MISCELLANEOUS * (2013/08/14) Louis Koo Tin Lok named Natalie Tong Wing Sze to play his fiance in the film INFERNO (TOH CHOOK SUN TIN 3D) and were thus linked in rumors. He was Tong Wing Sze's idol. In the film they had a kiss in the rain after a disaster. It might look romantic but at the time the temperature was less than 10 degrees Celsius, they had to brave the chill in a shivering kiss. That scene was shot in the Guangzhou commercial center. 15 fire engines, 60 fire fighters and over 100 extras were used with 50 onlookers. Although it looked like a reality show, they gave professional performance. Only the temperature dropped below ten degrees Celsius, with the flimsy costumes they were often shivering. However, seeing enthusiastic fans braving the rain to cheer them on, they finally completed this seemingly warm, touching, and passionate kiss scene that only they knew the pain of. Tong Wing Sze breathed a sigh of relief. "I am already very nervous about working on a kiss scene with my idol. The climate is so cold too and the costume is flimsy, my teeth are still chattering." She also described it as a physical challenge. In this scene she and Koo Tin Lok were split up during the escape from the fire. She worried about Koo Tin Lok's safety. From morning to night her tears almost ran dry. With the rain scene going until early morning, she was already extremely exhausted; yet when she provided her voice work later, Tong Wing Sze was so moved that she cried in the recording studio. Koo Tin Lok was suffered a little from being in the rain for 5 hours. "Earlier when we shot in Thailand, Lau Ching Wan had a very hard time with the heavy fire fighter gear and was envious of my flimsy costume. I never expect Guangzhou to be so cold. Even with ginger tea I am not warm enough. It is my turn to be envious of Ching Wan's heavy fire fighter gear." * (2013/08/14) THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) promoted in New York. Wong Kar Wai led Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhang Ziyi to attend. Yesterday Zhang Ziyi posted online their photo with Ang Lee from their encounter in New York. Zhang Ziyi wrote, "Flower Hid Under Leaves (Ip), Crouching Tiger Hid Again. Reunion in New York on Qixi." She turned a line from THE GRANDMASTERS and Ang Lee's CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON title into a couplet. This character was memorable for Zhang Ziyi and CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON was her claim to fame. Thus when she posted their photo she did not forget to write the line and the film title. * (2013/08/14) Eric Tsang Chi Wai and his son Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung appeared at the Peak's Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong for his wax figure unveiling ceremony. Chi Wai wore what exactly his wax figure was wearing, with the same pose and trademark smile he stood still next to the wax figure. Even Tsang Kwok Cheung who was responsible for the unveiling could not tell them apart and admitted back stage he truly picked the wrong father. Chi Wai was surprised how convincing the wax figure was. He said, "5 days ago we set the color for the wax figure, the first time I saw my own statue I was surprised. Hair, eyes, teeth even the facial hair was similar, but the real person is still prettier. I walked around the museum and I dare to say that mine is the most realistic." Chi Wai said that later he will work on Raymond Wong Pak Ming's Lunar New Year film. For several years Chi Wai made Lunar New Year films for TVB to compete with Wong Pak Ming. This time Wong Jing will make the Lunar New Year film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU for TVB. Did he switch sides to help Wong Pak Ming? He said, "Actually the one he asked dropped out, I lent a helping hand. (A lot of salary?) Of course, but it isn't astronomical yet. (Did you explain to TVB?) I told them. TVB is afraid that sending Chow Yun Fat to 'war' may not be enough of a victory, so they send me to drag him down." Chi Wai also revealed that his costume in the film will be exactly the same as Tony Leung Chiu Wai's in THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI). He will even duel with Sandra Ng Kwan Yu like Wai Jai and Zhang Ziyi. * (2013/08/13) Famous director Wong Kar Wai, Best Actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Mainland star Zhang Ziyi recently promoted the U.S. release of THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) on the 23rd in New York. Wai Jai's official hairstylist yesterday morning posted a photo of the trio. Wong Kar Wai in order to make THE GRANDMASTERS easily for Westerners to comprehend "rearranged" the story in the U.S version and added Chang Chen's role with Chang Chen and Wai Jai's duel and his romantic scenes with Ziyi, as well as the reason Zhao Benshan went to Foshan. THE GRANDMASTERS' response in the U.S. was decent. Earlier the premiere tickets were sold out. * (2013/08/13) Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming was rumored to receive HK$300 million for his first film. Yesterday he said that the company has already confirmed the rumor. "I can't say how much money it is, but the salary is great. It's so great that when I heard it I was stunned, since I am a rookie after all." Ma Kwok Ming also said that he would learn from director Frankie Chan Fun Kei and producer Jackie Chan. * (2013/08/13) DaDa Chan Jing's sudden retirement has yielded numerous rumors. Yesterday her belly was rumored to be "swollen". Earlier when she attended LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) production start ceremony she was much fuller and admitted that she gained 8 pounds. She said that sh had to lose weight before work began. She resigned on the eve of LAN 3's production start, speculation was inevitable. DaDa's manager Celia Sie Lim Chi yesterday still has not made contact with DaDa. She has not heard about DaDa's "belly "rumor" either. Earlier she revealed that she would discuss the matter with a lawyer, she said that she has not taken any action yet. LAN 3 went without DaDa but the film still had to continue the shoot. Earlier Director Wilson Chin Kwok Wai revealed that he would pull DaDa's original story and adjust the script anew. Producer Ng Kin Hung wrote online, "Shuffle the deck anew, LAN KWAI FONG 3 gets stronger and stronger." A fan responded, "A mouse's dropping stank up the whole pot of rice!" Ng Kin Hung said, "Dropping scrapping in progress." Playing hot night spot boss lady in LAN 3, Christine Ng Wing Mei posted, "Whether wet and dry clean, this lady will shuffle the schedule to support you." Lady Ng said that DaDa's resignation also messed up her work schedule. She would continue to support Ng Kin Hung and did not mind make room for the shoot in her schedule. Lady Ng said that she did not know DaDa and believed that everyone had their reasons of doing something. She had no comment. Pseudo models in the film would have sexy performance, Lady Ng said that she also prepared clothing to show her substance. In addition, yesterday a report claimed that Wong Jing was interested in working on a new film with DaDa and Iris Chung Choi Yi, but DaDa looked down on Iris and turned it down. Yesterday Wong Jing admitted that he would ask DaDa and Chapman To Man Jat for a new film at the end of the year, but about the rumor he said, "My story isn't set yet, it's too early to say anything." To Man Jat yesterday said, "Nothing is confirmed yet, only DaDa and I were confirmed." Ah Jat earlier turned to convince DaDa to take back her retirement decision, but because he has been busy at work he did not follow up. However this film has already been confirmed. Even if DaDa would be unable to perform in the end, the film would not be affected much. * (2013/08/13) Angelababy and Korean hunk Kim Bum starred in the Tsui Hark directed film YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE: RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT ji SUN DOH LUNG WONG). Baby played the "peerless courtesan" Yin Ruiji, who ran into a rich kid Kim Bum and developed a romance. Baby as the courtesan was the focus that everyone longed for. The mystery that Di Renjie and his colleagues ran into also was closely related to Kim Bum and Baby's relationship. Earlier Baby and Kim Bun online mentioned, "No matter rich or poor, no matter healthy or ill!" They seemed to hint that their romance would have continuous obstacles. * (2013/08/13) Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo) and Japanese star Masami Nagasawa starred in the John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) directed new film THE CROSSING (TAI PING LUN). Earlier they worked on location on an isolated hill in Huairou. Reportedly they were working on a passionate kiss scene in a cavern. In the film they had a life and death romance. Around 7:30AM, Gum Sing Mo left his hotel. He was dressed so casually that the Mainland media joked that he was collecting for the electric company. Later he went to the location. After changing into his costume, drizzle began. He carried an umbrella and entered the cavern. Then Masami Nagasawa also arrived and displayed a sweet smile. Seemingly she and Gum Sing Mo were working pleasantly. Ng Yu Sum looked serious on the set and later entered the cavern to direct the shoot personally. * (2013/08/13) Fala Chen and Gordon Lam Ka Tung two nights ago attended their film TALES FROM THE DARK 2 (KEI WAN YEH) audience appreciation event. Speaking of Ka Tung's side nude performance in the film, Fala said that during that shoot she witnessed his great figure, but on and off camera she avoided looking at his important part. Would she be able to accept full nudity? She said, "In the film I had double for the shower scene. The double was in better shape than me. Nude scenes depended on the story, I felt an actor had to be professional. Slowly I had to raise my ability of acceptance." Ka Tung said that only when many were envious that he worked with Fala did he realize that she was a goddess to many. He did not expect her performance to be so open, which made him question why Fala would make this category III film. Yet he did not dare to ask. They had even less time to discuss her personal life. He also revealed that in his Christmas film release FIRESTORM (FUNG BO) he will display his six pack abdominal muscles. During the shoot he was training under Andy Lau Tak Wa's supervision. Everyday he only had breakfast and three bananas. * (2013/08/13) Kelvin Kwan Chor Yiu yesterday attended the TeaWood restaurant branch store opening. He admitted that he was lucky. Over half a year ago he worked on a micro movie to promote the restaurant. He did not expect how effective it was. He said, "I became good friends with the boss, hopefully later I will have a chance to buy in and make money together; because I have always wanted to open a music restaurant and supper club." He admitted that with his September concert on the way, he was inevitably nervous and had a lot of pressure. Yet even with a lot of pressure he would not easily quit, seemingly he took a jab at his co-star DaDa Chan Jing. Kwan Chor Yiu said, "I feel it's very regrettable and wasteful. Actually as a friend, I would support her decision. However she could have handled it a little better, even if she was resigning she had to make sure how her remaining work had to be handled. Honestly, I have missed a lot of valuable chances. After that I worked with 200% effort because I understood that chances were rare. The film industry had many people who have toiled for years for a chance. DaDa had many good opportunities but did not know how to cherish them." Kwan Chor Yiu revealed that two nights ago at the HARDCORE COMEDY (CHUNG HAU MEI) film promotion, although DaDa was absence many viewers took the initiative to send her their regards and concerns. Hopefully she would be able to calm down and handle the matter at hand. * (2013/08/13) Director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) yesterday along with actors Angel Chiang Ka Man and Edward Ma Chi Wai appeared on Nancy Sit Ka Yin's Metro Radio program to promote their film A SECRET BETWEEN US (DAI YUT CHI BUT SI NEI). Yip Lim Sum said that the film had many special screenings and was responded to well. As for the performance of the two new comers, he was very pleased; he chose them out of over 30 people because they were ordinary enough and met with the character requirements. Chiang Ka Man and Ma Chi Wai had to work on a bed scene already in their first film. Was it awkward? Ma Chi Wai said, "It was awkward, luckily the director explained it very clearly before hand and the shoot went very smoothly." Did they ask to clear the set? Yip Lim Sum said, "They are both new comers, how would they dare? However I did clear the set." Chiang Ka Man played the character from age 16 to 26. She felt that the hardest was playing younger as a 16 year old girl. * (2013/08/12) Anna Kay (Yip Hei Kei) after being linked to Heavenly King Aaron Kwok Fu Sing is much better known in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. More directors also approached her with films. Recently Stanley Kwan Kam Peng also personally flew to Beijing to meet with her to invite her to perform in a film LEFT EAR. After their meeting, Anna Kay even posted their photo online. Kwan Kam Peng will produce the film, with JUMP ASHIN's Taiwan director Lin Yu-Hsien. The lead actress will be Ni Ni and Anna Kay will be the second lead. The lead actor will be SCARLET HEART's Kenny Lin Gengxin. Th film is based on Mainland writer Rao Xueman's novel of the sam name and will start production in the Mainland. In the story a 17 year old girl wants to turn bad, but because of her poor hearing in her left ear she could not hear anyone who spoke on her left side. Such an introverted girl one day suddenly has a crush on a guy, but the guy likes another girl. Aside from Kwan Kam Peng, Wilson Chin Kwok Wai also wanted Anna Kay to join LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3). Yet after Anna Kay read the script she finally turned it down. "I felt the character wasn't suitable for me, in addition my schedule didn't have room. After discussing it with my manager I decided to turn down the film." Will she work on Ah Kwan's production? Anna Kay said, "We just met, a lot aren't set yet. Let's talk about it later! I of course want to work with Director Kwan very much because I appreciated his ROUGE (YIN JI KAU) very much. If