The Yang Huishang she knew was someone who was determined, enthusiastic, focused and put an effort into her creations. No matter what she wanted to challenge she was able to accomplish. They earlier dined with their co-star Brigitte Lin (Lam Ching Ha) and felt like it was yesterday. Will they work with Ching Ha again? Sally joked, "We will work together on having dinner." Yang Huishan said that Sally was her best friend. Even though she was older than Sally, she took great care of her. Yang Huishang even asked Sally, "Don't you owe me?" She revealed that when they made COMMANDO, Sally accidentally shot her with a fake gun and thought she was dead. Sally said, "The fake gun misfired and shot her in the chest. Ching Ha and I were stunned and screamed, thinking that I killed her. Yet she had no expression at all and just kept on working." * (2013/03/27) Mavis Fan Hiu Huen yesterday along with May Day member Stone, Stephen Wong Ka Lok attended the Taiwan film WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW press conference. Siu Huen recently was nominated for a Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress with THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH). She said that she was very surprised to be nominated, actually she was not too confident. She thought about shopping for clothes but sitting all night without an award would be very embarrassing; she instead picked THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN)'s Elaine Jin (Kam Yin Ling) to win. Siu Huen in WILL played a couple with Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai). Due to handsome man Wong Ka Lok's interference into their marriage she exploded emotionally and hit Siu Chai like mad. Key actors of the film like Anthony Wong Chau Sun and Jordan Chan Siu Chun attended. Gillian Chung Yun Tung even brought along her kung fu enthusiast boyfriend Tyler Kwon. Chau Sun's on screen wife Anita Yuen Wing Yi and mistress Zhou Chuchu did not appear. Ah Gil said that because her boyfriend liked Chinese kung fu he came to support the film; Ah Gil also revealed that her boyfriend often boasted that he was more agile than her. However when she asked him to learn Latin dance together he declined. Ah Gil said, "I am afraid that dancing with someone I don't know would be very embarrassing, but he said that he wasn't interested and was very busy." Wong Chau Sun was linked in rumors with his on screen mistress Zhou Chuchu. He supposedly took great care of Chuchu and earlier dragged her to the Hong Kong International Film Festival opening ceremony red carpet. Chau Sun two nights ago joked about the rumor, "I don't have any mistress up there, I do down there. After I die I will. I have neither the money nor the time!" He was displeased that his family life was disturbed, saying that when his wife and son went out earlier the media flocked to them but did not identify themselves. Chau Sun said, "My wife ignored them. With so many swindlers now, I told my wife to call the cops next time." Chau Sun felt that taking care of co-stars was being professional for an actor. He asked, "Since Yuen Wing Yi wasn't there, was there any problem that I asked Chuchu to walk the red carpet together? You may the normal sound abnormal, making all actors like crooks and prostitutes and are all bad. Do every co-stars have to go to bed?" Chau Sun was accused of not inviting fellow Ip Man actors Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Chapman To Man Jat who was rumored to be in a dispute with him. He said that the boss was responsible for the guest list. Would he invite To Man Jat to watch the movie and learn about acting? Chau Sun said, "Everyone can watch, do you believe he doesn't know how to act?" With his ATV background Chau Sun was asked about the survey that more than 50% were those surveyed were upset with ATV. He admitted that he changed the channel and stopped watching ATV. He said, "It scared people to death, I have seen hosts and doctors on an interview. They spoke Mandarin like they were clowns, what for!" Siu Chun and Cherrie Ying Choi Yi's child will be born in July. He was very happy to be the father of a son and looked forward to taking him skiing. Now he had to take care of his wife so he would only choose to work in places that were closer to Hong Kong. It's great to be a kept man!" * (2013/03/26) The Stephen Chow Sing Chi directed film JOURNEY TO THE WEST: CONQUERING THE DEMONS (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN) repeatedly set records. Playing blind, Wa Jai before hand went to a training center and attended classes with vision impaired students for six weeks. He experienced life that depended on sound. Wa Jai said, "People who truly cannot see would not feel around with their hands like we do in acting. They would rely on sounds and feeling inside to sense the surrounding environment. They may be even better than those of us with sight." Wa Jai revealed that a blind woman at the training center challenged him to a 4 floor stair race. He said, "She was more familiar with the environment than I was, finally she was faster than me. I tried to practice cooking, cutting vegetables and pouring tea with a blind fold. Actually as long as I paid attention to the changes in sound, I would know how much hot water I spilled or whether the food in the wok was cooked yet. Everything had to be learned slowly. Otherwise would we stick our hands into the wok to test it?" * (2013/03/26) The Tang Wei and Mainland actor Wu Xiubo starred film FINDING MR. RIGHT will soon open. Tang Wei said that Wu Xiubo constantly sang during breaks, unfortunately he was completely off key. * (2013/03/26) The Johnnie To Kei Fung film DRUG WAR (DUK JIN) earlier shot in Tianjin for two months, as hunks Louis Koo Tin Lok, Sun Honglei and Eddie Cheung Siu Fai worked on the film. Sun Honglei played a cop who had to take drugs and hide drugs inside his body to go undercover for evidence against the drug lords; in one scene he had to release the drugs in the bathroom. The scene was difficult from him because he had to pretend to go in front of everyone. At the time he felt embarrassed and almost really had to go. The film had many highway chase scenes. When he thought that the cars were prepared and began the shoot, he realized that the drivers were missing. * (2013/03/25) Next Monday, April 1, will be the 10th anniversary of Gor Gor Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing's passing. Chau Guoon played General Yang and Lam Fung his fifth son. Earlier the "father and son" promoted the film. "Chok King" Lam Fung claimed that Chau Guoon was the true Chok originator. Lam Fung said that 10 years ago he and Chau Guoon worked together on the television series BLADE HEART (HUET JIN HIN YUEN) and witnessed how Chok Chau Guoon was. Lam Fung said, "I personally witnessed how Chau Guoon was in character as soon as he had the costume on. The things that I learned from Chau Guoon, the serious work ethics, have been very influential to me." He knew Chau Guoon learned swordplay that was useful for a lifetime. For this film he too went to study swords. Chau Guoon felt that it was necessary, after learning at least he would be convincing and in full control; Lam Fung agreed. He did not want to give people the impression that he was a great fighter, but he had to at least convince viewers and looked like a swordsman. He praised Chau Guoon as the true hero who was very at ease with the sword. Chau Guoon praised Lam Fung for taking risks on both fight scenes and horse riding scenes. "Taking risks is a type of Chok. When a man is the most charming? That type of Chok when he was serious and injected into his work would be it." He pointed out that 10 years ago he already thought Lam Fung was very Chok. 10 years later he was even more natural with it. Lam Fung revealed that Chau Guoon was in full armor and costume even when he practiced horse riding. Chau Guoon joked that in front of seven sons he did not dare to take it easy. Chau Guoon also praised his seven sons for being very nice and treating him very well. They often cooked for him and everyone was a great cook. Among the sons, Chau Guoon felt apologetic to Wu Chun and Fu Xinbo because they had a swordplay scene. Although he already controlled