* (2013/02/12) With the start of the Year of the Snake, Stephen Chow Sing 
Chi remained the Lunar New Year box office legend selling point.  In 
particular Mainland viewers took to his film JOURNEY TO THE WEST: 
CONQUERING THE DEMONS (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN) very much.  On the Lunar 
New Year's Day its Mainland release already grew to almost HK$100 
million, with 78 million RMB it broke the highest Chinese film opening 
box office record that PAINTED SKIN: THE RESURRECTION (WAT PEI 2) created 
last year with 70 million RMB.  
	Although Sing Yeh only directed and did not star in JOURNEY TO 
THE WEST, which was somewhat disappointing to Hong Kong viewers for 
being unable to enjoy his Hong Kong style comedy, the film had two top 
Mainland stars Wen Zhang and Huang Bo, along with Taiwan's Show Luo (Law 
Chi Cheung) and two sexy goddesses Shu Qi and Chrissie Chau Sau Na.  The 
film was very attractive to Mainland viewers.
	JOURNEY opened on Lunar New Year's Day in the Mainland and 
reached 78 million yuan RMB, which broke the PAINTED SKIN: THE 
RESURRECTION's 70 million RMB old record to become the highest Chinese 
film opening box office champion in the Mainland.  Opening on the same 
day, Lunar New Year films BETTER AND BETTER and LOVE RETAKE opened to 6.5 
million RMB and 1.3 million RMB respectively.  They were no match for 
JOURNEY at all.
	However, without Sing Yeh's performance, JOURNEY's draw in Hong 
Kong was slightly weaker.  After 4 days in release its cumulative box 
office was only HK$7.27 million.  Although it was the top Chinese film 
as it defeated the Raymond Wong Pak Ming, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Teresa Mo 
Shun Kwan, Ronald Cheng Chung Kei and other comedy masters starred same 
day release HOTEL DELUXE (BAK SING JAU DIM, cumulative box office of 
HK$3.85 million) and the Alan Tam Wing Lun and Veronica Yip Yuk Hing 
guest starred, TVB all star performed I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI 
HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI, cumulative box office of HK$4.07 million), it still 
was no match for the foreign film A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, which with 
HK$9.17 million remained on top of the cumulative box office.
	JOURNEY's Mainland success was due to the recently red hot 
Mainland actors Wen zhang and Huang Bo.  Sing Yeh was able to maintain 
his personal style and Shu Qi's tough character was very well received 
and praised.  Thus while THE GRANDMASTERS made Zhang Ziyi hot, JOURNEY TO 
THE WEST enabled Shu Qi's acting to elevate to another level.

* (2013/02/11) Joyce Cheng Yun Yi starred in the Lunar New Year film I 
LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI).  Her character 
Chu Yuk Yuen looked just like the younger version of Fei Jeh Lydian Shum 
Din Ha.  Yun Yi admitted that she watched her mother's work for research.  
"This time is a 70s movies, I studied TEDDY GIRLS (FEI NUI JING JUEN)'s 
accent, diction and slang.  However my character has no modern version 
so I don't have to be like anyone.  With the wig and glasses people would 
think of Mama.  I thought about saluting Fei Jeh but I felt the age 
wasn't right.  Actually it's pretty hard for me to impersonate Mommy 
because I have never looked at Mommy through 'a viewer's eyes'.  In 
addition Mommy is very lovable, but I am quite a tomboy.  I have an 
easier time with impersonating (Kate) Tsui Tsz Shan."
	Reportedly she gained weight for this film and once had two rice 
boxes.  Yun Yi said, "I wasn't deliberately gaining weight, I only wanted 
to be better for the comedy.  (Eric) Tsang Chi Wai didn't suggest it 
either.  I admitted I was a little loose, but I didn't have two rice 
boxes.  Now I am losing weight for the record cover.  Actually when I 
reached a certain weight my skin started to deteriorate.  That report had 
motivational purposes and (Shirley) Cheung Yuk Shan has been very 
supportive of me.  I am still the spokesperson, I have a responsibility 
(toward the slimming company)."  She hoped to lose to 120 pounds.

* (2013/02/10) Aaron Kwok Fu Sing after completing his concert will start 
making movies.  This year he plans to make 3 movies.  Aside from COLD 
WAR 2, he also wanted to make a costume action film.  "Costume action 
films can be very fantastic, the space is very wide and very different 
from modern films; I also want to make a little romance for the audience 
to experience the sweet, sour, bitter and spicy atmosphere."  After 
winning the Golden Horse Best Actor, Sing Sing in the past few years 
deliberately made alternative films to test his acting.  However after 
the success of COLD WAR he discovered that the audience actually really 
wanted to see qualify mainstream movies.  Thus he would consider whether 
he should make more commercial films.
	Speaking of film awards, Sing Sing changed his mind in the past 
few years.  He felt that awards did not come just because he wanted them.  
Now he would calmly face the situation.  "If I win, I would be moved 
because my effort has been recognized; if I don't, I still would keep 
making good movies because the box office is the most important.  I want 
to make quality movies so viewers would feel I am a real actor and look 
forward to my movies and they do with my concerts."

* (2013/02/09) THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) became the 63rd Berlin 
Film Festival opening film.  Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhang Ziyi walked 
the red carpet hand in hand as they were welcomed with cheers and 
applause.  Although Wai Jai was a international film festival frequent 
guest, actually this was his first time at the Berlin Film Festival.  At 
the opening ceremony, the host compared Wong Kar Wai's movies to women 
who made people fall for them unknowingly.  She even jokingly asked Wong 
Kar Wai, "If THE GRANDMASTERS is a woman too, would you be willing to go 
to Wushan with her or let her vanish?"  Wong Kar Wai humorously said, 
"Both feel pretty exciting."
	The film premiered in Berlin and received a 10 minute applause 
after the show.  Wong Kar Wai cut a special "Berlin version" with 20 
differences from the China and Hong Kong version.  The film was about 10 
minutes shorter.  Because some foreign media did not understand the 
historical backdrop, some reviews said that it "cannot surpass IN THE 
MOOD FOR LOVE (FA YEUNG NIN WA)".
	The Berlin Film Festival version of THE GRANDMASTERS mainly added 
3 important scenes and some subtitles that explained the historical 
background.  Some of the subplots with unclear relationship to the main 
plot were removed or replaced.  The most primary addition that was not 
in the China and Hong Kong version was how Chang Chen's Yi Xiantian and 
Zhang Ziyi's Gong Er met and their relationship.  After Gong Er saved 
Yi Xiantian on the train, they later ran into each other at a Hong Kong 
restaurant named Old Muslim but did not acknowledge each other.  Their 
reunion gave Yi Xiantian the motivation to stay in Hong Kong, which was 
easier to comprehend for the audience.
	Another addition was the rainy night fight scene at the opening 
with Ip Man and Yi Xiantian.  The story became more intense and made 
people's blood boiled.  This scene caught Gong Yutian's eyes.  He praised 
Ip Man's kung fu abilities and after asking others he learned that the 
fighter was the Invincible in Foshan Ip Man.  Other addition scenes 
included a young Bruce Lee staring at Ip Man from the school, IP Man 
teaching Bruce Lee martial arts and Ip man's ferocious fight with Cung 
Le.  Ip Man's challenge in Hong Kong to Ding Lianshan (Zhao Benshan) was 
removed.
	Leung Chiu Wai did not feel that his scenes were removed, the 
most important was for the audience to accept the pace of the story.  "I 
don't mind the changes in the different versions, the most important is 
for the story to make sense."  Although Wong Kar Wai earlier was busy 
with THE GRANDMASTERS promotion, in a short month he was able to make  
even better changes.  The mastery of his craft truly left people 
speechless.