we have a chance to work together of course I will be very happy." In the middle of next month Anna Kay will work on Mainland director Sun Zhou's new film, in which she will work with Wang Baoqiang. * (2013/08/12) The Gao Qunshu directed, Huang Xiaoming and girlfriend Angelababy starred film CRIMES OF PASSION opened Thursday in the Mainland and only made 5.3 million on opening day. The next day it fell to 2.8 million and three days ago around 3.8 million. With the three day box office of 12 million, the performance of course was less than ideal. Although this film's biggest selling point was Xiaoming and Baby's first film collaboration, viewers did not seem to care and would rather watch Guo Jingming's TINY TIMES 2.0. * (2013/08/12) Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming recently with the TVB hit series TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES 2 is rising in popularity. He along with the cast has become hot properties in the industry. Toiling away in TVB for 14 years, Ma Ming once played "Siu Keung" (cockroach) in Dayo Wong Tsz Wah's music video BLUE SKY. Earlier he even received many film company offers, some even made astronomical offers for his big screen debut. Yet Ma Ming finally chose to work with the film industry big brother big Jackie Chan and star in the Jackie Chan produced romantic comedy YUEN LOI SI YAU HEI (DESTINY ARRIVES AS A GAME, tentative title) as a lucky handsome lawyer who is between 7 beauties. Jackie Chan invited buddies Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Irene Wan Bik Ha to participate and even considered whether he would guest star. The lead actress will be the new star of the 350 million yuan RMB Mainland hit film LOVE IS NOT BLIND's Zhang Zixuan. Aside from her 49th Golden Horse Award Best New Actor and 31st Hundred Flower Award Best New Artist nominations, she also has worked with Wen Zhang , Harwick Lau Hoi Wai, Mini Yang Mi, Tong Dawei, Shawn Yue Man Lok and others on television. She even starred in Mayday's music video MY FIRST LOVE AGAIN. Reportedly Ma Ming and Zhang Zixuan will have a passionate kiss scene. Aside from guest starring as a fire fighter in 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT), Ma Ming has never worked on a film. Reportedly his first lead salary was 3 million. Jackie Chan chose Ma Ming because of his performance in TRIUMPH 2, which made him believe that he had the ability to bring to life the "Legal world Cool Demon" in the film. The film will start production in October. The film company only confirmed that the Ma Kwok Ming will be in the new film and was not at liberty to discuss the salary. * (2013/08/12) After 3 years director Tsui Hark again worked on his new film YOUNG DETECTIVE DEE: RISE OF THE SEA DRAGON (DIK YUN KIT ji SUN DOH LUNG WONG). As an extension of the previous film DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK), Carina Lau Ka Ling will guest star as a young Wu Zetian. Tsui Hak will use over 60 sets to perfectly display the first 3D underwater world in Chinese film to be the Tsui Hark film with the most sets. The film will open September 28. * (2013/08/12) The 24 year old pseudo model DaDa Chan Jing announced her retirement last Thursday. When ever her manager Celia Sie Lim Chi has lost with her, two days ago she appeared and worked on additional scenes for the Pang Ho Cheung directed MAN JU SA WA. Reportedly DaDa was acting up and ignoring her manager, Sie Lim Chi fell ill from being so mad and was prepared to see a lawyer about the contract today. Claiming to have mood disorder DaDa two nights ago suddenly called her company nanny to apologize but then vanished again. Sie Lin Chi said that she did not have the energy to talk about DaDa as she herself was ill. After clear consideration over night she decided to meet with a lawyer today. She said that she has never been able to get in touch with DaDa directly. Originally LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) has already begun production, but because DaDa's resignation the script had to be changed and the production postponed. Since DaDa returned to work for MAN, would she have a chance to work on LAN 3 again? Director Wilson Chin Kwok Wai said that yesterday Sie Lim Chi repeatedly apologized and said that DaDa cried and apologized to the nanny, but Sie Lim Chi was not able to communicate with her directly. Now LAN 3's script has already been changed and would not hinder the production progress for one actor. Currently he only heard that she admitted her wrongdoing but refused to appear in person to explain herself. It was too late for her to turn around. At first DaDa took the initiative and ask producer Ng Kin Hung about making LAN 3, then she suddenly retired. Th worst part was others misunderstanding the film company and her manager teamed up to bully a little girl. As for compensation the film company will handle the matter. Sie Lim Chi was asked if DaDa apologized. She said that two nights ago a company colleague suddenly received DaDa's call, she apologized but did not say anything else; yesterday th company colleague has already lost contact with her. Chin Kwok Wai yesterday blasted DaDa online, citing that since she was able to work on another film her health was not an issue. She was using everyone's sympathy to make her own selfish political decision! Her girlfriend Calinda Chan Yuen Wai also criticized DaDa and said that she had no idea what she was doing, turning a rivalry into a disappearance. She suggested for DaDa to be blacklisted. * (2013/08/12) Susan Shaw Yam Yam, Kelvin Kwan Chor Yiu, Michelle Wai Si Nga yesterday attended a HARDCORE COMEDY (CHUNG HAU MEI) advanced screening audience appreciation event. DaDa Chan Jing was absent because she already "announced her retirement", the promotional work fell to other actors. Shaw Yam Yam who has worked with DaDa on 3 films so far has not contacted her, as she was afraid that she could not hold back from yelling at DaDa and worried that she would ask her to stay and affect her decision. Sh felt that DaDa might have her reasons. "She worked so hard for her success today, but she chose to return to be an ordinary person. She definitely had to be very determined or perhaps she wanted to do something that made her feel happy. If I can find her, I would definitely say, 'Some toiled for 40 or 50 years and still didn't have her achievement now. You did it in two years and it came truly too easily for her. Easy come easy go!'" Shaw Yam Yam felt that DaDa's retirement was regrettable but felt that her mysterious appearance for additional shoot was honorable. Unfortunately, vanishing from the other new film on the day after the production start ceremony was irresponsible. Kwan Chor Yiu and Wai Si Nga said that without DaDa's support they still were not worried about their promotional plans and the box office. They both agreed that they did not feel DaDa was irresponsible, instead they said with concern, "The news is a little shocking, her retirement is somewhat regrettable because she is a rising actress. Although I support her decision and want her to be happy, I am worried about her emotions as well." * (2013/08/12) Lau Kar Leung's widow Mary Jan Reimer (Yung Jing Jing) at her late husband's funeral publicly pursued the bonus that Shaw owed Master Lau. Master Lau's "Final Seven" ceremony was completed two days ago as well. Yung Jing Jing received Shaw employee's response of "Nothing to give" and said that she would personally call Mona Fong to ask. Yesterday Yung Jing Jing wrote on facebook that two nights ago she called Madame Run Run Shaw Mona Fong's mobile phone and no one picked up. Finally it went to Madame Shaw's voice mail recording. Yesterday she also posted a photo of Master Lau's funeral signature book, which had Mona Fong's signature. Yet on the day of the service no one saw Ms. Fong, which intrigued her. Yung Jing Jing wrote, "Where did this signature come from? It is truly a mystery!" She studied the signature and thought it was very close. She believed that it was someone she was familiar with. Yung Jing Jing mentioned Master Lau's relationship with Shaw. Back then he was a labor leader and initiated numerous stuntman strikes to force Shaw to stop production. He was also very radical, once he pretended to throw an ashtray at an important figure and worsen the relationship. She said that there was a price for justice, but it was worth paying. * (2013/08/12) Just returning from studying in the U.S. Fala Chen yesterday attended a film novel press conference with Gordon Lam Ka Tung. During her two months away from Hong Kong rumors arose, yesterday she personally defused them. She said that she was still in contact her ex but declined to discuss the chance of getting back together. She also explained that she was unable to take time off from her classes to promote TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES 2 for TVB. Fala was very happy that recently thanks to the show she received many business performance and script offers. She has not decided if she would take fall acting courses. Her TVB was rumored to be expired. Fala revealed that Ricky Wong Wai Kay has not made contact, but many companies have negotiated with her. TVB was in the running but she still has not made up her mind. She said, "After over a decade of television, I want to make movies. Money isn't the most important. The most important is getting along and opportunity to develop." Lam Ka Tung performed his first side nude performance in the film. He said after FIRESTORM (FUNG BO) he was in shape so he did not mind showing off to everyone's benefit. In the future if the story required, he would not eliminate a full front nudity performance. * (2013/08/11) DaDa Chan Jing after two short days of retirement yesterday wore a medical mask and returned to work on additional scenes in Chai Wan for the Pang Ho Cheung directed film MAN JU SA WA (RED SPIDER LILY) to repay him for the success that VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) has given to her. Yesterday morning DaDa took a taxi alone to the location. The production was very secretive as even the trailers that were parked nearby were sent away. She darted inside from the taxi. Around 1PM DaDa after completing the shoot immediately left in a film company cargo van. When she saw reporters she not only wore a medical mask and glasses but also pulled down her hat. The cargo van through the Western Harbour Crossing headed toward Mei Foo. In order to shake the pursuing press it drove around in Sham Shui Po and Cheung Sha Wan. Finally DaDa was dropped off in Olympian City residential complex and tried to go inside, but security stopped her. Thus she went into the shopping center and looked a little panicked. Reporters asked her about the Celia Sie Lim Chi contract breaking dispute, at first she lowered her head and did not respond, then she said lowly, "Sorry, please give me a little space now." Finally she lost the reporters through a fire exit. Pang Ho Cheung said that he did not expect DaDa to appear so he was not on the set. However he said that DaDa in MAN played a model. Yesterday's additional shoot was her modeling scene in the film. The team already arranged for a double, but when the real DaDa arrived of course he could not ask for more. She simply finished the shoot in one take. Pang Ho Cheung yesterday said, "DaDa this morning notified the producer that she could come, she took a taxi to the location. I didn't have a chance to see her at all and I didn't communicate with her." DaDa was rumored to have contacted Pang Ho Cheung before making her decision. "Earlier she mentioned something to me. Once she called me and kept crying, I was at work so we didn't talk in detail. I know she has a lot of pressure, has emotional problems and isn't too happy. I told her to think clearly. If she feels that leaving would make her happy, she should choose the road that she is the most comfortable with." Would he feel any regret? He said, "When (Isabella) Leong Lok Si left show business, everyone asked me the same question. It's not about whether it's regrettable or not. Everyone have the right to choose their own road, how can I comment on whether it is regrettable?" * (2013/08/11) DaDa Chan Jing suddenly announced her retirement from show business due to emotional disorder. She and her manager still had a contract with over 5 years as well as film, advertising and business performance contracts. Some have estimated the damage to reach HK$10 million. She also had to carry the name of lacking actor's ethics. LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) director Wilson Chin Kwok Wai yesterday blasted DaDa, blaming her for a lack of professionalism and appeasing her "princess disorder"; the film company would pursue any damage her sudden resignation has caused to the end. When DaDa started and made LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO) she was already the lead actress. Chin Kwok Wai invited her to collaborate again on LAN 3. The film was about to start production in days when she suddenly retired and messed up the plan. Yesterday Chin Kwok Wai was very upset about DaDa's vanishing. He said that he was already sounding all alarms to look for DaDa but has not received any reply. Her manager Celia Sie Lim Chi repeatedly apologized to her and said that she has not been able to contact DaDa either. She said that she would take legal action against DaDa. Chin Kwok Wai said that LAN 3 will soon start production. Now he could only pull DaDa's story. She needed not feel that she was very influential, as he only needed to strengthen other story lines or add actors. DaDa's character in LAN 3 was a continuation of the one in LAN KWAI FONG. The story developed to after she got married but she still wanted to go out at night. Chin Kwok Wai said, "DaDa's behavior set a bad example, lacked professionalism, did not follow the spirit of the contract and had no actor ethics. She just resigned with one line online, even her manager has lost contact. (Will she be blacklisted?) With this behavior working together again will be very hard." Chin Kwok Wai said that DaDa's irresponsibility was disappointing, not only making others suffer monetary losses but also adding a lot of trouble. If she had mood disorder did she have proof from the doctor? At least she should ask the question and then discuss how to handle it, no one could force her but she could not vanish without a sound. He said, "She indeed has a disorder, it's