Asian Development Bank (ADB) Programs

South of Robinson Shopping Complex, and north of ShoeMart MegaMall, the ADB is an international (targeted at Asia) organisation giving out loan for development projects in its member-countries e.g. Philippines, China, Mongolia, Vietnam. It has a total of 1,966 employees (comprising Professional 676 and Supporting 1,290) of 46 Nationalities (including Ms Sophia HO from Hong Kong). The following is its library:

With reference to the HKUSU-LFS itinerary, the ADB has 5 projects for peasants, but none for cleaning up the Payatas refuse dumping ground, where the surrounding poor sort out the left-overs as scavengers in order to earn a living:

ADB policies on governance and corruption

Policy on Cooperation Between ADB and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) details how the HKUSU can write to the ADB about improving ADB's program in areas such as Payatas and rural developments. The relevant ADB official is the NGO Coordinator Mr Gordon Wilkinson at [email protected]
