Earlier Wa Jai, Terence Yin (Wai Chi Wai) and Kenny Wong Tak Bun worked at Central. The film company blocked off the building's open air square for the location shoot. Wa Jai had injury make up on his face. He shot a chase scene with a gun in his hand. Chin Kar Lok was on hand to direct Wa Jai's action scenes. The always serious Wa Jai after every scene would look at the playback. * (2012/11/14) The Jackie Chan directed and starred film CZ12 invited Emil Chau Wa Kin to sing the trailer theme song. Their previous collaboration was TRUE HEARTED HERO in 1993. The song was based on Chang Chen-Yueh's song with new lyrics about life philosophy. Jackie Chan went to Taiwan for the recording as well as the music video shoot. During the shoot Chau Wa Kin's "lyric forgetting disease" spread to Jackie Chan, the team prepared cue cards so the shoot went smoothly. Jackie Chan said that when he sang TRUE HEARTED HERO with Chau Wa Kin he was able to step foot into the music scene. This song also became his theme song. He finally understood why Chau Wa Kin did not invite him to collaborate for so many years. Jackie Chan joked, "If I keep singing, he will be unemployed!" * (2012/11/14) Fiona Sit Hoi Kei yesterday was a promotional guest for a skincare product and attended a ribbon cutting. Fiona said that she is working on Raymond Wong Pak Ming's Lunar New Year film. Yesterday she took a day off to return to Hong Kong and attend the promotion. Fiona said that in the past she worked on THE FORTUNE BUDDIES (GAING CHAU FUK LUK SAU) but it was not a Lunar New Year film. This year was the first time. Fiona said that her co-stars and the team treated her very well. She said, "While shooting on Qiandao Lake I received Mommy's call. She said that a kitten at home was very sick. I immediately called the director. The director immediately arranged to complete my scenes first so I could rush back to Hong Kong to take the kitten for treatment. I slept with the kitten on the ground one night because the clinic did not have any bed and I couldn't sit on the chair all night." Fiona said that the kitten had heart problem and she would spend more time to take care of it. She said, "I don't know how long it will live, but I will cherish everything around me. I said I won't let myself cry. Sometimes I feel I am getting stronger and stronger. I have to handle a lot of situations, a little like a man." Fiona said that she would properly manage her own emotions and would only let herself cry once over something. As for good friend Denise Ho Wan Si coming out of the closet, Fiona replied, "I am supportive, when you love someone you shouldn't lie. Treating someone with sincerity is very important, in love as well." * (2012/11/14) The William Chan Wai Ting, Irene Wan Bik Ha, Michelle Wai (Si Nga), Patrick Tam Yiu Man, Edward Chui Woai Tung, Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi) starred film TRIAD (JAT JIK) two nights ago held its premiere. Boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing and his wife, Vincy Chan (Wing Yi), Ken Hung Cheuk Lap and others showed their support. William admitted that he was very nervous and said that he already saw the film. He joked that people who did not like Chan Wai Ting should watch it. Was he afraid that his girlfriend Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin's heart would ache? He said that Ah Sa has not seen it yet. Why did he not invite her to the premiere? William said, "Today it's a man's movie, don't bother! If she is interested she can wait until she is not afraid of blood and gore first." William was asked whether he would like to work with Ah Sa on a movie. He admitted that he did not because he did not want his romance to turn into a film gimmick. Thus he will not work with her. He also said that he would like the film to have more than 10 million at the box office. Then he would streak on Temple Street with a bra on. He even joked that he wanted to streak for a long time. Would he patrol only in swimming trunks like Mr. Asia candidates? He said that he was not as cool as they are and he did not need to work out his chest, as the focus was already on his chest. Si Nga appeared in diamond jewelry that was worth millions. She said that it was a company sponsorship. She said that wearing the jewelry truly had blood and tears. She said, "Actually I have always had pierced ears, but they closed up. For the jewelry, this morning I went to get them pierced again. The piercing master reminded me to remove the earrings after two days, otherwise the ears would be infected. Yet because I had to wear the jewelry I couldn't wait. When I removed the earrings blood was still dripping." Si Nga said that her birthday will be coming soon and it would be great for the jewelry to be her birthday present. Her birthday wish would be good box office performance for the film. How will she celebrate? She said that she did not know yet. She might have to work that day. Wan Bik ha two nights ago appeared in a low cut dress. She admitted that she was nervous because she has not had a film release in a long time. She said that her husband came and gave her flowers. She said, "Tonight 60 friends came, so I am nervous." Was she worried that everyone would see her rough look? She said that she was not worried and was not afraid of scaring off her husband. However in the film she had a foul language