his strength he still hit them. Thus he felt sorry. Chau Guoon joked, "I had to Chok the sword, but before that they were Chok." * (2013/03/25) Gillian Chung Yun Tung, Timmy Hung Tin Ming and Chow Ting Yu yesterday promoted their film IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN). Ah Gil said that he was paired in the film with the national wushu champion Chow Ting Yu and he never injured her. Instead during a dance scene he stepped on her toe, she even had to keep performing in pain. She said that she has already started learning Wing Chun on and off for a movie since 2008. Her original intention was to become an action actress, but earlier she was often injured on the set. Has her boyfriend prohibited her from fighting again? She said no because her boyfriend liked kung fu very much. He did not studied but fought better than her. Thus she would not practice with him, as he might poke her eyes out. Tin Ming said that he had many fight scenes with Anthony Wong Chau Sun. When asked who was a better fighter between Chau Sun and his father Sammo Hung Kam Bo, he said often he would support his father. He too planned to teach his son kung fu to strengthen his body. The new father could not help but shake his head when he talked about the earlier family tragedies. He said that now is different from before, parents had to be particularly careful and properly communicate with their children. "I am not scared though because I am a filial son. It should be hereditary." however, he said that he and his wife were very nervous about their son. Earlier their son had a pimple from a shot in the arm and they took him to the doctor. He joked that going to the doctor was very expensive and hoped that his son would become a doctor. However his father wanted him to be a lawyer or a doctor as well, but in the end he chose to be a stunt man. * (2013/03/24) Sin Kwok Lam yesterday attended a discussion panel for his new book about Wing Chun. His disciples Rose Chan Ka Wun, Jonathan Wong Chee Hin, Ricky Fan Chun Fung and others were guests. They even bought the book out of their own pocket to support Master Sin. Someone asked Master Sin how he would rate the film THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI)'s Wing Chun. He joked, "Wong Kar Wai movies are either dark or raining. You can tell who is fighting who. Anyone who walks over may be a better fighter than Zhang Ziyi. I have to learn from that." Master Sin also admitted that he will not make another movie about Wing Chun, but at the end of the year he will movies to promote Hung Kuen. Rose said that she took two movie roles but would still continue to practice with the master on her free time. * (2013/03/24) Louis Koo Tin Lok and Taiwan "idol series queen" Joe Chen Qiao-En were revealed to be secretly in love for two years but are on the brink of a break up due to her jealousy over otaku goddess Michelle Chen. After the rumor surfaced, Koo Tin Lok faced the press for the first time. He neither admitted nor denied it. Yesterday Koo Tin Lok and Christine Kuo attended a Shenzhen shoe event. Goo Jai seemed unaffected and even prepared for the press. When asked to confirm the rumor, he said, "I have no comment. I have always kept a low profile on my love life. Like Papa says, talk less work more." Goo Jai's answer seemed to differ from his past rumor responses, as he was used to "Since it's not true, I have no comment!" This time he did not say "it's not true", leading to even more speculation. Some said that Goo Jai liked Chen Qiao-En for her naivety and her character. Because of work they were separated, Chen Qiao-En would make time to be together; when Goo Jai was working on INFERNO 3D (TOH CHOOK SUN TIN) in Thailand, Chen Qiao-En visited the set; Goo Jai would also sneak to Taiwan to visit her. Two years ago Chen Qiao-En already appeared at Goo Jai's birthday party and saw him as the one who she would marry. As for the cold war rumor, some said that it had nothing to do with Sandra Ng Kwan Yu playing matchmaker to Goo Jai and Michelle Chen. Goo Jai had no feeling for Michelle Chen. Chen Qiao-En and Goo Jai only argued over minor couple matters and did not break up as rumored! Yesterday Goo Jai had no comment about the rumor. He was only willing to say aside from his mother he has not given women's shoes to another woman. His family has not rushed him to wed either, as his Mama wouldn't ask. * (2013/03/24) Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Louis Koo Tin Lok are buddies. Seeing her good friend has been single for years, Chin Wa was rumored to have become "matchmaker" and successfully matched him with her Taiwan friend Joe Chen Qiao-En. Reportedly they have been secretly dating for 2 years, but recently due to goddess Michelle Chen their secret relationship was on the verge of breaking up. Chin Wa two nights ago appeared in Shenzhen as an UNICEF ambassador. As for being called a "matchmaker", Chin wa was surprised. "Really? After 16 years in show business this is the first time I hear about this. I am not sure whether other people are dating, I just know that my 9 month old son (Torres) isn't dating." She was rumored to have matched up Goo Jai and Chen Qiao-En over dinner? She said, "Honestly, other than them, I also know a lot of other people. If they were 'matched' just like that, it's too coincidental. This is a beautiful misunderstanding!" Chin Wa said that later she and Goo Jai will work together on a new film, but he has not heard about him dating. She praised that his good friend's Putonghua has improved, mainly because he spent more time on Mainland productions and not because of "personal coach Chen Qiao-En". She also suddenly changed the subject and revealed Ivana Wong Yuen Chi's secret. "Wong Yuen Chi over New Spring dinner said that she really wanted to date and asked me to introduce a boyfriend to her. Honestly I am not that type of lady, I am a mother, be filial to my mother or matchmaker for my son. However my husband objects, he feels that we should like him develop his own romance freely." Aside from working with Goo Jai in May or Juen, she will also work with Nick Cheung Ka Fai on another film. She and Ka Fai worked together 14 years ago. This time they will play a couple and she looked forward to it very much. She admitted that if she would leave Hong Kong for the movies she would miss her son. Taiwan and Japan will have cinema simultaneous broadcast. Cheung Kwok Wing's friend Donald Tong Hok Tak was willing to loan Gor Gor's Japan Film Critic Association Best Actor award for FAREWELL TO MY CONCUBINE (BA WONG BIT GEI). Back then Gor Gor in order to play this role well spent a lot of effort on studying Beijing Opera and Mandarin in Beijing. Unfortunately he did not win any award in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. However he won one in Japan, his first international film award. Thus it was very valuable. Gor Gor's valuable prize will be on display at the 20th anniversary FAREWELL TO MY CONCUBINE charity screening on April 1, then the Red Mission "the art of Leslie Cheung" film art exhibit at the Central Library from April 2 to 6. Because Tong Tong valued this award very much, the events will have security with it everyday. The borrower through Gor Gor's manager Chan Suk Fun issued a document of promise to Tong Tong to return the award after the exhibits ended. Reportedly fans over a year ago already asked television program host Wang Man Ling to borrow it from Tong Tong. At the time Tong Tong immediately agreed. Wang Man Ling said, "Tong Tong said that whoever was responsible for borrowing would be the one to return it. I was reluctant myself. Because the award was glass, I had a lot of psychological pressure. The award so far hasn't been in my hands yet. Tong Tong will present it through Mrs. Chan to me to give to the fans." A fan learned that Tong Tong promised to loan out the award and went to where Tong Tong often played badminton to ask him if he truly agreed. The fan was very touched to hear Tong Tong's promise and sensed Tong Tong's love for Gor Gor. Chan Suk Fun earlier said on a Cable Entertainment News station program that she has dreamed of Cheung Kwok Wing many times and talked about a lot in her dream. She felt that he had something that