* (2013/02/09) A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, HOTEL DELUXE (BAK SING JAU DIM), 
JOURNEY TO THE WEST (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN), I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 
NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) opened to welcome the Lunar New Year two 
days ago.  The 3 Hong Kong comedies were no match for Bruce Willis, as 
GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD defeated them at the opening day box office and the 
cumulative box office with the late shows and advanced screenings.  A GOOD 
DAY TO DIE HARD accumulated HK$1.76 million, JOURNEY made 1.72 million 
and lost by a nose.
	In the past comedies ruled the Lunar New Year slot.  Few action 
films were released because they were considered unlucky.  However the 
Bruce Willis starred A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD chose to face 3 Hong Kong films 
at the Lunar New Year slot.  The opponents included the box office 
guarantee Stephen Chow Sing Chi's JOURNEY TO THE WEST, comedy actor 
ensemble Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Teresa Mo Shun Kwan, 
Chapman To Man Jat, Jim Chim Shui Man and Raymond Wong Pak Ming's HOTEL 
DELUXE, and the comeback of Veronica Yip Yuk Hing with Alan Tam Wing Lun 
and Eric Tsang Chi Wai, I LOVE HONG KONG 2013.  Perhaps viewers have 
grown tired of the ensemble comedies as HOTEL DELUXE and I LOVE HONG KONG 
2013 only had average box office.  The former opened with 720,000 while 
the latter only had 340,000.  However, HOTEL DELUXE opened in the 
Mainland on February 1 and already made over 44 million yuan RMB over 7 
days.
	Perhaps because Sing Yeh only directed and not starred, JOURNEY 
TO THE WEST opened with only 990,000.  With the late shows and advanced 
screenings the cumulative box office was 1.72 million.  It was unable to 
match his previous film CJ7's over 3 million opening.  With the Lunar 
New Year holiday on the way, we shall see if Sing Yeh will be able to 
overtake the foreign competition.  JOURNEY will open nationwide tomorrow.  
Some estimated that its Mainland box office will head for 1 billion yuan 
RMB.

* (2013/02/09) Wai Ying Hung as the Emperor Motion Picture elder met 
with Jonathan Wong Chi Hin, Bonnie Xian (Sin Sik Lai) and Lai Tinki for 
Lunar New Year hot pot casserole.  Siu Hung not only shared with her 
junior colleagues her acting experience but also gave them lai see to 
wish them a smooth New Year.
	Siu Hung said that in the Year of the Snake she will be busy with 
work but has already allocated 5 figures for lai see for family and the 
crew.  She will also prepare for new challenges in film, as she will work 
on the new film that AT THE END OF DAYBREAK (SUM MOR) director Ho Yuhang 
spent two years to write the script for.  She even stated that this film 
will be her final action film, thus it will be the movie with the most 
powerful fights for her.  After this film she probably would not dare to 
make another action film.  She revealed that in the film she will fight 
Korean style and have torture scenes.  Thus before the shot she will 
spend a month on weight training to prepare.
	Last year the passing of Siu Hung's brother Austin Wai Tin Chi 
was the most heartbreaking, she admitted that after that her state of 
mind has completely changed and her point of view on everything was no 
longer the same.  "I used to risk everything at work, then I saw Brother 
who kept working in the Mainland in recent years without returning to Hong 
Kong.  He worked alone everyday away from home, made money but didn't 
have time to spend it, got sick but didn't know about it.  He passed just 
like that without probably enjoying it.  Thinking back I was working for 
over 11 months a year, sometimes I too felt lonely and pitiful outside.  
So what if I had money?  Now I realized that I had little aches and 
pain, I might as well relax and rest a little.  At home with mother I am 
not as lonely, it's better than living alone at the hotel.  Now I started 
to feel the importance of having a home."
	Siu Hung gave special advice to her junior colleagues, saying 
the most important thing for an actor to have was wider field of vision.  
There is no acting to speak of because all acting comes from life 
experience.  The more they see and encounter, the more will come out 
when they need it.  However some were truly too nice.  Thus she often 
told the younger generation to be a little bad and not to be introverted 
at all.  They could not learn acting just from watching television and 
movies.  They had to have their own life experience.  Thus many actors 
acted better as they aged.

* (2013/02/08) The 49 year old Donnie Yen Chi Tan recently has become 
addicted to action films and often challenged dangerous scenes.  He 
recently worked on the HK$200 million film THE ICEMAN COMETH 3D (BING 
FUNG HUP 3D).  Yesterday morning Chi Tan was on top of a moving double 
decker bus on the road.  For the effect to be realistic, Chi Tan 
personally performed the stunt.  The film company insured him for 100 
million just in case.
	The film company received permission to block one lane for the 
production from 11PM two nights ago to the next morning.  Action director 
and actor Chi Tan before the shoot was very cautious and kept studying 
with the team.
	Chi Tan in the story due to an accident went from the past to the 
present but lost the memory in between.  Chi Tan in order to find the 
source investigated the buses with the same advertisement and bus routes 
in hopes of returning to his world.  Thus Chi Tan stood on a moving 
double decker bus.
	Before the shoot the crew put a long ladder on the front of the 
bus for Chi Tan to climb on.  Then workers pulled him to the top of the 
bus and Chi Tan put on wires, so he would be able to maintain balance 
when the bus moved.
	The shoot took place in the middle of the night, the highway was 
very empty and windy.  Being on top of the bus was also very dangerous 
for Chi Tan, but for realism he insisted on personally performing.  For 
this scene alone, it had to be shot from different angles four times and 
Chi Tan did not complain at all.  The crew also showed the playback to 
Chi Tan on top of the bus and communicated fully.
	Although the film company bought insurance for Chi Tan, doubles 
still took care of stunts that were too dangerous while Chi Tan directed 
from the sideline.
	When the bus was move, the stunt double had to jump over a street 
lamp then dragged by the wires to the overpass.  Chi Tan was very 
demanding with the double and directed the entire process.  Unfortunately 
after over a hour he still was not too satisfied.  Finally he first sent 
the double home then Chi Tan shot the scene himself.
	The film is already 1/3 completed.  Later the team will fly to 
Changbai Mountain for actual snow scenes and stay for around two weeks.  
The film depending on the post production would be released during 
Christmas or next Lunar New Year at the soonest.

* (2013/02/08) The Mainland has always banned ghost films, many Hong Kong 
companies in order to accommodate the Mainland market could only give up 
making them.  Thus in recent years ghost films are almost extinct in 
Hong Kong.  Yet in June, Nick Cheung Ka Fai plans to direct for the first 
time and star in a ghost film SUN GUNG HEI (GOD DEED PLAY) with Annie Liu 
(Lau Sum Yau) and Angelababy.  Because this film will abandon the Mainland 
market, Ka Fai was willing to reduce his salary in half to star in order 
to fulfill his dream of directing.
	Since starting in 1986, Best Actor Cheung Ka Fai has always 
wanted to start his own production company and make movies that he liked.  
Most recently he has a ghost story SUN GUNG HEI on his hands.  It is so 
terrifying that according to the Mainland inspection system the film 
will not possibly be released in the Mainland.  Thus finding an investor 
was more difficult.  Ka Fai finally found support from a company.  In 
order to control costs, he was even willing to reduce his salary.
	Ka Fai said, "Hong Kong at its peak, action, comedy and ghost 
films were parts of mainstream films, but in recent years because the 
Mainland banned ghost films, Hong Kong companies in order to accommodate 
the Mainland market were unwilling to invest in ghost films.  When they 
did they were forced to say the lead was dreaming in the end or had 
mental disorder or hallucination.  Ghosts films then became subpar.  I 
have to make a solid and terrifying ghost films so viewers would have fun 
watching it."
	Directing this time was completely coincidental for Ka Fai.  
"Originally a company wanted me to make an action film, but I thought 
it wasn't innovative and suggested making a ghost film.  Investors would 
say that ghost films have no Mainland market.  Unless I can direct and 
star and control the budget within 10 million, he won't invest.  I knew 
in order to make this happen I had to make the sacrifice.  I agreed and 
was even willing to take a drastic pay cut.  Finally we took care of 
the financing problem."
	The film's female leads might be Angelababy and Lau Sum yau.  If 
confirmed, they might have to study Beijing Opera.  Ka Fai said, "For a 
pure Hong Kong film, female leads of course have to be our own.  In 
recent years co-production films all have Mainland actresses, Hong Kong 
will soon have no female star.  I of course have to support Hong Kong 
female stars!"

* (2013/02/08) The 32nd Hong Kong Film Awards disqualified LOVE IN THE 
BUFF (CHUN GIU YU JI MING)'s Lam Siu Ha, whose ugly girl Brenda 
performance in deed was outstanding.  However earlier she already 
appeared in LOVE IN A PUFF (JI MING YU CHUN GIU) so she was not considered 
a New Performer.  
	Yesterday the event stated that LAN KWAI FONG 2 (HEI OI YEH PO 
2)'s Sammy Sum Chun Hin received the replacement Best New Performer 
nomination.  Sum Chun Hi actually already performed in the film LA 
COMEDIE HUMAINE (YUN GAN HEI KET) four years ago.  In the film he was 
sunbathing and even had lines.  In the end credit he was credited with 
the role of beach guy.  He obviously did not qualify either.