and a rather extreme scene, in which a different her could be seen. Would she ask her husband for opinion after watching the film? She said that she definitely would. She also said that hopefully a Mainland edition would be made because she had many Mainland fans who wanted to watch it. * (2012/11/14) The Angelababy starred film TAICHI HERO has already broken 100 million yuan this week. This film was also Angelababy's third film that was over 100 million in 2012 along with BLACK AND WHITE: THE DAWN OF ASSAULT and TAICHI ZERO. All three films were the Chinese film box office champions during their runs. Angelababy this time had three of a kind. The three of a king performance surprised Baby. She said that she had a hard time imagining it and then said that now she feels everything during the production was worth it. She described the film production process as giving birth. "Every film production is just giving birth, needing to inject a lot of emotions and labor. Yet whenever the child is born, you would feel everything is worth it!" After 2012, Angelababy admitted that she was "in love with movies" and could not help herself. Currently she rather enjoyed the joy of being an actress. "In film I find new challenges and sense of achievement. I hope to try a variety of characters. I hope to play very different characters, to be able to experience more joy of an actress. It is still a lot of fun." * (2012/11/14) November 13 was Huang Xiaoming's birthday. This year he not only cut a birthday cake with THE GUILLOTINES (HUET DIK JI) director Andrew Lau Wai Keung but also received a very valuable and unique birthday present. His wax figure in THE GUILLOTINES costume was officially unveiled as he became the first Mainland male artist to be on display in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. After seeing the wax figure, he excitedly said, "It truly bares too much resemblance, like a twin brother." He even made a grand birthday wish, "THE GUILLOTINES makes 700 to 800 million at the box office!" Earlier, Madame Tussaud Hong Kong sent high ranking sculptor John Cormican from London to the Mainland and measured Huang Xiaoming for seven hours. He said, "That day I didn't have breakfast as I was afraid to mess up the measurement. I was afraid to even take a drink of water." He even joked that he suffered this time because the karma from THE MESSAGE has arrived. During the measurement, Huang Xiaoming often picked up an "eyeball" to scare people. He joked, "If I am too busy later, I have to rely on the wax figure." He also said that playing the character was like taking drugs. He said, "Before a major scene, I got drunk or locked myself in a room to scream and punch for emotional release." * (2012/11/14) Tony Leung Ka Fai and Aaron Kwok Fu Sing two days ago promoted their film COLD WAR (HONG JIN) in Taiwan. At night they attended the premiere and attracted over 100 fans who screamed nonstop. With an ambiguous relationship in the film, Leung Ka Fai and Kwok Fu Sing two nights ago reprised an important scene that took over 20 takes in the film. Yet they changed their originally sharp tongued lines into comedy. Leung Ka Fai said, "Why can't I watch COLD WAR? It must be because Kwok Fu Sing fans bought all the tickets." Later they could not hold back their laughter any longer. The film's first week of release in Hong Kong already had good performance. Kwok Fu Sing and Leung Ka Fai were again seen as favorites for next year's Best Actor award. Kwok Fu Sing originally did not plan to make this film in order to prepare for his concert in September, but after reading the script he could not let it go. Finally he took the role. Leung Ka Fai played a police officer this time. He said, "Such a film requires a lot of energy. I am very happy to be able to work with Kwok Fu Sing." * (2012/11/13) The film COLD WAR (HONG JIN) held its premiere in Taipei. Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Ka Fai promoted. Over 500 fans showed their support. When Sing Sing appeared the crowd erupted. Fans also booked the entire cinema to support him. Two Best Actors showed their admiration for each other. Sing Sing asked Leung Ka Fai how his acting got so great, Leung Ka Fai jokingly asked him why he could not buy a ticket. "Sing Sing's fans bought all the tickets." COLD WAR's Hong Kong first week box office was over 15 million. Both were excited about the result. Playing Eddie Peng Yu-Yen's father in the film, Leung Ka Fai said, "'Son' is working on a movie in Hong Kong and cannot return to Taiwan to promote." * (2012/11/13) The film LOVE IN TIME (DUT NGOR OI NEI)'s actress Stephy Tang Lai Yun and director For For two nights ago attended an audience appreciation event at a Mongkok cinema. Stephy said that this was her first audience appreciation event for this film, the response from the audience was unexpectedly good. Stephy said, "Many friend called me to tell me that my performance was very funny. This was an unexpected reaction because our performance was not deliberately funny." Stephy said that in the past she rarely made comedy films and she has not been a lead actress in a film for awhile, thus she was particularly nervous about the box office this time. Stephy said that now she is busy with the new film promotion. Director For For is planning a new film with the original team and lead actor will remain Bosco Wong Chung