princess disorder. Throwing a tantrum over reports that she "bullied" a junior colleague, she is an irresponsible actress. She dislikes it and just quits? She Cannot be appeased." Earlier before LAN 3, Chin Kwok Wai pointed out that he discussed the script with DaDa many times. She was not resistant. She also attended the script read through with our actors and the costume fitting, and appeared to be very happy. He said, "I am the most afraid of the outside misunderstanding me for forcing DaDa to do something, during the script negotiation she was not displeased." Some pointed out that DaDa withstood a lot of pressure? Chin Kwok Wai said that some actors after 20 years still did not have an opportunity or award, whose pressure would be greater? He said that this was an excuse, why did she so flashy and have no pressure who she attended film festivals overseas? Did DaDa's resignation impact the film? Chin Kwok Wai said that work had to be stopped for a few days, and a over 100 people dance scene had to be changed. Producer Ng Kin Hung said that the damage had to be calculated, currently the production issue had to be handled first. He and DaDa have worked together a few times, aside from LAN KWAI FONG they also worked on HARDCORE COMEDY (CHUNG HAU MEI). Her salary also kept rising; this incident was quite regrettable; the film company would pursue the damage that her sudden resignation has caused to the end. DaDa's manager Sie Lim Chi said that she has lost contact with DaDa and would not take action the next few days. Conceivably when she read the reports she would realize she was in big trouble; if she still has not appeared by Monday she would discuss the matter with a lawyer. Meanwhile as everyone thought that she truly had mood disorder, yesterday morning she was secretly working on Pang Ho Cheung's film. She was obviously dodging LAN 3. The trigger of the incident actually was DaDa being upset with Ava Yu Kiu having a bigger role than hers. She was also upset that she was interviewed with Mika Siu and Celia Kwok Wing Yi on the day of the production start, which made her moody. DaDa originally was the one who wanted to take part in LAN 3. The team also started production early because of her. Now she turned on the team and instead worked on another film. Sie Lim Chi admitted, "Around noon I got a call from the director (Pang Ho Cheung) that DaDa went to work. DaDa's behavior is irresponsible, I am very disappointed in her. (Was she upset that Yu Kiu had a bigger rol?) DaDa indeed has asked me why!" Director Pang only said, "I am working on another film, I am not sure about anything else." Reportedly DaDa was only guest starring in that film and has already completed 80% of her role. Since she announced her retirement, the director originally planned to wrap up with a double. Yet in the morning he was able to get in contact with DaDa and finally she appeared on the set. Outsiders speculated that DaDa found a big backer, but actually she was not dating. She was just moody. However her "ostrich strategy" might cost her HK$10 million in contract breaking damages. Yu Kiu yesterday admitted that she was the benefactor. "We have known each other for two weeks and aren't familiar. (Gregory) Wong Chung Hiu said that she was very direct. If she didn't like me, she would tell me directly. (Is your role bigger than hers?) We don't have anything to do with each other, we work separately! During the meeting the film stipulated two lead actresses and the ratio was the same, but my story was with (Jason) Chan Pak Yu and hers was in a love triangle. If you have to count then indeed I have more screen time. (Did you benefit?) Only a few minutes! Because the company notified me about the production delay, I took the few hours to get my hair done. At night I will work on LAN 3." "Victim" Wong Chung Hiu said that he would the director's decision. Whitney Hui Yik Nei was to play DaDa and Wong Chung Hiu's third party. She said that she was already happy to have a part and believed that she would not be affected. Chapman To Man Jat and DaDa were close and was very worried about her condition. Yesterday morning Ah Jat and DaDa talked on the phone but he did not reveal what it was about. He only said, "In this business no one is an absolute necessity. Back then when Bruce Lee passed away, GAME OF DEATH still wrapped. Yet I feel a person has to be responsible, when you resign you have to give an advanced notice! Before you retire don't you have to finish all your jobs first? Thus I would try to talk to her. (How was her mood?) Her mood really isn't so stable, so I plan to wait until she cools down first before communicating with her in a few days." DaDa's colleague and co-star Kwok Wing Yi yesterday admitted that DaDa threw a tantrum about Yu Kiu having a bigger role than her. "About a month ago when we first got the script, DaDa called me and said why would her role be smaller than Yu Kiu. She even said that she would fight for it with the manager. Later I didn't ask again if she was successful. I wasn't interested in finding out because having a part was already great for me. (Did DaDa sound very upset?) She was very upset. She said that she didn't want to have such a small role." As for DaDa looking down on her junior colleagues and even not wanting to take photos with them, Celia helplessly said, "Yes, she doesn't like to take photos with others. She wants to be photographed alone. Maybe everyone's levels are different. Best Supporting Actress, she won an award! (Did DaDa personally say to you that she did not want to take pictures together?) She would tell me to have mine taken first. I wasn't upset because our positions were different." * (2013/08/11) Nick Cheung Ka Fai and director Dante Lam Chiu Yin, child actress Crystal Lee Hing Hau yesterday appeared in Mongkok to promote the film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN). Cheung Ka Fai said that he has not come to Mongkok in a long time and already forgot when the last time was. UNBEATABLE after its premiere and test screenings had decent responses, as industry insiders all gave praises. Cheung Ka Fai said, "Morale is very high. This film is different from past Lam Chiu Yin work. This time he achieved balance, aside from the exciting action it also had warmth. It is also suitable for female viewers." Many have praised his UNBEATABLE performance as better than his Best Actor winning BEAST STALKER (JING YUN). Cheung Ka Fai said, "I of course want to win again and again, but I want to break through myself the most. I am planning to work with Lam Chiu Yin on an unprecedented period film." * (2013/08/11) The grand master of a generation Lau Kar Leung months ago passed away from illness. His widow Mary Jane Reimer (Yung Jing Jing) and their two daughters with family, friends and disciples yesterday held a final seven ceremony in Tai Po Ling Wan Temple. They presented incense and chanted in hopes of Master Lau reaching Sukhavati soon. Yung Jing Jing personally cooked vegetarian dishes. Her daughters Man Yi and Hung Yi were hand to help. Dressed in black Yung Jing Jing appeared to be much calmer and often smiled. She said that after the ceremony the Temple would has a spirit tablet officially for Master Lau and chant for him. His ashes later will be placed in Po Fook Hill and a spirit tablet will also be at home. Yung Jing Jing said, "Earlier when I retrieved the Master's old watch, I got sentimental and shed tears. I have to learn to control my emotions." Speaking of the Shaw bonus progress, Yung Jing Jing quoted the Buddha. "In Buddhism you have to give before you get. If you are not willing to give, you will never get. Two nights ago I spoke with those involved and the reply was three words, 'nothing to give'. Yet this result cannot represent Madame Run Run Shaw (Mona Fong) or Mr. Shaw's comment. So far I still haven't received a call from Mrs. Shaw. I will wait awhile, ultimately I have been talking to an employee. It may not be representative." When asked if further action will be taken, Yung Jing Jing said, "Later I will personally call Fong Yat Wa to follow up, which should be done. Ultimately she is my elder." Will she give up? Yung Jing Jing described that this was for charity, she hoped to be able to perform this good deed. "Because of my launch, Mr. and Mrs. Shaw will be able to do something charitable and indirectly for Master Lau. I very much hope that they are willing." Sin Kwok Lam supported the move. He said, "Shaw doesn't have to feel it's an old debt collection. This time is only an excuse, feeling that Master's contribution to Shaw will be able to get something started and donate a sum to repay show business. I feel what we take the society we use in the society. Shaw and Lau Kar Leung's relationship is inseparable and should support this fund." Sin Kwok Lam revealed that he was having a tombstone made that will take up 15 niches. It is still being designed. Hopefully it will display Master's film achievements and kung fu. Rose Chan Ka Wun wished for her master's master a safe journey and his kung fu and spirit will endure. * (2013/08/10) Based on Lillian Lee Bik Wa novel, the Gordon Chan Ka Seung, Teddy Robin Kwan and Lawrence Ah Mon (Lau Kwok Cheung) directed ghost film TALES FROM THE DARK 2 (KEI WAN YEH) performed comparably to the previous film TALES FROM THE DARK (MAI LEI YEH) with the Lo Hoi Pang played Z.Y. LEUNG. Two nights ago it opened with HK$450,000. Another native Hong Kong film THE WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI) received rave reviews at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and had a non mainstream subject of dance. When it opened two days ago it made HK$360,000 with advanced screenings. Who said no one supported Hong Kong film? * (2013/08/10) Martial Artist Law Ho Ming immigrated to Canada at age 9 and began studying martial arts at age 15. He excels in Taekwondo, mixed martial art, praying mantis fists and other styles. After graduating with a criminology degree from the Simon Fraser University. Because of his love for martial arts, in 2007 he went to Beijing to participate in Jackie Chan's disciple recruitment and officially joined the business. He said, "That year my Papa had terminal stage cancer. When I received the call to compete in Beijing, I turned it down because my Papa couldn't go. Before his passing Papa learned about this and encouraged me to go out and try, not to miss the opportunity. Finally the next day he passed away and the day after I went to compete in Beijing in hopes of not disappointing his expectation of me." Although his run in the top 20, through a friend's recommendation Law Ho Ming returned to Hong Kong and participated in action film direction and performance. Earlier he participated in the Dante Lam Chiu Yin film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN). He said, "The most memorable was the fight with (Eddie) Peng Yu-Yen. The director told me to keep chasing him to hit until the director yelled cut. Finally the director praised that everyone fought beautifully." Aside from on screen development, he also hoped to have a chance to be an action director to give him more dimensions in his development. * (2013/08/10) The 24 year old DaDa Chan Jing two nights ago around 10PM decided to retire from performing with the online post, "Life is very tiring, gossip is a fearful thing". After less than 24 hours of "fermentation", DaDa's retirement rumors flew all over. Although she cited emotional disorder and doctor's recommendation to stop on screen work as reasons, contract violation legal responsibilities followed. Aside from not making the estimated HK$5 million in the next half a year, she might be on the hook for compensation. Leaving might not be so easy. Chan Jing attended the LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) production start ceremony as the lead actress and was excited about the water scene with Korean hunks in the film. Next day however the report claimed that she was arrogant and minded sharing the stage with junior colleague Mika Siu. DaDa reportedly was upset that her manager Celia Sie Lim Chi set her up in order to increase recognition of her junior colleague, in a rage she quit. DaDa yesterday morning around 11AM "appeared" online to explain the reason for her retirement. She said that due to mood disorder and mental condition, the doctor suggested for hr to stop current on screen work. She hoped that people would understand and apologized for any trouble that she might have caused anyone. DaDa wrote, "Now I just want to be a simple person: work an ordinary job, be with my family, study and add value for myself, have a man who loves me and only belongs to me, dress causally but don't need to be revealing, then laugh, cry, eat and drink with the whole family until my old age." This year when she won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET), she set a goal to receive a Best Actress nomination in five years; now she decided to take another route in order to avoid exposure and find a man who loves her and belongs to me. DaDa yesterday was absent from a restaurant promotion. Sie Lim Chi was fortunate that the boss accepted a change. For now she has not received any compensation request. She said, "I only found out about DaDa's statement after the media notified me. Later she sent me a text message. Two days ago co-workers called DaDa, she cried and said that a report said that she was arrogant. She was upset, but I didn't know what happened. I lost contact with her, an adult with a sense of responsibility would contact us." Sie Lim Chi did not feel that the dispute rumor between DaDa and her junior colleague triggered the incident. Sie Lim Chi was disappointed in DaDa. "She issued a statement, said she quit and just quit. The company took jobs for her and signed a contract with her. Since she did not cherish it, many people would line up for it. We still have several years of manager contract, her work schedule was very packed and included two movies." Sie Lim Chi understood that artists had moods and stress, if she had any problem they could have talked about it before making the decision. "I won't force DaDa, but her current way is in reverse." She denied that she argued with DaDa. As for whether she would take action against DaDa, Sie Lim Chi said, "Currently I have to first get in contact with DaDa, she only sent me a reply of 'not attending events'. Now we have to handle the problem at hand, when I have a chance I would get a