* (2013/02/08) The Hong Kong Film Critic Association recently selected 
top ten Chinese and foreign films of 2012.  The top ten Chinese films 
included 1942, VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET), GF*BF, A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH 
JEH), LOVE IN THE BUFF (CHUN GIU YU JI MING), COLD WAR (HONG JIN), 
DIN TAO: LEADER OF THE PARADE, GO GRANDRIDERS, FLOWERS OF WAR, and 
10+10.  The top ten foreign films included the Ang Lee directed LIFE OF 
PI, THE LADY, THE INTOUCHABLES, SKYFALL, THE ARTIST, LES MISERABLES, 
HUGO, ARGO, I WISH and A SEPARATION.

* (2012/03/08) Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Raymond Wong Pak Ming have worked 
together on many Lunar New Year films.  This year they again teamed up 
on the Lunar New Year film HOTEL DELUXE (BAK SING JAU DIM) with Chapman 
To Man Jat, Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Eric Kot Man Fai, Fiona Sit Hoi Kei 
and others.  Kwan Yu in the 1992 ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL (GA YAU HEI SI) 
played Wong Pak Ming's wife memorably, but in the Lunar New Year films 
afterward he "changed".  "(Mini) Yang Mi caught his eye, in ALL'S WELL 
ENDS WELL 2012 (BAK SING PO HEI) he wanted to play a couple with Yang 
Mi.  They weren't able to become a couple, so he went for playing father 
and daughter.  Now he finally learns how good I am, this year no matter 
what he wants me back, haha!"
	This time Kwan Yu played a hotel maid and was not a pair with Wong 
Pak Ming.  She said, "Actually Boss Wong gave me character choices, but I 
liked characters that others bullied.  The audience wouldn't laugh until 
we are being tortured."  After years of working together, Kwan Yu pointed 
out that the salary was reasonable.  "I grew up working with him, we have 
a relationship so I wouldn't ask for too much.  I didn't expect for him 
to shake my hand at my opening price, I really regret that I didn't open 
with a higher price!"
	Kwan Yu has reigned among the Lunar New Year actresses for years 
to become the highest grossing Lunar New Year female star.  She said, 
"Wong Pak Ming's ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL film series was too memorable.  
For several years film was not doing well and no Lunar New Year film was 
made, then after ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2009 he asked me to work together 
until now.  I rely completely on Wong Pak Ming's confidence on Lunar New 
year films."
	This year Stephen Chow Sing Chi joined the Lunar New Year fray, 
which was good for viewers.  Kwan Yu said, "They have pretty girl Shu Qi, 
we have (Karena) Ng Chin Yu, Sit Hoi Kei and me, pretty girl of every 
age group are in it.  We even have all the top Hong Kong comedy actors 
so we are very confident."  Wong Pak Ming said that thriving Chinese 
films was good for everyone.  "Chow Sing Chi is only working behind the 
camera, I am not worried about splitting the box office.  Every year we 
have an audience and box office base."

* (2013/02/08) After 6 years, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Shawn Yue Man 
Lok again worked together on the Derek Kwok Chi Kin directed Emperor 
Motion Picture SPECIAL RESCUE HEROES (DUT JUNG GAU WOON YING HUNG, 
tentative title).  After almost two months in production, the film was 
finally completed.  Twi nights ago Emperor had a celebration for the cast 
and the crew.  Because the film was about fire fighters, Ting Fung and Ah 
Lok during the shoot were very in character.  Director Kwok Chi Kin said 
that they were tortured for almost two months, finally they could breathe 
a sigh of relief.  Boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing and president Albert Lee 
also gave lai see to the team in advance for the Lunar New year.
	The Kwok Chi Kin directed, Tse Ting Fung, Yue Man Lok, Simon Yam 
Tat Wa, Hu Jun, Andy Tien (On Chi Kit), William Chan Wai Ting, Bai Bing 
and others starred SPECIAL RESCUE HEROES after more than two months in 
production finally wrapped two nights ago.  Emperor Motion Pictures had 
a 15 table wrap banquet for the cast and the crew.  Ting Fung, Ah Lok, 
Brother Wah and other key actors attended.  Emperor Group chair Yeung 
Sau Sing even personally attended to show his support.  Kwon Chi Kin said 
that after two months of tough production, everyone was willing to "be 
tortured".  He truly appreciated everyone's support.  He said, "This 
movie has truly been hard on Ting Fung and Lok Jai.  In addition, only 
Brother Wa could play his character with that charm.  Many people said to 
me that they wanted to be Brother Wa's subordinate."  Later the director 
continued to thank each and every worker.  To show his support, boss 
Yeung Sau Sing and president Albert Lee even gave the team lai see in 
advance for an early Lunar New Year.
	During the shoot, Lok Jai and others posted photos online to 
share with everyone the production results during their free time.  He 
earlier posted a photo with Ting Fung and said, "After 5 or 6 years 
without working together, in 2013 we are together again, are you looking 
forward to it?"  Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) jealously said, "Why doesn't 
Mr. Yue mention me?"  Earlier they met for dinner and Ting Fung's father 
Patrick Tse Yin also attended.

* (2013/02/08) The 63rd Berlin Film Festival officially opened yesterday.  
Although among the 19 films that compete for the highest honor Golden 
Bear prize, none is Chinese film; luckily the Wong Kar wai directed, Tony 
Leung Chiu Wai and Zhang Ziyi starred THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) 
is the opening film.  Big Director Wong is even the jury chair.  
Yesterday morning he led American actor Tim Robbins and the jury to meet 
the media.  In the afternoon he host THE GRANDMASTERS press conference.
	Although THE GRANDMASTERS has been in release in China, Hong Kong 
and Taiwan for a long time and its Mainland box office even exceeded 290 
million yuan RMB for a new Wong Kar Wai personal record, to Berlin film 
viewers it is still full of mystery.  The premiere ticket was hard to 
come by, the remaining 3 shows have already sold out in 1 hour.
	In order to take care of the overseas (especially European) market 
needs, Wong Kar Wai earlier stayed in the Bangkok editing room to remove 
13 minutes from THE GRANDMASTERS' original 130 minutes to the less than 
2 hour International Version.  Reportedly the story structure also was 
adjusted slightly.  "The pace is even more intense and the feeling is 
even more mature."
	Actually, Wong Kar Wai has a deep relationship with the Berlin 
Film Festival.  The 1991 DAYS OF BEING WILD (AH FEI JING JUEN) and the 
1996 FALLEN ANGELS (DOR LOK TIN SI) both participated in the festival and 
won European and American film critic word of mouth.  This year he is 
invited to be the jury chair.  Yesterday on the eve of the opening 
ceremony Wong Kar Wai led 6 jury members including 1942's star Tim 
Robbins, Oscar Best Foreign Film IN A BETTER WORLD's Danish director 
Susanne Beir, Venice Silver Lion prize winning Iranian director Shirin 
Neshat and others to meet the media and kicked off the 11 day long film 
festival.
	Another with a Berlin connection was Zhang Ziyi.  Her films THE 
ROAD HOME, HERO and FOREVER ENTHRALLED appeared there.  Two days ago THE 
GRANDMASTERS just completed its Paris promotion and headed to Berlin at 
night.  Tomorrow will be Zhang Ziyi's 34th birthday.  4 years ago she 
celebrated her birthday in Berlin.  
	The international film festival frequent guest Tony Leung Chiu 
Wai was ailing when he met up with Zhang Ziyi in Paris, then they walked 
the red carpet in Berlin.  Luckily his mother tag along, even though he 
was overseas for this Lunar New Year he would not feel too bad.  

* (2013/02/08) Rose Chan Ka Wun and Philip Ng Won Lung yesterday promoted 
their new film THE PRINCESS AND THE SEVEN KUNG FU MASTERS (SIU GUNG JUN 
MO LUM) on Metro Radio.  Once linked to Raymond Lam Fung in rumors, was 
Chan Ka Wun surprised that the always low key Lam Fung took the 
responsibility like a man and revealed his romance with Karena Ng Chin Yu 
to the media?  Chan Ka Wun felt that dating was a happy thing and a good 
thing,.  However when she was linked to Lam Fung she avoided the subject?  
She hesitated and said, "Today let's talk about the movie.  In the film 
Ng Won Lung and I are a public couple.  I take the initiative to get 
close to him.  Finally he is responsible for being with me."
	She avoided talking about Lam Fung, did she want to draw the line 
between them?  Chan Ka Wun denied that and said that because it was 
between them; back then she and Lam Fung were rumored due to everyone's 
choice of word.  It was not real.  Since it happened so long ago, she 
hoped that no one would mention it again.  Ng Won Lung played dumb and 
said that he had no idea what the media or Chan Ka Wun was saying, so he 
had no comment.