Chak. Stephy said, "Many people said that Wong Chung Chak and I matched a little, he truly looked pleasing but we are not afraid of rumors." Stephy was asked when she and Alex Fong Lik Sun will wed. She said, "Not yet, if we truly wed I will make an announcement." When asked about planning, she replied, "Now I am very busy, in December I have to go to Hengdian to make a Mainland television series. Originally I thought it was too tough and I wouldn't make it, but in order to make a living I didn't have a choice. Now real estate is expensive, rent is expensive, I could only tough out two to three months." * (2012/11/13) THE LAST TYCOON (DAI SEUNG HOI) will soon open. The cast not only included Chow Yun Fat, Huang Xiaoming, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Yolanda Yuan Quan and other superstars, the film theme song performer is fellow heavyweight song god Jacky Cheung Hok Yau. This time producer Andrew Lau Wai Keung contacted Cheung Hok Yau, who already thought that the story was rather attractive as soon as he heard it. He immediately agreed to perform before the lyrics even reached his hands. He was even fully prepared before recording. In order to accurately interpret the film's emotions, he asked Lau Wai Keung to show him parts of the film. After seeing the trailer, Hok Yau said that the film was a rare one that shocked him in recent years. He said, "THE LAST TYCOON is a surging film. I hope to be able to sing the feeling of a man who look at the changes of a lifetime in detail, for the film through the lyrics to be sung into the hearts of viewers." Actually, Fat Gor years ago released a record that sold 100,000 copies and was the favorite of the music scene rookie that year. Later Fat Gor released an album that also received an enthusiastic response. In recent years he no longer had any intention to return to the microphone. When Fat Gor learned that Cheung Hok Yau would sing the theme song for THE LAST TYCOON, he felt that Hok Yau was the only choice. Fat Gor even joked, "Back then when I met Cheung Hok Yau I already felt that he was Song God. I immediately retired from music. This time is truly too great that THE LAST TYCOON asked him to sing the theme song. I truly can't wait to hear it. I originally wanted to sneak into the recording studio to hear it first, but they found out and stopped me. I could only wait for the song to be completed before enjoying it." Yesterday the film held a press conference in Beijing. All the actresses including Yuan Quan, Monica Mok Siu Kei, Feng Wenjuan, Yuan Li, Tong Fei, and Zheng Yitong attended with Lau Wai Keung and director Wong Jing. Bona film group chief Yu Dong even announced that THE LAST TYCOON has been scheduled for a December 22 Mainland release. He confidently said, "This Christmas, THE LAST TYCOON and THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) will exceed 1 billion at the box office." * (2012/11/12) The Johnnie To Kei Fung directed, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Sun Honglei and Gao Yunxiang starred DRUG WAR (DUK JIN) yesterday promoted in Beijing. The film will compete in the Rome Film Festival, later director To Kei Fung and Gao Yunxiang will attend the event! * (2012/11/12) The December 3D film release THE GUILLOTINES (HUET DIK JI) earlier promoted in Hong Kong and the Mainland. Boss Dr. Peter Lam Kin Ngok held a celebration for the team. Attendees included producer Peter Chan Ho Sun, director Andrew Lau Wai Keung, Huang Xiaoming, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Chris Lee Yuchun and Jing Boran. Xiaoming and Ah Lok's birthdays will both be on the 13th. The team secretly prepared birthday cakes for them and arranged for dishes like longevity noodles and birthday buns, much to the surprise of them both. Lau Wai Keung and Jing Boran when the birthday boys were not paying attention suddenly brought out two birthday cakes and surprised them both. Everyone sang birthday songs to celebrate. The director asked Xiaoming how old he would be after the birthday. He joked, "18." Ah Lok said that he never thought about celebrating his birthday. He also took advantage of the chaos and kissed Xiaoming when he was busy with the cake. Later he joked, "Hahaha, great!" Xiaoming awkwardly said, "This was the first time I kissed a man in my life, my first kiss went to him." Aside from birthday cakes, the boss also prepared birthday gifts for them. Lok Jai received a bottle of 1981 vintage wine while Xiaoming received a bottle of 1977 whiskey. Both were made on their birth years. Later the birthday boys asked the boss for a photo together but surprised him with a kiss instead. The boss of course was no match for their coordinated attack. Later Ah Lok and Xiaoming shared the birthday bun and birthday cake with other workers. Ah Lok said, "I wish for THE GUILLOTINES to be a big hit, 700 or 800 million at the box office would be enough. Save the rest for the sequel." As for birthday wish, he said, "When one person makes a wish it may not be completely successful, but when we both make a wish, it should be successful." Xiaoming said, "Right, 700 or 800 million!" Speaking of Ah Lok's kiss, he joked, "Ah Lok robbed me of the first kiss of my life with a man. Originally we wanted to kiss each other's face, I didn't expect to turn around and get one on the lips." * (2012/11/12) The Lu Chuan