The Movie

Jet Lee’s powerhouse kung fu reworking of Bruce Lee’s "Fist of Fury" is truly incredible, and has a deserved reputation as a film classic. "Fist of Legend" has all the ingredients of classic fu film making; epic theme music, Widescreen fight scenes and action that leaves viewers open mouthed and gasping for more!

The Japanese have occupied early 20s China. When Jet’s martial arts teacher dies in mysterious circumstances, he abandons his studies and discovers a machiavellian plot to keep China under the iron fist of the Japanese invaders. Further complicating matters, his friends and comrades refuse to accept his Japanese wife, and he sets out to avenge his beloved master by himself.

This contemporary re telling of one of the most famous Bruce Lee fight spectaculars has considerable maturity and flair; director Gordon Chan (Jackie Chan’s Thunderbolt) has approached his retelling of the story with panache and sensitivity.
Chan’s cinematography full of expansive, fluent tracking shots beautifully captures a troubled China; spellbinding landscapes, and bustling cities jam packed with all manner of stories and characters.

A true jewel in the Jet Lee action crown - great photography, moving music, consistent performances, romance, humour and - needless to say - the greatest action available on the screen today.

My Thoughts Movie Ratings

One of the single best films that you will ever see.  Voted by the Jet Li Mailing List as Jet's best movie ever, and once you watch it you'll probably agree.  I know I do!