* (2013/02/08) The 32nd Hong Kong Film Award due to "Best New Performer" 
nominee Lam Siu Ha (LOVE IN THE BUFF) was discovered to have previously 
competed for the award and thus was disqualified.  Yesterday the event 
announced that LAN KWAI FONG 2's Sammy Sum Chun Hin will take her place 
and compete with COLD WAR's Alex Tsui Ka Kit, THE LAST TYCOON (DAI SEUNG 
HOI)'s Joyce Feng Wenjuan, TAI CHI's Yuan Xiaochao and CZ12's Zhang 
Lanxin.
	Sum Chun Hin happily stated that he did not expect to be 
nominated.  When someone saw his hard work he already profited.  He 
would remain calm, if he won he would treat it as a surprise return; in 
2013 he will still focus on developing in film.

* (2013/02/08) Veronica Yip Yuk Hing in her "comeback" Lunar New Year 
film I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) played 
Alan Tam Wing Lung's wife.  She would run into "fairy" Eric Tsang Chi 
Wai and cook up a lot of comedy.  Off screen the trio also has comedy 
galore.  Chi Wai revealed that Alan at first asked to kiss Hing Hing and 
roll around in a very narrow space, but in the end the scene was changed; 
Hing Hing danced with Gill Mohindepaul Singh (Kiu Bo Bo) while Alan and 
Ma Tai Lo embraced.
	As for intimate scenes, Hing Hing said, "No kissing.  Although 
Alan and I play a couple, all the bedroom scenes were removed.  I didn't 
ask for that before hand, the story didn't call for it.  We had all 
family ensemble scenes and no love scene.  Why would anyone who works for 
Alan have to have an intimate scene?"  Alan joked, "This time I lose out!  
Chi Wai kept fooling me and said that we had an intimate scene!  Actually 
everyone felt there would be an intimate scene because in my past music 
videos I definitely would kiss the female lead.  At that time TVB was 
very dark, the director would project the story and fantasy onto me and 
assign me to kiss someone.  I had a very tough time making them!"
	Tsang Chi Wai played a fairy.  He joked, "In the film everyone is 
human, only I am not.  The costume looked like BORAT.  Before the shoot 
we suggested what Hong Kong needed and thought that Hong Kong needed a 
fairy to come to its rescue, because it had too many grievances."
	Hing Hing thought that she did not have enough screen time this 
time and was unable to thoroughly relieve her acting bug.  However she 
did not want to fight for more screen time, only that since she rarely 
returned to Hong Kong to make a movie she wanted the audience to see 
more.  Would she keep on making movies?  Hing Hing said, "If I didn't 
have children, I would without any consideration; but now with a family I 
would have to think it through first.  I of course have an acting bug and 
said that I wanted to make a series.  However if I would have to work 
night and day I would want to die."  Has she thought about who her 
series co-stars would be?  Hing Hing said, "(Tony) Leung Ka Fai would be 
a pretty good co-star, we worked on a movie A ROOF WITH A VIEW (TIN TOI 
DIK YUET GUONG).  Even though earlier Hubby already told me not to act 
anymore......"
	Hing Hing admitted that the production process was very pleasant 
and she was even able to visit her mother.  She felt the entire matter 
was very fulfilling.  "On the night that Mommy left I had a funny scene 
to make.  I wanted to visit her after the night shoot.  Originally I 
remembered the lines very smoothly, but suddenly I had over ten bad takes 
and felt some uneasiness.  The next day I planned to take a nap before 
visiting her, my sister called and said that Mommy has stopped breathing 
but her heart was still breathing.  Mommy's passing was considered as 
happy mourning, but this time I came back to make a happy comedy.  I 
didn't want anyone to know, the best was to pretend nothing happened so 
my husband would know that I really was working and my daughter would 
experience how not to mix life and work.  If I could go back and change 
something, I would ask to stop the production temporarily."  Chi Wai 
praised Hing Hing as a strong woman.  "At the time no one knew what 
happened, I admired her very much for being able to continue to make a 
comedy."

* (2013/02/07) The 63rd Berlin Film Festival opens tonight, the Wong Kar 
Wai directed THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) will open the event.  The 
film's leads Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhang Ziyi yesterday morning already 
flew from Paris for Berlin in preparation for the film festival opening.
	The film's international version has 8 less minutes than the 
China and Hong Kong version of 130 minutes, but Wai Jai's role only 
increased.  Two major scenes like Wai Jai's fight with Cung Le and Bruce 
Lee's childhood meeting with Ip Man would appear in the international 
version!  Wai Jai said, "I never thought that my role was less in the 
Mainland version, so I don't feel anything too special about the added 
scenes.  Instead I feel some adjustments to the story make it more 
intense!"
	As for the fight scene wing Cung Le, Wai Jai remembered it like 
it was yesterday as he joked that he was already scared off before the 
shoot.  "I already had pressure from working on a fight scene with him.  
Every time I saw him he would ask if I brought any protective gear, which 
added to my pressure.  As the shoot went on, his martial arts truly were 
very high quality.  He was able to control them at will.  Our 
collaboration was very pleasant."
	Because the international version was shorter, director Wong Kar 
Wai was in depth consideration finally removed some of Zhao Benshan's 
scenes.  Because his role discussed kung fu with metaphors, foreigners 
might not understand.  Thus he could only removed this part.

* (2013/02/07) Joyce Cheng Yun Yi in I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI 
HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) was very aggressive with Michael Tse Tin Wa, not 
only sucking out poison from his toe but also assaulting him with her 
chest and blowing out Tin Wa's crotch.
	Working with Yun Yi for the first time, Tin Wa praised her ample 
comedy sense.  "She was totally willing to do whatever the director 
asked, for comedy she scored 80 points.  The other 20 points would depend 
on her finding a sense of comedy.  I feel she has a lot of potential and 
absolutely has Fei Jeh (Lydian Shum Din Ha)'s DNA."

* (2013/02/07) Stephen Chow Sing Chi, Shu Qi and Chrissie Chau Sau Na 
two nights ago attended the JOURNEY TO THE WEST (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN) 
premiere.  Shu Qi denied that she and Stephen Fung Tak Lun were secretly 
married in the U.S.  Sing Yeh denied that he was at odds with co-director 
Derek Kwok Chi Kin.  He pointed out that he had so many to worry about 
that he did not have time to be at odds.  Shu Qi and Sister Na said that 
on the set they did not sense any unpleasantness between Sing Yeh and 
Kwok Chi Kin.
	Shu Qi and Fung Tak Lun were rumored to be secretly married in 
the U.S.  Shu Qi was asked if it was true.  She sarcastically said, "Yes!  
We even had two sons, when you have time you can go to the U.S. and 
investigate."  Was she upset about the rumor?  She said, "Not much to be 
upset about, it's pretty interesting."  Were she and Fung Tak Lun dating 
or already married?  She said, "I am going back to talk about the movie 
today, in the movie I am a good girl."  Sing Yeh hoped that Shu Qi would 
give him more opportunities for them to be together.  Shu Qi said that 
Sing Yeh did not give her any time.  She even whined, "Earlier when I 
asked you to dinner you said you had to edit the film.  For the Lunar New 
Year you said you would go overseas."  Was Sing Yeh one of her boyfriend 
choices?  She said, "Of course."  Sing Yeh asked her what was good about 
him.  She said, "Humorous, talented, cute, the idol of many, he is beyond 
my reach."
	Once Sing Yeh's rumored girlfriend, Luisa Lai Chi San said that 
Sing Yeh while promoting in the Mainland kissed Shu Qi.  Thus he had to 
be fair at the Hong Kong premiere as well.  Shu Qi immediately pretended 
to kiss and wipe her mouth, then per reporters' requests, Sing Yeh kissed 
Shu Qi twice and made Shu Qi blush.
	When asked whether Shu Qi and Fung Tak Lun's rumored secret 
marriage was a big setback for him, Sing Yeh said, "I really don't know.  
When you ask this I too am stunned a little."  He was rumored to be at 
odds with another director Kwok Chi Kin.  Sing Yeh hesitated and said, 
"No, don't ask me, ask Kwok Chi Kin.  I was very busy with a lot during 
the shoot, I didn't even have time to be at odds!"  Shu Qi and Sister Na 
did not sense that they were at odds and said that the set was very 
harmonious.  Shu Qi even said, "When gossip news is treated as a serious 
problem, constant clarification is quite a bother!"  As for Tin Kai Man 
calling Sing Yeh cheap, only giving him a tee shirt after knowing him 
for such a long time and even asking him to take Sing Yeh and others to 
the movies in return, Sing Yeh played dumb and said, "Where did you hear 
that from, I don't remember anymore.  Ask Tin Gai, I really don't know."  
	Sister Na dressed conservatively and denied that she was 
forfeiting.  She said that Shu Qi was the sexy goddess of her heart, she 
could only be the water snake next to Shu Qi.  She even revealed that 
Sing Yeh gave her the nickname "Pineapple Bun", crispy on the outside 
and soft on the inside.  However Sing Yeh did not pursue her.  Sister 
Na joked, "If he was after someone it wouldn't be me!"
	Tin Kin Man who was rumored to be at odds with Sing Yeh appeared 
in support.  The recovering Cheung Tat Ming attended with his wife and 
son.  He said that he was still not completely cured, but the toxin has 
reached zero.  His right arm was still less mobile than before, as he 
awaited for the nerves to grow anew.