directed, Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Chang Chen, Liu Ye, Huo Siyan starred film THE LAST SUPPER (WONG DIK SING YIN) will be released officially in the Mainland on November 29, the same release date as Feng Xiaoming's new film 1942. THE LAST SUPPER gathered top male stars of three lands on both sides of the strait. Mainland star Huo Siyan as Lady Qi was the most perfect and the most touching face in the film according to the director. Lu Chuan even suggested for her to appear without make up and achieve the strict demand of "skin as smooth as a cooked egg that just has its shell removed". In the film, Ng Yin Cho played Xiang Yu, Chang Chen played Han Xin, Liu Ye played Liu Bang, Lady Qi was Liu Bang's favorite concubine and a famous performer of early Western Han. In history, after Liu Bang's death, Lady Qi suffered at the hands of Lu Zhi as her limbs were chopped off and locked in the latrine to become the "human swine". Huo Siyan said, "The director suggested for my skin to be like a cooked egg that just has its shell removed. In comparison to my good friend Qin Nan who played Lui Zhi in the film and had to wear aged make up, we became two eggs in the director's mouth; one was the cooked egg that just has its shell removed, the other is the tea egg that just has its shell removed!" Huo Siyan also for the first time removed most of her eyebrows to achieve the ancient beauty. She said, "Although I didn't wear any make up on my face, the time at the make up table wasn't discounted. I not only had to shape the brows but also the ancient hairstyle took at least two hours. I also had to hide the wig inside before the ancient woman hairstyle. The director didn't slack off at all in all the details." * (2012/11/11) Luisa Lai Chi San's program BEST ACTOR received raves. Tonight a special program CONFIDENTIAL FILE will air with never before seen footage. Nicholas Tse Ting Fung after revealing his skin cancer scare shared another surprising secret. Andy Lau Tak Wa talked about working with different directors. He joked that Johnnie To Kei Fung also has his soft side and thought that Wong Jing was a genius with a sense for the market. However he rarely appeared on the set, especially on Race Day. Tony Leung Chiu Wai talked about his confidant, what kind of person he is and his most captivating part. Anthony Wong Chau Sun spoke about acting and even evaluated Adam Cheng Siu Chau's acting. Attending Hong Kong screen writers included Manfred Wong (Man Jun), Teddy Robin Kwan, Alfred Cheung Kin Ting, Lau Tin Chi and Joe Cheung Tung Cho. The event yesterday held two exchange events then a press conference and a group photo opportunity. Today they will visit the Hong Kong film production base in Kwun Tong then wrap up the exchange. The Hong Kong film development fund covered the event expenses. Man Jun revealed that this time attending Mainland screen writers included Wong Kar Wai's new film THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) screen writer Zou Jingzhi, FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE (BA WONG BIT GEI) screen writer Lu Wei. He pointed out that in recent years Mainland film and television industry development has been thriving. Hong Kong screen writers might have an advantage when working in the north but they also have flaws. They are unable to closely include local life cultures. Thus many mainly write costume films. In Taiwan, in the past 102 scripts are needed, but over 70 had writers who were also directors. Only 28 were from pure screen writers. Thus screen writers could only be part time and could not make a living that way alone. As for screen writer salary, Man Jun said that Mainland is the best. An experienced screen writer could make 100,000 yuan RMB per episode, in comparison Hong Kong screen writers only make several tens of thousands. The difference is truly drastic. Thus Hong Kong screen writers mostly have to work as directors as well to receive higher compensations. He continued, although Mainland salary is attractive, the restrictions are numerous. It does not have as much creative space as Hong Kong does. * (2012/11/10) Gordon Lam Ka Tung yesterday worked on a new film trailer. In the story Ka Tung in order to chase after Yao Chen was run over. Has he done anything crazy for love in real life? He said, "Why would I!" In addition, Bonnie Xian (Sin Sik Lai) who will soon join the production visited the set. She revealed that later she will represent the film DIVA at a film festival in Hanoi. The film FUNG WON also has stars like Andy Lau Tak Wa and Hu Jun but yesterday only Ka Tung worked on the shoot. * (2012/11/10) William Chan Wai Ting in the new film TRIAD (JAT JIK) asked Deep Ng Ho Hong to hit him for real and got bruises all over, scaring even his own mother. In the film William played a daring Wise Guy who in order to rise makes enemy in his own turf, finally he crosses Ng Ho Hong and is brutally beaten. During the shoot, William for realism asked the Muay Thai trained Deep not to hold back. Finally for different angles William finally took a beating from Deep and a group of thugs for almost two hours, the hits were so loud that they could be recorded live. Because William at the time was topless and only wore boxers, he could not wear any protective pads. Thus after work he realized that he had bruises all over. The right side of his face was exaggeratedly