he wanted her to do. Shi Nansun revealed that after Cheung Kwok Wing retreated he began to study director courses. As expected, after a week of class he stopped because it was too dull. They praised how honestly Cheung Kwok Wing treated people. He would greet all of the workers. Even when someone hurt him, he would very quickly forgive him or her. * (2013/03/22) Lin Chiling, Andy Lau Tak Wa and Zhang Jingchu starred in the new film SWITCH (TIN GEI FU CHUN SAN GUI TOH) recently unveiled its poster and should soon be released. Earlier because he said that he did not know Taiwan dance king Show Luo, Piggy's fans began a war of words online without any end in sight. Chau Sun before putting out that fire started another one as he slammed the Pang Ho Cheung directed, Chapman To man Jat starred VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) for being vulgar. Yesterday Chau Sun reportedly continued to slam VULGARIA when he chatted to the media. He not only questioned Ah Jat's Film Critic Society Best Actor award but also stated that when he went to te movies to watch VULGARIA he left halfway because he thought it wsa too dirty. He also said that it was very easy to make the movie, all he had to find girls to up and down in front of the camera and sell sex. Ah Jat yesterday posted on Instagram, "I have always felt that Mr. Wong Chau Sun is the one of the most outstanding actors of the three lands on both sides of the straits. If the elder doesn't agree with my acting, this junior would definitely work hard and humbly learn in hopes of being able to provide the audience with even better entertainment. Thank you for your advice and I wish your new film will be a big hit." Although Ah Jat's post was polite, he seemingly accused Chau Sun for using him to promote his upcoming release IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN). * (2013/03/22) Louis Koo Tin Lok suddenly was revealed to be in a secret roomance with Taiwan drama queen Joe Chen Qiao-En for years, but because he was able to pursue goddess Michelle Chen he angered her. Playing a handicapped piano teacher, Kwai Lun-Mei presented roses to Yeung Choi Nei and said that playing an oppressed character was a lot of fun. She also praised her co-star Chang Chen. She said, "I have known Chang Chen since I was a teenager, I trust his professionalism very much and don't feel any pressure at all." Yeung Choi Nei said that Chang Chen had the most pressure. In the film he played a famous doctor who was a sexual predator. Yeung Choi Nei said, "Before he and Kwai Lun-Mei performed that sexual assault scene, he ran to me and asked if that was allowed, or when to put his hand. After I spoke with him, he would tell Kwai Lun-Mei that I said his hand should be there. Then he would able to perform at ease." * (2013/03/22) Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) recently worked with Janice Man Wing Shan worked together on a new film. Two nights ago around 8PM the film shot on location at Central. Lee Chi Ting arrived in tee shirt and jeans and chatted with the director and others about the production details. After that he sat nicely to the side and wait to take his mark. He and the crew got into quite a discussion that was only stopped when the director called for him to take his post. Later when he shot a scene in which he entered and left a bar, they took four or five takes. * (2013/03/22) Film star Andrew Lin Hoi two years ago with Louis Koo Tin Lok and a Mainland partner opened in Beijing the Cinemorph Special Effect Make Up Production company. His hardest to serve client might be his partner Koo Tin Lok. Many knew that Goo Jai was an avid plastic model fan. Lately he rarely talked about his hobby because he has moved on to a new hobby. He wanted Lin Hoi to design an armor and mask according to the IRON MAN blue print purely for his private collection. The Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) produced CONTROL (HONG SING GAI) also used Lin Hoi's special effect make up. This film took place in the 40s and 50s. Lead Ng Yin Cho spent most of his time being interrogated in a chair. "This film was pretty difficult. Ng Yin Cho is always getting beat up, from swollen eyes to busted eyes the make up technique had to have layers." Lin Hoi at age 27 came from Taiwan to work in Hong Kong. "When I was little I like to draw, now I am a special effect make up artist. When I have a chance I would like to draw with the human body and the face, which is considered an alternative art." * (2013/03/22) Stephen Chow Sing Chi's new film JOURNEY TO THE WEST since its Lunar New Year release has been a box office hit. Recently it even reached 1.2 billion RMB and would challenge the highest grossing Chinese film box office record. Earlier the film's co-director Derek Kwok Chi Kin appeared at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and revealed that a sequel has been confirmed. Currently he and Chow Sing Chi are studying the script. He even said that he hoped to participate as an actor again. As for the story, it will be even more horrifying and add some hardcore flavored elements. * (2013/03/22) New comer Rainky Wai Yu Sum recently worked on the film LONELY FIFTEEN (LAN MUI JAI)'s continuation WHAT'S UP, GIRL (MEI GAU SIU NUI). Because she normally is full of expressions and of her outstanding figure, she caught director Philip Yung Chi Kwong's eyes and had to play a character who had to sacrifice herself. Speaking of playing a lead in her first film, she was both happy and nervous. "I am afraid of being inexperience, especially with the bed scene! (Have you made any preparation?) I had to lose weight so I would look better on camera, and I had more facial! I even watched many movies with similar subjects for research." Rainky said that the film reflected reality. Her character was a negative example that would make the audience think, so it was well worth her performance. As for whether she would meet people on WeChat, she said that she would ban strangers and would only chat with friends. "I don't want others to disturb me, ultimately making friends online lacks a sense of security." * (2013/03/22) Anthony Wong Chau Sun and director Herman Yau Lai To talked about the joy and the pain of working together on a film. Their film IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN) will soon be released. Earlier it was even selected for competition at the Udine Far East Film Festival. Director Yau Lai To was asked whether he was nervous. He admitted, "Of course I am happy. (Any pressure?) After so many years of making movies, my emotions are about the same!" Wong Chau Sun said that he was at ease and even admitted that he had to lose weight to attend the film festival. He said, "I prepare to lose weight to have pasta, the small town there is very pretty! The food there is delicious, the wine great, if I have time I would go shopping in Rome too!" Since 2008 many film stars have played the role of Ip Man. Did Chau Sun hesitate when he took it? He joked, "Yes, I keep on thinking, I have made movies for over 100 years!" The director was asked if he hesitated. He said, "I never did, but I thought about it. (What did you think about?) I thought about what I should make!" The director revealed that Chau Sun not only had an Ip Man flavor on camera, even off camera he still kept that flavor! The film had many fight scenes, for Chau Sun the transition from Tai Sheng Pek Kwar to Wing Chun was rather difficult. "Tai Sheng Pek Kwar requires big opening and closing, Wing Chun requires very small and narrow moves. (Do you make noise when you fight?) Some of the styles do! In the film in order to maintain Ip Man's Grand Master presence I didn't make any noise." Last year Wong Chau Sun got into a lot of trouble. Did Chau Sun feel that trouble came his way? He joked, "I have never gotten into trouble, trouble always finds me. (Why?) Maybe I am easy to pick on!" Earlier Wong Chau Sun posted "I don't know who Show Luo is" online and Luo's fans slammed him. Did he think about abandoning the online market? He said, "No! I wouldn't change because of other people!" * (2013/03/22) Mainland artist Yu Bo earlier worked on the film SAVING GENERAL YANG (JUNG LIT YEUNG GA JEUNG) with Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Wu