* (2013/02/07) Angelababy, Michelle Chen and Ko Chen-Tung two nights ago 
attended their new film TOGETHER (JOI YUT HEI) premiere.  Two goddesses 
shared their production experience with the audience; Baby said that in 
the film she played a gold worshipping woman, for which she studied the 
behavior of friends around her.  She even felt that being able to afford 
to worship gold was a honor.  Did she become addicted to gold 
worshiping?  She said, "When the movie was done I was already able to 
leave the character."
	Two goddesses in the Lunar New Year were both invited to attend 
the New York Fashion Week.  baby said that she would spend Valentine's 
Day with her boyfriend Huang Xiaoming and did not have time to buy him a 
gift.  Would she like him to fly to New York to surprise her?  She said, 
"He definitely won't!  Although I like to be surprised, work still comes 
first."  Michelle Chen immediately rescued her and said that this year 
she and Baby would spend Valentine's Day together.  She could be her 
boyfriend and even joked that they together were already a huge 
surprise.
	Ko Chen-Tung said that he would spend the Lunar New Year and 
Valentine's Day with family in India and that girlfriend Elva Hsiao (Siu 
Ah Hin) would not tag along.  He would not buy any gift either.  Speaking 
of him saying in an interview that Siu Ah Hin would not always be his 
girlfriend, was she upset?  He said, "She would not be upset over such 
absurd news, maybe something was lost in the relay."  He still refused to 
admit that she would always be his woman.

* (2013/02/07) Fiona Sit Hoi Kei, Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Teresa Mo Shun 
Kwan recently were busy with their Lunar New Year film HOTEL DELUXE (BAK 
SING JAU DIM)'s promotions in the Mainland, but yesterday fog affected 
flights to Chengdu and the promotions there were forced to be cancelled.  
However, alternative ways of promotion still appeared online.  Yesterday 
someone posted a parody of Cheng Chung Kei and Sit Hoi Kei's wedding 
photo in the film and replaced Cheng Chung Kei's head with Khalil Fong 
Datong's.  Cheng Chung Kei cracked up when he saw the photo and 
transmitted it again with Vincent Kok Tak Siu, complimenting the online 
creativity.

* (2013/02/07) The Lunar New Year film BETTER AND BETTER held its Beijing 
premiere.  Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Bowie Lam Bo Yi 
attended.  Sing Sing first imitated Michael Jackson then danced Psy's 
Gangnam Style.  Sing Sing in the film played a foreman and was described 
that the coolest and the best dancing foreman in history.  Sing Sing said 
that he has always wanted to make a comedy, now his dream has come true.  
During the shoot Sing Sing had to dance a lot but he had no pressure.  
Every one of his dance scene shoot would attract a crowd.  Director Zhang 
Yibai created a comic book image poster for the 12 key actors.  Like the 
Lunar New Year's Even dinner he described each person's personality as 
dishes like the "Red Roasted Aaron Kwok", "Ginger Sandra Ng", "Kung Po 
Tony Leung Ka Fai" and "Fresh Xu Jinglei".

* (2013/02/07) TVB taped its Lunar New Year program two nights ago at 
Tseung Kwan O Television City, Liza Wong Ming Chuen, Carol Cheng Yui Ling 
and Eric Tsang Chi Wai were the hosts.  Alan Tam Wing Lun, Veronica Yip 
Yuk Hing, George Lam Chi Cheung, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Vivian Chow Wai Man, 
G.E.M., Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Joyce Cheng Yun Yi and Nat Chan Pak Cheung 
performed.  A singer under the Universal label, Alan originally should 
not be able to perform on TVB due to the four major record label and 
TVB's royalty dispute.  Yet when Ah Lam performed a mix and sang Alan's 
hit LOVE TRAP, Alan's singing bug acted up as he screamed, "Who cared!"  
He grabbed a microphone and sang, temporarily tossing aside the four 
major record label's issue.
	Alan along with his Lunar New Year film I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 
(2013 NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI)'s Hing Hing, Chi Wai, Ah Lek, Tsui 
Tsz Shan, Cheng Yun Yi performed a comedy skit.  Hing Hing performed her 
hit and remained as sharp as ever.  She danced around Alan and won the 
applause of the audience.  When Alan helped Hing Hing like a gentleman, 
Chi Wai pulled away his chair.  Alan joked, "Do you want me to trip?  Be 
careful, you still have a lawsuit."  When the actors made Lunar New Year 
greetings to the audience, Tsui Tsz Shan wished for everyone to "find a 
sucker".  Ah Lek joked, "You are looking everywhere!"  Actually Tsz Shan 
wanted to wish for everyone to find matching husband or wife.
	The entire program taping was less than smooth.  Aside from the 
one hour delay to the start, the scene was chaotic.  Host Do Do read the 
Year of the Snake as the Year of the Dragon, "taped broadcast" as "live 
broadcast".  When Chi Wai explained the prize giving game, he omitted 
that only Hong Kong viewers could participate.  He made Wang Ming Chuen 
have several bad takes, even Chi Wai himself was a little frustrated.  
The elegantly dressed Do Do had red lipstick on her teeth.  Joey caught 
it and reminded her. Do Do actually publicly rubbed her teeth with her 
finger.
	Hing Hing in her interview mentioned that she has been away from 
the stage for 17 years.  She was nervous before hand and was afraid of 
forgetting her lyrics, she made up for it with lip synching; her daughter 
daydreamed when she watched her performance for the first time.  
Normally she did not like to sing or perform so she had little luck with 
this circle.  Hing Hing yesterday returned to the U.S. with her daughter.  
Before leaving Chi Wai still invited her back to make a television 
series.  Hing Hing said, "When I go back I would chat with my husband, 
then reply to Chi Wai on the Lunar 7th or 8th.  The chance is slim."
	Another 45 year old like Hing Hing, Chow Wai Man recently became 
the State Council assigned popular singer representative.  During the 
Lunar New Year she will head to France for an exchange but her husband 
Joe Ngai Chun would not tag along.  They do not have the habit to 
celebrate Valentine's Day, as they valued wedding anniversary and when 
they met more.  She said, "January 5 will be our 4th wedding anniversary, 
we will celebrate with dinner and small gifts.  I would already feel 
very warm and grateful."
	Jenny Tseng (Yun Nei) called G.E.M. impolite.  Now when she saw 
elder Do Do she would greet her at every turn and take photos.  She 
said, "Sister Do has been very friendly at every turn, we don't have any 
gap and chat very happily."  She admitted that she has never been 
impolite and did not understand why she and Yun Nei would have the 
misunderstanding.  She looked forward to breaking the ice. "The Year of 
The Snake will be a new beginning. I hope for good results this year.  I 
have already designed how to greet her when we will meet."