legal consult." DaDa claimed to have a mood disorder. Sie Lim Chi had no idea. She said that DaDa three days ago was still fine, suddenly something happened two days ago. Was she worried that DaDa would commit suicide? Sie Lim Chi said, "No way? She wouldn't take it that far!" She was not sure if the matter was related to a breakup. As for people online making the connection to Alex Fong Lik Sun touching her on the SUPER TRIO MAXIMUS program, Sie Lim Chi said with certainty that it was unrelated. Was DaDa upset that the company arranged for her to entertain business contacts? Sie Lim Chi said, "Absolutely not, we never had any business entertainment. If we did, she would have left long ago." DaDa with "I want to retire" pushed out HK$5 million that she would have made in the next half of the year. Reportedly, DaDa and Sie Lim Chi's management company still had a 5 year contract. She is working on MAN JU SA WA (former titled HEUNG GONG JAI), will be working on the soon to start production LAN KWAI FONG 3, and 3 more movies. In addition this year she returned to be JASON'S FRUIT STORE spokesmodel and will have a large scale promotional event on the 18th. Sh already stated that she will not attend. The damage that advertisers suffered and the spokesmodel contract, as well as other business performance events involved the issue of compensation. Conceivably Sie Lim Chi would pursue DaDa for it. If DaDa would demand a contract termination, the compensation would take awhile to calculate unless DaDa was determined to vanish completely for 5 years. When the contract came to term then she would have a chance. DaDa's sudden retirement announcement left LAN KWAI FONG 3 director Wilson Chin Kwok Wai scrambling. He said, "I am waiting for her manager to give me a response before deciding. Everyone signed the contract, had to respect the spirit of the contract and professional ethics. The film will start work tomorrow. She should respond with what she wants to do." Chin Kwok Wai said that LAN KWAI FONG 3 will not be a category III film or have any nudity. DaDa will be the lead actress and have many dramatic scenes with performance potential. Did he have a Plan B? Chin Kwok Wai said, "It's still being planned. As for compensation, it too will have to wait until she officially replies." * (2013/08/10) DaDa Chan Jing's sudden online retirement announcement has three rumored versions in show business. Version 1: DaDa was upset about being set up, being accused of arrogance at the LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) production start ceremony when she only grabbed her friend Celia Kwok and declined to be interviewed with her junior colleague Mika Siu. After the incident saw press, DaDa was angry that the company did not protect her image and only used her. Thus two days ago around noon she revealed that she was disillusioned online and cried over the matter. After discussing with her family she decided to retire. Version 3: DaDa has always been popular. The more famous she became, the higher social status her suitors had. In recent years she has been linked to an Indonesian restaurant heir, then caught on a date with Taiwan rich kid star Wang Chia Liang. Celia Sie Lim Chi also was rumored to have introduced the Kowloon Bus heir to her. She however has denied all the rumors. DaDa complained that the media gave her too many rumors so she was unable to find the real deal. Recently DaDa was rumored to have found a Mainland rich kid true love. He did not want her to withstand too much pressure and suggested for her to retire and take care of her compensation issues for her. Version 3: DaDa worked on the supernatural film TALES FROM THE DARK (MAI LEI YEH). Because she was too in character and did not know how to leave the character, she often suspected that she was being haunted and even said to workers that she ran into ghosts. Under paranoia her mood was affected. Having worked with DaDa on two films, Susan Shaw Yam Yam said that when DaDa made TALES FROM THE DARK she was often ill and even mentioned to everyone that she ran into ghosts. Shaw Yam Yam felt that DaDa gave herself too much pressure and did not know how to release it. If she was determined to retire it would be good. She would not try to change her mind and would only silently wish her well. "If she wants to change business and someone is willing to give her a chance, she should give it a try. In particular her Mama is very worried about her daughter's health. I have been an exotica star before, when I wanted to change jobs no one dared to hire m. If now the society is able to accept her then it would be the best." * (2013/08/10) Winning the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET), DaDa Chan Jing 4 months later announced her retirement from the screen. VULGARIA director Pang Ho Cheung and Chapman To Man Jat both expressed their support. Pang Ho Cheung two nights ago tried to change her mind online. "Why mind a mirage? The body is hard to come by. Why not ignore the snickers and the criticism, since we are just after momentary pleasure. Best of Luck." Yesterday after learning that DaDa retired for health reasons, Pang Ho Cheung wrote, "Nothing in life is more important than the pursuit of inner peace. Hong Kong film needs you, but it doesn't mean that you need to satisfy everyone's expectation. Keep being yourself, and live you life the way that you like. Always smile, you are the most beautiful when you smile." To Man Jat wrote online, "Everyone has the right to choose how they live their lives, you don't have to be starry and glittering. Yet when you retire from this circle, don't you just end up in another circle? The world has no job that has no pressure at all, only the mood that you decide. When you feel your problems are huge, the world may not even notice you. Chan Jing, you place a hold on your desire to retire from show business. If you change your mind, the lead actress of my movie at the end of the year will still be you. Good night! Have a good sleep!" To Man Jat said that he did not call DaDa. He said, "We are in the heat of the moment, I will wait until she cools down first. Did I feel DaDa's mood had problems? The more money city people make, the more stress they have. It's normal. Since DaDa and I started working together, I haven't felt that she had mood problems. At work she was very normal, very professional, whatever she was asked to do she was willing." He joked that DaDa might have kept everything inside for a long time and erupted all at once. Did he feel DaDa's retirement was regrettable? To Man Jat said, "She doesn't have to work in this business. This business is very tough to take. If you do you have to be tough. Everyone has their own ideas. I don't know why she has decided not to work anymore. I would support whatever decision she would make. If she quits, the movie at the end of the year will be recast." * (2013/08/10) DaDa Chan Jing yesterday originally was to attend the Wired Cafe one year anniversary, but two nights ago she suddenly announced her retirement online. Yesterday she even went "missing", as her friend Celia Kwok Wing Yi and Iris Chung Choi Hei took her place. Junior colleagues Mei Mei Tsang Sin Mei and Asa Kwan Lei Sa also came in support. Reportedly DaDa earlier was acting like a big shot at the film LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) production start ceremony, bullied company new comer Mika Siu, declined to be interviewed with her and thus led to the dispute. Yet none of those involved appeared to explain in person. Celia and Iris did not mind being "second choices". As for DaDa's claim that she had mood disorder and decided to retire, Iris said, "Lately I haven't been too happy either, did anyone see my facebook posting? Recently I broke up with my boyfriend, my heart is broken and I am very sad! Everyone more or less has city disorder. I have tried to leave home before." Celia at 13 already knew DaDa. She said, "I definitely would support her. I also sent her text messages to her. She replied and told me not to worry, she probably was fine. I don't think DaDa is irresponsible, maybe she has her reasons." She said that the most important was for DaDa to live happily. Mei Mei said that DaDa was no different normally. She only hoped her friend would be happy like she was before and looked forward to her friend's text message reply. * (2013/08/10) The now 24 year old DaDa Chan Jing before rising to fame once host an ATV horse racing program. Earlier because of her Jason's Fruit Shop beverage commercial and her proud figure, she joined the entertainment circle after gaining some recognition and was even crowned "Jason's Fruit Shop E Goddess". DaDa signed with Celia Sie Lim Chi to be a model and released a sexy photo book. She also walked the catwalk with her sexy image and performed in the film MICROSEX OFFICE (CHIU SING BANG GUNG SUT) and LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO). Last year with cultivation in the hands of Pang Ho Cheung and Chapman To Man Jat, DaDa became the lead actress in VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET). Her character Popping Candy left a deep impression with viewers and even earned her a Taiwan Golden Horse Award Best Supporting Actress nomination. Although she lost, she won the Best Supporting Actress award in this year's Hong Kong Film Award and proved that being sexy could also receive acting recognition. DaDa after winning the award received many film offers. Although they were mainly sexy, she did not resist them. She even expressed hope to win Best Actress in 5 years. Originally DaDa planned to make LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3), but she suddenly said that she had a mood disorder. The doctor suggested for her to leave show business, and in the short run she has already turned away an estimated HK$5 million. * (2013/08/10) Tony Leung Chiu Wai went to the U.S. to promote his film THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) and participate in a Chevrolet event. Yesterday he and the caravan traveled on the US Highway 1 to enjoy the sunshine and the beach in Malibu. * (2013/08/09) Famous Mainland director Feng Xiaogang earlier was caught meeting with Emperor boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing in the Beijing Ritz Carlton Hotel. They chatted for several hours and left around 2AM. Reportedly Yeung Sau Sing and Feng Xiaoming met to discuss future collaborations. Emperor has always wanted Feng Xiaogang to join. After numerous persuasions and throwing money at him, Emperor finally tempted Feng Xiaogang with a 300 million yuan RMB, ten year contract. After joining h would receive another 10 million per film and 10% bonus. Supposedly the offer was too attractive and Huayi could not keep him. After making the comedy PERSONAL TAILOR, Feng Xiaogang would still owe Huayi one film. Their contract will end next year. Originally Peter Lam Kin Ngok's company Media Asia wanted him to join as well, but its offer was not as rich as Emperor's. After Chen Kuo-Fu left Huayi, its creative and production departments already have been shaken up. If Feng Xiaogang left as well, the impact would be even larger. Thus in recent years Huayi kept cultivating new directors, as it did not want to rely on one or two directors to maintain the company's profit. * (2013/08/09) Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo) recently has been working on the John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) new film THE CROSSING (TAI PING LUN) in the Mainland, but lately a heat wave affected many place in China. On the day of the shoot Gum Sing Mo toughed out the heat, followed Ng Yu Sum's direction and often took his mark for rehearsal. Although Gum Sing Mo is already an international star, privately he remained very friendly. He even opened his own car door. No wonder he received the crew's praises. * (2013/08/09) Mainland actor Yu Kang started as a stunt man. 10 years ago he met "the Strongest in the Universe" Donnie Yen Chi Tan and has worked with him since then. Yu Kang over the years received many opportunities from Chi Tan, the most memorable of which was the film WU XIA. He said, "That time we fought for a full week. On the first day Brother Tan already kept telling to fight, on the next day my hand was so swollen that I couldn't make a tight fist. On the third day I told Brother Tan I couldn't go on. I almost died laughing from Brother Tan's answer. Actually when he went home and used the computer, he couldn't even type." Yu Kang praised Chi Tan as a natural born martial art star, the most amazing part was he knew how to keep innovating and picking up what others abandoned. Although working with Chi Tan on movies was very stressful, Yu Kang said that later h would feel it was a lot of fun and even a sense of achievement. "Brother Tan can't be surpassed, he can only be a goal to work toward." * (2013/08/09) Film industry new comer Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling has two film releases in a row, one is about ghosts and one sells hot blood. They are very challenging to her acting abilities! In the dance film THE WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI) she still has her first lead. It was test screened in March and later participated in film festivals around the world. Cherry's acting and dancing received compliments from fans everywhere, but she said that early in the shoot she once lacked confidence. "During the shoot I haven't danced in awhile, the physical demand was enormous. I didn't get to rest for a week and was aching all over. I was down, but everyone was very close. So we definitely had to finish this dream!" In her supernatural film TALES FROM THE DARK (MAI LEI YEH) she worked with Best Actor Tony Leung Ka Fai and Kelly Chen Wai Lam and benefited alot. She praised the two elders for being very friendly. Ka fai even took care of her like a kind father. * (2013/08/09) With her 35C bust "Inch Mouth Barbie" Ha Wai Yu had both an impression mouth and figure. Recently she became a "Chin Girl" as she participated in Wilson Chin Kwok Wai's new film LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3). Barbie admitted that she had to "go all out". "This time I have the rare chance to make a movie for Wilson, I will go all out. I will have no bottom line, going commando and topless are all OK, but the film standard would not reach nudity! In the script for now I will have sex scenes with male co-stars, I am really looking forward to