Chun, Li Chen, Vic Chou Yu Man and other stars. Yu Bo said, "My biggest reward is meeting so many good brothers!" He even revealed that he was the closet with Jai Jai. He said, "Every time Jai Jai saw me he would pull me aside to chat. People who don't like to talk liked to talk with me, maybe because I am more easy going!" In addition, the film also had many action scenes. Yu Bo even fell from a horse and injured his hip. A year later the wound still hurt. He recalled, "At the time I couldn't move, the director told me to go to the hospital. I said just give me 20 minutes to rest because I knew that the next day would hurt the most. I was afraid that tomorrow I would not be able to work. At the time I really was grinding my teeth as I worked!" He said that this was the most memorable part of this film for him. * (2013/03/22) Angelica Lee Sinjie recently has been busy with the film INFERNO 3D (TOH CHOOK SUN TIN 3D) promotion. Yesterday she took time to attend a watch store opening. She appeared to be a little larger, but she denied that she was with child. "Last year when I made INFERNO, because I inhaled excessive smoke on the set my trachea had discomfort and became very thin; the Chinese medicine practitioner wanted me to properly rest after the shoot and urged me to eat more. So I got a little fat. I would let motherhood take its natural course, it's not like I would have one as soon as I wanted one. Only with hard work without any pressure would it work." Lee Sinjie already celebrated Gigi Leung Wing Kei's birthday in advance. Did she give any baby product to her? Lee Sinjie said, "Don't give her any pressure! Whether our babies in the future will be sisters or in laws, it is too far away! After marriage you always ask us and give us a lot of pressure. We enjoy our life now and still love to work." * (2013/03/22) Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Simon Yam Tat Wa, Mainland actress Eva Huang Shengyi and Wang Baoqiang yesterday worked on the film THE ICEMAN COMETH 3D (3D BING FUNG HUP) on the Kai Tak airport runway. Julian Cheung Chi Lam loaned his black Lamborghini to the production. Yam Tat Wa looked forward to his fight scene with Yen Chi Tan very much; "I am training like mad and already has 4 pack abdominal muscles. He is the strongest in the Universe? Then I am the strongest in the air! Later I will take a helicopter above the Ching Ma Bridge to shoot at Yen Chi Tan." He said that he already was heavily insured. Yen Chi Tan yesterday mainly shot a few close up shots. He said, "Originally two days ago I had to work, but due to the storm it was cancelled and cost several million. Thus today even with rain we had to work. In early April the team will head to shoot the snowy mountain scene in the Changbai Mountain in the Mainland, then to Beijing for ancient scenes." He said that the Ching Ma Bridge helicopter chase was still not approved half a year after the application. "Hong Kong's advantage is the beautiful scenery, promoted through film it will be even more effective. Japan's sushi thrived due to Feng Xiaogang's IF YOU ARE THE ONE. Thus the Hong Kong government and the film industry should communicate more." * (2013/03/22) Cherie Chung Chor Hung two nights ago dressed elegantly to attend a credit card event and was selected to be the first client of the latest card. Hung Goo said that she loved to swipe. "Although I have blown up a card before, normally I am very cautious. This credit card has no limit and would be better." Speaking of this year being the 10th anniversary of her good friend Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing's passing, Hung Goo said that she will record a video for Gor Gor's memorial concert. She said, "I would talk about Gor Gor's happy past, the most memorable was when we were shooting on location and were with each other everyday. We went to France together several times. We went shopping and looked at home decorations, I miss him very much and the happy times with him. (Have you pay your respect to Gor Gor?) No, but he is always in my heart." Hung Goo still has not come back to film. "I have received many scripts, but I still haven't found anything right. Because they all repeat previous characters, they aren't too exciting and don't interest me in taking them." * (2013/03/22) Diagnosed with cancer last year Cheung Tat Ming is actively treating it. Earlier he mentioned that due to chemotherapy he had metal poisoning and his right arm nerve was affected. Tat Ming's friend Lam Tsz Chung two nights ago attended a film event and revealed that Tat Ming's recovery progress has been ideal. Because he had a great appetite, his weight was already on the rise. He also often played cards at home for his finger agility. He wanted to play badminton. Only his skin was dark and awaited recovery. Tat Ming was still recovering and his wife banned him from any night life. However he is already a TVB training class instructor and works behind the scene on films. He and Chubby Chung already wrote the film KING OF SHRIMP ROE NOODLE (HA JI MIN WONG) script and recently attracted several dozen investors. Chubby Chung said, "Tat Ming is very funny, as soon as he gets an idea he would call me. Sometimes he would send very long text messages, filled with good concepts." He planned to start work on the film in July and August and expected Tat Ming to return to play a backstabber. The shoot will accommodate and shoot during the day. * (2013/03/22) Uncle and nephew Teddy Robin Kwan and Kelvin Kwan Chor Yiu participated in the Ho Hong directed film DOOMSDAY.PARTY (MOOT YUT.PAI DUI). Two nights ago at the 11th Hong Kong Asian Film Financing Forum award presentation the film won the HAF award and the ARRI award, HK$150,000 cash prize and HK$150,000 in film equipment sponsorship. Teddy Robin and Kwan Chor Yiu admitted that the film originally planned on winning the contest for funding, but before the official result was announced the film already received the Hong Kong Film Development Fund's assistance and a film company's investment to complete production. The award was not only a surprise but the prizes will help with the post production work and promotion. They were happy to be able to make this good film. In the film they played extremists. Kwan Chor Yiu made bombs and robbed a bank, while Teddy Robin set himself on fire to protest the financial system. Yet they were not worried that they would misguide viewers. Teddy Robin said, "The film theme is to remind everyone to remain alert and not to do anything bad." Kwan Chor Yiu said that the film reflected real life. The production involved ruling class property grab and he sensed the intensity of the problem. Teddy Robin looked forward to his nephew Kwan Chor Yiu to work together on music next time and display the hidden talent of the Kwan family. * (2013/03/21) Oscar Leung Lit Wai, Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting), Janice Man Wing Shan, Bob Lam Sing Bun two nights ago worked on the Raymond Yip Wai Man directed new film at Central, but the film has yet to have a title yet. They gathered in a sheet metal noodle stall on a slope for the shoot. The scene was simply about Leung Lit Wai, Lee Chi Ting and others visiting Bob's noodle stall for a late night snack and JM after work passed by and greeted them. Wai Wai was having a bowl of noodles in the scene. Originally the story was very simple, but the shot took 5 or 6 takes. Every time he would stuff noodles into his mouth and the noodle stall boss for each take would cook him a new bowl. The first few times Wai Wai ate the noodles. By the third bowl he started to get full. Every time the director yelled cut Wai Wai immediately went to the side and spat out the noodles. The noodle scene took a hour. JM appeared just in time with hair and make up. During free time Lee Chi Ting properly went to watch the playback near Yip Wai Man and even studied camera angles with the director. Wai Wai and Bob went to the side and chatted. * (2013/03/21) Clifton Ko Chi Sum produced and imported a Singapore Buddhist play yesterday held a press conference. Ko Chi Sum revealed that in June he will make a "comeback" and work with Raymond Wong Pak Ming on a movie. * (2013/03/21) Louis Koo Tin Lok, Michelle Ye (Yip Shuen) and Wallace Chung Hong Leung two nights ago attended the film DRUG WAR (DUK JIN) premiere. Many fans brought signs and chanted for Chung Hong Leung. They were louder than the actors who were sharing the production experience. Chung Hong Leung could only keep making gestures for his fans to stop. Koo Tin Lok rushed back to Thailand for work. He said that he was in Hong Kong for less than 24 hours but had 3 interviews, it was a day that he had to talk the most in recent months. Koo Tin Lok had action scenes in several recent films. This time in Thailand he had explosion and car crush scenes. Every time work was like a war. "Actually I really want to take a vacation, then I have to make 4 movies like DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART 2 (DAN SUN NAM NUI 2) and OVERHEARD 3 (SIT TING FUNG WON 3). I won't be able to take any time off until the middle of next year." DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART 2 will follow the first film with the addition of Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Vic Chou Yu Man. Koo Tin Lok said, "I play a rock climbing expert. The director thought I was Spider-Man and arranged for me to climb onto a balcony that was over a hundred stories above to propose. Hong Kong buildings all have reflection glass curtain wall, I don't know how to climb it either." Yip Shuen revealed that during the shoot dogs were chasing her. When she turned around suddenly all the men disappeared. She thought she was abandoned. Actually all the men planned to climb the wall first and pull her out of danger together. "I was the only girl in the film, I have to thank the men for taking care of me. I have already worked with this team many times, we feel like a family." * (2013/03/21) Media Asia and Donnie Yen Chi Tan will create the film company Super Hero. Yesterday a contract signing ceremony took place. Media Asia boss Peter Lam Kin Ngok attended with Yen Chi Tan; they turned into super heroes and posed with swords. Lam Kin Ngok said that he was the best extra. Soi Cheang Pou-Soi and Derek Kwok Chi Kin who will direct for Super Hero also attended. Yen Chi Tan said that although he will form a company with Media Asia to make movies, he will still make movies outside. Super Hero will have no annual film quota and will make a movie when it is right. Yen Chi Tan admitted that he had offers from Hollywood, but his movies now may not be Hollywood films. For years his preference and the ability to provide the audience entertainment and positive energy came first in his movie making. He was just as willing to take risks now as When he was at his poorest and only had HK$100 on him. He joked that it would be the best to shoot behind his home, so everyday he could go home and eat. He will work on an action comedy with Mainland director Feng Xiaogang. Yen Chi Tan said, "Feng Xiaogang is a director I admire, every one of his movie is a classic. He excels in comedy, I excel in action films. The crossover will be very entertaining." * (2013/03/21) The Ronny Yu Yun Tai directed film SAVING GENERAL YANG (JUNG LIT YEUNG GA JEUNG) has a group of hunks like Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Yu Bo, Vic Chou Yu Man, Li Chen, Raymond Lam Fung, Wu Chun and Fu Xinbo. Yu Yun Tai said that this film will display the beautiful culture of Chinese benevolence to the younger generation; the fight scenes in the film focused on being real, solid and brutal. They were not superfluous at all. All the key actors wore armors, performed with real weapons and rode horses. As the eldest son, Ekin almost fell off a horse during a battle scene. He recalled, "That time either I die or almost have to be cast again. At the time (Stephen) Tung Wai (action director) wanted to shoot a formation change and all the horses to move evenly, without using special effect they would wires. Yet during the shoot, the wires on a horse touched a cart and thus pulled away from its path. If I made up for it I would lose balance. I thought if I fell I would die because behind me were 300 horses. Maybe because every time before work we invited the Yang clan banner, I am not saying that I am superstitious but when I fell someone propped me up and I was fine." Did he get married after this near death experience? He said, "Not just that, people grow up and it is a responsibility. Life after marriage isn't too different, only thinking is widen and matter is handled more maturely." Second son Yu Bo admitted that he and Ekin had the most scenes together and they were the closest. He praised Ekin and the director for taking care of him. He remembered that when Ekin discovered some lines were suitable for other brothers he would make the suggestion. * (2013/03/21) Earlier, Mainland Jia Xuanning criticized the Pang Ho Cheung directed VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) and was slammed in Hong Kong. Chapman To Man Jat not only blasted her on facebook but also deliberately held charity screenings to preserve local culture. To Man Jat after winning a Best Actor award naturally was louder, but seemingly not too many agreed. Fellow Best Actor Anthony Wong Chau Sun perhaps was upset that To Man Jat was on the same level as him, earlier on the radio he called him and Director Pang cheap. In a discussion a reporter said that To Man Jat won Best Actor but no one won Best Actress. When Chau Sun was asked about the state of current actresses, he said, "Even someone like To Man Jat can win Best Actor, of course there is no actress to choose from! When he can be the lead actor, how do you choose? You tell me how?" Chau Sun watched VULGARIA but could not tolerate it anymore halfway through. He said, "It's very easy to make that movie, just get some girl to jump rope and you are done. Wow! Halfway through it I already couldn't take anymore, vulgar and crass beyond belief. It's too excessive!" Chau Sun studied drama and was a film industry elder. No matter how To Man Jat's acting was, as a junior he finally kept his mouth shut, did not talk back to avoid a war of words over the air. To Man Jat was worthy of praise for behaving correctly. In comparison to the two year long "I don't know who Show Luo is" conflict he was much more cleaner. Chau Sun earlier could not help but discipline To Man Jat and Pang Ho Cheung, saying that they could make whatever they wanted but they could not say that they represented the nucleus value of Hong Kong. This topic should not be in the hands of two "small time thugs" who thought their movie represented Hong Kong value. They truly were megalomaniacs; they should study more, talk less, and understand the Mainland ideology more. Actors who won awards but were not recognized were nothing new. Every time when favorites lose and dark horses win, there are always voices of recognition and opposition. Since To Man Jat today might not have his elder's recognition, he should do his part and work hard to become a Best Actor who everyone would agree with. Conceivably no matter how hot tempered Chau Sun would be he still would give him the thumbs up. * (2013/03/21) The Pang Ho Cheung produced, Chapman To Man Jat, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung, Matthew Chow Hoi Kwong starred comedy SDU: SEX DUTIES UNIT (FEI FU CHOOK JING) yesterday held a press conference at the Hong Kong Entertainment Expo. Revealed to be on a romantic trip in London with Kary Ng Yu Fei, Yue Man Lok was repeatedly made fun of as enjoying expeditions to London. To Man Jat joked, "I congratulate Ah Lok on his new life and a successful expedition everyday!" Yue Man Lok admitted that he would not be mad about his romantic rumors being made fun of. He even said that he was very happy lately. Ng Yu Fei revealed that he called everyday. His phone bill must be huge. Yue Man Lok said, "No, now with the internet everyone is using WeChat." Yue Man Lok said that in the film he would work with naked women. Will he invite his girlfriend Ng Yu Fei to the premiere? He said, "Work is still work." To Man Jat added, "I will invite Kary to watch." The film poster event was unveiled, Tsang Kwok Cheung, Chow Hoi Kwong's boxer looks made their privates stand out. Instead To Man Jat and Yue Man Lok were more conservative. To Man Jat joked, "Tsang Kwok Cheung