SILLY STARS VS. FAT KOK

	In terms of comedy, even if Sandra Ng Kwan Yu has not reached 
the Grand Master level she is still an absolute classic.  Her hairy 
turn in ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL still easily comes to mind; calling Ronald 
Cheng Chung Kei as comedy genius is more than apt, T-Rex in a dozen or 
so minute performance earned him a Golden Horse Best Supporting Actor 
award.  They work together again in the Raymond Wong Pak Ming produced, 
Vincent Kok Tak Siu directed Lunar New Year film HOTEL DELUXE (BAK SING 
JAU DIM) again with Teresa Mo Shun Kwan, Jim Chim Shui Man, Fiona Sit Hoi 
Kei and others, no wonder Kok Tak Siu said that the best comedy actors 
are all in one film.  However he also complains, "They are all silly, on 
the set controlling them is impossible!" - MAN KWOK CHUN

Now In Release
	In recent years the Lunar New Year Hong Kong film war has been 
between Eric Tsang Chi wai and wong Pak Ming.  They are on even par on 
the war of words, but in terms of Hong Kong box office Wong Pak Ming has 
never won in three years.  This year he asks his good friend Kok Tak 
Siu to direct a Lunar New Year film for him again after ALL'S WELL ENDS 
WELL 2009 (GA YAU HEI SI 2009).  As of yesterday he leads Chi Wai's I 
LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) at the box 
office.  Earlier Kok Tak Siu led Ng Kwan Yu and Cheng Chung Kei to 
promote their new film HOTEL DELUXE

Numerous Ensemble Scenes, Easily Lost Control
	Actually the annual Lunar New Year film subject has worn out its 
welcome long ago, how did Fat Kok come up with hotel as a subject?  Fat 
Kok said that the entire matter "started with someone".  He said, 
"Actually as soon as I took this movie, my first idea was finding people.  
The cast was the most important, so I found who I felt were the best 
comedy actors now like Cheng Chung Kei, Ng Kwan Yu, Mo Shun Kwan and Jim 
Chim Shui Man.  Then I thought how I could imprison this group of people, 
so I thought of using a hotel as the subject to imprison them inside.  
Thus this film has more ensemble scenes, always with a group of people."
	Fat Kok even revealed that the comedic stars could not be 
serious at all during the shoot.  "The entire group is silly.  Controlling 
them on the set is impossible.  (Eric) Kot Man Fai at the time had 
abdominal muscles and a lot of energy so he kept bothering me.  I could 
only scare them that if we weren't done then we had to stay for a few 
days.  Then they quieted down and took their places."

Avoid Editing, More Fun
	Fat Kok revealed that this film was not cut at all for Mainland 
inspection and safely passed.  He said, "I will keep making comedy, but 
I hope a theme comedy like action or thriller comedy.  However I realize 
that our line can go even lower.  This time I don't have to make any cut 
at all, often we are self inspecting more.  Next time it can be more 
fun."
	Kwan YU in HOTEL played a room service director who is almost 
sick about the tidiness of the rooms.  She revealed that the character 
resembled her own personality.  Kwan Yu said, "Actually I am a little 
control freak and a neat freak.  I know where everything is at home, when 
I ask the maid to bring me something I can clearly tell her which closet 
and which drawer."  Kwan Yu continued to say that when she went overseas 
she definitely would have a bottle of disinfectant alcohol on her.  "I 
saw on 60 MINUTES that the dirtiest in the hotel are the television 
remote controls and the carpets.  They always have stains that you don't 
expect."  After hearing that Fat Kok kept on telling dirty jokes, just a 
simple line already had the three of them laughing nonstop.  Conceivably 
the chemistry on the set should be even better.

Float Like A Ghost, Snapped Neck
	Kwan Yu continued, "Because of the numerous group scenes, 
everyone had a line.  If the one in the end flopped then we had to start 
over again.  Even Sister Mo always told us not to mess with her on the 
set.  Once I flubbed a very simple line several times.  Because a hundred 
people are looking at you say that one line in the hotel, you would be 
pretty nervous."
	Actors often turn directors, did the Hong Kong Film Award and 
Golden Horse Award Best Actress Kwan Yu think about directing or 
producing?  She quickly said, "I really never thought about working 
behind the scene, it's quite a bother and has a lot to take care of.  The 
one at home (Peter Chan Ho Sun) always says facing an actor like me is 
quite a bother.  I say that I have to face a director like him too."  
Although she did not want to step foot behind the scene, Kwan Yu honestly 
said that she wanted to play a prostitute or a mobster again.  "I want to 
play those two types of characters again, I miss them!"
	Last year's Golden Horse Best Supporting Actor, when Ronald made 
HOTEL he did not know he won yet.  Thus he did not have post award 
pressure.  He recalled the production, "In one scene I had to float 
across the hotel ceiling like a ghost, but the worker who tested the spot 
for me was a few inches shorter than me.  When I was hung up there I had 
to adjust my neck the entire time.  My face couldn't be seen.  Who knew 
the result would be even better."

Ronald Cheng Encourages Absenteeism For His Daughter
	HOTEL DELUXE shot on location for a full month in Qiandao Lake, 
Hangzhou.  Cheng Chung Kei said that he could not have missed his 
daughter Emma more, as soonas he had time he would video chat with his 
daughter.  He did not want to miss even a minute.

Kwan Yu Is Afraid of Pressure
	Ronald has an one year old daughter Emma, Kwan Yu has a six year 
old daughter Chan Si Chi.  Kwan Yu admitted that now film is no longer 
her everything, because her daughter has already become her other place 
for sustenance.  She said, "I have to cultivate the successor at home 
in term of knowledge!  Haha!"  
	Ronald revealed that he and Kwan Yu often shared parenthood tips 
on the set.  They also felt that parents now put too much pressure on 
their children.  Kwan Yu said, "Ronald and I on the set of course talked 
about parenthood and schools."  Parents of course wanted their children 
to succeed, thus many children already had to go to pre school before 
age one.  Kwan Yu admitted, "Now many mothers have psychological 
pressure, I have seen parents opened a group on whatsapp to discuss math 
problems.  Everyone have pressure, I always remind myself not to be like 
this."
	Ronald agreed with what Kwan Yu said.  He suggested for his

very close (great)!"  You would always lose control and crack up.  Sing 
Yeh lost control and laughed himself, which was also in the shot.  A
SHAOLIN kung fu Karaoke crossover?  Who says it wouldn't work!

2. FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE: Solar Powered Flashlight
	Man Sai (Law Kar Ying) is a great inventor, his solar powered 
flashlight that will light up only when there is light and absolutely 
won't light up without light gives the full score in creative sincerity.  
Of course he also has the Take Your Life 3000 with a cleaver, gun powder 
and sulfuric acid in one bundle, which would make you laugh to death even 
if it doesn't kill you.

3. ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL: Paroxysm
	Who says Sing Yeh has no acting ability?  His interpretation of 
the symptoms of Cerebritis Paroxysm Amnesia is one of the best, 
especially when he portrays nervosity and he keeps screaming, "Who is 
lustful! you are lustful!" while tirelessly slapping himself.  It is so 
great that it makes you cry.

4. FLIRTING SCHOLAR: FOUL LANGUAGE DISTICH
Tong Pak Fu (Sing Yeh) and Chuen Chang (Vincent Kok Tak Siu) cook up a 
family distich that is well structured and foul mouthed.  Tong Pak Fu's 
"your mother personally cook in the kitchen" made Chuen Chang spew ovre 
19 ounces of blood on camera.

5. FIGHT BACK TO SCHOOL: TSANG SIR'S MEMORY
	Caustic Soda Prince Tsang Sir played a chemistry teacher with 
poor memory and kept confusing Chow Sing Sing (Sing Yeh) and Turtle Wong 
(Wong Yat San).  His light and easy portrayal made people laugh from the 
heart.  Tsang Sir is truly missed.

6. GOD OF GAMBLERS 2: FIVE ACES
"Ladies and gentlemen, five aces!"  When Sing Jai first meets Dagger 
Chan (Andy Lau Tak Wa), he as usual tries to stun him.  When he puts out 
five cigarettes from Uncle Tat and pretends to take his way, Wa Jai 
whole heartedly applauds and laughs.

7. GOD OF COOKERY: EXPLOSIVE BEEF BALL
	Brother Kay (Lee Siu Kay) tells his subordinates, "What are you 
fighting for, join us and make explosive beef ball you idiots!"  Bak 
Leung Gum's twitching, Lam Suet's reading his lines wrong, then Sing Yeh 
opens his mouth only to lose out to his yappy voice.

8. TRICKY BRAINS -- HONESTY RED BEAN BUN
	Tricky Bully (Ching Tung) uses the Honesty Red Bean Bun against 
Sing Yeh, making Sing Yeh blur out, "Yuan Mu is very honest, Li Peng is 
the greatest leader."  Actually he accidentally uses the lying red bean 
bun.

9. SHAOLIN SOCCER -- THE ARRIVAL OF EXPLODING
	Born with exceptional bone structure, Exploding (Ho Man Fai) sees 
Sing Yeh singing a folk song and suddenly feels fire igniting within.  
As if he is in a convulsion he shakes like his match like body, even drug 
addicts have their moment of brilliance.