swollen and affected the production. The director could only shoot the left side of his face for the sake of continuity. William joked later, "I have known Deep for so long but I didn't know that he fought so well. Originally I thought real hitting would be more realistic, I didn't expect to really get hurt. The right side of my face was so swollen that the director thought it was special effect make up. He said it was too fake and told me not to use such an exaggerated make up." * (2012/11/10) The Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei starred film COLD WAR (HONG JIN) two days ago officially opened and immediately created this year's Chinese film opening day highest box office record. Including the late night shows into the first day box office, the film made almost HK$2.2 million. Leung Ka Fai felt that viewers probably would not be able to understand the complicated relationships from just watching once and suggested for everyone to watch a few more times. Sing Sing said that he felt he was still living inside the character in the film. * (2012/11/09) Shaw recently has been making all star Lunar New Year films. This year's I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (NGOR OI HK 2013 GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) has been confirmed to start production in the middle of the month. Eric Tsang Chi Wai will produce, Chung Shu Kai will directed, stars will include TVB artists Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Bosco Wong Chung Chak, as well as the "Three Gods" Alan Tam Wing Lun, Tsang Chi Wai, and Nat Chan Pak Cheung. Other actors will include 70s sex bomb Samantha Ko Hoi Ning, illegal immigrant dim sum girl Natalie Yao Meng, Joyce Cheng Yi Yun, Fama and others. The trademark giant studio set will also try something new this year will an old school restaurant. Principal Tam who has not made a movie in a long time was willing to help completely due to sincerity. Director Chung Shu Kai said, "We tempted him with real emotions. He was working on movies several years ago, but earlier he had to sing and perform concerts! (Did you charge a lot?) I don't know how much he charged! He will even play a scene with his Wynners brothers. The story is still being discussed." Will this time still have TVB artist ensemble performance? He said, "It will, but the story is different. So it won't have as many as in the past years. (Stanley) Fung Shui Fan is definite. This will mainly be a male driven film." * (2012/11/09) Carina Lau Ka Ling, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Deanie Ip Tak Han, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Simon Yam Tat Wa and Wai Ying Hung yesterday attended the Tsim Sha Tsui Avenue of the Stars hand print ceremony to honor the film artists for their contribution to the film industry. The star hand prints will be on display at the end of the year. Ka Ling said that she would like to work with Ting Fung and joked that she would even play his lover or his sugar mama. Ting Fung of course agreed. Ka Ling praised Ting Fung and said that she watched him grow up since age 3 or 4. She said, "Back then in TVB Wooden Man Alley I saw him walking back and forth, now he is mature, obedient and gentle, real and honest. He also won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor." Ka Ling pointed out that she and Ting Fung had quite a connection and hoped to have a chance to work with him. She said, "I can be his mother, lover, sister, I can even be his sugar mama, we can have a lot of possibilities." Did she feel Ting Fung is the second good man after Tony Leung Chiu Wai? She said, "I don't know if he is. We haven't been together. Yet in recent years I feel he has made great strides. Now he is obedient and wouldn't anger his mother." Speaking of Leung Chiu Wai's THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) release next month, Ka Ling said that the film actually still had two scenes yet to be shot. She said, "With Wong Kar Wai's movies, often they can be released tomorrow but may still be shooting today." Ka Ling was asked why he did not work with Wai Jai? She said that actually they have worked together on 2046 and DAYS OF BEING WILD (AH FEI JING JUEN) but she only thought it was just for laughs. She said, "(The scenes) were shot but not used. Because we are too familiar with each other, no matter how the expressions don't feel like strangers'. I can't challenge my own acting." Ting Fung said that his father Patrick Tse Yin in 2004 was the first group of artists who provided their hand prints. He said that Papa did not come this time, otherwise his hand would be all wrinkled. The host asked Ting Fung whether he would be more careful with his action films. He said, "I love action films, I hope to be able to perform every stunt to the director. I hope Hong Kong films are more and more entertaining. I really want to work with Papa, but now when Pa and I work together, he can play my grandfather." Ting Fung admitted that he has always wanted to work with Ka Ling but did not dare to speak up since the decision was the director's. He said, "I just heard what Ka Ling said, actually we can because this society has real relationships between these ages. Some people really would like a 'kid'. These stories aren't unattractive." Would he make a romantic film with his own company? He said that his company has sponsored