is big and tall, (Eric) Tsang Chi Wai is the real dried shrimp." He said that during the poster shoot he and Yue Man Lok wore boxers too, but perhaps out of fear of panic in public places that was cancelled. * (2013/03/21) Eddie Peng Yu-Yen, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, director Dante Lam Chiu Yin worked together on the film MMA (GIK JIN), which yesterday held a Hong Kong Entertainment Expo press conference. Because the director invited foreign professional fighters to perform, Peng Yu-Yen was afraid of getting hurt during the fight scenes. In the poster his nose was swollen. "I couldn't recognize myself. Mama thought Bruce Lee was in the photo." Peng Yu-Yen described the production process as painful, exhausting and lonely, but now looking back the memories were beautiful. Peng Yu-Yen and Cheung Ka Fai played mentor and protege fighters, he praised Ka Fai's fighting skills and figure for which he was no match for. Peng Yu-Yen said, "We can talk, always studying how to train and diet. If the film performs well at the box office, the shirtless muscle show duty should go to Ka Fai." March 24 will be Peng Yu-Yen's 31st birthday. Yesterday the event celebrated in advance with him. He wished for the film to be a big hit, a smooth career and good health for his family. On his birthday he will be working on a commercial in Thailand. Will his girlfriend celebrate with him? Peng Yu-Yen said, "I am still busy, now I am busy with a movie. It's hard to find someone. Luckily with work I wouldn't be so lonely." * (2013/03/21) Anthony Wong Chau Sun and Anita Yuen Wing Yi in the film IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN) played husband and wife. Although in real life they have their own significant others, the intimate scene performance was not awkward for them at all. Chau Sun revealed that Yuen Wing Yi told her husband Julian Cheung Chi Lam about the bed scene. "As we were preparing for that warm 'bed scene', suddenly Cheung Chi Lam called and asked what Yuen Wing Yi was doing. She actually loudly screamed into the phone, 'Getting ready to go to bed with someone'. Most interestingly Cheung Chi Lam replied, 'Have fun'." Chau Sun said that a couple had to be that playful to be happy together. "Everyone knows Cheung Chi Lam loves his wife very much, their son is cute too. They truly are a rare pair." * (2013/03/21) Louis Fan Siu Wong, Rose Chan Ka Wun, Grace Wong Kwan Hing, Philip Keung Ho Men, Jazz Lam Tsz Sin participated in a series of kung fu films that Sharon Yeung Pan Pan produced, GWUN FUT NIN DOI (WARLORD AGE), LUEN SAI CHOOK YING HUNG (CHAOS MAKES HEROES), JUNG GA TEET MA LAU (REAL FAKE IRON MONKEY), YUNG JEH NO GUI (THE BRAVE HAS NO FEAR), and SIU NIN DONG JI KEUNG (YOUTH SHOULD BE STRENGTHEN THEMSELVES). Yesterday a press conference was held. Fan Siu Wong described working with Chan Ka Wun again as a reunion, but in the film he had a romance with Wong Kwan Hing. He said, "Wong Kwan Hing was very nervous about her first reactionary bullet scene. I said that once the reactionary bullets blew open my skin. After hearing that she was even more worried." Chan Ka Wun and Max Zhang Jun had many fight scenes, witnessing for the first his amazing skills. "Luckily he was willing to accommodate me, I avoided injuries." Due to the intense production pace, Chan Ka Wun tied up her hair for two days in a row without washing it. Wong Kwan Hing revealed that the scene had a rape scene. She liked the girl in the story and the role's potential, so she decided to take it. [ BLAH OF THE WEEK ] Columns, Reviews, Interviews 1. APPLE DAILY, MARCH 24 2013, HONG KONG FILM AWARD SPECIAL TOPIC GORDON LAM KA TUNG INHERITS AWARD DREAMS The interview with Gordon Lam Ka Tung took place on the top floor of the Nathan Hotel on Jordan Road. Once upon a time when film was thriving, almost everyday a press conference took place here. "Nate Peak" became synonymous with the boom. Sadly Ka Tung has never witnessed the glory. Started in television, he barely made the train for the co-production film second spring. At the Hong Kong Film Award on April 13th, Ka Tung will compete with his third Best Supporting Actor nomination, in terms of achievement he had room to improve. The movies that he produced however do not disappoint. His first was a Hong Kong Film Award Best Picture. Claiming that opportunities came from the previous generation, he repays the show business with cultivating the next generation of successors. Heritage has become this Hong Kong Film Award nominees' big topic. - HO WING NING The film THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) brought out the discussion of heritage. Lam Ka Tung started in television, one of his mentors included Alex Man Chi Leung. Ka Leung said that his relationship with Man Ji was like a teacher and a friend. "At the time I was still a kid at the television station, which wasn't just about power struggle. Man Ji was very willing to give opportunities to younger actors. He always told the directors, 'why is it always close up shots of me, shoot the young kids, shoot Ka Tung so not every shot has me in it' thanks to him I had a lot of opportunities, with more on camera appearances and lines. Normally he and I had a lot to talk about, he taught me how to act. He even taught me how to live." Everyone called Uncle Shrimp, Kwan Ho San was also another benefactor of Ka Tung at the television station. Ka Tung recalled when they made DOWN MEMORY LANE (MAN LEI CHEUNG CHING) the cast and crew had a big meeting. Executives like directors and producers were on hand, at the meeting they naturally were taking aim at each other but appeared to be like normal. Before Ka Tung understood what was happening, Uncle Shrimp who was smoking and squinting was already very clear headed. "Kids, this is acting, even real acting couldn't reenact this! Learn!" Since then Ka Tung learned to observe every aspect of life in reality and mix into his acting. Ka Tung said, "Uncle Shrimp had a lot of principles that truly can't be learned from whatever training class. My days in television truly was wooden men's alley, these few elders taught me a lot." Struck Between Two Masters When Ka Tung made the jump to the big screen he even ran into the greatest teacher of his life, Andy Lau Tak Wa. He said, "Wa Jai's influence on me of course is the greatest, his fire is like turbo. When I was at the television station I was already known for being called 'Producer Lam", in other words I had an opinion about everything. I never expected that next to Wa Jai I still had ways to go. He not only talked, he also actually did. You have to admire that, a superstar can be so serious. Working with him no one dares to be lazy. He also showed me the world was actually so wide." Once Ka Tung stepped into the film world, he participated in many films: DANCE OF A DREAM (OI GWUN YU MUNG), INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH) and THE MAD DETECTIVE (SUN TAM) to his recent third Best Supporting Actor nominated film COLD WAR (HONG JIN). Ka Tung remembered his two previous defeats like they were yesterday. "As an actor of course I wanted to win an award, if I say I didn't I would be lying to you. The first time with DANCE I could skip, I deserved (to lose). At the time I didn't know what acting was. Watching it again I would feel it was very immature. The second time with IP MAN originally I thought I had a chance because I put a lot of effort into enriching the character. Yet in the end I lost to THE BEAST STALKER (JING YUN)'s Liu Kai Chi." Ka Tung said that award not only depended on the right time and place, but the competition was also very important. This year he ran into two masters. He said, "Actually this time I never thought that I would be nominated with COLD WAR. The entire film I had less than 20 lines. Of course I am happy. I would pick VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET)'s (Ronald) Cheng Chung Kei, but privately of course I want Big Brother Man Ji to win. I would be happier than if I won." Giving The Younger Folks A Hand In comparison to the life of an actor, Lam Ka Tung's behind the scene job seemed to be even more outstanding. Three years ago the film that he produced GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) was