10. GOD OF COOKERY -- LOVE AND HONOR
	Sister Chicken (Karen Mok Man Wai) takes a chop for Sing Yeh with 
her bare hand.  She is all bloodied, without any change in facial 
expression she with her buckteeth sings "Love and honor, worth thousand 
in gold".  Despite how heroic she is, Sing Yeh sees her face and rejects 
her.

11. FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE: EXECUTION
	This firing squad execution scene shows no mercy for Mainland law 
enforcement.  First a blind Wong Yat fei is framed for peeking at 
national secret, then a death row inmate Tang Siu Chuen claims that his 
father is a high rank official to plead for mercy; the most classic is 
Ah Chat bribing the police officer Jerry Koo Ming Wa with 100 bucks for 
his freedom.

12. FIST OF FURY 1991: Lau Jing the John
	Lau Jing (Sing Yeh) first arrives in Hong Kong and Mr. Cool 
(Kenny Bee) tricks him to visit prostitute Chui Siu Ping.  After another 
john hears Lau Jing's self introduction he immediately says, "Wow!  You 
are in such a hurry, you go first!"  

13. CHINESE ODYSSEY PANDORA'S BOX -- BUDDHA
	Director Jeff Lau Chun Wai is good comedy material himself, he as 
Buddha is super hilarious.  Ji Juen Bo (Sing Yeh) thinks he steals his 
grapes and scolds, "You stole my grapes and still you mention my mother?"  
Word play at its best.

14. FORBIDDEN CITY COP: FORBIDDEN CITY SUMMIT
	Four Great Masters' duel at the Forbidden City Summit under Gu 
Long's pen receives an unlawful assembly charge from Ling Ling Fat (Sing 
Yeh).  Ling Ling Fat repeatedly calls them names and flashes the magic 
finger, insulting the Four Great Masters to the point of zero dignity.

15. HAIL THE JUDGE -- EUNUCH TONGUE WAR
	Bao Lung Sing (Sing Yeh) hears Chun Lin (Cheung Man)'s grievance 
case, the observing Lee Lin Ying (Lau Toh) interferes.  Thus he blasts 
the eunuch, "You are pummelo grease marks all over, you deserves to be 
stuck with a stick."  The Eunuch spits blood from all his rage.

16. FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE -- TRICKY GUN
	"Why didn't you tell me you are testing a gun!"  Ah Kam (Anita 
Yuen) tries everything to assassinate Ah Chat.  In both sneak attack 
attempts she ends up hurting herself.  The worst is when she uses the 
tricky gun that fires backward every other time.

17. TRICKY BRAINS: Weird Dance
	Do you know go to the clubs and still remain boss?  Try what Goo 
Jing (Sing Yeh) does.  He in order to win beauty Banana (Chingmy Yau)'s 
smile, on the dance floor he dances the folk dance that he has been 
studying for years.  The place goes silent.

18. KING OF COMEDY -- SUGAR CONE FAI
	Sugar Cone Fai (Cheng Man fai) graduates from the Hong Kong 
University but has no job.  He tries his hands on being in a gang, with 
his sugar cone he collects protection money in front of a temple.  Seeing 
how pitiful he looks when he grabs two knives for dignity, even Brother 
Kay (Lee Siu Kay) is scared of him.

19. OUT OF THE DARK: Druggie Ming
	The film's strongest character is not the female ghost but Druggie 
Ming (Chan Wing Biu).  He as the human shield takes several chops, has 
his wrists cut, is electrocuted and shot several times, but he still 
cannot die.  No wonder he says, "Have mercy and end my life, so I don't 
have to suffer anymore."

20. KING OF COMEDY: DELIVERY BOY
	Wan Tin Sau (Sing Yeh) goes undercover as a delivery boy, finally 
the mob stumps him.  Someone asks him if breakfast can have added items, 
he answers, "For you two more sausages are fine."  Nonsense as usual.

21. FORBIDDEN CITY COP: AH FAT'S FATHER IN LAW
	At the end of the film suddenly an award show breaks out.  Ling 
Ling Fat is certain that he will win the Best Actor, the winner actually 
is Ah Fat's father in law (Poon Hung Sun).  During his speech he even 
reenacts the scene in which he reveals Ah Fat going to the brothel.

22. GOD OF GAMBLERS 2: VIDEO FOOTAGE
	Sing Yeh makes a video to beg God of Gamblers to make him his 
disciple, saying that he has special power.  He only has to rub one ace 
card in his hand to wrinkle the ace card.  Finally Dagger Chan says, 
"nut job".

23. ALL FOR THE WINNER: STUFFS YI MUNG
	Brother Tat wants Sandra Ng Kwan Yu to pretend to be Yi Mung 
and trigger Sing Yeh's special power.  Sing Yeh treats a mark under Kwan 
Yu's arm like Yi Mung, having heart to heart talks with it, wiping its 
sweat, he even feeds it lobster.  How hardcore.

24. FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE: ELECTRIC RAZOR
	Ah Chat deserves to be called "dumb", the mobile phone and the 
blow dryer on him are actually electric razors; as for the razor and his 
leather shoes they are just for cover but actually are blow dryers.

25. GOD OF GAMBLERS 2: THIRD UNCLE
	Brother Tat loses control as soon as he hears Third Uncle and 
twitches.  Lo Yuen Yun falls for Brother Tat and opens up her collar to 
tempt him with her chest.  Finally she has to beg for forgiveness.

26. FIST OF FURY 1991: VIRTUE ROBBERY
	Lau Jing takes a note with "I want your virginity" to rob a 
bank.  In the entire bank only the chubby girl (Law Suet LIng) at window 
9 has it.  She flies over the counter and pushes Lau Jing down hard.

27. CHINESE ODYSSEY PANDORA'S BOX: STOMPING ON LITTLE BROTHER
	Ji Juen Bo is on fire, second butler (Ng Man Tat) sees him in 
trouble, aims at his "little brother" and stomps like mad to put out the 
fire, like evening up years of grievances in one shot.

28. GOD OF GAMBLERS 3: KILLING TING LIK
	Yoshiko Kawashima (Wong Wan Sze) orders Sing Jai to kill Ting 
Lik and even teaches him to use hypnosis to make him hate Ting Lik.  
How intense she looks when she says, "I want to kill that jerk Ting Lik" 
is truly unappetizing.

29. GOD OF COOKERY: Mung Wai Sucks Out Poison
	Sing Yeh accidentally falls off a hill and the thorns wounds and 
poisons him.  When he awakes he finds Shaolin Temple Head Abbott Mung Wai 
(Tats Lau Yi Tat) climbing onto his bed and acting strangely in the name 
of sucking out his poison.  Finally Sing Yeh kicks him off.

30. SHAOLIN SOCCER: Auto Mechanic
	Full time screen writer Fung Min Hung cannot lose when he plays 
a well dressed low life.  In the film he plays an auto mechanic who plays 
in a friendly match against the Shaolin team.  With a wrench in his hand 
he still does not panic.  Later he even makes Wong Yat Fei puts his 
underwear on his head, he cannot be a bigger jerk.

31. GOD OF COOKERY: EIGHTEEN BRONZE MEN FORMATION
	The Shaolin Temple Eighteen Bronze Men formation actually only 
has twelve people.  Everyone is in gold paint and looks vicious.  Whenever 
Sing Yeh sneaks out, the Bronze Men would rise and practice kung fu in 
front as cover.  Behind that they brutally beat Sing Yeh with folding 
chairs.

32. FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE: DIRTY VIDEO THERAPY
	In ancient times Lord Guan played Chinese chess to cure 
poisoning, today Ah Chat watches dirty video while having a bullet 
removed.  He even pushes all the blood into one place to avoid excessive 
blood loss.  Someone online actually found the dirty video lead actress' 
footage.

33. FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE: ATTACKED
	Lee Kin Yan of course is best known for cross dressing!  He as 
the Land Lady can be said as exceptional.  In one scene he suddenly 
kneels down to help remove Ah Jat's pants, making it known that it is 
his turf and 150 bucks for the whole deal.  He is immediately kicked out 
of Regent Motel.

34. ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL: DOUBLE INVERTED EIFFEL TOWER
	Sing Yeh and Maggie Cheung Man Yuk plays with the pottery wheel 
like in GHOST.  Sing Yeh in his super tight jeans is already hilarious.  
Then while the skipping UNCHAINED MELODY is played they go into a double 
inverted Eiffel Tower kissing technique, which is so romantic that it 
makes people dizzy.