it!" She also joked that she played a convincing bitch. "In the film I am always talking bad about others, what a bitch! However I have to clarify, although in real life everyone thinks I am very inch mouthed, actually I just have a poorer ability to express myself. In addition I don't like to talk bad about anyone, haha!" * (2013/08/09) Earlier BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik and Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling played the leads in the film THE WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI). Speaking of the film, BabyJohn teaches Cherry Tai Chi and develops a romance with her. In real life would BabyJohn try to get girls using acting instruction as an excuse? He awkwardly said, "Absolutely not! Actually I teach children how to act, I absolutely wouldn't chase students from a girl chasing angle!" They also made many commercials that everyone knew. Cherry who was not attracted to BabyJohn even boasted that she had more acting experience than he did. "The most memorable was my first commercial shoot, at the time I was in Form 3, had long hair and was chubby. Because the commercial was about preventing cheating during a test, the guy next to me snuck a peek at my test. Then I wrote smaller and smaller, finally I took out a very thin pen out......" Later, Cherry went automatic as she recited the lines from her commercial without missing one word! Cherry said, "I had a lot of words to recite for the commercial itself, at the time the director worried that the commercial would run over. Yet because I spoke too fast, the commercial ended too soon!" BabyJohn looked mild mannered but in commercials he often played some odd characters. The most memorable was an otaku in a tissue commercial. He even danced with tissue! In the commercial, BabyJohn played an otaku convincingly, but he stressed again that he was not an otaku. "At the time the director told me to dance with the tissue and asked me to improvise something for him! I don't mind the drastic differences with the characters that I play, because as an actor I want variety. However I stress that I am not an otaku!" * (2013/08/09) Claiming to be a "washboard", singer Ava Yu Kiu earlier attended her film LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3)'s production start ceremony. Yu Kiu successfully pushed up a "career line". She revealed that it was the result of her hard work on breast enhancement. "I really was flat as a washboard before. Later I worked hard on breast enhancement and wore enhancement underwear just so I could keep up." In the film Yu Kiu would have many bed scenes with Jason Chan Pak Yu. She said that because they were too close of friends, she suspected that she did not open her eyes at all throughout the shoot. "Because I don't want to see him." Yu Kiu even had a passionate bed scene with a group of Korean hunks. The scene had no dialogue and conceivably would be rather extreme. She said, "When we were at a script reading, I discovered that actually it was an all action scene." * (2013/08/09) The 13th Chinese Film Media Asia yesterday announced it nominations. Mini Yang Mi, Angelababy, Kitty Zhang Yuqi, Kwai Lun-Mei and Amber Kuo would all vie for the Best Eye Catching Actress, an award that viewers will vote for. * (2013/08/09) DaDa Chan Jing who with the film VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress in April last night around 10PM suddenly announced her retirement online due to her family, emotional, health and other problems. DaDa wrote, "Life is very tiring, gossip is a fearful thing. Pressure and pain always come together. Due to family, emotional, health and romantic problems I made this decision......I have to retire from on screen acting job and return to my original life. I am just an ordinary person, let me live an ordinary life. Thank you everyone for your support along the way. I am grateful." DaDa earlier in the afternoon already hinted online that she was disillusioned. Many fans urged her to be resilient. Seemingly after a day of consideration, DaDa decided to leave her on screen work and made this announcement. When DaDa two days ago attended the LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) press conference she was accused of acting like a big shot. When she was interviewed with junior colleagues Celia Kwok and Mika Siu she thought there were too many of them and asked to be interviewed with Celia first. She seemed to be boycotting Mika. Some in the media said that DaDa gained a lot of weight. She revealed that she gained 8 pounds perhaps due to pressure. DaDa's LAN KWAI FONG 3 co-star Ava Yu Kiu said that she was surprised to see DaDa's retirement announcement. She said online that she hoped DaDa's account was hacked and it was a joked, as she still looked forward to working with her this time! DaDa's management company also learned about this from the internet. A worker said that so far the company has not been able to contact DaDa, as it hoped to get an understanding and express concern about what happened. DaDa recently worked on the Wilson Chin Kwok Wai directed new film LAN KWAI FONG 3. Chin Kwok Wai said, "I haven't received any notice that said she would not make the movie. Normally when I saw her she didn't look any different. I believed she was just complaining. She has such a great future, earlier at the Hong Kong Film Award she still said that she would work harder." * (2013/08/09) The Chow Yun Fat, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Chapman To Man Jat starred Lunar New Year Film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH SING FUNG WON) is heating up in production. Although Fat Gor has not appeared yet, Ting Fung, To Man Jat, Natalie Meng Yao and other actors have been working nonstop. Two nights ago they shot a fight scene in a Ngau Tau Kok alley. Ting Fung had to use a folding chair to hit Ricky Wong Chun Tong in the back of the head. Director Wong Jing and producer Andrew Lau Wai Keung personally supervised. Ting Fung was very professional. When he arrived at the set he immediately focused on the production, he used the folding chair to test the mark on his head. Then he sat on the chair and enjoyed a cigar. Ting Fung, Lau Wai Keung, To Man Jat and others chatted and laughed. Seemingly his rumor with Zhou Xun has not affected him. The atmosphere on the set was also very light. In a "bloody" makeup, Meng Yao revealed that in this scene she and To Man Jat were collecting debts. In the film she did not need voice dubbing, but she admitted that Cantonese was very hard to speak. No matter how she practiced her pronunciation was inaccurate. Will she have any scene with Chow Yun Fat? Meng Yao pouted and said, "No! I am so disappointed! I am truly too disappointed! however I am already very happy to have a scene with Ting Fung and To Man Jat." Meng Yao said that earlier dyes ruined her HK$1,000 personal bra. She joked, "Next time I will wear a cheaper one, that one is ruined. Ask Wong Jing to cover it? Let me talk to him." Meng Yao was very happy that this time she did not have any sexy performance. "I can demonstrate my abilities, the smartest part is I learned some foul language. Normally I am very mild mannered, I don't use foul language." * (2013/08/09) Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhou Xun are rumored to be secretly in love for two years. Zhou Xun is also rumored to hook up with Nicholas Tse Ting Fung for revenge on Wai Jai. With Carina Lau Ka Ling's "ownership announcement" online, the complicated relationships between Best Actors and Best Actresses make great drama. Yesterday one of the leads Leung Chiu Wai appeared. He promoted his film THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) in the U.S. and participated in a Chevrolet event. Wai Jai, his assistant, his hairstylist and others in his entourage marched into Beverly Hills. They had tea and chatted at a cafe and even took photos with his photo. He was so relaxed that the Zhou Xun rumor did not seem to have any effect on him. During the Chevrolet event, Wai Jai traveled on U.S. Highway 1 with a caravan to Malibu beach. Lau Ka Ling yesterday did not update her Weibo. Two days ago she wrote in the morning, "Any place can be a starting point, any time can be a start. Good morning! As long as you act, no time is too late." The Mainland media speculated the Zhou Xun and Leung Chiu Wai rumors of secret romance over two years while working on THE GREAT MAGICIAN (DAI MOR SHOOK SI) and THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH) until it was white hot. Some felt that Ka Ling's earlier post of "Being jealous of others would not gain you any advantage and could not possibly reduce others' achievement." was a ownership announcement. An online message said "This Empress' aura can kill the Painted Skin little fox in seconds." (Lau Ka Ling played Wu Zetian while Zhou Xun played the fox demon). Some were also jealous of Wai Jai, "Why is it that when I see other male stars cheat I would feel they are garbage, but with Leung Chiu Wai's rumor with (Maggie) Cheung Man Yuk, Dong Jie and Zhou Xun I feel they are true love?" Someone also crowned Wai Jai "invisible casanova". In addition, Wai Jai and director Wong Kar Wai earlier on Helen To Yu Fung's program talked about THE GRANDMASTERS. Wai Jai said that he already forgot the reason he made this film, he only thought that martial art film would be fun. He also said that he was already a Bruce Lee fan when he was little. Wong Kar Wai said that for his first biographical film adaptation, he spent years on the research and interviewed people who have come in contact with Ip Man for inspiration. * (2013/08/08) The Pang Ho Cheung directed new film MAN JU SA WA (RED SPIDER LILY) is heating up in production. Earlier he ordered a 20 meter long prop whale and let people expose it for him. Two days ago around 3PM, the director led the team to work in the Tsuen Wan Chinese Permanent Cemetery. In the scene Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, her on screen husband Eric Tsang Chi Wai, her on screen father Ng Man Tat and Carrie Ng Ka Lai were all present. The film also starred Louis Koo Tin Lok and Gigi Leung Wing Kei, but two days ago two doubles took their place. According to the crew, before and after shooting in dark places like cemeteries they would pray for peace. The scene had to be completed two days ago, because yesterday was already Liqiu. In other words the Lunar July Ghost Festival has begun. Thus erring on the safe side was better. Two days ago the shoot was tough. Because the sun was blazing and without a roof over the actors' heads, all the actors after awhile were drenched. As soon as they were out of the shoot, Chin Wa and Ng Ka Lai automatically looked for shades. Ng Man Tat and Chi Wai on the other hand did not mind being out in th sun as they stood to the side and chatted. Director Pang Ho Cheung played with extra child actor. Actually two days ago the scene was very simple, Ng Man Tat took Chin Wa and her husband to the cemetery. Th shoot took several hours. * (2013/08/08) Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Chapman To Man Jat and Natalie Meng Yao two nights ago worked on their new film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH SING FUNG WON) in a restaurant. In the story as Ting Fung was dining, suddenly a taxi ran into the restaurant. Everyone scattered as smoke arose. During the shoot, Ting Fung was often gesturing in the restaurant and discussed the marks with director Wong Jing and producer Andrew Lau Wai Keung. After the scene, as Ting Fung returned to the trailer several dozen onlookers screamed his name. Ting Fung politely waved to them. * (2013/08/08) Actor Lui Ming (originally named Chin Kwok Bun) who starred in Cantonese films TEN BROTHERS (SUP HING DAI) and THE CHAIR (GUM SAN DAI SIU) passed away on July 16 due to complications from pneumonia at the age of 89. Yesterday services began at the Universal Funeral Parlor. Once a film company boss, Lui Ming made many films like CALL GIRL 92 (92 YING JIU NUI LONG) and was familiar with the likes of Wu Fung, Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Patrick Tse Yin. * (2013/08/08) Aaron Kwok Fu Sing yesterday attended an UNICEF charity run 2013 press conference. When asked about Christine Kuo failing to "invade Sing" because she was too fat and moving back to her old home, Sing Sing was already shaking his head before he finished hearing the question. He stressed that he was single and would no longer reply to rumors. Will he respond when he will be dating? He said, "Still no, I am very down, very helpless!" Speaking of rumors of Anna Kay and her mother moving into his home and him recommending Anna Kay to perform in CHUEN MAN MUK GIK, Sing Sing said, "No comment, everyone can say whatever they want and write whatever they want." Sing Sing did not catch his good friend Julian Cheung Chi Lam's love scene with Fala Chen in TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES 2. He joked that he wanted him to perform it live once. When he heard the description from reporters, Sing Sing said that he wanted to see it again. "Cheung Chi Lam should have it in his collection, but my scenes with Lam Hei Lui (Kelly Lin) in the film AFTER THIS OUR EXILE (FU JI) and with Zhang Ziyi in LOVE FOR LIFE (JUI OI) were decent too!" Were they very memorable for me? Sing Sing said that the most important part of intimate scene was it was logical. Since the actors had to go all out, being single like him would be better. * (2013/08/08) Nick Cheung Ka Fai two nights ago invited friends in the business to his film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN)'s advanced screening. Sandra Ng Kwan Yu had nothing but praise for Ka Fai's physique and stated that he has possessed her to train for a female version of UNBEATABLE. He also triggered retired star Chingmy Yau Suk Ching's acting bug, which made Ka Fai very pleased that his performance was able to release positive energy. Cheung Ka Fai worked out like crazy to perform UNBEATABLE and became the talk of the town. Two nights ago the film held an advanced screening. Friends like Yau Suk Ching and her husband Shum Ka Wai, Alex To Tak Wai and his wife, Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To) and his girlfriend Fan Keung, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Ng Kwan Yu, Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Anna Ueyama and her daughter all showed their support. Kwan Yu felt that Ka Fai's