independent films. Wai Ying Hung, Yam Tat Wa, Koo Tin Lok and Ip Tak Han were also on hand. Ip Tak Han joked that she would like the chance to play a "pseudo model" or a Hong Kong woman but no one has asked her. She also said that she would like the most to work with handsome guys like Koo Tin Lok and Ting Fung. Ip Tak Han revealed that she will perform a concert in March. She said, "The last time was in 2005, this time may be the last time. I don't know when the next one after that will be." She also asked fans not to bring "pon pon sticks" or record video or sound. She said that sound recording would be fined HK$500 and video would be fined HK$5000. She also said that the series will only have three shows, absolutely not additional show and no guest. Wai Ying Hung said that she liked making movies very much, whether they are action and drama. She said, "In my age of film, over 400 movies were made in a year. Now over 100 are made, but they are more quality over quantity." Siu Hung said that she has worked with Lau Ka Ling, Ip Tak Han and Koo Tin Lok but not with Ting Fung yet. She felt that she and Ting Fung could play mother and son because she thought that they looked like each other. Siu Hung said that two months ago she received the hand print notice and felt very happy because this was the highest honor. She said that after the hand print was in place she would take a picture with her own hand print. Koo Tin Lok said that he just stayed in Thailand for two months to make a movie. In it he played a fire fighter. The film has many explosion scenes. He even had diving scenes for two days and he took in a lot of water. He said, "I never imagine that an explosion scene can be so large, some cinematographers were burnt, stunt men needed stitches. However Lau Ching Wan had it the worst. With the hot temperature, he had to wear very thick clothing and became dehydrated." Yam Tat Wa said that this was his first hand print ceremony in Hong Kong, which he considered completing history. Did he feel he was invited too late? He said no, he also said that he longed to work with "pseudo model" Ip Tak Han. Later he will attend her concert. * (2012/11/09) The Paco Wong produced, For For directed film LOVE IN TIME (DUT NGOR OI NEI) two nights ago held a premiere. They along with actors Bosco Wong Chung Chak, Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Sammy, Kitty Yuen Siu Yi and Sita Chan Hei Yi attended. Other guests included Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Elaine Lok Yi Ling, Michael Tse Ting Wa and Stephanie Cheng Yung. Stephy admitted that she invited her boyfriend Alex Fong Lik Sun but in the end he did not appear. She said, "It doesn't matter, he will buy a ticket and support the film!" Bosco who recently was rumored to have "clicked" with Kate Tsui Tsz Shan was asked if he asked Tsz Shan? He said, "It's just gossip, Tsz Shan even apologized to me, which made me feel even more sorry. I just treat it like film promotion!" He reiterated, "Lately with all the women and girlfriend talk, whoever I invite get worse!" Bosco received a TVB Best Actor nomination for his series WITNESS INSECURITY and was the favorite. He asked, "Really?" Stephy said that she would vote for him. He immediately thanked Stephy but he still picked Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung and Damien Lau Chung Yan. He admitted that if he won he would not feel he deserved it. With the general election for Best Actor and Best Actress this year, was he worried that he did not have as many fans as Raymond Lam Fung? He said that he truly never thought about winning. He was already very happy that everyone liked his series. Stephy joked that actually many girls were his fans. two nights ago she brought a group of young women to take pictures with her. Bosco joked, "I have been promoted to become a housewife killer." * (2012/11/08) The film THE LAST TYCOON (DAI SEUNG HOI) will be released in December for Christmas. The film company earlier released its first female character poster as lead actress Yolanda Yuan Quan officially appeared. She and Xin Baiqing being attacked in the rain and she and Chow Yun Fat's deeply touching romantic scenes were also unveiled. Yuan Quan applauded and cheered this opportunity to work with Fat Gor. Director Wong Jing said that since Maggie Cheung Man Yuk and Leon Lai Ming's COMRADES ALMOST A LOVE STORY (TIM MUK MUK) he has never been touched to the point of feeling "goose bumps" until the emotional scene between Yuan Quan and Fat Gor. Yuan Quan played Ye Zhiqiu who was attacked in the rain, knocked to the ground and got all wet. The entire scene had to be shot in the rain. Playing Ye Zhiqiu's husband, Xin Baiqing's heart ached because she had to fall again and again into the ice cold water. Xin Baiqing said that Yuan Quan wore a Chinese dress but still reminded him who was in a coat to quickly dry himself to avoid catching a cold. This actress was well worth respecting. In THE LAST TYCOON, Yuan Quan and Chow Yun Fat had many emotional scenes that not only received producer Andrew Lau Wai Keung's rave but her tears even conquered Fat Gor. He even personally congratulated the director on "getting a bargain". Although she received Fat Gor's praise, Yuan Quan also did not relax. She felt that this character's challenge was even greater and lamented that "it's too hard to be Big Brother's