35. FLIRGINT SCHOLAR: DISHING GRIEVANCES
	Tong Pak Fu's enemy Madame Fu finds his poetry collection on 
him and immediately raps out Tong Pak Fu's evil deeds.  With a strong 
beat from bowls and dishes, the creativity is as ample as fish eggs 
during mating season.

36. FIGHT BACK TO SCHOOL: ANGRY ERASER TOSS
	Sing Yeh returns to school undercover, everyday he is daydreaming 
and everyday Yuen King Tan's erase awaits him.  As days go by, Sing Yeh 
picks up the secret technique of eraser tossing.  By the end of the film 
he tosses a friendly gun at Roy Cheung Yiu Yeung to subdue him.

37. FLIRTING SCHOLAR: ROASTED CHICKEN WING
	Which song is a must at a barbecue?  The answer is, "roasted 
chicken wing, I like it, but your mother says you will soon die."  Tong 
Pak Fu with his mother (Mimi Choo) pretend to be sick to turn down a 
royal invitation.  In an emergency they keep singings despite the lack 
of verse rhyme.

38. OUT OF THE DARK: COW TEAR
	Leon (Sing Yeh) teaches Lo Hung and other security guards to appl 
cow tears to see ghosts.  The group of idiots keeps on applying the 
bottle of Listerine.  They do not run into ghosts but discover a lady in 
red.  They all touch her chest to pretend to check for a heartbeat and 
take advantage.

39. FORBIDDEN CITY COP: ALIEN AUTOPSY
	Back then alien autopsy was all the rage, the movie also dissects 
an alien.  Vincent Kok Tak Siu stabs Cheung Tat Ming who is dressed like 
an alien.  He immediately jumps up on the autopsy table.  The result is 
hilarious.

40. FLIRTING SCHOLAR: BODY DRAWING
	Tong Pak Fu uses Jook Chi San (Nat Chan Pak Cheung)'s body to 
paint a spread eagle swallows the world painting.  His nipples become 
flowers, palm trees, rear as rocks and his private is an eagle -- an 
eagle's food, the worm!

41. FLIRTING SCHOLAR: RETURN TO BEAUTY PUNCH
	Chau Heung (Gong Li) is hit with fatal scholar (Lau Ka Fai)'s 
Beyond Recognition Kick and becomes unusually ugly.  Tong Pak Fu 
immediately uses the lost art of return to beauty punch and accidentally 
gives Chau Heung an extra pretty chin!

42. GOD OF GAMBLERS 2: ON FIRE
	Sing Yeh uses super power to hypnotize Dajun (Ching Tung), putting 
him into a fantasy.  Dajun in a red robe unconsciously sets himself on 
fire.  His every move is even more beautiful than Gong Li in TERRA COTTA 
WARRIOR.

43. TRICKY BRAINS: I WANT TO BE UPWARD MOBILE
	How may 90s kids are as hard working as Sing Yeh and Wa Jai, who 
out of the blue would sing I WANT TO BE UPWARD MOBILE at the Wanchai 
pier.  Guys in suits join in, today who knows if this song is still being 
sung?

44. FLIRTING SCHOLAR: SIU KEUNG BURIAL
	Tong Pak Fu in order to sneak into the Wa home tries to be more 
pitiful than the man who is selling himself (Joey Leung Wing Chung).  He 
even holds a dead cockroach and says, "I put you through school like my 
own child!"  Siu Keung becomes a nickname for cockroach.

45. FIST OF FURY 1991: SPIT WAR
	Brother Cool (Kenny Bee) and Lau Jing (Sing Yeh) trade blows 
with an elementary school spit war.  They stare at each other seriously 
while making poses, and find covers for their upper bodies as salutes to 
the Wong Fei Hung film series and police films.

46. ROYAL TRAMP: BONE DISSOLVING COTTON PALM
	Eunuch Hoi (Ng Man Tat) loses his mind after the dragon thorn 
pierces him as he repeats Wai Siu Bo (Sing Yeh)'s words and action.  Wai 
Siu Bo then tempts him to resolve the bone dissolving cotton palm poison, 
but Eunuch Hoi says, "Resolve your dick!"

47. GOD OF GAMBLERS 3: ROAST PORK BUN
	Sing Yeh thinks Yu Sin (Gong Li) is not engaged yet and breaks 
into Paula Tsui Siu Fung's ROAST PORK BUN to congratulate.  Then he 
tosses buns back and forth.  Chow Tai Fok dances with a spittoon in a 
moment of pure joy.

48. FORBIDDEN CITY COP: FACELESS KUNG FU
	Faceless King's son (Yuen Shun Yi) knows how to transform his 
face and can turn all he wants, but Ling Ling Fat hits him every time.  
"Hey Big Brother, your big feet are giving you away.  What am I dead?"

49. KUNG FU HUSTLE: CURSED DAGGER
	Ah Chat's Little Lee Flying Dagger is amazing, but in KUNG FU 
HUSTLE Sing Yeh is not as good.  He tries to assassinate the Land Lady 
(Yuen Qiu) with a dagger but it bounces back and hits him instead.  
When Chubby Chung tries it he hits someone else.  What a tragedy.

50. LAWYER LAWYER: CHICKEN LEG IN THE CRACK
	Ho Foon (Eric Kot) is sentenced to death, before his execution 
he hides a chicken leg in the crack for the Indian bailiff Van Dam.  
When Vam Dam sees the chicken leg he takes a good whiff.

  a person in continual exile. Born and raised in wartime China, Nieh
  left China in 1949 for peace in Taipei, and then left for love in 1964
  to the U.S. In 1967, she founded the prestigious International Writing
  Program (IWP) with her late husband, the American poet Paul Engle, in
  Iowa. Nine years later, they were nominated by more than 300 writers for
  the Nobel Peace Prize. IWP has nurtured over 1,400 writers from over 140
  countries, including Nobel Literature Prize winners Orhan Pamuk (My Name
  is Red, Snow), and Mo Yan (Red Sorghum), and other noted writers

  During the early years of the Republic era, in the North-East region of
  China, the people are suffering from the power struggle among the local
  Warlords, bandits, and Japanese invaders. Warlord Lam is not a leader of
  great vision, but having a patriotic heart, stands firm in his own
  beliefs, despite the several solicitations and temptations from Japan. 

  The only ‘paradise’ within the region is ‘Lucky Town’, the one place
  where no one dared to attack. Rumors abound that this place is cursed,
  for whenever anyone attempted to invade Lucky Town, they would disappear
  and vanish without a trace. In reality, there are seven kung fu masters
  who have retreated into the shadows and resided here. They are Manysons
  Madonna and Madonhung, the owners of a steamed bread shop Nam Mor Bing,
  the Taoist priest Horny Four, the tailor Little Trumpet, the cosmetic
  salesman and Mamasan Maggie, the brothel owner. Every one of them is a
  master in his own right, keeping Lucky Town in peace. 

  Lam’s daughter, Cheryl is very fond of culinary arts, and often does
  grocery shopping in Lucky Town. She is pretty and lovely and very much
  favoured by the Seven Masters, especially Horny Four who falls for her
  at first sight and regards her as his dream lover. 

  The Japanese secret agent, Kiyoko Kurosawa, allied with traitors from
  the Tiger’s Den: Tiger Hong, Jaguar Hong and Phoenix Hong, to set up a
  secret outpost to send secret-coded messages back to Japan. Young
  patriots, Yan Fang who disguised herself as a man, and Howard Luo,
  infiltrate Tiger’s Den at night, trying to steal the code book. They
  lose the fight to the Hongs, Howard sacrifices himself to save Yan who
  was wounded.

  On the run, Yan is rescued by Cheryl. Mistaking Yan as a man, Cheryl
  falls for Yan. She then brings Yan to Lucky Town and begs the Seven
  Masters to cure Yan. 

  On the other hand, Warlord Lam saves a pretty lady and grows fond of
  her. This lady is actually Kiyoko Kurosawa in disguise. Using Ninjutsu
  skills, Kiyoko seduces Lam and controls his will. She then organises a
  wedding for Lam and herself, in the hope of becoming the warlord’s wife
  so she can control Lam’s army. On the wedding day, Cheryl and the Seven
  Masters arrive in time to ruin her wedding plans. Lam regains his senses
  finally and unites together with the Seven Masters, to fight against

  Hotel Manager to restructure the hotel. Cruella takes the chance to

indifferent to everything, but he only ends up causing even more trouble. 
After an altercation, troubles become even more intense, leading to a
