Emily Lim 
(Lam Pui Kei)'s scenes together led to trouble.  Lam Pui Kei had a fight 
scene with Sister Na.  In the story she had to stomp on Sister Na's 
back.  To prevent accidental injuries she learned to shoot with holding 
back and positioning from the action director.  She revealed that when 
Sister Na struck back, she did not hold back with her kicks and punches.  
This scene only took one take.  Lam Pui Kei reportedly was covered in 
bruises, but respected her elder and did not suspect her.  Sister Na was 
puzzled about her suspected bullying of Lam Pui Kei.  She said that the 
action director was present and she communicated with her co-star in 
advance.  The entire shoot was very smooth.

* (2013/09/27) The Tsui Hark directed DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF 
THE PHANTOM FLAME was a critical and commercial hit.  It even 
successfully fulfilled Carina Lau Ka Ling's dream and won her the Hong 
Kong Film Award for Best Actress.  For the new film YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE 
THE RISING OF THE SEA DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT ji SUN DOH LUNG WON), Tsui Hark 
remained extremely confident but Ka Ling humbly said that she has never 
thought about winning again.  "No, the last time I already felt very 
lucky, maybe it was being at the right place at the right time.  It's 
about lucky and the competition.  This time I really haven't even thought 
about it."  Ka Ling revealed that thanks to the director, make up and 
costume assistance, she was not worried that she would have a shadow of 
the previous installment's Wu Zetian.  Actually as an actor she only had 
to coordinate with the director to bring about the Wu Zetian in his mind.
	Speaking of lead actor Mark Chao (Chiu Yau Ting) said that he 
would never shoot an underwater scene again.  Was the process too rough?  
Tsui Hark said, "How dare he?  Actually only when I watched the highlight 
back did I realize that we did a lot.  I believed that everyone suffered 
a lot."  Ka Ling also felt that the toughest was the challenge of nature.  
Would she rather take the summer off from now on?  Ka Ling said, "No, as 
an actor you have to give.  Watching the film on the screen was worth all 
the suffering.  (Would you make it again?)  Definitely, if Tsui Hark asks 
me I would again.  (Even playing the old version?)  No problem."
	Tsui Hark was asked if he would plan a third film.  He said that 
during the end credit 20 some drawings brought the Detective Dee world to 
life, which was even more amazing that a buried subplot.  "Of course I want 
to make a third film, but it will depend on the actual audience response.  
(Do you expect to include Ka Ling?)  Wu Zetian gave Di Renjie a lot of 
pressure, which was pretty entertaining.  In addition Ka Ling already has 
a great understanding of Wu Zetian, in reality she still has quite a 
presence!"  Ka Ling chimed in and felt that the Tang Dynasty story had 
to have Wu Zetian to be entertaining, which was a type of symbol.
	Ka Ling also praised Tsui Hark as sharp. With several hundred 
people present, he had to make a lot of decisions.  He was still at ease.  
She said, "Being a director truly wasn't simple.  He faced so many people 
and problems but still was very calm.  He had the presence of a big time 
general.  Maybe inside he was very raging, but on the set he could not 
be calmer.  He was very sharp."

* (2013/09/27) Carina Lau Ka Ling, Mark Chao (Chiu Yau Ting), Angelababy 
(Yang Ying), director Tsui Hark, producer Shi Nan Sun and Emperor Motion 
Pictures boss Albert Yeung sau Sing two nights ago attended the film 
YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE RISING OF THE SEA DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT ji SUN DOH LUNG 
WONG) premiere.  Charlie Yeung Choi Nei and Irene Wan Bik Ha showed their 
support as well.  September 25 was Chiu Yau Ting's 29th birthday.  
Everyone raised a glass to toast to him.  He said that he almost forgot 
his own birthday and he will spend it at work.
	Co-star Baby said that sh would give a tablet computer as a 
birthday gift.  Later she will invite her to her restaurant for dinner.  
Since his girlfriend Gao Yuanyuan is working on a movie in Hong Kong, 
will they celebrate together?  Chiu Yau Ting said, "We will see.  She has 
to work on a movie.  If everyone (the media) would give us some space 
then we would have time to meet.  I have already received her gift, I am 
very happy but I am not telling what it is."
	Chiu Yau Ting revealed that his birthday wish was for the film to 
be a big hit, for now he has not wished to wed.  However his goal was to 
wed at age 30.  Then he will wed a year later?  He awkwardly said, "We 
will see.  Since it will happen anyway, I will tell everyone then.  (Have 
you mentioned marriage to Gao Yuanyuan?)  This needs an official 
proposal."  Chiu Yau Ting tried to change the subject and asked reporters 
to interview Baby, but even Baby made fun of him.  "Chiu Yau Ting is very 
responsible, if he gets married he has to invite him to his wedding 
banquet."
	Carina Lau Ka Ling said that she has already seen the film and 
thought the effects were shocking.  She got a lot of energy from working 
with a group of young actors and looked forward to the good box office 
performance.  She was not too worried; because she has exceeded her quota 
and completed the film, she should not measure the result with the box 
office.  She said, "Making this film was rather rough, but that's the way 
it is for actors.  In the film I saw how powerful my martial art was, 
which was already worth it."

