The Movie

This top notch action extravaganza from the producer of Jet Lee's Fong Sai Yuk is a rollicking Hong Kong tale starring action stalwart Yuen Biao (The Iceman Cometh) and Anita Mui (Rumble in the Bronx, , Mister Canton and Lady Rose).

Set in a beautifully recreated 1930s Shanghai, Biao stars as a naïve young man, arriving from the countryside in search of his brother, who's in the army. In the process he gets mixed up in a war between two vicious triad gangs, and Anita - the goddaughter of one of the triad leaders, is caught between them.

When Biao's long lost brother resurfaces, his loyalties are torn; will he do his duty or try and save his brother?

A bone cracking, nail biting modern action thriller from Hong Kong's top action stars.

Movie Ratings

A movie that has a lot of potential with three of Hong Kong's top stars, but fails to deliver. With only two major fight scenes - which were both right at the end of the film, most of the film is just boring dialogue. Yuen Biao is convincing as the "hero", but after seeing so many movies with Sammo as a loveable good guy, it makes it hard to believe him to be the baddy!