very successful. He said, "Sometimes I feel the later group of the Hong Kong film industry has no chance to rise, always with the same few people. Often investing bosses are unwilling to take risks, with new comers what guarantees do they have? Of course they would use sure fire veterans, creating the film industry generation gap. My thinking is very close to Wa Jai's, under permissible situations we try to give new comers opportunities. So aside from acting in recent years I have spent a lot of time on finding new screen writers, discussing screenplays and finding investors." He encouraged new screen writers to talk and think all they want at meetings, never to have any baggage. This was Ka Tung's concept of being a producer. "Do you know it won't work if you don't say it, if you don't try then it won't work. On one day I read and heard about many scripts, many were from kids. Their techniques might be very mature, they had a lot of fire. The film industry needs this. Back then elders gave me the opportunity, I am only passing this opportunity on!" The 32nd Hong Kong Film Award Best supporting Actor Nominations Ronald Cheng Chung Kei (VULGARIA) Liu Kai Chi (THE BULLET VANISHES) Gordon Lam Ka Tung (COLD WAR) Chapman To Man Jat (DIVA) Alex Man Chi Leung (THE BOUNTY) Breaks Out With Small Budget Films Lam Ka Tung so far in his acting career seemingly has never won any award, but his first time as a producer, the film GALLANT first the Hong Kong Film Critic Society and the Hong Kong Film Award Best Picture. Seemingly Ka Tung's eyes were more successful than the characters that he played. He found two relatively inexperienced directors Clement Cheng Si Kit and Derek Kwok Chi Kin, with a HK$8 million investment and no star except a group of aging but not done actors Chan Wai Man, Teddy Robin Kwan, Leung Siu Lung, Chan Kuen Tai and Susan Shaw Yam Yam. Ka Tung said that he and boss Lau Tak Wa initially wanted to return to make some small budget films and create another road outside market calculations. "We were proven to be successful. VULGARIA follows the same route. Small budget films can give new filmmakers experience. Do you see how quickly Kwok Chi Kin is making a movie for Sing Yeh (Stephen Chow Sing Chi)?" Ka Tung joked that anyone off the street could make calculations, what the film industry needs is people who never ask what they get in return like Wa Jai. 2. MING PAO DAILY, MARCH 24 2013, FILM WORDS GOLDEN GATE WOMAN WONDER This year's Hong Kong international film festival has stepped into its seventh day, I have watched around 20 films. BEAUTIFUL 2013 Entertaining The film festival opened with Herman Yau Lai To's Hong Kong films IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN), which has a style of its own. Johnnie To Kei Fung's new Mainland film DRUG WAR (DUK JIN) is also special, depicting a battle of wits between Hong Kong criminals and Mainland police. However we will discuss them further when they are officially released. Another two films that are related to Hong Kong are worth introducing, the first is the Hong Kong International Film Festival produced quartet BEAUTIFUL 2013 (MEI HO 2013), which is very entertaining. In Japanese director Kiyoshi Kurosawa's BEAUTIFUL NEW BAY AREA PROJECT wonderfully transforms love at first sight into kung fu, beauty Mao Mita fights brilliantly. Mainland director Lu Yue adapted Lu Ch'iao's novel into 1 DIMENSION. Using black and white contre-jour and ink wash painting to shoot a classic "zen hero" legend, the style is unique. Taiwan Wu Nien-Jen's A NEW YEAR, THE SAME DAYS was a intimate and humorous family slice of life. Hong Kong Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting's INDIGO is also about two generations of a family. Wonderfully it has song and dance, thrill and joy, as well as brilliant electric light and phantom shadows. BEAUTIFUL 2013 already had two screenings, with one more tonight at the Science Museum. (Three and a half out of five stars) GOLDEN GATE SILVER LIGHT: Legendary Female Chinese Director Another is female director S. Louisa Wei's English/Cantonese documentary GOLDEN GATE, SILVER LIGHT. The Luisa Wei and Law Kar produced film traces the life and times of the 30s and 40s female director Esther Eng. This San Francisco Chinese made 9 Cantonese films in the U.S. and Hong Kong, including GOLDEN GATE GIRL that had a newborn Bruce Lee appearance. Esther Eng's movies have mostly been lost. This film displays her own star power, walking the earth across nations and continents with swagger. After retirement she returned to the U.S. and opened a successful restaurant, she also became a gambler. Esther Eng wore men's clothing and had female star companions. People called her "Brother Ha". She was like a real life Hua Mulan and seemed to have homosexual tendency, quite a colorful woman. Please note that GOLDEN GATE, SILVER DREAM will have two screenings at the Art Center in early April. (Three out of five stars) - SHEK KEI 3. APPLE DAILY, MARCH 23 2013, ELECTRIC FILM ROAD RAYMOND LAM FUNG COMPETES IN CHOK WITH ADAM CHENG SIU CHAU The Adam Cheng Siu Chau played heroes have always been described as romantic and handsome. Back then he was known as Pretender Chau. In today's slang, he definitely would be called Chok Chau. Now Raymond Lam Fung is already a new generation symbol of chok. This time two generations of chok king in the film SAVING GENERAL YANG (JUNG LIT YEUNG GA JEUNG) ran into each other. Chau Guoon felt that he has never been chok, it only unknowingly radiated from his heart. Lam Fung boldly said, "When I awake up I am." Two generations of Chok Kings are claiming "naturally chok". Who is better, you be the judge. - Lo Ping Hong Kong Release Date: April 4 Lam Fung and Cheng Siu Chau after the 2004 TVB series BLADE HEART (HUET CHIN HIN YUEN) reprised their father and son relationship in the film SAVING GENERAL YANG. The difference is playing General Yang, Chau Guoon had more sons like Wu Chun, Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Vic Chou Yu Man, Yu Bo and others. Their sons were no slouch in the looks or the physique departments. His fifth son Lam Fung was even publicly recognized for beyond chok. However Chau Sun has long been known as Pretender Chau. Back then his Chor Lau Heung was so romantic and handsome that he had thousands of housewives under his spell. If the word chok existed back then, Chau Guoon would have been the chok king of kings. Lam Fung: Chok When He Awakes Up The world really loves comparisons, even chok has different classes. Who is the best? When Lam Fung and Chau Guoon earlier chok for the photo shoot as requested, Lam Fung's first reaction was, "I am as soon as I wake up, it's a way of life." Chau Guoon joked, "I already chok, our lives are it!" However Chau Guoon did not feel that he loved to chok. "I don't, it's just that way unknowingly. It radiated from the heart. Actually every person has his or her advantage, like in the movie the actors who played my sons all give different impressions." He continued, "Lam Fung I don't know how to describe him, everyone says he's chok, I would call him stylish; Wu Chun is very cute, looks like a girl, when he takes off his shirt he is huge. If angel face devilish figure describes a woman, can it describe Wu Chun? I can't think of a more apt description; Jai Jai (Vic Chou Yu Man) really is very blue, mild mannered and handsome; Yu Bo kills, Taiwanese means very manly, with a lot of masculine charm; as for me, I myself think I am a good role model. I don't want to turn the kids bad. I didn't expect for Ekin to take my spot, he takes care of others like a big brother." What warmed Chau Guoon's heart the most was although the film was filled with handsome guys, they did not fight over the spotlight. They were united and took care of each other. Chok as soon as he woke up, Lam Fung during the break took out his iPad and showed his new music video NICE to Chau Guoon. The reporter said that Lam Fung's dancing was just as chok, Chau Guoon insisted, "It's stylish!" If Chau Guoon was a chok founding father and the chok king of a generation, would Lam Fung agree? Lam Fung said, "First, this elder influenced me. We have worked together before, and he showed his best side on the stage. You should show