* (2013/09/26) Zhang Ziyi is again a producer and an actress in her new 
film MY LUCKY STAR with Wang Leehom.  When their close friend Jackie Chan 
visited the set, they happened to be shooting the most exciting action 
scene on the film.  Jackie Chan could not help himself but to personally 
design the action scene anew for Zhang Ziyi and Wang Lehom and added more 
superstar color to the film.

* (2013/09/26) Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Chapman To Man Jat worked 
together in the Wong Jing directed new film MR. AND MRS. PLAYER (LAN GWUN 
FU DAU LAN GWUN CHAI).  Sister Na admitted that everyday after work she 
would be unhappy because she could not hear Ah Jat's funny gags.  She 
said, "All of my most extreme scenes I gave to Ah Jat.  From head to toe 
I liked him so much.  He has beauty from within, a sense of humor and 
always treated me to snacks!  (Do you mind men who flirt?)  He might not 
be able to do what he says.  I am OK with 'flirting men'!"  Sister Na 
after a heart break had another experience with cheating men and 
philandering men.  She said, "Men are naturally philandering, girls after 
a long relationship would love them more and have a very hard time with 
differentiating between love and sex.  Yet it doesn't mean that I accept 
philandering men.  I wouldn't torture myself like this!"
	Ah Jat after haring Sister Na's acceptance of "flirting men" 
immediately flirted, "Why did I treat Sister Na to tarts?  Because 'do to 
others as you would them do to you'  I look forward to Sister Na treating 
me to tarts!"  Ah Jat also revealed his favorite Sister Na "specialty".  
"My favorite is Sister Na's scar on her leg (she scorched her right leg 
on a motorcycle exhaust pipe while making PAPER MOON in 2011 and left a 
permanent scar).  Which goddess doesn't have a scar?  Her scar is 
perfect!"
	Ah Jat's comment made Sister Na very happy.  He even pointed out 
that his MR. AND MRS. GAMBLERS (LAN DOH FU DAU LAN DOH CHAI) co-star 
Fiona Sit Hoi Kei could not compare.  H said, "Tell Ah Fi to take a 
ruler and measure the sizes first!  When she sees Sister Na she has to 
automatically enhance her bust!  Sister Na is an otaku goddess!  (Are you 
afraid of your wife Krystal Tin Yui Nei's jealousy?)  People are greedy, 
no man is faithful and never screws around, but in this business people 
have their eyes on me.  I can't act up so my old lady is very at ease!"

* (2013/09/26) Donnie Yen Chi Tan yesterday attended the JOURNEY WITH 
YOU: HONG KONG BUS STORY exhibition opening ceremony.  He saw all the 
retro buss on display and rushed in excitedly.  He said that when he was 
little he often took the bus, now although it was inconvenient he still 
would take his son to ride the double decker bus overseas on their 
vacations.  Yen Chi Tan said, "Just now in the bus, I was thinking how to 
make an action scene on the bus and how to jump from the window to look 
good."  He said earlier that his movie earlier also had many scenes on 
the bus.  He also would like the bus company support for his movie about 
the Kowloon Walled City next year.  Will it be an action film?  Yen Chi 
Tan said, "I hope that the movies I make would stay in Hong Kong whether 
it is its subject or location.  If I don't fight, who would give me money 
to make it?  I will still have to act myself.  Because of the overseas 
market the film has to coordinate with the market."
	The film SPECIAL ID (DUT SHU SUN FUN) will be released next 
month.  In the film he played an undercover cop.  In the film he had to 
smoke and swear.  Playing a Wise Guy for the first time, he said that 
before hand he studied Chow Yun Fat's CITY ON FIRE (LUNG FU FUNG WON) 
performance.  At the same time he added street fighting, special forces 
combat and other techniques, the fighting will be more ferocious than in 
SPL (SAT POR LONG) and FLASH POINT (DOH FOR SIN).
	As the film SPECIAL ID's producer, action director and star Chi 
Tan said that this film was the toughest in his 30 year long career.  
Everyday he slept an average of 3 hours.  After the shoot he was a size 
smaller.  "This time I volunteered to be the producer and didn't charge 
extra.  Next tim I really have to consider carefully, being a producer 
was actually very tough.  Everything big or small was my responsibility."  
Passed away from cancer last October, screen writer Szeto Kam Yuen 
participated in the film.  Chi Tan missed his late friend.  "Szeto helped 
me when I needed it the most.  He was seriously ill but he still was 
talking about the film's progress.  I was very touched!"
	"I haven't made a modern fight film in 6 yars, this time I 
really fought until PK!  (Are you confident about the box office?)  It 
will depend on the right timing, the right place and the right people.  
It is beyond my ocntrol, I hope viewers will like it." 

