Gangster vendettas, late night intrigue in the darkened clubs of Shanghai, a city split in two by colonial oppression..... welcome to the world of Hero.

Arriving in Shanghai, Jing is immediately challenged by Shanghai's number one ganglord Tam See.
Impressed by Jing, Tam offers him a place in his organisation Jing refuses - confident that he will make his own way in Shanghai.

When Tam's rival Yang makes a failed bid to eliminate him, Jing makes a play for a beautiful singer from downtown's Club Spring and takes over several of his rival's territories; Yang's retaliation is devastating and leaves Jing left for dead and Tam framed for murder....

It's war on the streets of Shanghai , as the evil Yang destroys his rivals to begin a reign of tyranny. Revenge will be Tam and Jing's; or Shanghai will be lost forever to the triads....