finger dislocation for the performance was too selfless but praised his great physique. When asked to compare with popular series TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES 2's pilot Cool Demon Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Kwan Yu coldly said, "He is handsome, but is no comparison." Speaking of Ka Fai, Kwan Yu got excited again. "He risks his life every time. When he made NIGHTFALL (DAI JUI BO) he was already very slim from training, people thought he was ill. Actually I knew that he was training for this film and witnessed his suffering. I like him this thin, I would rather look as thin as sick then look fat. I trained a year to get into shape but haven't been successful. I want to challenge myself and make a female version UNBEATABLE. She joked, "If someone asks me, I would be willing! Actors want to make good movies, have good box office, viewers and directors all like hard working people. My husband (Peter) Chan Ho Sun has been very encouraging. He too works very hard on the bicycle." The retired Dau Dau heard Ka Fai and child star Crystal Lee with this film won the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival Best Actor and Best Actress. After the screening she even agreed that their acting was great. Has her acting bug been tempted? Dau Dau said, "Even if it has I would leave it inside, I won't act. Now I am too busy, my younger daughter is not three yet. (Will you have another child?) No, it's very exhausting." Speaking of her older daughter Shum Yuet's resemblance to her, Dau Dau said, "It's not set yet. She is 11 or 12, she will still change." She never thought about whether to let her older daughter to join the business, but her old daughter loved dancing. Ka Fai finally completed the impossible mission and looked forward to sharing it with everyone very much. After the film release he will sneak into cinemas to check out the reaction. He believed that this film will be a threat and be popular with viewers, but box office prediction will be hard. Speaking of Kwan Yu wanting to make a female version of UNBEATABLE, he pointed out that Kwan Yu's trained figure surprised him. "I thought she just paid to think she had results, after I finished the film she was still training and challenging herself." He was very happy to hear that the film was inspirational, felt that he has contributed to the society and released positive energy. Former police sergeant Lui Chi Keung committed suicide with his service weapon at the Shun Lee Disciplined Services Quarter. Reportedly he was Ka Fai's police academy classmate. Ka Fai said, "I have lost contact with police academy classmates and officers, but the police officer number was very familiar. I definitely knew him. It's very regrettable to hear this news." Ka Fai said that in recent years he ran into some former colleagues who have been promoted when the police department interviewed him. They faced a lot of pressure as well. Everyone's tolerance and adaptability to control pressure were different. He asked everyone to learn to control pressure and emotions. In life responsibility could not be avoided. Speaking of his directing debut MENG LAN SUN GUNG being accused of shooting the Elisa Lam case first, Ka Fai said that the case was very shocking but he had no intention to put it in the film. Only for his sister's scene in the film, the screen writer suggested adding a little gimmick. He thought it was viable and it was not a deliberate plan. He also clarified, "It is something that is very heart breaking, I don't want everyone to misunderstand that I would offend the victims. The film isn't saying that Elisa Lam's CCTV video means she was possessed, it is just putting a design into the film. It has no intent to offend anyone." * (2013/08/08) The Wilson Chin Kwok Wai directed film LAN KWAI FONG 3 (HEI OI YEH PO 3) yesterday began production. Connie Man Hoi Ling and Barbie Liu (Ha Wai Yu) were no match for DaDa Chan Jing, who displayed her long missed 4 inch career line. With a blatant scar under her arm, Barbie explained that it was left from a recent blood clot removal surgery near the heart. She said, "I have had myocarditis for several years. In the past 3 or 4 months I didn't feel well. Upon diagnosis we found stasis near the heart. I am afraid that the scar won't fade, hopefully I will have a laser scar removal sponsorship." DaDa earlier taped SUPR TRIO MAXIMUS. While playing a game with Alex Fong Lik Sun, Siu Fong was suspected of touching her rear. DaDa clarified for Siu Fong that he did not touch her. DaDa also revealed that she will have a love scene in the water with a Korean actor. Ava Yu Kiu pointed out that she was even more extreme, as many guys would gang up on her. Thus she said that she was very lucky. DaDa said, "In the end it will be very chaotic, but it won't be sickening." * (2013/08/08) In Zhang Ziyi and Wang Leehom's romantic comedy MY LUCKY STAR, she has many costume changes. The film company said that the unveiled costumes were just the tip of the iceberg. The Zhang Ziyi played Sophie will have even more explosive looks. [ BLAH OF THE WEEK ] Columns, Reviews, Interviews 1. APPLE DAILY, AUGUST 10 2013, ELECTRIC FILM ROAD NICK CHEUNG: MUSCLE BOUND INSPIRATIONAL BROTHER With his almost perfect physique, Nick Cheung Ka Fai after the photo of his chest, abdominal, triceps and other muscle bound body is released sent the city into a frenzy. Ka Fai in the film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) plays a fighter and trained a body full of muscles. In the eyes of others Ka Fai is after cheers, but actually he is enjoying his dream chasing process. After overcoming one obstacle after another, he is just like his character in the film. He wants to save some moments that are worth remembering in his life. On and off screen he encourages everyone to persevere ahead and create a different life journey for themselves. - CHEUNG CHUN MING UNBEATABLE Release Date: August 15 In order to play the Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed inspirational film UNBEATABLE, Cheung Ka Fai spends an entire year to train his body. He trains like a full time athlete everyday. He sleeps early, eats on a diet, and trains 3 to 4 hours everyday, performs aerobic exercises and lifts weights until the shoot is finished. "A mission from Heaven to everyone is to first labor." Unfortunately after several weeks in the shoot, Ka Fai's finger is already broken from a kick. He says, "It just started production, later there will a big pile of training, fighting and fighting scenes, how do I keep going? At the time I was in the middle of getting more cut. Because with less work out the lines were blurrier and with more the lines were more defined. I wouldn't allow myself to stop for a day or two, I was very worried that as soon as I stopped all the work done would have gone to waste. When I trained I could lift twice my body weight. Later pain killer was no longer effective, the doctor had to give my morphine to stop my pain." Training For Positive Energy Ka Fai reveals that his injury more or less impacts the action scene shoots, when his injured finger makes contact the pain goes straight to the heart. He says, "I was in so much pain that I was afraid, but I couldn't do anything. If I didn't take a positive approach, my performance quality would be impacted. Since I have already given, I could slack off even less. I had to keep my determination." He says that he does not blame anyone for his broken finger, not even the person who breaks his finger. Because he understands this is an accident. Instead after this experience, both the broken finger and the training process coordinate with UNBEATABLE's inspirational meaning. After Ka Fai's muscle photo is releases, the city goes wild. However he does not feel anything. "I built this body not to shock people, but Cheung Ka Fai actually goes from a skinny base to like this. Everyone calls me 'Inspirational Brother'. The determination and perseverance are vrey strong. Everyone can do it. It reminds everyone to have positive energy and serves as an encouragement. Indirectly I seem to have contributed a little something to the society. Everyone discusses the inspirational story, which instead makes me happy; more so than people being wowed with my body." Ka Fai admits that this mission is the most difficult in history, but his attitude is if you are doing to do it do it well. If he decides to do it, he would give his greatest effort so he can answer to himself. No One Understands The Pain About the pain of the preparation of shooting UNBEATABLE, Ka Fai admits no matter how he tells it no one would understand. Only he knows how painful it is. His film co-star Eddie Peng Yu-Yen also plays a fighter like Ka Fai and also has to train. Ka Fai says, "When I train with Eddie, we support, understand and encourage each other. At least on the painful road I have his support. If I have to do it alone like in the film, it would be very lonely, very difficult, no one would understand. People would not feel and understand the pain that you do, but Eddie would. The difficulty of the shoot, the pain of the death, the sacrifice that has to be made, you do not want to tell others. Telling them would be meaningless anyway, they cannot help. In addition everyon have their own responsibilities." Perfect Muscle Display This Time Only Cheung Ka Fai has a body full of perfect muscles, which conceivably many men dream to have. Yet Ka Fai states there will be no next time! He says, "UNBEATABLE's condition has already become history for me. I am not too interestd in bodybuilding, it is truly tough and takes up too much valuble time that I can't waste. The memory alone is enough for me, I don't plan to stay in this shape. I don't want to deliberately maintain the muscle man image. Now I have already returned to the original me, without any curve and resuming a normal life." Ka Fai pointed out that in his normal life he also does not eat around 7PM. After dinning he would not drink or eat until bed time. He also does not have junk food in order to maintain his slim figure. Ka Fai jokes, "I see online friends say that they want to become Cheung Ka Fai, it's not about if they can or not. However it is impossible to not work everyday, sleep early, train everyday. You are so tired that you cannot possibly work, how can you afford such a training process. It's not that you can't. Everyone in society have to make a living, they have no reason to drop everything for the body. Even if Jesus will be the director next time, and Buddha will be the producer, I won't do it again even if they ask. I really can't do it. I don't want to be Stallone, I just want to act. I am following my own mission, I don't want to think about the image development." Looking Forward to the Hong Kong Audience Response Before UNBEATABLE is released it already won the Shanghai International Film Festival Best Actor and Best Picture. Ka Fai says that instead he looks forward to the Hong Kong audience response the most and would not think too much about an award. He says, "I would be very happy if I get an award, which would be a huge encouragement for me. If not I wouldn't be very disappointed, without it I still have to work. I will just try again next year." In recent years Ka Fai specifically picks dramatic films. He admits that he has turned down some small projects and romantic films. "I like movies with heavy dramatic flavor, let me burn out first. Drama is my personal preference, I still haven't gotten tired of it yet." In addition, Cheung Ka Fai yesterday promoted the film UNBEATABLE in Mongkok with director Dante Lam Chiu Yin and child actress Crystal Lee Hing Hau. Ka Fai said, "I haven't been in Mongkok in a long time, so long that I don't remember how long." Many who have seen the premiere and test screenings praised Ka Fai's outstanding acting, which was better than his sevn Best Actor award winning BEAST STALKER (JING YUN). He said, "Earlier I won an award, I hope it will be able to surpass BEAST STALKER." Synopsis: Down And Out Boxer Returns to The Ring Th film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) is about Hong Kong champion fighter Ching Fai is forced into retirement due to crime and ends up becoming a debt ridden and down middle aged man. He by chance meets Si Chai, who loses everything due to his father's business failure. He wants to win a fighting championship to inspire his bankrupted father. Ching Fai helps him and offers to be his coach. On the other hand, Ching Fai also hopes to return to the ring, truly fight a match, regain his value in life and win back a little dignity. 2. MING PAO DAILY, AUGUST 10 2013, FILM WORDS THE WAY WE DANCE IS LIVELY WITH TAI CHI FUN The Adam Wong Sau Ping directed THE WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI) has energy galore. Its premiere at the Hong Kong International Film Festival received good reviews. Now it is released in the summer and even receives enthusiastic support from the Hong Kong film industry and film critics. Because this is a small budget production without big stars, no big opening can be expected. Its surprise break out will rely on word of mouth. The most key is it needs young viewer support. Actually this is a Hong Kong youth comedy that deserves the new Hong Kong generations' support. THE WAY WE DANCE Captures Lively Sense Of Motion A variety of dance films about learning to dance, practicing dancing and dance competitions has been made not just overseas but among Chinese films as well. Andy Lau Tak Wa and Aaron Kwok Fu Sing both have starred in some. In recent years Hong Kong and the Mainland co-produced KUNG FU HIP HOP (JING MO MOON) and JUMP! (TIU CHOOK HUI). As for Hong Kong hip hop street dance film, Herman Yau Lai To directed GIVE THEM A CHANCE (CUP TA MOON YUT GOR GEI WUI) as early as ten years ago. Its response however was lukewarm. Honestly, THE WAY WE DANCE's subject is not considered fresh and even a little outdated. Fortunately it indeed captures very lively sense of motion. The most unique is its university student leads, in addition it is a very fun romantic comedy. Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling plays a Kowloon City tofu shop daughter who likes to dance. She gets accepted into the Hong Kong University, jumps back and forth between a hip hop dance crew and a Tai Chi group, and leads to dance and romantic struggles. The story is nonsensical. The most interesting is the strange Tai Chi guy BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik, who turns the Chinese opera from outdated to wonderful, cooks up a great girl chasing idea and is loyal. Ngan Cheuk Ling is very lively and mischievous, Choi Hong Yik is mild mannered and humorous. They truly are a good half foreign half Chinese pairing. This film also has many dance experts, the invincible Rooftoppers look like dominating villains. Actually they are the real deal and are very excellent. The final dance contest is particularly exciting. One of the dancers is especially surprising and wins the applause of the audience. In comparison to similar foreign films, THE WAY WE DANCE surpasses them. It is even better than th Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) kung fu musical THE ROOFTOP. (Three out of five stars) Speaking of which, university student films are growing. This summer the biggest hit in Hong Kong is the U.S. animation MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, which has already reached HK$75 million. Actually MONSTERS UNIVERSITY is very childish, does not resemble an university but fortunately attracts the family audience. THE WAY WE DANCE's university students also do not resemble university students, but undoubtedly it is a youth film to be happy about. Hopefully Hong Kong's foreign worshipping film viewers will pay attention to Hong Kong new blood. I also hope that from now on Hong Kong film can truly capture university quality, like the Indian musical 3 IDIOTS that has both education and brains. Mainland hits AMERICAN DREAMS IN CHINA and SO YOUNG also have real university feel, but TINY TIMES is too nouveau riche style superficial. TALES FROM THE DARK 2 Is Not Rich As Its Predecessor This week's other Hong Kong film TALES FROM THE DARK 2 (KEI WAN YEH) like its predecessor consists of three modern ghost stories. The Gordon Chan Ka Seung directed PILLOW (JUM YIU) has an intricate middle class tone. As a couple fights, murder and human ghost bed scene ensures. Fala Chan performs well, Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Joman Chiang are also decent. Lawrence Lau Kwok Cheung's HIDE AND SEEK (MAI CHONG) depicts young people who return to an abandoned elementary school for adventure and play a ghost catcher game that becomes all too real, thus cooking up a typical youth horror film. Teddy Robin Kwan directs and stars in BLACK UMBRELLA (HAK JEH), in which an old man runs into a Northern lady and has category blood and flesh gimmicks. All the segments have decent directing and acting, but their stories are rather smile and end up dragging on. The film is not as rich and intense as TALES FROM THE DARK (MAI LEI YEH). These three ghost stories should have even more twists and turns, for example Teddy Robin's night walk segment originally is the most intriguing and has a good film sense, but with the old ghost who has traveled on both sides for over 200 years, how can a pretty prostitute and a mean man make him reveal his original form? If even greater temptation and even stronger opponents would have been arranged, the battle would have been very exciting and fun. (Three out of five stars) - SHEK KEI 3. APPLE DAILY, AUGUST 9 2013, EPISODE 5, TALK 24 CHAPMAN TO, PANG HO CHEUNG PARODY SPIRIT SAVES HONG KONG FILM Pang Ho Cheung and Chapman To Man Jat feel that for Cantonese Hong Kong film will one day be revived, aside from native support the Guangdong province residents also serve a great purpose. Ah Jat said that many Guangdong residents and Hong Kongers are like siblings because "Guangdong people grew up watching TVB, he is very close to us", sometimes it may not be necessary to lump everyone together. Fat Lai brings up the parody theory, feeling that it is the only weapon that can rival Hollywood. Making a name for themselves with ghetto products, Pang Ho Cheung and Ah Jat of course cannot agree more. TALK 24 airs every Thursday night at 11PM, and can be viewed afterward on http://bit.ly/appletalk24. Stephen Chow's True Nature? In recent years, seemingly directors and actors who have worked with Stephen Chow Sing Chi coincidentally exposed a variety of his hard to take flaws, but Fat Lai for whom business is business speaks on behalf of Chow Sing Chi. He says, "Many people have very strong opinions about him. Would it be that show business originally isn't a very real business? As he is just true to his nature of being direct and wouldn't lie to you, many people just can't take him?" Ah Jat responds, do you feel that he is very true to his nature? He says, "I am going to quote Chua-san, if it works you have a way, if it doesn't you are a X jerk! It's not his first time either, he does it again and again. You know fully well, those who are willing get hooked! Do you see the two of us work with him?" Ah Jat immediately adds, "The dessert is pretty nice!" He pretends to change the subject. Great, let's talk about ghetto! After teaching Wong Kar Wai how to make a movie, Fat Lai again displays his film commercialization theory. Do you feel parody productions are viable? He says, "I feel there is one thing good about ghetto, it's the spirit of ghetto. In other words if Hong Kongers want to make a movie, you can't say because I have a six story tall studio or a lot of new equipment now, suddenly my filmmaking spirit changes. I feel you can use that ghetto spirit to make a movie." With this idea, Ah Jat who started with ghetto productions cannot agree. He says, "Ghetto may be very bad, but may be very good. Why not? If you X lose it all the wager is a few million, which you wouldn't die from! You feel this is the only advantage of being in Hong Kong, because evn if you have a system your capital can't possibly be compare with Hollywood's. Then why not be ghetto?" At the same time Fat Lai again demonstrates his outsider power, feeling that technology while lowering cost also predicts a day when Hong Kong films revive. Fat Lai says, "Guangdong has a very large market too." The Box Office Relies on Guangdong Comrades This sentence immediately seems to have possessed Ah Jat and Pang Ho Cheung. Ah Jat says, "Actually Guangdong people are very close to us. For example when we say something online, many online would say are you Hong Kongers more special? Many (Guangdong) people would then appear to help, will you hustlers go away, barking like that! Guangdong people grew up watching TVB, they are very close to us." Pang Ho Cheung even states that VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) and SDU SEXUAL DUTIES UNIT (FEI FU CHOOK JING)'s box office often relies on the Guangdong province Individual Visit Scheme comrades, because they can relate to the comedy. Ah Jat adds, "Thus we want comedy because it is collective entertainment. Why do people want to take a ride down to watch it? He wants to experience the atmosphere at the cinema, laugh together. He feels that it is more fun that holding the laptop in the commode at home." Pang Ho Cheung feels that comedy is build on native culture. He says, "If your culture is too far away, often times you have no way of understanding it. Comedy on the other hand can reach very far away places." Ah Jat also agrees and even tests Fat Lai, "Do you know who Xiao Shenyang is?" When Fat Lai expresses that he does not, Ah Jat excitedly says, "That's it, Xiao Shenyang is the most popular comedy actor in China. In the Northeast, he performs Er ren zhuan in Shenyang. In other words those talk shows. Zhao Benshan invests and makes several billion a year. His television series and films are very popular. Yet in the South, no one understands what he is saying. On the other hand, if you go to the Northeast and asks who is To Man Jat, no one knows." However Chua Lam mentions that counterfeit is still a tumor to the film industry. He sets the tone. "If there is not piracy and everyone goes to the movies, they would make a lot of money. For film to be saved, piracy has to be eradiated." Having said that he wants to play a mobster, Fat Lai again suggests his mob theory. He says, "The piracy network is a mob network, those kids won't take off when they see cops. You feel those are very organizations, actually it is a very solid and very strong organization." Pang Ho Cheung reveals that when he made a movie in the past, the mob approached and wanted to buy the copy to release videos. He says, "They say sell it to me! They made an offer, which is several hundred thousand. However I felt why would I give the stuff to you for several hundred thousand? They said that if you don't give it to them, they would still have it two weeks later. Then I felt, why don't you wait two more weeks. I would rather it doesn't exist in these two weeks." Making RMB Is Like Eating Crap: Eat It If You Can Not Making RMB Is a Well Deserved Death From counterfeit the subject is politically incorrectly dragged to national quality. First Chua Lam asks what the counterfeit business in the U.S. is not as thriving as the Mainland's. Fat Lai chimes in, "U.S. people quality is higher firstly, secondly it doesn't have as much corruption, thirdly the restriction is not as great." Ah Jat goes further and believes it is a conceptual issue. "I see many people online, since your movie will be released soon let me download your movie to support you. They don't feel this is something wrong, this is exactly China. On the internet they say you truly let success go to your head To Man Jat, I only download your movie because I respect you. If I don't I wouldn't even bother downloading it." Director Pang adds, "They even ask, 'So poor people like us don't have the right to watch movies?' I say, if you can't get married then would it be a big deal? Don't we have the right to release our sexual desire? Then you just grab someone to rape!" They are boiling mad! Fat Lai who rarely watches movies asks, "Does anyone use old movies, very popular ones, pick them up anew and rewrite their most basic plot. Would anyone do something like this?" Ah Jat cut in, "Wong Jing made over 400!" After chuckling he says, "Everyone is an adult, you don't have to be so fancy. These are Renmenbi, if you don't make them you deserve to die. If you can get it pass then you go ahead and make it, if you can't then come back and mak up. What is there to be afraid of? If you can swallow it then eat it, some people would even eat crap, some people eat it since they can swallow it. If you don't then leave." Chua Lam: VULGARIA Is A Tragedy To the "Vulgar Duo" of Pang Cheung and To Man Jat, Fat Lai certainly says, "When you make movies in Hong Kong, you invest your heart. You have to be rather mature to be able to." The duo immediately keeps shaking their heads in objection. Director Pang adds, "No, Mr. Lai, let me talk you, we have to be not so mature. If I am more mature, I would think about making several billions and speculate property." Ah Jat's face turns dark right away. "If your comment just now was said with our wives next to us, they would say, 'Listen to what people say!' We are mentally deficient kids, just take a look at us and you know we are mentally deficient. If we are a little smarter, now I am just driving a Toyota. I even live in Yuen Long you know?" Fat Lai says, "Yet you are having a lot of fun, many who drive Ferrari and Lamborghini aren't having as much fun as you." Director Pang says, "The person who is trying those cars isn't thinking that way!" Ah Jat also says, "It is the cost of being a show off." "Very Sharply Depressed" Chua Lam has seen it all. "You are showing off because you have succeeded, a year or two ago you wouldn't say that. I always say, if you try your chance of success is 50/50, if you don't your chance of success is zero. When you see a pretty girl walk by, you say something to her. At least she would have a cup of tea with you, or maybe you can get her into bed. If you don't, you let her go and she is gone. I have seen VULGARIA. You develop the subject of foul language into an entire film, which seems flimsy. This road is right, but you can go further. It isn't a theme." Ah Jat agrees, "Chua-san you are right, thus SDU SEX DUTIES UNIT has more than one subject. It also has brotherhood." Chua Lam nods, "I see that you are improving, that one isn't a comedy. It's sharply depressed." Ah Jat says, "Hey, being forced to commit a sex act with an animal, how can it not be a tragedy?" Director Pang looks back, "Actually it is because I was oppressed I went nuts. Thus I made something in 12 days, completely without a script. I just shot whatever I thought of." After learning about their experience, are you interested in watching VULGARIA again? Ah Jat Has No Confidant, Only Trusts Krystal Tin Ah Jat Lives With A Mask Fat Lai seems to be very interested in show business that is more fake than real. He asks Ah Jat if he has any confidant in the circle. Ah Jat says on a rare and sincere occasion, "Yes, my old lady. The ones other than the old lady are ordinary friends. In the end, you just believe your old lady is good." Does he think Pang Ho Cheung who is right next to him is invisible? Fat Lai continues to press, "Also, for example you are used to having a mask. When you get into character, do you have any way to remove the mask? Would you put the mask back on to act? Your acting then wouldn't be touching, as it lacks that realism." At this tim Ah Jat begins to retaliate, "Since you normally wears a lot of masks, why don't you be more sincere when you ar acting. At least it would bring you some benefits. Those of us who work in the real world can't be 100% real, because you aren't just protecting yourself but your family as well. However the world is so tough, even when you are acting you are not being yourself, you would look very X dumb! I always talk people, if someone is very heartbroken and cries, I would say, if you cry now you are very dumb, because when you cry in a movie you would make money." However Fat Lai feels that in the world today, you can be real with both real and fake. Perhaps the only actor who is fake when he is real or fake is the god class Chow Yun Fat. Vulgarity Came From The Mouth Of Mainland High Official Now that both Ah Jat and Director Pang are labeled as vulgar, would they put it down later? To Man Jat says, "Very early on we were already going to the Berlin Film Festival, when we started to make movies we were already internationally known. People who call us vulgar first have to be better than us. When we were dramatic (ISABELLA) you haven't succeeded yet, what make you qualify to call me vulgar?" Pang Ho Cheung says that he has never put on a vulgar label, the issue is everyone only remember the "X" mule story. As for the source of vulgarity, Ah Jat jokes that it comes from Mainland official's mouth. He says, "Do you know how the word vulgar come about? Vulgar is a Communist Party invention. When I made a movie called LA COMEDIE HUMAINE (YUN GAN HEI KET), after we were done we took it up there to apply for import. Then we caught wind that that the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television threw the remote control after watching. In one scene we played THE ASSEMBLY and made fun of them, like I lost my watch but said that the watch was made in China and would explode. The official after watching angrily said three words, "Vulgar, vulgar, vulgar" and the film was rejected. I have never heard of this word ever, after hearing it, the word was particularly crisp sounding to me. Oh actually it is called vulgar." Post Script: Vulgarity? Return To The Mortal World? Conventional! Once upon a time, Ah Jat was a vegetarian and full of Buddhist philosophy. Last April, the doctor diagnosed him with the extreme rare Miller Fisher Syndrome that could paralyze him and even suffocate him to death. Later after recovering he suddenly started eating meat again, feeling like he began to return to the mortal world. Yet Ah Jat said, the high profile vegetarianism was a type of pride as he felt that he was kinder than other people. Now he has let go of the persistence and no longer had the distraction. He might as well be human. The vulgar Ah Jat actually is not "returning to the vulgar (mortal world)" but being "following the vulgar (conventional)". People say, "Those who are clean are naturally clean, those who are dirty are naturally dirty". Ah Jat and Pang Ho Cheung are "those who are vulgar are naturally vulgar"; they call themselves vulgar. If you are not as successful as they are, you are not qualified to call them vulgar. 