your best to the audience. To me, chok is not a look but a way of life. My song CHOK's lyrics already expressed the entire meaning. Before the film began production, we have studied this word; Chau Guoon was, especially in costumes. All viewers all how romantic and handsome Commander Chor is." In the eyes of Lam Fung, Cheng Siu Chau was also stylish and not chok. Chau Guoon: Never Say Retire Chau Guoon's last film was the 1994 SHAOLIN POPEY 2 MESSY TEMPLE (SIU LUM SIU JI II SUN WU LUNG YUEN). He said that in the Mainland just television series productions alone already kept him plenty busy. Never tired of acting, he although is 66 still never says retire. Chau Guoon humorously said, "When no one asks then I retire! I have to work, never retire. Otherwise you will rest eternally! I honestly say, after retirement I wouldn't know what to do. It's like not having tomorrow, the person is very sad. I used to act for a living. Now I have a job, that's enough." Saving Kiss Scenes For Karena Ng Lam Fung has a new romance, recently he revealed that he did not want his girlfriend Karena Ng Chin Yu to work on kiss scenes. Luckily SAVING GENERAL YANG is about benevolence and not romance. Lam Fung did not need to kiss for his role. Lam Fung was very fair, aside from Chin Yu BB he did not want to kiss anyone else. "After so many years, unless the story requires it I would avoid it when I can. I have run into many that the story doesn't call for, kissing for the sake of kissing cases. I can replace them with other things." "Be How We Should Be" After magnanimously publicizing his romance, Lam Fung honestly said, "Dating is a part of life, from the start I never thought that I needed to hide. I never set myself out to be an idol, I never said that every time I came up I would set a handsome look. I just wanted to focus on playing every character well, but I can't say I don't have any hindrance. We really want to have our own space, be how we should be. That's not being selfish, the most important is to know what you are after in life. I can't possibly because of work lose love and myself." He admitted that he did not understand how accepting fans would be of Ng Chin Yu. He said, "What I am doing is normal behavior, people who love me should wish me well. What do two people have such a hard time with getting together? I am out in the open! I am seriously facing life right now." With his career on the rise but still deeply in love, Lam Fung stated that indeed he has thought seriously about marriage. He said, "I am in the 30s! Every men would think about this. I don't have an idol burden." Although they clicked when they worked on a movie together, after becoming a couple would Lam Fung resist playing a couple with his girlfriend? He said, "No, I feel I don't need to avoid that. Instead I feel working together on a movie gives us more opportunities to be together." Synopsis: Seven Sons On An Aging Father Rescue Expedition The film SAVING GENERAL YANG took place in early Northern Song, when the Liao Dynasty had its eyes on the Central Plains. Luckily the Yang Clan managed to keep them at bay. In a duel for Princess Chai's hand in marriage, statesman Pan Mei's son Pan Pau accidentally dies at the hands of Yang's seventh son and thus turning the two clans into enemies. When Liao invaded Song, Pan Mei volunteered to be the commander and even asked Yang's sixth and seventh son to be in the front lines. General Yang realized that he had bad intentions and went to war in place of his sons. When Liao and Song battled, the Song military had the advantage. Later responsible for additional support Pang Mei suddenly retreated, leading to General Yang being severely injured and trapped. When the seven sons of the Yang clan learned of their elderly father's condition, they immediately decided to head out for a rescue much to their mother's reluctance...... Opening March 7 2013 [ THE FILM CATALOGUE ] During the early years of the Republic era, in the North-East region of China, the people are suffering from the power struggle among the local Warlords, bandits, and Japanese invaders. Warlord Lam is not a leader of great vision, but having a patriotic heart, stands firm in his own beliefs, despite the several solicitations and temptations from Japan. The only ‘paradise’ within the region is ‘Lucky Town’, the one place where no one dared to attack. Rumors abound that this place is cursed, for whenever anyone attempted to invade Lucky Town, they would disappear and vanish without a trace. In reality, there are seven kung fu masters who have retreated into the shadows and resided here. They are Manysons Madonna and Madonhung, the owners of a steamed bread shop Nam Mor Bing, the Taoist priest Horny Four, the tailor Little Trumpet, the cosmetic salesman and Mamasan Maggie, the brothel owner. Every one of them is a master in his own right, keeping Lucky Town in peace. Lam’s daughter, Cheryl is very fond of culinary arts, and often does grocery shopping in Lucky Town. She is pretty and lovely and very much favoured by the Seven Masters, especially Horny Four who falls for her at first sight and regards her as his dream lover. She then brings Yan to Lucky Town and begs the Seven Masters to cure Yan. On the other hand, Warlord Lam saves a pretty lady and grows fond of her. This lady is actually Kiyoko Kurosawa in disguise. Using Ninjutsu skills, Kiyoko seduces Lam and controls his will. She then organises a wedding for Lam and herself, in the hope of becoming the warlord’s wife so she can control Lam’s army. The Korean Cultural Service has previously offered up plenty of micro-budget cinema and the best in Korea’s genre offerings, but this spring, we’re combining the two – and delivering New York four of the country’s most exciting micro-budgeted action, science fiction, and horror films! It is easier for larger studios to be forced to break away from the directors’ original visions to create projects that focus on mass appeal. But these micro-budget films, financed by brave individuals rather than companies, offer creative, strange, and boundary-pushing movies that no studio in their right mind would create! We’re talking about the wildest, weirdest genre films you can imagine – from Korea’s undisputed kings of micro-budgets! Get ready for an invasion, New York City… because you’re about to go up against crazed criminals, lovelorn time travelers, brain-hungry zombies, and a pair of extraterrestrial beachwear! It doesn’t get much stranger than this! Tuesday, April 30, 2013 @ 7pm THE NEIGHBOR ZOMBIE (2009, U.S. Premiere) Why should Americans have all the fun when it comes to zombie outbreaks? In this tongue-in-cheek 2009 thriller, Seoul is overrun with the walking dead – and the government says it’s time to wipe them out! A six-part comedy/horror anthology from four cutting-edge indie directors, The Neighbor Zombie follows an unbelievable zombie outbreak as it spreads throughout Korea, examining the numerous people it affects in bizarre, wild ways. With an amazing $18,000 budget, it embodies the pinnacle of what a talented group of filmmakers can accomplish if they put their delicious, juicy brains together! Tuesday, April 16, 2013 @ 7pm INVASION OF THE ALIEN BIKINI (2011) Young Gun (Hong Young-Geun) is a virgin vigilante, determined to do the right thing as he wanders through the city streets at night. A self-proclaimed protector of the people (who occasionally picks up a wayward scrap of trash), he risks his life for the good of his oblivious metropolis. One night, after saving a lovely young woman and bringing her back to his apartment, Young Gun’s chastity becomes threatened: it turns out the lovely young woman is not of this Earth, and her one and only mission on this planet is to procreate and save her species! A riotous mix of comedy and science fiction, this raunchy romp from director Oh Young-Doo was shot with an unbelievable budget of $4,500 – employing the assistance of family, friends, and anyone he could find to help bring his hilarious vision to life! Join us for the New York Premiere of this critically acclaimed indie gem, but leave the kids at home – this one’s a bit racy! ---------------------- HK Top Ten Central hktopten@hotmail.com http://hktopten.orgfree.com | http://hktopten.blogspot.com