* (2013/09/26) The Barbara Wong Chun Chun directed, Joseph Chang, Fay 
Bai Baihe starred film THE STOLEN YEARS since its release on September 12 
has made over HK$ 10 million as of 4PM yesterday.  It also broke the 140 
million yuan RMB mark in the Mainland and it remained on the top of the 
Taiwan box office since its release.  Currently in Morocco for a film 
festival, Wong Chun Chun was very happy about the Hong Kong box office 
and hoped that everyone would learn to cherish those around them; Joseph 
Chang and Bai Baihe also thanked Hong Kong viewers for their support.

* (2013/09/26) Tony Leung Chiu Wai who went to Qingdao for an event due 
to the typhoon had his flight delayed and did not return to Hong Kong 
until two nights ago.  He was unable to make his wife Carina Lau Ka 
Ling's film YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT ji 
SUN DOH LUNG WONG) premiere.
	Wai Jai was in good spirits when he saw the press in the airport 
lobby.  He said that three days ago due to typhoon no flight was 
available.  He originally planned to take the 2PM flight but in the end 
it was postponed until its evening arrival in Hong Kong and he was unable 
to make Ka Ling's premiere.  His film THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) 
will vie for the Oscar Best Foreign Film nomination and the Asian Pacific 
Film Festival awards.  He will compete against Andy Lau Tak Wa, Aaron 
Kwok Fu Sing, and Nick Cheung Ka Fai for Best Actor.  Wai Jai was happy 
that THE GRANDMASTERS will represent Hong Kong.  As for the Asia Pacific 
Film Festival Best Actor, he did not know who was his competition.  After 
finding out he said that everyone had a chance and he was not too 
confident.
	Wai Jai and Zhou Xun were linked in rumors.  Recently Zhou Xun 
was rumored to be pregnant.  He said, "Gossip is for everyone to gossip 
about, no one has to be too serious.  (Are you afraid that Ka Ling would 
see the report?)  It's just gossip, everyone is just gossiping."

* (2013/09/26) Aaron Kwok Fu Sing yesterday attended a PCCW-HKT press 
conference.  His film THE CONSPIRATORS (TUNG MAU) was selected for the 
Asia Pacific Film Festival, he pointed out that although the film could 
not be compared to THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) he was still happy 
about receiving the jury's appreciation.  His hard work has been 
recognized and he felt pleased.  In the end whether he would win or not 
it was unimportant.  The most important was this nomination kept his 
confidence going.
	Was he confident about an award?  Sing Sing said, "An actor has 
to have confidence.  The most important is to be yourself.  I thank the 
vent for giving me a shot of confidence.  I will continue to be an 
excellent actor, choose good scripts and make good movies."  Although 
good scripts were hard to com by, he has not planned to invest in films.  
Not only did he feel the risk was great, Hong Kong also lacked excellent 
new generation actors.
	Speaking of mobile phones, Sing Sing said that he was not one of 
the "lowered head clan".  Normally he rarely looked at his phone.  When 
he was making a movie he would leave the phone with his assistant.  He 
said that he has never sent any love text messages, normally online he 
would only look at his own photos and reports.  Recently the text 
messages that he received were all related to his film SILENT WITNESS.  
Sing Sing said, "This film after ten years in release in Beijing has 
already made 120 million yuan.  On the official site 1.61 million people 
were talking about the film.

TSUI HARK MESSES WITH WU XIA DETECTIVE

	Tsui Hark is still a big player in the Chinese film industry.  
His new 3D film YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT 
ji SUN DOH LUNG WONG) truly gets crazy with all the gimmicks.  Honestly 
it is very excessive and very exaggerated, after watching my eyes and 
brain were all messed up.  Yet actually the film is rich and mysterious, 
and Tsui Hark's numerous ideas and strong impulse  have to be admired.  
This time he messes with mystery and computer fantasy, cooking up an 
uniquely wonderful and colorful idea as well as dark humor.

YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON: Excessively Colorful
	This is DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK 
YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK) prequel, with Taiwan's Mark Chao (Chiu Yau 
Ting) in place of Hong Kong's Andy Lau Tak Wa as the young Tang Dynasty 
"detective" who took charge of a wu xia mystery that was even more 
complicated than the one in the first film.  Actually over 30 years ago 
Tsui Hark's first film THE BUTTERFLY MURDERS (DIP BIN) already merged 
detective mystery, wu xia epic and ancient technology inventions.  Now 
he heavily features computerize film images.  Not only does the action 
turn the world upside down, but the film also have a Red Cliff style 
chained ship sea battle and alien water monster, as well as prison 
tortures, vicious conspiracy, amazing medical technique and the Swallow 
Brothel courtesans in fairy like flight.  The film is very colorful.
	Due to both MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME and FLYING SWORDS OF 
DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GUP)'s Mainland box office success, now RISE 
OF THE SEA DRAGON is scheduled for a National Day golden week release.  
Thus Tsui Hark has the capital to add more material and mess around.  In 
particular he further tests computer effects.  Yet, Tsui Hark films often 
are messier the more material they have.  This film's story and gimmicks 
are outrageously numerous.  The sets and costumes are too flashy and too 
many, without any way to simplify and focus (ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA 
was of the Tsui Hark's few rich and colorful yet dramatically focused 
films).  This time undoubtedly is a feast for the eyes, luckily the film 
indeed has many entertaining potentials.  The end credit is wonderfully 
and particularly fun, seemingly with more to tell.  it also displays the 
flood of behind the scene talent.  Chinese style fantasy may get better 
and better.
	The cast are primarily new comers.  Chiu Yau Ting as Di Renjie and 
Yang Ying (Angelababy) as a courtesan look the part but are not lively 
enough.  Lin Gengxin as the prison doctor Sha Tuo Zhong is both handsome 
and humorous.  Feng Shaofeng as the Dali Temple security expert is also 
decent.  Carina Lau Ka Ling as Wu Zetian is even mightier than in the 
previous film.  Overall, Tsui Hark has the courage to act as he dares 
with unique specialty of his own.  Yet in comparison to foreign mystery 
special effect big films, current Chinese techniques are still very 
superfluous.  (three out of five stars)

  Nick Cheung puts on weight and age to play Fai, a 48-year-old
  down-out-out boxer, eking out a living in Macao training fat ladies to
  lose weight. Now Dan, a brat sharing his flat with her single mom,
  tortures him at home, and then Eddie Peng’s Qi, a hunk of a young man
  entering an MMA tournament to prove something, pesters him at the gym.
  Sure they make his life hell, but again, they may be angels in
  disguise. With exhilarating kick-boxing scenes edited at a furious pace
  abundant, director Dante Lam also fashions a warming drama about love,
  loyalty and redemption.

[ THE FILM CATALOGUE ]
  The young Dee Renjie arrives in the Imperial Capital, intent to become
  an officer of the law. Empress Wu, who is at the start of her reign, has
  sent the fiery-haired Detective Yuchi to investigate a sea monster that
  stalks the city at night. By chance, both Dee and Yuchi fight off the
  creature when it attacks a ceremonial procession carrying the beautiful
  courtesan Yin to be sacrificed at a temple to appease the Gods.
  Suspicious of the stranger, Yuchi has Dee imprisoned. Dee escapes with
  the help of visiting doctor Shatuo and together they discover that the
  upper reaches of society, including the Emperor himself, are addicted to
  a poisonous tea produced by Yuan's famous teahouse. Yuan, who was
  romantically attached to Yin, has been missing for months. Dee shadows
  the courtesan, who is under Yuchun's protection, until the sea monster
  reappears. Just as the two men are about to kill it, Yin reveals that
  the monster is her lover, Yuan. Yuan has been poisoned by a foreign
  Prince whose kingdom was overthrown by the Emperor. As the Prince's army
  readies itself on a nearby island to attack the capital, a real sea
  dragon rises from the deep.

	In the last film he lived to see released, director Park Cheol 
Soo explores human obsessive desire for sex. Based on a short novel of 
the same name, B.E.D. is told through the eyes of the three main 
characters, whose joy, passion, despair and death overflow into one bed. 
The man B. has an affair with a bored married woman E., who eventually 
dumps him. In order to get over E., B. marries D., a divorcee with a 
small daughter, but still keeps the bed in which he made love with E. His 
obsession with E. never goes away, as he attempts to get her back.