4. APPLE DAILY, AUGUST 8 2013, BIG PLANNING DANCE MIRACLE The fun part of Hong Kong film is it can be both elegant and common. You can play with foul language and sex like the Pang Ho Cheung produced SDU: SEX DUTIES UNIT (FEI FU CHOOK JING), or Shaolin kung fu plus song and dance. Taking one out of the three, new director Adam Wong Sau Ping chooses to make a rather alternative dance film THE WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI). The film opens today. Without first discussing th 5 years of planning it took from its creation to production, not only the persistence and hardship should be respected, but also the rare courage and support that Hong Kong film requires the most. - HO WING NING No matter what "Golden Scene" has to be thanked for distributing and investing in the film THE WAY WE DANCE. Although director Wong Sau Ping does not want to admit that dance movies are alternative, when he applied for the Film Development Fund many committee members had the same question, "Would a dance film work?" Honestly, as a part of the general public I am naturally resistant to dance films. The most song and dance films still remained with the Josephine Siao Fong Fong and Wu Fung's Cantonese film era. Yet after 105 minutes, THE WAY WE DANCE would change people's minds. To director Wong Sau Ping, to quote the film's promotional slogan, for film he truly can go very far. The film from script conception, casting auditions to the push and pull stalemate stage, took five years to complete. The daring part was that in the film he could not find an actor whom you would recognize, the most familiar look at the most was new comer Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling. Surviving the 5 Year Turbulence Of course the director does not want to admit that the subject is non mainstream. The inspiration was stumbled upon. Wong Sau Ping earlier said, "Once I was meeting a producer in the open space across from the Polytechnic Institute convenience store, I saw a group of people who were dancing on the streets. Actually they were members of the university street dance team. Only after chatting did I learn that this open space actually was very famous, a holy land of dance. Many street dancers would come here. The place to them wasn't a problem. After watching the creative inspiration flooded in. In less than 10 days the first story draft was already done." The life force of survivors is exactly the Hong Kong spirit, inspiring the director to write the script. From casting to the story, the film almost "was changed into" a co-production. Unwilling to compromise, the film in the end won the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. Then after numerous obstacles the film was finally completed 5 years later. Wong Sau Ping said, "Many actors auditioned several years ago, fortunately in the end we were able to find the most suitable initial choices." Although the director stressed again that dance film was a box office guarantee overseas, in Hong Kong the situation was not necessarily the same. He said, "When you make a movie in Hong Kong, you can make co-productions. If you want to make a Hong Kong film it can be about sex and girl chasing, VULGARIA and DUE WEST, subjects that viewers like to watch. Are we just going to play with these subjects? The lovable part about Hong Kong is that it can include different film genres." The Power of Film Affects Viewers Wong Sau Ping stressed that a mature film market could accept different genres of film. When THE was screened at first at the Hong Kong International Film Festival, it was responded to. He said, "I don't want to tell people how many people saw this film. In the comments from viewers after the screening, some said that after watching it he really wanted to pull the guitar from under the bed and play again; some said that they have already brought out a sketch pad and started drawing again. This is the power of film." Inspiration for Youth might not be box office guarantee; but when a film could be released and people were talking about it, to Wong Sau Ping it was already worth the price of admission. He said, "Of course it is a commercial film, only if you go would you feel it is worth the price of admission. Box office to me doesn't have much pressure. The previous film MAGIC BOY (MOR SHOOK NAM), you at most would say that I made a movie with a bad box office performance. It wasn't a rotten film. It's still good though, with MAGIC all problems that a director would encounter came at once. Thus this time I have all the experience." The director joked that in comparison to looking for investors for years, the production process became much more enjoyable. Extra: Dance Out Local Nostalgia In the utilitarian Hong Kong, a non mainstream independent film without violent and sexual packaging, star or big director is not a dream in the eyes of investors, but the "raving of a lunatic". THE WAY WE DANCE's main story is the alternative to the extreme street dance, which makes people think of the Hollywood genre film STEP UP's counterfeit Hong Kong version. It is more trouble than it is worth. Actually, years ago JUMP! (TIU CHOOK HUI) and KUNG FU HIP HOP (JING MO MOON) both packaged romantic films with dance years ago. Their box office and word of mouth were not outstanding. Instead of saying Wong Sau Ping was taking risks, you might as well say he was digging his own grave. All of the above were the writer's preconceived notions, just like the constantly criticized beyond recognition Film Development Fund would occasionally yield a good film. This time it raised over 2 million for the director to bring to life this 100% made in Hong Kong, youth inspirational film that officially flies the nativism banner. It also participated in the Udine Far East Film Festival, the Edinburgh Film Festival and Taipei Film Festival. Survival In Extreme Conditions What THE WAY WE DANCE wants to say is nothing more than a group of young people who love to dance. In order to pursue their dreams, they are willing to sacrifice their youth and struggle with opposing forces. It is the usual experience setback, tough training and success trilogy, a story that is so old that it has lost its teeth and some trick dance scenes. None of those will be examined in this article. What the writer wants to bring up is the deeper layer meaning behind the film -- as a dance, no move is impossible. The difference is just by a thread of belief. Only with belief can dreams be fulfilled, a dream that belongs to Hong Kongers but has not been fulfilled. The premise is, for this dream, how far are Hong Kongers willing to go? Does raising money to make this type of movie not just rely on a push of impulse, a thread of belief? Conceivably before Wong Sau Ping found Golden Scene to be his "sucker", he probably was bruised and battered from running into wall after wall! To quote the film, "His scars of youth aren't something to be joked either". With this belief, he was not only had the calling of a group of street dancing youth but also the sentiment for Hong Kong. He deeply believes that Hong Kong still has hope. It is not hard to find that he mixes in grass root cultural symbols like tofu shop, housing estate, factory into his film, reminding people the long missed old Hong Kong spirit of fighting for survival in extreme conditions and finding the true self in difficulties. That is the native value that cannot be found in STEP UP. Release Through Dance In today's Hong Kong, mediocre officials are in power, inferior grades in every class, factions plagues Hong Kong and people are boiling over with rage. Protesting on the streets are mostly hot blooded youth with aspiration. The film also has an inspiration, that rage in us can truly turn into motivation and be released through dance. Ultimately it is better than becoming a political tool. Perhaps only after watching too many rotten films would people be helplessly surprised with the sincerity of THE WAY WE DANCE. As COLD WAR (HONG JIN), VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET), TALES FROM THE DARK (MAI LEI YH) and other local films slowly rise their heads, a thread of belief in Hong Kong film is rekindled in the writer. Perhaps like Fa who injures her leg in the film, I too will be able to find my own sky. - FUNG KWOK HONG Who Am I: MAGIC BOY Wins Word Of Mouth Wong Sau Ping appears to be polite and well mannered, with an air of culture radiating from him. At age 38 he still seems young and fiery. Swearing to become a director in his youth, he studied art at the Chinese University and became exchange student of Iowa University in the U.S. Within that year, he used all of the school's camera equipment and editing facilities as well as sitting in on film lectures. After graduation, Wong Sau Ping tried his hands on a several independent short films. AH WAI AND MURPHY (AH WAI YU YUEN FONG) and GLOWING (CHAN YEUK FAN SING) both won awards. In 2004 he spent HK$250,000 on his first full length feature WHEN BECKHAM MEETS OWEN and won the Independent Spirit Award at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival. In 2007 he directed the full length feature MAGIC BOY. Starring Tsui Tin Yau and Kate Yeung Kei, the film has won many good reviews. Outstanding Dance: Hong Kong Musical Films Reflects Everyday Life Hong Kong films are like coffee shops, both are known for their variety. In the 60s Shaw musical films once caused a stir, unfortunately its momentum did not last. Pure dance films ultimately were unable to become the mainstream. Dance films aside from the formulaic elements of inspiration, youth, love and others could also reflect how people lived in the society at the time. LES BELLES (1961) Director: Doe Chin Stars: Linda Lin Dai, Peter Chen Ho Back then Shaw invested heavily as it was determined to start the new musical film wave. The entire film was shot in Eastman Color, the visuals were glamorous and included songs and dances of the past, the present, Chinese and foreign. Its presence was magnificent. The film brought the Hong Kong society to its modern globalization. MISMATCHED COUPLE (1985) Director: Yuen Wo Ping StarS: Donnie Yen Chi Tan, May Lo (Law Mei Mei) Breakdancing was popular at the time. Young people breakdanced all night at the Cultural Center, which was a symbol of rebellion. The film mixed breakdancing and kung fu, still a kid Yen Chi Tan breakdanced in the film convincingly. TEMPTATION OF DANCE (1986) Director: Peter Pau Tak Fun Stars: Chan Siu Mui, Cliff Lui Siu Mui Like the local version of the Hollywood film FLASH DANCE, Pau Tak Fun used a group of young new comers to dance out the energy that belonged to their era. "Dance" spots were coffee shops, roofs and factory buildings, with heavy grass root flavor. DANCING BULL (1990) Director: Allen Fong Ping Stars: Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Cora Miao Through Chau Sun and Miao Hin Yun's dancer stories the Tiannanmen Square Massacre was criticized, the film has heavy political color. Chau Sun saw the tank suppression video and decided to perform a street dance at Central to express their displeasure in Communist China's political rule with their bodies. PARA PARA SAKURA (2001) Director: Jingle ma Chor Sing Stars: Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Cecilia Chung Pak Chi Japan's Para Para group street danc was popular in Hong Kong for awhile. The film got dance king Sing Sing to play a dance teacher. Color blind, he gained his self confidence again through dancing and even won the hand of super hot rich girl Pak Chi. DANCE OF A DREAM (2001) Director: Andrew Lau Wai Keung Stars: Andy Lau Tak Wa, Anita Mui Yim Fong, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu The subject was very clear, whether ordinary people or socialites they all had their own dreams. Several star level actors performed in the film. Although it won word of mouth and box office, it was somewhat surreal. GIVE THEM A CHANCE (2003) Director: Herman Yau Lai To Stars: Andy Hui Chi On, Ellis Tang A film that was truly about street dance, it also was a story of growing up. The film deliberately created a beautiful world to satirize the absurdity of reality. This group of kids who struggled on the streets was exactly the group that was overlooked. JUMP! (2009) Director: Stephen Fung Tak Lun Stars: Kitty Zhang Yuqi, Leon Jay William Seeing the Hollywood street dance film, how could an agile Hong Kong person not follow suit? Unfortunately JUMP! purely packaged romance with dance, its story was beyond recognition. Zhang Yuqi had few dance steps and left people bored.