woman". Actually when Yuan Quan first came in contact with THE LAST TYCOON, she thought it was a mob film like YOUNG AND DANGEROUS (GOO WAT JAI) and A BETTER TOMORROW (YING HUNG BOON SIK). Later she read the script and realized that the woman in this film is truly too important. Chow Yun Fat has not held a gun on the big screen in a long time, which viewers looked forward to. His romantic scene was also rare in recent years. Lau Wai Keung revealed that earlier he conducted a survey to see which genre did people look forward to Fat Gor playing. The two aforementioned topics were higher among the results. Finally Wong Jing suggested for Chow Yun Fat to play both in one film. [ BLAH OF THE WEEK ] Columns, Reviews, Interviews 1. MING PAO DAILY, NOVEMBER 11 2012, FILM WORDS COPS AND ROBBERS COLD WAR: HONG KONG STRONG SUIT Hong Kong film of course has not died yet. Many have migrated north and fewer and fewer local productions can be seen, it seems to have to rely on category III "vulgarity" and "filth" for rescue. Yet there is light at the end of the darkness, some still are chopping away and make exceptionally good films. COLD WAR (HONG JIN) is an outstanding authentic Hong Kong police film, the story, the visual and the dramatic and the action scenes are all international class high level professional quality, the cast is strong and the scale large, full of new era special package feel. Wonderfully two new directors Sunny Luk Kim Ching and Longman Leung Lok Man co-wrote and co-directed. The former has been in the business rather long and was the assistant director on many films, the latter worked as on film art department jobs. Unexpectedly they were in full control of their first collaboration, the structure was rather decent and they did not resemble new comers at all. Hong Kong Film Does Not Lack Excellent Successors COLD WAR's genre and set up reminds people of the Andrew Lau Wai Keung and Alan Mak Siu Fai co-directed hit INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH) ten years that Hollywood remade into THE DEPARTED. Both have cops and robbers struggle, both have internal police conflict at their most suspenseful and exciting, in both good and evil were difficult to determine and victory hard to predict. Yet this new film absolutely does not counterfeit or recycle. Its structure is unique and has a style of its own, once again proving that police mystery remains Hong Kong's strong suit. Whenever it seems to be on its last leg, it would have a surprising change. Actually last year Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung's OVERHEARD 2 (SIT TING FUNG WON 2) and Johnnie To Kei Fung's LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM)G were both good police films. Now COLD WAR fortunately displays not only famous directors' continuous show of ability but also no shortage of excellent successors. This film's story is very complicated and does not need to be discussed in detail, when I watch movies I do not like to know the story in advance either. As soon as it starts sudden danger arises, Hong Kong police reacts to the emergency. The meeting debates, planning details and the information technology investigations are all unconventional, full of realism and inventiveness. In addition the crooks seem to have inside information of the police, being a step ahead at every turn and creating an intrigue battle of wits. The car chases and gun fight action scenes are also thrillingly explosive. As the film develops, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Ka Fai play two deputy commissioners whose power struggle is full of twists and turns and even involves the Security Bureau. In the second half even the Independent Commission Against Corruptions investigates high ranking police officers, adding more turbulence into the storm. Surprisingly Great Visual With Beautiful Hong Kong Scenery On Display COLD WAR completely takes place in Hong Kong, the visual is surprisingly great. The lengthy journey to the ransom exchange vividly uses both sides of the Victoria harbor's actual busy city locations, making it very lively and realistic. Particularly exciting is its frequent use of the bird's view eye in the sky shot for Hong Kong scenery, displaying this modern city's beauty with thrilling surprise. This is hard for us to see when the building forest, the smog, the pollution and the negative news surround us, the realization is even somewhat "shocking" that Hong Kong actually is so pretty! This film also stresses Hong Kong's transparent law enforcement, government departments each has its own jurisdiction. No matter who is in charge no one has the special privilege to hijack the law, which is the more valuable part of Hong Kong in the Chinese society. Each Actor Has An Entertaining Performance One can say that COLD WAR actually "beautifies" Hong Kong. Wonderfully it still has people who know the laws breaking the law and using any means necessary. Even the "good guy" is walking on the edge, using each department's independent law enforcement to make a comeback strategy to expose the hidden traitor. This strategy actually involves dangerous gray areas and inevitably exaggerates ideas for the sake of mystery. The resolution is not convincing enough, but undoubtedly from the beginning to the end it remains attractive. Each of the numerous actors give entertaining performance. Leung Ka Fai's is the most explosive, Kowk Fu Sing this time is also extra mature and steady, Gordon Lam Ka Tung is low key yet great, in addition Andy Lau Tak Wa guest stars as the high rank official, and Charlie Yeung Choi Nei is not weak at all in this men filled film. Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting)'s acting remains immature. Eddie Peng Yu-Yen's key character has limited screen time, will the film be "to be continued"? (Four out of five stars) - SHEK KEI 2. APPLE DAILY, NOVEMBER 10 2012, ELECTRIC FILM ROAD IRENE WAN: SEXY BIG SISTER NIGHTMARE Category III film TRIAD (JAT JIK) involves many mob ceremony scenes, as the mob widow Irene Wan Bik Han in order to avenge her husband compete with twenty something guys William Chan Wai Ting and Deep Ng Ho Hong for the Dragon Head spot. Although mob veteran Chan Wai Man made fun and called the film less than convincing, when would a sexy woman like Wan Bik Ha appear in underwear in such a serious mob ceremony? Meanwhile, after this scene, she said that she had nightmares from parts of the ceremony. - CHEUNG CHUN MING, MAN KWOK CHUN Hong Kong Release Date: November 15 The Wan Bik Ha and William Chan Wai Ting starred mob film TRIAD received a category III rating. Playing the mob boss Lam Lei's wife Irene said that Hong Kong in recent years rarely had similar mob films. In addition this time she played the vicious mob big sister, which made her have an even deeper experience in her performance. "This time the character was very wise and daring mob widow, she would keep many things inside and would not get mean on the surface. The performance had to be very reserved." One of the reasons that TRIAD received a category III rating was mainly the mob initiation ceremony. Irene said that she has seen many Wise Guy films in the past, many barely scratched the surface. This time the director spent a lot of time to express the ceremony, the feeling of which was as mysterious as a horror film. She said, "The ceremony had wish making, praying, oath with a knife on your back, fowl slaughter, I have never come in contact with any of it at all. After the shoot the impression was still very deep, that night I even had a nightmare." The reason was that the process was too real and bone chilling. However it also did not lack sexy scenes when Irene had to take her oath in sexy underwear, conceivably to satisfy certain viewer's visual pleasure. Not Holding Back, No Mercy Another scene that was memorable for Irene was when she slapped her subordinate Deep Ng Ho Hong. Differed from the feeling of being abused in the past, it still was just as hard to take. "He and I were at odds and I viciously slapped him. In the past people mostly picked on me, this time it was my turn to hit someone. The feeling was very hard to take. Actually picking on someone didn't feel very good either. That scene was very explosive. The first time I held back, then I let go. Luckily it was OK after two takes." On the other hand William has been in the film industry for four years and was the lead films that started from women's point of view like EX (CHIN DOH) and HI, FIDELITY (CHOOK GWAI DIK NUI YUN). This time he went the other direction and worked on the fully masculine TRIAD. He admitted that he was not too used to it but rather liked the attempt. "I feel like I grew up, I don't want to keep making romance. I can try to make some more masculine movies. This time I finally have a chance and I am very happy!" William Takes A Beating For Three Days In the film William's character in ten years went from a street Wise Guy into a mob boss, on the way to his promotion he had to take a beating for three days. "It really wasn't glorious for me. On my first day of work my face was beaten and swollen up an inch thick. Finally some scenes had to be shot away from the right side of my face; then the next days I took another beating in a coffin store; the third day was on Temple Street. Finally I couldn't help but ask the director how many days of beating were left, as it was more like killing than promotion." Working with veterans like Patrick Tam Yiu Man and Chan Wai Man, William admitted that he benefited a lot. "Brother Wai Man already has a presence when he appears, which goes without saying. On the set he used his own experience to teach us the mob slangs." As for Tam Yiu Man, William admitted that his mother's idol was Ah Tam and she even visited the set. "Ah Ma and I liked to watch Ah Tam's acting very much, he and I on the set had a lot to talk about. He also liked to dance, we had a little exchange." Synopsis: Dragon Head Massacre TRIAD is about Ah Ting, Ah Cheung and Ah Tung, who started to follow Yiu Man in Yau Ma Tei at age 16 and were like brothers. Ah Ting through a former classmate's connection collected debts for a tycoon and gradually rose to fame, crossing fellow mob member Explosive Ming and was viciously beaten. Ah Ting and heiress Michelle fell in love. Michelle's father Boss Wong wagered with her that Ah Ting would not give up the mob for love. The mob ordered the elimination of Explosive Ming, Ah Ting due to grudges new and old ignored his boss's hope to spare Explosive Ming and gave him a chance to successful move into the Dragon Head spot. However Explosive Ming's widow Sister Irene in order to avenge her husband wanted to be the Dragon Head as well as an eye for an eye from Ah Ting.
